Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

@averythinline Yes for me it was to avoid immediate effects and spend the day over analysing every little feeling, physical sensation. I knew by the time I woke up, it was a good chance the effects would have kicked in.

Sam187 · 10/06/2025 08:20

@averythinline W2 D1 here. I've been doing mine in the evening to sleep through any potential side effects and like @UglyBastardFace said, to not over analyse everything.

I'm a terrible sleeper usually, but I have noticed on the night I take my jab my sleep is much worse than usual. Might just be my body getting used to something new.

Feel fine again this morning, suppression is definitely back to full strength, I can never even face my first coffee then morning after the jab.

notagainyoufool · 10/06/2025 08:23

Morning! It’s jab day for me today. I’ve lost 6lbs this week. Today will be my 3rd jab.
I’ve found I lose weight at the beginning of the week and then nothing for the rest of the week. Has anyone else who is weighing daily noticed that?
I don’t mind because I still have loss, it’s just interesting.
I’m definitely eating in calorie deficit, but I’ve had a very stressful last few days, so I’m wondering if that’s linked.

andmoreagain · 10/06/2025 08:40

Second jab today. First week was fine apart from one evening when I had some macaroni cheese as a treat and had really bad stomach pains afterwards. Mild headache but water seems to relieve that.
4lbs down which I'm really pleased with and I'm pretty sure I've lost some inches on my waist although I didn't take any measurements before starting. Might do that today to keep the motivation up.
I did have some wine last week so going to try 0 alcohol this week to see what difference it makes.

SW - 215lbs
CW - 211lbs
GW - 159lbs

Week 1 done and 5lbs down!

i've been using the Voy app, which focuses on healthy eating and protein levels rather than calorie counting, protein is a new concept for me.

I've upped my exercise, I normally walk a lot and do 10,000 to 12,000 steps a day as I have a dog, so out and about with him but went swimming twice, and a couple of cardio sessions at the gym.

Felt jab was wearing off at the weekend, but really enjoyed my chicken Sunday roast! Earlier in the week, all food I felt I could take it or leave it so was nice to really enjoy a meal but still have the great weight loss this morning.

Keep going everyone, onwards and downwards.

Those having sickness/side effects I really hope they pass soon.

I use Voy too (at the moment, don’t know whether I will be able to afford it more than a couple of months though). I think it’s fabulous. Much more sensible than counting calories and easier to train yourself to eat better for a future without MJ hopefully.

Seriestwo · 10/06/2025 08:50

I’m also on voy and impressed, the chat bot is a bit glitchy but I really like the support in the app and having access to a coach. And I REALLY like having a pack to keep everything in my fridge!

im only on day 3, huge appetite suppression and tired. V tired!

Fatrosrhun · 10/06/2025 08:58

The chatbot is fabulous. I’ve used it for recipes and suggestions for picnic ideas. It’s so good. I like the food analysis too. If you’re struggling with the bot not working properly tell them. I couldn’t log in for the first four days after my first jab, which was really annoying, and they’ve given me 20% off my next month.

Fatrosrhun · 10/06/2025 09:03

I’ve just done my third weight in and have lost 2lbs, taking me to 11lbs in total. I’ve not had much suppression and absolutely no side effects, which has enabled me to eat a lot of healthy food. I’m going to do the golden dose next week and then perhaps try 3.75 mgs from my 5mg pen and see how that goes.

I was reading the November Mounjaro thread and they recommend using the Me360 app to scan and record your dimensions so you can compare in the weeks and months to come. Handy if you plateau but are looking for non scale victories.

the app is free (as long as you don’t subscribe to premium)

I thought it was a great idea to do this now while we are at the start of our weight loss journey.

Have a great day!

maddiemookins16mum · 10/06/2025 09:32

Hi all, just checking and wanted to say how great this group is, we’re all on this journey together, there’ll be wins and losses over the weeks, but it’s so nice to see encouragement, advice and support from each other. I’ve always felt a level of shame about being obese, people look at you differently (well I think so anyway). Only my DP and a few close friends know I’m taking the jab so it’s nice to have you lot to also share with.

riverislanjeans · 10/06/2025 09:47

I did it! I jabbed last night about 7.30pm so I'm officially on W1D1!

I feel ok! I felt really anxious around 11pm last night & my heart was racing but I think I'd worked myself up about side affects and worrying about what was going to happen.

I didn't sleep much, had very broken sleep but did manage a couple of hours in the end.

Feeling ok today, maybe ever so slightly sick, not as if I could be sick, but the thought that I probably couldn't stomach any food just yet and I have a little bit of a headache but that had started to come on yesterday afternoon before I'd jabbed so don't think it's related!

Also - my tea tasted so funny this morning!! Anyone else had that?

I've been impressed too, like the fact you can take a photo of your food and it analyses it, definitely helping me make sensible choice and I like the way it gives you a score out of 10!

Hello everyone

I’ve just started today, I’m another one based in Australia. But as an Englisher who’s been on this site since before I moved here I’d like to stay with you chaps if that’s ok.

looking to say farewell to 20kg, here we go.

Hi there! 👋Welcome...

How did you find your first jab?

Is it a similar process in Aus getting prescribed or is it more freely available? I believe places like the UAE you can just get it over the counter!

YouAndMeVsTheWorld · 10/06/2025 10:20

Thanks @riverislanjeans

I think it’s a very similar process. I have a lovely gp who has been checking in with me for a while and we finally agreed that I needed to take more affirmative action. So for me I got the prescription.

we do have the subscription services as well, so people can go online.

not gonna lie, I love the idea of popping to Asda though. (it is UK week at Aldi tomorrow and apart from prawn cocktail crisps I’m just not there for it this time, there’s nothing else I couldn’t get at a normal supermarket) but I miss a mooch round Asda

That made me laugh so much 😂😂😂

Kbr22 · 10/06/2025 11:38

It is not as scary as I thought it would be. I did my first with my chemist as he wanted to be sure I would be able to do it. I have now done 2 on my own and it gets easier each time.

BrilliantineStickInsect · 10/06/2025 11:48

W1D3 for me and I feel fine, the only thing is still feeling really cold!!! I’m not getting as much appetite suppression as I’d quite hoped for but I know it’s different for everyone. I’m eating less and making better choices and not getting that ‘sick with hunger’ feeling that I usually get, which is something.

UglyBastardFace · 10/06/2025 12:17

W1D3 and appetite suppression definitely waning. I demolished a pack of hula hoops and feeling the occasional hunger pang. The thirst is also subsiding. On the flip side, my slight headache is gone too.

I will keep repeating "2.5mg is a starter dose, starter dose..."

Rockfordpeach · 10/06/2025 12:31

W1D6 for me. Freezing cold but in a kind of cold flushes kind of way if that makes sense? Ate more than i should have yesterday but suppression is really strong today. Couldnt finish breakfast and the smell of my soup heating up to put in a flask for work made me want to throw up

Shwingbada · 10/06/2025 12:39

I have gone off tea as well - I normally drink lots of strong cups a day and like it really hot, but it's felt like it's scalding my oesophagus and made me feel slightly unpleasant. Very weird!

ThisNeedsToWork · 10/06/2025 12:53

W1D3 here. Still not much appetite but I can definitely sense less suppression than on D1 and D2. It’s almost 1pm and I feel like I’d like to eat whereas on the first 2 days I really had to force myself to eat. No SE so far other than a nasty headache yesterday but I’m drinking lots of water and sticking to fairly bland food.
@riverislanjeans, I’m a big tea drinker but could really take it or leave it these last few days. It doesn’t taste odd or anything, more that I just don’t really want it.

riverislanjeans · 10/06/2025 12:54

@Shwingbada I've had one since and it tasted more normal! 😂

Trying to drink more water though than tea... I'm 1L down so far!

Also had a chicken wrap and managed to eat ok, usually I'd have had a bag of crisps and a chocolate bar to go with it but just the wrap was good for today!

Don't feel stuffed, but don't feel like I need anything else either!

PuppyHerder · 10/06/2025 13:21

Really getting a lot out of reading your experiences, thank you!
W1D2 for me. Woke up with a really dry mouth, so even though I felt I was drinking more than usual yesterday, will up the water. I think I usually roll back on water intake in the evenings as don't want to be up to the loo all night, but will try and keep going today.

Does anyone feel comfortable giving examples of what you are eating and when? I'm used to fasting and don't know if that will work on Mounjaro as think I might struggle to eat enough in a small eating window.
I'm conscious that after years of dieting, binging, late night snacking, I've really stuffed up my metabolism.
