Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

I've found I have less cravings and could look a burger or cake & be non plussed but if I have a bite food tastes just as good.

MontysMum909 · 07/06/2025 15:00

Hi June Jabbers, I am week 1 day 4. So far the only side effects have been been feeling cold, tired and thirsty BUT I haven’t had appetite or food suppressing either. I would have worried I had done the jab wrong apart from I have lost 6 lbs!!!!! I did have a final ‘hurrah’ last weekend with takeaway and anything else I could shove on my gob so maybe that’s not real loss but either way I feel happy about what the scales are saying.
it will be interesting what jab 2 brings - hope I get the same loss of hunger as other posters on here.

Xmasfairy86 · 07/06/2025 15:08

This week I’m going to focus on upping my activity. Hoping to get back to the gym

suppression has definitely decreased today (due 2nd jab tonight)

@Tippgal Is trying new restaurants / local cuisine a big part of holidays for you? If so, I'd probably wait - the jabs dull the joy of food and drinks for me!

@Tippgal

I agree with this ^^ my eating has been functional this week since starting Monday so if a big part of your holiday [as it would be for me] centres around eating nice food and drinking nice wine, I would enjoy the holiday and start when you get back. Have a fab time x

Sideorderofchips · 07/06/2025 15:34

Hi all. Just ordered my first pen and waiting for it to arrive. I have about 6st to lose in total

nexttonormal · 07/06/2025 16:02

So 2KG off in the first week and second jab done. I feel like I've been lucky the first week in terms of side effects but I have been religious about my water intake and fibre as I'm terrified of migraines and constipation!

Feeling good on it, definitely hitting a minimum of 100g protein a day and 3.5l of water. I feel like the mounjaro is helping me stay on track with eating in a way that I know helps me lose weight by helping to stop snacking on junk alongside grasping the ability to say no when someone offers me a biscuit. I wouldn't say I've had the effects of not being able to stomach anything, but definitely starting to think about food as fuel.

Xmasfairy86 · 07/06/2025 16:25

TMI but I’m pretty sure it’s sweets that are upsetting my stomach. Haven’t had my usual 37294 bags 😂😂 but after a handful of squashies it was not a normal movement

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 07/06/2025 09:41

W1D2 (jabbed Thursday Eve)
Still feeling hungry for meals but can’t eat much but weirdly then feel unsatisfied afterwards but don’t fancy eating anything. I was really good with my protein yesterday so going to try and keep that up
Again, effects subtle and could be placebo!

Same as me, although I felt a little nauseous this morning that’s the only side effects so far 🤞

FirstDayonthePlanet · 07/06/2025 17:56

Can you be immune? 😂

6pm, day 2 after first jab, and I’m ravenous, light headed and absolutely forcing myself not to eat the chocolate rice crispie bites on the side. So just like I would be on a ‘will power alone’ diet.

my TDEE is 1278 calories, I’ve had porridge breakfast, pasta lunch (leftovers) and apple + banana snacks so wouldn’t say I’m overly restricting food, I’m not surviving on lettuce leaves or anything.
desperately waiting for dinner (chilli) to be ready before I pass out :(

definitely not feeling appetite suppression nor aversion to any foods.

can anyone offer reassurance please 🙏🏼

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 07/06/2025 18:04

Well done to all of you, some fab losses 🥰 I took my second dose last night. On day five and six on week one I wasn't hungry as such, but I wanted to binge. I refrained, but I did eat a few snacks; handful of popcorn, crisps and several olives. Random I know, but my head was going on so much at me. 😒I lost 4 lbs in my first week, ☺️ I feel lighter and some trousers that were tight a couple of weeks ago now fit so NSV 🙃 Best of luck 👊 we've got this!

2.5mg is not a therapeutic dose, it is completely normal not to feel suppression at this dosage level although it can be disheartening. Once you move up a dose things will definitely change you just need to hang on in there at the beginning. Its entirely possible that subsequent 2.5mgs will impact you. When i did a month back in October i had no suppression to begin with but it built

ThisNeedsToWork · 07/06/2025 19:25

Hi, am I too late to join? I’ve had mine sat in the fridge for a week whilst I contemplate whether I can cope with the inevitable sickness (I am a very sickly person pregnancy and travel sick etc) I also teach full time in a primary school so worried about the inability to leave my 10yr olds to run to the loo. But…I’m 14 stone 5lbs and only 5ft 4 so getting too heavy to be comfortable. If this doesn’t work I’m seriously considering a gastric bypass. I’ve been for a private consultation and he approved me but obviously I want to explore all other options before taking that drastic step. Any tips or advice would be gratefully received. Thanks!

Thank you for this, yes I need to look at the long term here, I think I’ve just read too many posts about people seeing near immediate results. But I’m quite happy to go slow and steady if it works in the long term.

YourPerfectCousin · 07/06/2025 20:03

@Shwingbada I'm using MFP with my Garmin watch and it's working well. It adds in your activity calories as well if you are counting those.

YourPerfectCousin · 07/06/2025 20:06

It's also carried calories and weight over from MFP to the Garmin app.

Sam187 · 07/06/2025 20:14

Hey all, I'm W1D5... Weighed this morning and was 2.6kg down so far. Will wait to see what it is on D7 for a fair representation of the week ☺️.

I ate out on Thurs eve and it was tapas, so easy to do on small plates. I also went out for lunch and a couple of drinks with my friend today (it was planned for a while). I thought about being sober but decided to have a couple. Had 3 proseccos and a wine, then knew when to stop. Not usually the case 😂. Also didn't come close to finishing the fries with my meal and let the guy clear the table without feeling like I was missing out.

I'm gonna drink water with electrolytes when I'm home and hope that there are no side effects tomorrow and that I haven't undone the progress so far.

I do this too. I find 1200 too low, I feel hungry and light headed so I use the adjusted calories linked to my activity. It's leaving me with aroynd 1500-1600 at the moment whilst I can't walk very much. I lost 4lbs in my first week eating those calories so will be following that as long as it works. It might mean slower losses but as long as it's a loss I won't mind!

UglyBastardFace · 07/06/2025 20:22

Well took me first injection. Had to prime twice but needle was painless.

To a lighter life!

Dellabella83 · 07/06/2025 20:24

Hey everyone! Just found this thread as I’m about to inject for first time 😬. Been thinking about starting for about year and now taking the plunge. I’m currently 19st 2lb and in my forties so it’s now or never to be a healthier me for me and my family. Tried all the usual diets in the past but the food noise always won in the end. Going for low carb high protein and have a new water bottle on standby. Glad to have found this thread for support 😊

KillerMounjaro · 07/06/2025 20:44

W1D6. I’ve been really hungry all day. Just had dinner - salmon, whole grains, edamame beans, roasted tomatoes, broccoli. I still feel hungry now and I had loads!

I’m not craving anything unhealthy though, so that’s good. I don’t remember feeling this hungry in my whole life though, physically, but even then I’m not really bothered whether I eat anything. It’s weird. Hopefully after I have my second jab tomorrow I will go back to not hungry again…

Still on 9lbs lost this morning, so that’s good anyway

Oldlady62 · 07/06/2025 20:57

Lost 3lbs so far. Got loads of energy .have cleaned house and did loads of gardening lastv2 days.
Is this usual ?

Booklover2021 · 07/06/2025 21:23

Week 1 over, jabbed 2nd dose last night. As well as slimming world, doing my own weigh in and total loss week 1 is 8lbs, very happy. Even been back to the gym this week, and intense Zumba class this morning! For everyone considering jabbing and a bit hesitant, I'm so glad I did it. I'm eating healthier than I have in years and no desire to overindulge, have seconds, or eat crap. OH ordered a maccy ds brekkie this morning and id usually be all over it but genuinely didn't even fancy it so had a protein shake instead!

LongGinShortTonic · 07/06/2025 21:29

Anyone got any idea how long the feeling cold and intense tiredness will last? I’m on W1 D5 and I’ve had to retreat to bed with a hot water bottle.

Feeling horribly bloated and uncomfortable, I’ve had 1250 calories today but I can’t lie down without feeling sick. Dinner was a single serving (was hello Fresh so made one meal and it’ll do me for 2 days) and I’d have been hungry if I hadn’t finished it I think. Do I need to split my portions up more?

However, it’s totally worth it to see the scales dropping and knowing that it’ll not be too long before it passes.

My mum said she noticed a huge energy surge in my dad when he started MJ. He keeps busy usually but often stops mid task for a kip or a rest but she said she really noticed a difference.

I've also felt a bit more energy too!
