Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Second jab done this morning. Food noise increased yesterday and I began to snack more in the evening. First week loss of 5lb which is amazing but a drop in the ocean.

YourPerfectCousin · 31/05/2025 10:05

My first jab arrives this morning, I think I'm aiming for tomorrow evening to take it as we've got a big day out planned for Sunday.

I still haven't told anyone.

Booklover2021 · 31/05/2025 10:23

Took my first jab last night. Woke up feeling ok, a bit full actually. Slight hunger a few hours after waking so had a small plate of scrambled eggs!

Got protein shakes ready for when I'm at work as that will be my breakfast!

Same. Just unboxed it. Read the leaflet, will read it again and again before actually administering it 😂

Xmasfairy86 · 31/05/2025 10:30

So if I put aside my fears of any side effects I’m reading that I need to be mindful of protein intake, and plenty of water

anything else before I take the plunge?!

ThatWildBear · 31/05/2025 10:47

Did my first injection on Thursday morning.. was nervous but actually the needle is so fine I couldn’t feel a thing. Appetite seemed suppressed almost straight away and I’ve been struggling to feel like eating since. I had a bit of cous cous and (fried) lamb last night and now I’ve got the most terrible explosive diarrhoea.. not sure I dare leave the house today. Any tips about avoiding the shits??

What did you fry the lamb in? My dad has been on the jab just over a month and has been fine but struggles with fatty foods and cooking oil.

(He lost 18lbs in 5 weeks too!)

I've watched a lot of videos on tik tok with advice and some have recommended a multi vitamin as well x

Sunflower oil.. but I’d marinated it in yogurt, oil and spices. Maybe just too much for my stomach to cope with!! I’m also struggling to drink enough water which probably doesn’t help either..

Tinybirdie · 31/05/2025 11:23

Do you think it's okay to drink squash rather than water? I blooming hate drinking water on its own

Tinybirdie · 31/05/2025 11:25

Looks like everyone is getting good suppression. I'm D1W1 after injecting last night. I'm not sure what I'm expecting. I feel like I could quite happily eat but also not running to the kitchen to do so. Speaking to others they had described it as feeling ill at the thought of food. I definitely don't feel that

NeedyTiger · 31/05/2025 11:27

Hey everyone I have been waiting for a June thread ! I'm new have had my pen for 3 weeks but had to delay due to operation this Tuesday but had my first dose on Thursday I'm exited to be on this journey and thread with you all xx

Mich57 · 31/05/2025 11:27

I'm struggling to find a good protein powder without a ton of calories! Have looked at myprotein as recommended. I'd like to use it as a smoothie. Currently having a 20g protein yoghurt with breakfast.

Any tips on how you are getting maximum protein as recommended? 🙏🏼😊

SusanSHelit · 31/05/2025 11:28

I'd say squash is fine. It's 99.9% water anyway

Took my first jab last night and I'm wiped out today, though that could just be because of work

Suppression is there but not super strong I don't think. Need to figure out how to get enough protein, may be tri as I don't like protein shakes and I'm vegetarian.

I normally eat quite a lot of cheese and nuts but I fear they may what got me into this predict in the first place

I prefer the clear whey - vimto a personal fave! Less than 100 calories for 20g protein
not sure how that would go in a smoothie though as it foams up.

the my protein diet whey I’ve used previously was just over 200 cals for a 60g serving which is 35g protein

Mine is about to arrive from Juniper, and I won’t be in.

Will it survive until tomorrow evening do you think?

Or if I asked a neighbour to take it, does the packaging make it obvious what it is?

ArwenStewQueen · 31/05/2025 12:10

Really good high protein/low cal staples I was following on a super careful diet to lose the 7st were:

No/Low fat cottage cheese
Chicken breast (no skin)
Bacon Medallions
0% fat Faje yoghurt (Aldi do an AMAZING dupe)
Smoked salmon
lean steak cuts
chicken mince
turkey mince
Tuna cans
lentils
chickpeas
half fat feta
Oats or oatcakes
High protein yoghurt pouches from Aldi

One tip I’d say is to be careful of those products that state ‘high protein’ as usually it’s only 1-2g higher than if you were buying the regular product, but £££ more expensive!

Diet protein powders are a fab way to get the protein up, but also don’t forget fibre - flax seeds and chia seeds in a bit of yoghurt were my go to.

I went from 19st to 11st in 18 months following a high protein/low carb/high fibre diet (with a professional PT) plus lots of weights to build muscle - I broke my leg in November so slipped back 5st and am so cross with myself!

Happy to answer any questions/any diet/exercise tips as I know the theory but just lacking the practise now 😂

The packaging is just a plain box with your address on, and the cool pack will keep it cool all day till you get home if you have it delivered to a safe place :)

SusanSHelit · 31/05/2025 12:38

It comes packed in ice, so mine survived the 9 hours before I got home from work, and the ice was still frozen, but I don't know if it would survive until tomorrow evening

Tinybirdie · 31/05/2025 13:04

Anyone else on the journey minus a gallbladder?

I've a little right sided and shoulder discomfort this afternoon. I'm hoping it's just referred stomach discomfort and will settle down.

BadgerFace · 31/05/2025 13:58

Thornrose · 31/05/2025 09:23

Well I just got an email and I can collect mine on Monday 😬 I am so nervous. I think I'll wait until Friday to start.

I think I'm irrationally fearful of side effects. But telling myself that being this overweight is also incredibly risky!

I'm in a new job and worried about being unwell or running to the loo etc.

I had irrational fear of side effects as well and nearly delayed doing my first jab on Thursday as I was in the office on Friday but it’s been completely fine! Also feeling good today as I avoided my usual Friday night wine… 😇

Feeling stuffed after eating less for lunch than usual so looking forwards to not heading for the crisps this afternoon. DH has steak and chips planned for dinner so I’m thinking of a half portion maybe, he’s under instruction to be planning for lean proteins for our next week’s meals!

shifting12345 · 31/05/2025 14:03

I’m waiting for my juniper consultation, submitted the photos etc this morning. Have had a mild allergic reaction this morning to some hair dye for the first time this morning and worried I’ll be rejected (or maybe I’m just panicking.)

greektreacle · 31/05/2025 14:32

Took my first dose on Tuesday night. Woke up feeling STUFFED and had to prop myself up on pillows to get back to sleep 🤣

Had some middle of the night diarrhoea too, but once that passed I’ve been fine really.

I felt really full all the time until today, now I feel a bit more normal and ate much more for lunch. Having to remember to eat regularly as even though I’m not hungry I still get the hungry rage 😳

Doing ok for protein, using Plenny strawberry flavour and it’s not bad for days where I haven’t been able to get much in through food (work lunch on a busy day). It’s higher cal but it’s a meal replacement in theory so I’m not really having it in addition to 3 meals.

Really impressed so far. Long may it continue!

Radiatorvalves · 31/05/2025 15:06

24 hours in. Haven’t told family so had Saturday cooked breakfast (smallish portion) that I struggled to finish. Modest lunch at 2. And buckets of water. Feeling ok so far. Weighing half a kg more than yesterday but hoping that’s an aberration.

Mich57 · 31/05/2025 15:09

@Xmasfairy86 thank you! Ordered this as I'm a vanilla coffee fan! ☺️
