I could scream

DH just asked how much weight I've lost in the 4 weeks since starting this.

I said well I'll tell you tomorrow.

He said what's it up to now? 2 stone? More?

Ffs it's not even one stone.

He followed that with. "Are you eating too much?

Sorry I ever told him I'm doing this. He's such a bl**dy expert!

Oh my god.

I went to the gym class again. Five minutes into the warm up, did a jumping jack and as I landed, my knee dislocated.
It went back in but then when I tried to stand on it, the joint went straight out again.

I am so bloody upset and mortified and furious. Furious at myself for purring the weight on (that's not fair, stop that), furious at the universe maybe. I was doing all the right things! I could have stayed inside drinking heavily like a miserable little goblin and I didn't.

My partner came to get me and had to wheel me to the car in an office chair. Somehow I've hopped from the front door to the couch. My leg is AGONY.

I'm so miserable and angry.

I'm so sorry for the rant but I know you guys will get it. I need to get an x ray and from that determine a way forward. I'm hypermobile but my joints always go back in, it's just my hip that has hurt. Now my knee.

I know it's not productive, but I'm going to have a drink.

Oh no!! You poor thing - how bloody frustrating is that? Like you say, you're doing all the right things and you get a dislocated knee! Sending you a huge hug 🫂

They’re so annoying. Did he then tell you that you should just DRINK MORE WATER? 😬

Cucumberinginplease · 28/05/2025 22:10

@DidILeaveTheGasOn you poor thing!!!! 💐
I hate jumping Jack's, they are on a par with burpees I think. Evil things. I hope you feel better soon xx

Ah I'm sorry - how flipping annoying. And unhelpful!!

@SignedUpAgain i would have thought a stone was a fantastic result for 4 weeks, surely 2 stone wouldn’t be healthy (is it even possible??) Where has he got his expectations from!!?

my nemesis on weight loss is my mother, always makes passive aggressive comments about what I should / shouldn’t be eating. I haven’t told her about this. I swear these folks around us are all part of why we have ended up here.

GeraniumRoseblush · 28/05/2025 22:27

@DidILeaveTheGasOn ah dang, sorry to hear that! That's so frustrating for you. B*stard gym! Hope the drink has helped, and that the pain feels better in the morning 🤞

Seahorsesplendour · 28/05/2025 23:05

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I’m screaming for you!!! Firstly for the pain and secondly for the injustice!!!!! Hope you’ve managed to get some ice on it & that it settles down quickly!

ElsieJay · 29/05/2025 00:43

@DidILeaveTheGasOn - OMG I’m late to the party - well, not a party for you , you poor love !
Sending you ALL the drinks 🍷 🍸 🍹 🍺 and a hug, it’s so bloody unfair .

@SignedUpAgain - Fuming on your behalf!
You’re doing fantastically well.
Yet another reason why I’m not telling DH about the jabs. Hug to you too!

ElsieJay · 29/05/2025 00:45

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 like that old saying - “Hell is Other People”. 🤬🤬

notgonnafail · 29/05/2025 06:36

@DidILeaveTheGasOn Another hypermobile one here, too. I can dislocate or sublux on a completely flat floor not doing anything (or even lying still in bed) so I absolutely feel your pain. Hope it eases up quickly and that the 'medicine' didn't add to your woes!

Mounraine · 29/05/2025 07:34

Less than half a pound off this week. 😬 Time to hold my nerve.

Fedupoftheshits · 29/05/2025 07:41

Just done my weigh in for Week 1 and have lost 4lb.
SW: 13st 7lb
CW: 13st 3lb

I don’t think I’ve ever lost that in a week doing anything before so am pleased.

The side effects I’ve had this week are tiredness, weeing like a racehorse, and broken sleep. I had some nausea and weird feeling skin the day after my first jab but that soon went.

I’m hoping to do some ‘proper’ exercise next week but I’ve got a bad back so not sure what I’ll do.

Hope everyone is doing ok!

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 So true, I could have written those exact words. I still remember over 30 years ago when I returned home from living in Italy and had put weight on. My mother was on the phone to her sister talking about me, “She’s like a house end”. That’s stuck with me all these years. I’ve told nobody I’m doing MJ, I’m doing it just for me.

26dX · 28/05/2025 10:02

@GoldieLookingBootsi went from MedExpress to farmeci.com for my second pen as they were good with a discount! If you want one I can pm you it. But generally all ok as long as you have proof you’ve been on it! :)

Yes please! I'm on my first pen and anxious about how to swop suppliers 🙏🏼

26dX · 29/05/2025 08:03

@Mich57it's pretty straight forward don’t worry! I sent you a message x

Idratherbebythecoast · 29/05/2025 08:08

A bit late to the ‘May starters’ but I’ve just taken my first dose and I feel elated! So glad I’m finally ready to make some serious changes to my eating habits and lifestyle and hopefully drop some serious timber in the process! Been watching this thread for a while and loving hearing all your stories, advice and experiences. Keep going everyone!

26dX · 29/05/2025 08:11

@Idratherbebythecoast welcome! And good luck. X

SaintAgatha · 29/05/2025 08:14

@Merluzzo @ConfusedMiddleAger83 Oh God, the maternal judgement! Same here, just endless comments even though I was always a size 12 at my biggest, and she was and has always been overweight. I’m slowly unpicking the damage to my self-esteem and eating habits, but I had to get to middle age to do it.

Seahorsesplendour · 29/05/2025 08:30

@Idratherbebythecoast welcome to the club! Hope your first jab brings positive change!! I’ve just done my 4th and was strangely nervous today! No idea why 😅but carried on regardless going to go for the golden dose next week & hope it’s a bit bigger than 2.5 so can then decide what dose to take from pen 2!

did someone at sone point say how many mg in a ml it is ? I get how to count this clicks but not sure how to work out how many mg I’ve had from amount in syringe?

sorry if I’ve missed it!!!

Saturday is weigh day for me so we’ll see what wk 3 has done!

I feel a bit bloated this morning I shared a mocktail in pub last night so wandering if it was the sugar in that.

SignedUpAgain · 29/05/2025 08:53

4 weeks completed
6kg total lost (13.2lbs)

Starting the 5mg dose now as I didn't get too much side effects on the lower dose.

Well done to everyone

At this rate I probably need to stick on this for 6-8 months.

I originally said I'd do 6 months as a trial. I'm hoping for better health, less problems with my ankles and feet, and better mobility to get playing more sport.

And more self confidence in public. Because I've lost all that since being obese. Wasted 20+years of my life being heavy and miserable.

Seahorsesplendour · 29/05/2025 09:00

@SignedUpAgain i hear you!! You’re not alone in feeling like that!!

just praying this really is what it feels like and the next 20 look full of energy & movement!!!

wlinewbie0425 · 29/05/2025 09:01

@Seahorsesplendourto work out how much you’ve had in mg you need to work out the ratio of your dose vs normal 0.6ml dose then multiply by the pen strength in mg.

so for all the pens this is the volume actually injected divided by 0.6 then multiplied by pen strength in mg.

Eg, I got 0.72ml in my golden dose…

0.72/0.6 * 2.5mg =3 mg dose.

(some of the syringes use units to make the scale easier to read eg 0.6ml is 60 units, 0.72ml is 72 units)

Lefuzzy · 29/05/2025 10:18

W1D4 Update: All my aches and pains have turned out to be a flu or similar and I am so ill that I wonder if the MJ has exaserbated it, or I need to delay the second injection until fully recovered?

Fatrosrhun · 29/05/2025 10:45

Oh dear, hope you feel better soon. I’d wait and see how you are nearer the time of your next jab. I wouldn’t have thought it would affect it.
