Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

I forced myself to finish my soup, maybe I shouldn't have done that! Just want the weight loss to be sustainable

SusanSHelit · 04/06/2025 20:36

@ToddlerMumma hummus and pepper! Fab idea thank you! I have half a bell pepper I need to use before it goes wrinkly and some very nice caramelised onion hummus

5 days in and the appetite suppression is good. Mid morning I get peckish but it goes away after a big cup of tea and buckets of water. I had to meet someone in a cafe today. Would usually have a skinny cap but was quite happy with black americano. I’ve done just over 10k steps each day which I’m pleased with (not been walking much due to a foot problem but it’s on the mend. Really interested to see weight loss after 7 days.

well done everyone!

Although I do find the many many many trips to the toilet are upping my in house steps this week 😂😂

Ha!! My step count has defo increased from this too!!

It’s amazing how much can change in a week - this time last week I was SO worried about my first jab and potential side effects and going to the office next day. Today I am SO excited to take my second dose tomorrow! This is a wonder drug in how it makes me feel!

Guys I’m feeling really nauseous and I’m struggling to find ways to manage is. Feel like I’m constantly on the verge of throwing up. Has anyone found a way of managing it? I’m doing all the stuff recommended, small bland meals (I’ve barely eaten anything tbh), sipping water, ginger tea, probiotics, fresh air etc

Any thoughts?

notagainyoufool · 04/06/2025 21:31

I haven’t managed to do much exercise wise. I’m currently on maternity leave, but I am constantly on the go, so I guess that counts too.
I’ve found I haven’t had the evening craving for a wine too, which is a nice side effect from the mj. I’ve just ordered my next batch of jabs, although I need to submit my pictures.

There’s a Facebook page called Weight Loss Meditation Support U.K. which is really helpful. Someone was saying similar to your post yesterday and they said she really ought to either contact the pharmacist that prescribed the meds or their gp. But there are lots of people on the May thread that have ridden it out. Hope you feel better soon.

Has anyone jabbed in the arm? I have multiple sclerosis and currently having a flare up, both legs and up to my belly button are extremely extremely sensitive. I know the needle is super fine but even lightly brushing with a fingertip is agony. Im jabbing tomorrow and thinking my arm might be a better bet

I haven’t, but it’s one of the places they say you can inject, so shouldn’t be a problem.

When did you inject?
Small regular meals even when you don't feel like it.
Drink lots.
You could try something like pepto bismol or piriton which has anti nausea properties

Lavenderosemary · 04/06/2025 22:01

W1D2....feel like i could sleep a lot. Disinterest in food kicked in at some point this afternoon.

I've just been referred urgently to the breast clinic. Do you think being on these will matter? I haven't told anyone including my GP...

Lola528 · 04/06/2025 22:17

Hi everyone! Would love to join you.

53F
SW 104kgs
GW 75kgs and then see how I feel

After much deliberation (pen in fridge a few days) I took my first jab tonight (made Hubby do it as I was so nervous).

Got around 5 stone to lose which I lost/gave away back in 2021 on Keto but since piled it all back on. Tried to do Keto again but just wasn’t working as well second go around so now trying MJ.

Like lots of you, am in menopause so losing weight has been a struggle! Not a good sleeper and so take prescribed antihistamines to help with that some nights but hoping MJ may also help - time will tell!

Good luck in your journeys!

xx

I personally would tell them lovely. It's maybe not relevant but I'd want them to know everything to support their decisions.
I've been referred twice and both times it was nothing to worry about. Let us know how you go x

BadgerFace · 05/06/2025 06:52

After last night’s excitement I am feeling a bit flat after this morning’s weigh in as I am a pound heavier than two days ago… I know I shouldn’t have done a mid-week weigh as I also know that 4 pounds lost in a week is great but now I feel a bit meh!

SW 12 stone 2
CW 11 stone 12
GW Not sure I’ve really thought about this!

I’ll do my second jab this morning once everyone’s gone to school. And give myself a pep talk later to find the excitement again!

OhMyEarsAndWhiskers · 05/06/2025 07:11

W1D5 and I am noticeably more hungry than previous days. Still keeping on track with food but it’s taking a conscious effort to put that square of leftover chocolate in the bin instead of in my mouth. Looking forward to that second jab in a couple of days.

Only on Tuesday, in the afternoon. Got some liquid gaviscon on the go. That’s a good idea about piriton. I also have travel sickness tablets thinking about it, maybe they will work.

Woken up feeling slightly less nauseous but moving around, thinking about food or (weirdly) feeling any anxiety or stress triggers it. I got through the night by just focussing on my breathing and did drift off.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence and I’m ill with a virus or something.

Have no idea what to eat but know I need to..

theaveragewife · 05/06/2025 07:45

I’ve read that electrolytes can help if you are nauseous, do you have some @User99999999 ? Might be worth a try. So as not to forget I have 5 x electrolytes, 5 x collagen sachets and pack of vitamins to take on my office desk.

I have a celebration lunch out today with friends at a lovely Italian restaurant. Usually it would be champagne, starter, wine, pasta, dessert and maybe an espresso martini! I might have a small glass of wine and salad, a bit nervous about this one. I’m also constantly going for a wee, not enjoying the night time wake up.

User99999999 · 05/06/2025 07:48

Yes I have electrolytes too, thank you will try them!

Radiatorvalves · 05/06/2025 07:59

I’m not generally suffering from nausea but feeling slightly sick now - have eaten breakfast with DS (doing an A level today) and had more than I should have done. Perhaps a sort of warning to stop eating? Am hoping it wears off soon.

Rockfordpeach · 05/06/2025 08:00

Coconut water contains lots of electrolytes which might help.

When i was pregnant i used to have sweets called gin gins which helped nausea. I think can get them on amazon

Same here. DH bought doughnuts yesterday, the arse. I actually felt hungry in the night for the first time last night.

However I weighed myself this morning and I've lost 7 lbs since Saturday!

I've been having a fruit smoothie made with Greek yoghurt and seeds for breakfast but MyFitnessPal is whinging about the sugar content - any ideas how to bring that down?

MsRinky · 05/06/2025 08:20

Jab 2 done! Am down 2kg since J1, but down 3.8kg since the previous Tuesday, I did a couple of days on plan to prepare for the jab. Nothing much in the way of side effects, was a bit tired initially, but I have managed an average of 12k steps per day for the week, plus 4 gym sessions and one yoga class. No booze, no snacks, no sweets. And it was EASY. I feel superhuman!

Am at a music festival on Saturday which would usually mean drinking pints for 8 hours punctuated by a pizza at some point. So that’s going to be interesting, I currently have zero desire to drink booze. I do sober gigs all the time (driving) but a sober all-dayer will be a first…

Xmasfairy86 · 05/06/2025 09:24

W1D5 (I think!)
stomach making all sorts of gurgling noises this morning, no idea what that’s all about!

had a few sweets yesterday and was able to stop after a few, normally I’d eat both bags with room for more 😂🐷

going for food Saturday evening, due to jab Saturday evening, don’t want to overeat but also don’t want to not eat!

Do I jab before or after? Heard horror stories of jabbing after big/rich meals!

SomethingAboutYou · 05/06/2025 09:32

Wow the losses have been great! Well done!

No advice on the nausea front as haven't had it yet and the last time I had nausea (pregnancy) I stopped it with a constant stream of ginger buscuits and that's not helpful here is it 😂 hope you find something that works soon, nausea is miserable.

@MsRinky let us know how you get on with the all dayer. I have a bottomless brunch next month which I'm hoping to enjoy with a few drinks but we'll see how I'm feeling by then, I might opt for the 0% drinks if I'm not feeling it. I haven't been out out in months (broke my leg 3 months ago!) so I'm aiming for the brunch to be able to walk properly and enjoy a childfree and no leg drama day!! 🤞

SusanSHelit · 05/06/2025 09:53

W1d6 today
Sw 101.15kg
Cw 92.25kg
Gw 60kg

I'm pretty hungry this morning so thinking of bringing my jab back to Friday morning instead of Friday night

I'm still weighing every day, and probably will next week too, just so I can see my fluctuations.

I seem to get a little heavier after my days in work which involve very long hours on my feet. My feet and ankles end up quite swollen and sore at the end of a run of shifts so I strongly suspect that blip is retained water

I feel like even if I eat quite a bit more today and tomorrow I'll be very happy with my loss this week, almost a stone off, 13lbs, so far!

That’s amazing! How many calories are you aiming for each day? I don’t think I am having enough hence I have not lost much so far but only on W1D4.
