Hi everyone!

I started MJ around this time last year, but due to costs and unforeseen family circumstances, I fell of the band wagon and took about 6 months off. I’m now a stone heavier than I was. I am back and ready to go again. First pen, back to 2.5mg, arriving tomorrow or Friday.

I found the last thread I was on very supportive so wondered if there’s a few people around who want to join me!

Has anyone jabbed in the arm? I have multiple sclerosis and currently having a flare up, both legs and up to my belly button are extremely extremely sensitive. I know the needle is super fine but even lightly brushing with a fingertip is agony. Im jabbing tomorrow and thinking my arm might be a better bet

User99999999 · 04/06/2025 17:37

W1D2, feeling rather nauseous today. Struggling to even think about food, let alone eat it. But when I do force some food down the nausea goes away for a few minutes. But I’m seeing this as a positive sign that it’s having an effect!

Can I ask what is everyone is doing regarding events such as weddings, meals out and birthdays? My pen has arrived but I wasn’t going to start until next Monday as I have something planned for the weekend. However, I’m impatient and am itching to get started!

Good question. I have a wedding on 14th. I was going to move my injection forward next week by a few days so that may suppresion would be lifting a little so I could enjoy the wedding meal. I know I will eat less but I don’t want to be at the stage of not feeling like eating anything

Spinningplates22 · 04/06/2025 17:59

Also how has everyone been doing on their steps and activity? I have been shockingly bad as I have been sick but as my cold is lifting I’m hoping to get moving and active from the end of the week

NeedyTiger · 04/06/2025 18:11

Day 6 and im struggling with fatigue today although I'm also due my B12 injection this month so that won't be helping but iv been trying hard not to nod off all day and also I think the cravings for snacks are creeping back in , I'm trying hard but today has been tough urghh.

Booklover2021 · 04/06/2025 18:12

Just had my weigh in, since Friday night when I had my first dose, I've lost 6.5lbs!

Seriestwo · 04/06/2025 18:16

I am working this weekend and there won’t be much down time - so I think I’ll leave starting the jab until Sunday. I think that’s sensible - it feels like a lot to get my head around

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 04/06/2025 18:18

Hi 👋
I started last Friday evening and so am on Wk 1 day 5. I feel fine, no apparent side effects. It is odd though I am interested in food, but yet I'm not. So, so weird. I am eating because I know I have to do, but smaller portions. No signs of it wearing off yet which is good. I weighed myself this morning and it looks like 4.2 lb off so far.
4 ft 10/11 need to find this out 😂
166.4 lb starting weight (around 12 stone) want to lose about 3. I lost 2 by myself, put half a stone back on then thought enough!! I'll see where this journey takes me.

moremoremores · 04/06/2025 18:25

I'm feeling very full today & not managed much for dinner. Going to try and have some soup.

moremoremores · 04/06/2025 18:26

Also how has everyone been doing on their steps and activity?

Haven't managed anything, too tired

I've been going out in my lunchtime and having a walk. I'm office based so only get a few thousand steps in up and down the stairs answering the door etc. I aim for as many as I can during working week. Thinking of investing in a new exercise bike. This week I have done around 10,000 a day.

Elsiedarlingputthekettleon · 04/06/2025 18:29

Even walking in place briskly and swishing your arms is better than nothing. Make a cup of tea and waltz about a bit 😆

WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLady · 04/06/2025 18:32

My pen and kit arrived from Juniper yesterday. It’s sitting in the fridge with use by date of Feb 2026 and I’m wondering whether I will have been brave enough to do it before it expires.

ToddlerMumma · 04/06/2025 18:36

@WeirdyBeardyMarrowBabyLadymine sat in the fridge for over a week before I took the plunge!! I wish I’d done it sooner now. Take the plunge, we’re with you!

I've hit my step target every day for the last 30 days. Unheard of. I wanted that habit in play before I started MJ, so that I'd then just keep it going, increasing the target as I go.

I'm gonna give it a few more wks of steps and golf, then get back to the gym.

You can do it, start a little less and build up ☺️ I started at 6k steps, increased to 7k now I'm averaging just under 8k a day over the wk xx

Hi ladies can I join? I just took my first dose today and was soon nervous about it. Long story short I've piled on over 2 stones in just under a year due to being pregnant then losing my son (born sleeping) at 17 weeks...so I think a lot of comfort eating/stress.
I bit the bullet an bought the pen in a moment of self loathing and pity, I really cant stand how I look and it's affecting my relationship with my husband and son.
Hoping to see a good loss to help pull me out of my funk!
Sorry for the downer message, I've just not told anyone I'm on it and this is my only outlet x

I'm so sorry about your son. Your heart must be so sore xx

Yay! Whoop! That's an amazing loss.

Same here. I have started utilising my lunch hour to walk. Monday I did 3.75km and today 4.6km, trying to find a route that’ll get me to 5km. I can easily only do 1500/2000 steps a day on work days as I have to drive so I can get the kids afterwards so walking there isn’t an option for me.

I had my first jab yesterday evening - had to get my OH to do it for me as I was so nervous!
So I suppose I'm Wk1D1, feel OK but had to force myself to eat as I had no urge or hunger. Had some porridge for breakfast and then nothing until about 3.30-4.00 when I ate a sandwich and veg. Very strange feeling to have no desire to eat.

Booklover2021 · 04/06/2025 20:03

So it's been a good week on MJ but tonight is the first time I've felt "wow!". I treated myself tonight and ordered from a local Indian. Old me would've had: lamb tikka masala, a huge naan and rice. Would've polished the lot and possibly later picked at any leftovers on my OHs plate.

Tonight: a thin chapati, managed about 4 cubes of dry lamb tikka and 2 cubes of paneer. Absolutely full and OH is eating my leftovers 😂

SusanSHelit · 04/06/2025 20:04

I'm end of day five now and starting to feel the hunger return. I'm sitting at sub 900 calories at the moment today so I'm trying to figure out what I can eat for around 100/150 that will take the edge off. Dreading day 6 hunger ruining the hard work I've put in this week!

Xmasfairy86 · 04/06/2025 20:08

Activity wise I aim for 10k steps a day but will take 65-70k for the week as yesterday I didn’t hit it. If I can do 3 x 30 min walks a day that should cover it. Or 2 x 45, but sometimes getting the motivation to leave my desk/house during the day (I WFH) is HARD!

I’m office based and also find leaving my desk hard. I’m in the bad habit of eating lunch at my desk and working through. We also have a communal “snack drawer” right behind me (which I’ve not dipped into this week -yay!)

Although I do find the many many many trips to the toilet are upping my in house steps this week 😂😂
