Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Is anyone else suffering with restless painful legs as a side effect? I had this at the start of menopause but it's not been an issue for a couple of years. Not sure if it's Mounjaro or coincidence that it's reappeared this week.

W1d6 today
Sw 101.15kg
Cw 92.25kg
Gw 60kg

I'm pretty hungry this morning so thinking of bringing my jab back to Friday morning instead of Friday night

I'm still weighing every day, and probably will next week too, just so I can see my fluctuations.

I seem to get a little heavier after my days in work which involve very long hours on my feet. My feet and ankles end up quite swollen and sore at the end of a run of shifts so I strongly suspect that blip is retained water

I feel like even if I eat quite a bit more today and tomorrow I'll be very happy with my loss this week, almost a stone off, 13lbs, so far!

13 pounds in a week!! That's amazing! I'm trying not to get my hopes up for my weigh in tomorrow.

User99999999 · 05/06/2025 10:05

Ive managed to force down some salted popcorn and I’m sipping on electrolytes. I do feel slightly better! Im at work so just about holding it together 😂 😭

I'm not expecting anything like the same sort of loss next week! I started Friday which was also the first day of my period so I was very bloated so I think a lot of it must be water weight, still I'm quite blown away though myself tbh.

The only other time I lost so much weight so quickly was when I had pneumonia, not a route I'd recommend...

I'd be quite happy with 2lbs or around 1kg a week going ahead I think. I have a very long way to go still but it finally feels like it might be doable

I’m still waiting for my juniper consultation. How long did it take for everyone else doing juniper?

Sam187 · 05/06/2025 11:23

Do we count the day of the jab as a day (if it's in the evening?).

Well done on all the losses so far - everyone seems to be smashing it.

I haven't had any nausea with this, but when I did post surgery previously, peppermint tea really helped.

@SusanSHelit that's an incredible loss for your first week. How many calories are you having a day? I'm sticking between 1100-1200. Have lost so far, but will wait til week end to calculate how much. I only had my first jab on Monday evening.

@Xmasfairy86 I had mine on Monday evening about 10.15pm - I had eaten late (around 8.45pm) so left an hour and a half between then slept through. Didn't feel any bad SEs. Maybe just give it some time in between and you might be grand.

It's funny you say this - since Monday night I've woken in the night every night, complaining that my right leg hurts! I've never had restless legs and haven't had any injuries of late.

Lost 4lb last week. I have lost that before on week one of various diets, but it has never been this easy. I have been feeling great. Having ate a late meal early in the week, I learned not to as that uncomfortable full/bloated feeling is more manageable if its walked off.

SomethingAboutYou · 05/06/2025 12:06

@Sam187 I started at 7pm on a Friday so decided to count Saturday as my day 1. Will weigh tomorrow morning and 2nd dose tomorrow evening. Actually, now that I write that down I feel like it's all muddled 🫠 Doesn't matter, I basically weigh on day 7 and take the dose evening of day 7 and start a new week the next morning.

SusanSHelit · 05/06/2025 12:21

@Sam187 I really struggled to hit even 1000 the first couple of days, suppression was pretty immediate. I have adhd and so if I don't get that uncomfortably hungry feeling I forget to eat. I since set alarms on my phone to remind me to eat small amounts more often and have been between 1200 and 1600 the last 2/3 days

Tinybirdie · 05/06/2025 12:22

Sneaked a weigh in a day early. Lost 8 pounds. I'm absolutely delighted. I've never managed this before! Weight loss is feeling achievable.

@SomethingAboutYou That makes sense, I started Monday night, so was counting Tues as Day 1 - which would make me W1D3. Perfect :) I'll be weighing a Monday morn and taking the next one Monday eve too. That will hold me accountable over the wknd if the suppression starts to fade any.

@SusanSHelit That makes sense, my suppression was quite quick too, and I've had to force myself at usual intervals to have my meals. I've just been conscious to keep it within a manageable amount that I can get used to even after I stop MJ. 1200-1400 a day is my target for now.

@Tinybirdie well done on the loss! That's amazing. Definitely motivates to keep going eh?

notagainyoufool · 05/06/2025 13:09

There’s some great losses so far. I’m feeling I have more food noise today, I haven’t had the chance to eat much so far today so that could be why.

ArwenStewQueen · 05/06/2025 13:24

shifting12345 · 05/06/2025 11:04

I’m still waiting for my juniper consultation. How long did it take for everyone else doing juniper?

It took 2 weeks from ordering to consultation to delivery - keep an eye on messages as they had to ask me a few things to proceed. I also sent a few emails to hello@juniper which seemed to speed things up a bit and they refunded me some money 🙌

ToddlerMumma · 05/06/2025 13:26

I’ve just had lunch (chicken & bacon pasta salad and a satsuma) and now I have a headache. Could that be because I just ate or was it the carbs? I’m off to drink more water now in case it’s that

Potterson13 · 05/06/2025 13:32

2nd day for me today. I’m going to do it this evening when I get home from work. We’re going away tomorrow with my friend and her child until Monday so it’ll be interesting to see how I fare. I also forgot to weigh this morning after a stressful morning with the kids so might have to do it tomorrow. Oops!

Food noise is definitely back, but not feeling hungry so managing not to give in and snack. I suppose it’s teaching me that I don’t always NEED food when I think about it.

Fab losses, glad you are doing so well! 😃 Any other new starters reading and want to join? 😊

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 05/06/2025 14:00

That is what I am feeling at the moment Potterson13, thinking about it but meh not bothered. It is something I have never experienced before. 🤔

Idratherbebythecoast · 05/06/2025 14:10

Week 1 done and I’m 9lbs down! Can’t quite believe it as I’ve still had 3 meals a day but I’ve not wanted to snack or supplement my meal with crisps/chocolate/garlic bread etc! So clearly I was overeating quite a lot beforehand. Feel like my head is clear for the first time in forever- I can actually make decisions and am having much more productive days. Thankfully no SE so far but I’ve been fastidious about water intake, electrolytes and vitamins as well as eating healthily. Onwards and downwards!

EmmaPoppins · 05/06/2025 15:16

Wow @Idratherbebythecoast 9lb is amazing, you must be thrilled! Thanks for sharing, very inspiring.

I had my first injection on Monday, so far so good here, like you, sticking to healthy meals and drinking a lot of water, I've not taken any vitamins but logging my food on the Voy app and trying to hit the magic protein goals. I've also joined a gym and started swimming, feel really 'in the zone'. Like you said onwards and downwards!

Have had some questionable bowel movements today, hoping it isn’t a lasting effect.

@ArwenStewQueenThanks! Mines on its way now and DH is asking if he can join. He’s ordered from Asda and was hoping to beat me to it!

Some really incredible numbers, well done everyone!

Me too! My poop was very thin and came out in small bits at a time. I know. TMI. But I'm a nurse and can do poop chat whilst I eat! I've started psyllium husk hoping I can bulk things up

didiimaginethis · 05/06/2025 17:57

I feel so tired today, has anyone else experienced this as a side effect or maybe I'm just not eating enough? Problem is I don't feel hungry....

Booklover2021 · 05/06/2025 18:08

Jab due tomorrow. No SE this week but a banging headache today. Wonder if that's an effect at the end of the week? Had loads of water x
