Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Im on Wegovy but can I join? I took my first Jab like an hr ago

SusanSHelit · 31/05/2025 15:38

I've had some gastro discomfort this afternoon but I'm also on day one of my period (fantastic timing 🙄) and I always have dodgy guts then with some serious period bloat so I'm hoping it's just down to that.

What are the clear protein powders like, do they have that gross protein aftertaste or are they OK?

Thornrose · 31/05/2025 15:53

BadgerFace · 31/05/2025 13:58

I had irrational fear of side effects as well and nearly delayed doing my first jab on Thursday as I was in the office on Friday but it’s been completely fine! Also feeling good today as I avoided my usual Friday night wine… 😇

Feeling stuffed after eating less for lunch than usual so looking forwards to not heading for the crisps this afternoon. DH has steak and chips planned for dinner so I’m thinking of a half portion maybe, he’s under instruction to be planning for lean proteins for our next week’s meals!

That's so good to hear @BadgerFace

I'm really hoping it will break my wine drinking habit🤞🏻 That's a major issue as then I eat crisps and crap the next day.

Without wine I'm a pretty healthy eater.

I think they taste good with no nasty aftertaste. They can be a little bitter so I choose a flavour with that in mind and usually dilute with more water than the directions recommend. The mojito flavour myprotein one is great.

Hello all. Hope I can join you, I had my first jab on Thursday morning. I’m down 20kg on where I was two years ago, but still 30kg from where I would like to be, so after a long plateau followed by gradual regain despite still tracking everything and tons of exercise I decided to give this a go.

I know this is only day 3 but I could cry. I’m not hungry all the time! Is this how normal people feel? I’ve planned out my 1500 calorie 100g protein 30g fibre meals but I haven’t been able to finish them, let alone had the urge to have anything else. Was a bit tired and had a mildly gurgling stomach the first couple of days, so took it easy and just did my steps rather than anything more strenuous, but powered through my Circuits class this morning. Maybe this could actually work!

I am very similar @Thornrose , beer and wine I’m sure are why I put on weight in the first place and then crisps, carbs and cheese the next day when hungover…

I finished both of my pregnancies a stone lighter than the start once the babies were out after the year of abstinence and was my adult lightest (10.5 stone) when my youngest was 1. Have put on 2 stone in the years since which I’m hoping to now lose…

Sounds like a great start @MsRinky!

I've had some upper gastric discomfort too. Although I live in fear of pancreatitis as I don't have a gallbladder so think I create imaginary anxiety pain 😅

moremoremores · 31/05/2025 17:38

Can I join, I'm on week 1

@NervyWegovy on wegovy here too

Mine hasn't been upper, very much in my bowels. I've been a bit headachey too but a couple of large glasses of water have helped massively

Have had zero hunger today, so on balance probably actually had less discomfort overall than a typical day of constant niggling hunger no matter what I ate

nexttonormal · 31/05/2025 17:52

Week 1 day 1 on mounjaro here. Jabbed this afternoon after feeling really confident to do so all day, then dithering for a good 15 mins once it was out the box and in my hand.

Lots of water and trying to carry on like nothing has changed so I don't become hyper sensitive to possible side effects.

Starting at 79Kg and aiming for 60kg.

Good luck all!

YourPerfectCousin · 31/05/2025 18:00

I gave in and jabbed about 5 minutes after it arrived. Absolutely no self control, which is probably why I'm in this mess! I've had a litre of water and a fybrogel sachet just in case.

BeeElle · 31/05/2025 19:12

I’ve done my first jab a few hours ago (well, got someone else to) and feeling hyper aware of any side effects. Really hoping it’s not going to be too bad!

dietstartstmoz · 31/05/2025 19:12

I haven't jabbed yet. Have been out all day and just eaten a normal dinner. Now feeling full and don't know if to jab this evening for my first one, or before bed or leave it until tomorrow morning?
Any suggestions?

I did mine last night after eating and before bed, in a bid to minimise side effects. I don't know if that's really how it works but I've felt OK today, and very little to no hunger

dietstartstmoz · 31/05/2025 19:18

Thanks @SusanSHelit
I'll probably do it later. God I feel so nervous about doing it.
But I need to lose this weight for my health so it has to be done.

It is nerve wracking doing that first dose for sure! But know you are not alone, we are all in the same boat here, that's what this thread is for

BadgerFace · 31/05/2025 19:43

@dietstartstmoz I also did my first jab at night after reading lots of threads and I liked someone saying you might sleep off any side effects. As it was I haven’t had any so far so fingers crossed that continues. My only regret so far is not starting last month (or earlier!)!

This is exactly how I feel! Like weirdly NOT hungry or thinking about food, except reminding myself to actually eat!
W1D1 and just some more… ahem… regularness 👀 but nothing to write home about.
Using MyFitnessPal to track calories.

What is everyone aiming for per day?

Fatrosrhun · 31/05/2025 20:24

SusanSHelit · 31/05/2025 11:28

I'd say squash is fine. It's 99.9% water anyway

Took my first jab last night and I'm wiped out today, though that could just be because of work

Suppression is there but not super strong I don't think. Need to figure out how to get enough protein, may be tri as I don't like protein shakes and I'm vegetarian.

I normally eat quite a lot of cheese and nuts but I fear they may what got me into this predict in the first place

Hi, just popping in from the May group, I’m on week 2, day 4. I’m veggie too. I’ve been having Greek yogurt with berries and chia, pumpkin and sunflower seeds for breakfast. Either homemade veg soup or a big salad with added feta cheese blocks and pine nuts for lunch. And then something like a lentil shepherds pie, or a chickpea curry (with chopped toms, peppers, mushrooms etc) and a little brown rice, or a ratatouille type thing as a pasta sauce. I’ve had grapes and yoghurt as snacks. According to my tracking on the Voy app I’m getting enough protein. Adding a few nuts won’t hurt.
But I am not getting much suppression and no side effects yet, so am able to eat most things.

DrZhivago · 31/05/2025 20:45

Hi all, I’ll be taking my first jab tomorrow- is it better to take it in the morning or evening?

Potterson13 · 31/05/2025 20:45

I’m feeling ok today again. Still reminding myself to eat, not having the alcohol suppression though which is frustrating 😂 I think my only side effect so far has been night sweats, and perhaps a little more tired than normal but I have two energetic boys so it could just be that!

I’m also using my fitness pal to track. It gave me 1200 calories which I know is pretty standard for MFP but apparently that’s too low. I’m looking at some TDEE calculators online as I’ve seen recommended but they all say different things so I’m unsure really.. it’s a bit of a minefield.

is anyone trying to up their exercise while taking MJ? I’d really like to but I have a 9-5 office job and two young kids at home I just feel exhausted. Maybe losing some weight will motive me

This sounds really similar to what I eat now, so that's pretty encouraging 😊
I have noticed today though that I'm more full more quickly and haven't been able to finish every meal
