Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Anyone got any idea how long the feeling cold and intense tiredness will last? I’m on W1 D5 and I’ve had to retreat to bed with a hot water bottle.

Feeling horribly bloated and uncomfortable, I’ve had 1250 calories today but I can’t lie down without feeling sick. Dinner was a single serving (was hello Fresh so made one meal and it’ll do me for 2 days) and I’d have been hungry if I hadn’t finished it I think. Do I need to split my portions up more?

However, it’s totally worth it to see the scales dropping and knowing that it’ll not be too long before it passes.

What sort of meals have you been having?

Can you be immune? 😂

6pm, day 2 after first jab, and I’m ravenous, light headed and absolutely forcing myself not to eat the chocolate rice crispie bites on the side. So just like I would be on a ‘will power alone’ diet.

my TDEE is 1278 calories, I’ve had porridge breakfast, pasta lunch (leftovers) and apple + banana snacks so wouldn’t say I’m overly restricting food, I’m not surviving on lettuce leaves or anything.
desperately waiting for dinner (chilli) to be ready before I pass out :(

definitely not feeling appetite suppression nor aversion to any foods.

can anyone offer reassurance please 🙏🏼

Stick with it, it’s really really early days.

LongGinShortTonic · 07/06/2025 21:51

@Booklover2021 yesterday I had Greek yogurt and blueberries for breakfast, Thai vegetable gyoza and salad for lunch, a small steak and medley of green veg for dinner. Today I had a boiled egg on toast for breakfast, a salmon poke bowl for lunch, one single chocolate digestive and supper was a chicken, tomato and pepper dish with rice.

To be fair that all sounds lush! Are you having enough water? Sorry to pry just seeing if there's a reason for the bloated and sick feeling?

The only time I've had the bloating was when I had food cooked in sunflower oil, rather than the cooking spray or olive oil (weird I know!) and today I felt like that after my protein shake but I think I had it too fast

Nerdippy · 07/06/2025 22:40

Took my first jab tonight, spent ages watching the instruction video and doing everything shown. The needle was painless which was a relief! Looking forward to a lighter life....!

healthjourney · 07/06/2025 23:08

I've just taken my first injection, well done to everyone else who got over the fear and took theirs today too. And thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences so far, it's been super helpful 😊

ThisNeedsToWork · 07/06/2025 23:33

Just done my first injection tonight! @Nerdippy and @healthjourney, looks like we’re jab buddies! 😆 I can’t believe how nervous I was! Wish I’d done it this morning but it’s done now. I’m mainly worried about being sick or feeling very sick but also needing to run to the loo as I teach juniors and can’t just leave the room. Good luck everyone!

Xmasfairy86 · 08/06/2025 00:46

Just did my second jab. Have had a proper food evening with an 8 course tasting menu 🤦🏽‍♀️😂 it was delicious - hoping not to have undone the first weeks success, might lower overall calories slightly each day to make up for any indulgence today saw

welcome all new jabbers!

cigarsmokingwoman · 08/06/2025 07:15

w2d1 and I've lost 6lbs. I still don't know how much of that is the jab or just consciously trying to eat less. I'm going to stick with it but I hope I see / feel more impact when I move up a dose.

Bruicer · 08/06/2025 07:48

Took first jab yesterday . It was so much easier than I thought.

Appetite already dropped and I didn't like my lemon Fanta zero.

W16.13

Size 20

My main aim is to get back to a size 16.

UglyBastardFace · 08/06/2025 07:53

Question to those on second jab, do you have to prime the pen every time you use it?

Beeneatingsomemousse · 08/06/2025 07:54

I will be due my second jab today. There have been no side effects.

I am doing it with Juniper.

My start weight last Sunday was
14st 12.6lb
my current weight is
14st 1.3lb

That’s a loss of 11.3lb. I am quite relieved to be heading out of the 14 stone zone as I couldn’t quite believe that I was so heavy - my weight seemed to shoot up in a couple of weeks. I am 5 ft 7, and have just ballooned in the last couple of years.

Yes, I think so. I did anyway

That's an amazing loss! Well done!

I've decided to incorporate some fasting into my weight loss. Sipping on a black tea. Not quite the same but not terrible. Will plan for lunch around 1pm

UglyBastardFace · 08/06/2025 07:53

We had the same dilemma on Friday night doing our second. We primed just like the first.

LongGinShortTonic · 08/06/2025 08:31

There’s some amazing losses being posted, gives me hope for tomorrow’s official first WI - yes, I have sneaky peaked but mostly I’m happy to have stayed the same for the last 3 days, it’s been a much more realistic version of my life with friends and going out etc so I can maintain that at a lower weight it would be brilliant. There’s a trip out today and Cornish pasties for lunch - I’ve factored that into my eating plan for the day, and am quite looking forward to it.

@Booklover2021 i am a nightmare for eating too quickly and also for not drinking enough water, so I will try really hard on that side today and see if it helps, thank you. Will keep an eye on fats too.

ShakespearesSisters · 08/06/2025 08:47

Definitely prime each time. It's there to stop you injecting air and potentially giving you an embolism or something awful.
Air will have settled in the needle since your last injection. The bubble of fluid on the tip shows it has all been pushed out.

moremoremores · 08/06/2025 08:50

I thought the instructions said only prime for new pen?

ThisNeedsToWork · 08/06/2025 08:54

Sorry for silly question but what do you all mean by priming the pen? Is that the twisting of it?

UglyBastardFace · 08/06/2025 09:04

ThisNeedsToWork · 08/06/2025 08:54

Sorry for silly question but what do you all mean by priming the pen? Is that the twisting of it?

It's the initial twisting , when you twist just past the 0 and push down to get rid of any air. A bit of liquid should get expelled out too.

loopylou459 · 08/06/2025 10:07

Just did my first weigh in and about to do my second jab.

Only lost 2lbs but I'm trying to stay positive and remember this is meant to be a starting dose and you don't necessarily get great results on 2.5mg. And even if I just lose 2lbs per week that's still 8lbs by the end of month 1 - which is more than I've ever managed by myself. And then hopefully it will speed up a little bit when I step up to 5mg.

flameprincess · 08/06/2025 10:09

W1D6 Period has started today and has hit me like a truck, feel way more bloated than normal dont know if its down to jabs or new diet.

Edited

Sorry to be dumb: So last night I took my first one and twisted it from zero to 1 and then pushed in my leg. Next week, will I twist it to one again? And then I need to push down a bit before putting it in my leg, is that right? Should I have pushed down a little last night before injecting?
I did read the instructions but obviously missed that bit.

Dellabella83 · 08/06/2025 10:13

The private gp I’m doing this through went through a thorough demo and stated it only needs to be primed on the first jab of each new pen
