@cherrybobbins that sounds tough I’m sorry! Hope it settles & you manage to get some sleep tonight!

Mounraine · 27/05/2025 21:29

@cherrybobbins that sounds really tough :( is there a day of the week that you can shift to? I hope it's out of your system and you're feeling better in the morning.

BerfyTigot · 27/05/2025 21:47

@cherrybobbins I have huge sympathy- i have had similar but have had success splitting the dose by counting clicks and having it twice a week. So you might not need to give up completely 🤞🤞🤞everything crossed for you.

Samuraipizzacat · 27/05/2025 22:05

I’m due my second jab tomorrow and I’ve felt hungry today for the first time. I’ve also been more tempted. I’m so worried about undoing all the work this week it’s helped me not tip into eating like I used to but I wonder if there’s any method in the last day of the week cycle being a bit like a cheat day, especially if I’m hungry. I’ve always felt the odd cheat day helps switch up your metabolism. I don’t mean go crazy but just maybe more than the 600 or so calories I only seem to manage normally.

GeraniumRoseblush · 27/05/2025 22:06

@Fatrosrhun I just type in 'Zumba dance workout free' and a variety come up - I've flailed around to this one before 🤣 -

You will be hungry if you’re only eating 600 calories. I think it’s good practice to have to use will power now and again - prep for coming off it one day. But if you’re only eating minuscule amounts it’s probably good to get the right amount of calories/nutrients if you’ve a day when you feel you can eat more.

“Flailed around”!!🤣. Thank you for that, I’ll have a go/wobble at it.

ThinkingaboutMJ · 27/05/2025 23:36

Well I took the plunge first dose today!
SW 15st 9

A bit anxious about side effects, I'm not at work this week but it's half term and we've got lots planned 🤦‍♂️

Mich57 · 27/05/2025 06:54

A friend had her calorie check up online as she hadn't lost for 3 weeks (but had lost inches) they concluded not enough food and especially protein. I'm aiming for 2-3 L of water and 100g protein with minimum carbs. Good luck, let us know how it goes! It must be incredibly frustrating 😖

Thank you very much. I am trying to keep the protein up but will take a closer look at the numbers.

FlorenceNightshade · 28/05/2025 06:05

Did my third jab last night after work. Down another Kg this week making 3 in total. Had a few family events last week and didn’t have a lot of suppression but did eat a bit less than I would have although I did tan a bottle of Prosecco!! Not feeling too bad about it though we have to live our lives right!

I have ordered a 5mg pen but think I will probably try 3.75 because I’ve had virtually no side effects but want to try a higher dose.

Didn’t manage to increase my exercise to include any weights just stuck with walking and a few runs as normal, really going to try this week to get some strength training in the books. I’m on nights again at end of the week so that might prove tricky but we’ll see - any other shift workers on this thread have any tips???? I try not to go to bed until I’ve done some sort of exercise after a night shift but sometimes it’s a struggle!

Hope everyone has a good week, onwards and downwards ✌️

MyScaredCat · 28/05/2025 07:09

Gutted
weigh day today and I’m up 1/2lb
i know I was within calories this week. Eating well. Lots of exercise as usual. Didn’t have the social occasions like I’ve had the past few weeks.
im trying to tell myself I’ve still lost 14.5lbs in 4 weeks which is fab. Really noticing a difference.
but why a gain 😩
I’m doing 5th dose today and have another 2.5 pen in fridge ready to go.
maybe I should have gone 5.
but I felt like I could control food ok with 2.5 and no side effects so didn’t want to.
i also haven’t 💩 all week, despite loads of water and even a laxative
sorry for the ramble, I’m so upset this morning

Morning! I’ve got my third weigh in on Sat & fully expecting the same despite a good week! Over a stone in 4 weeks is amazing!!!

there's a definite trend of wk 3-4 loses being less. We had some previous discussion about weight set point I think (or may have been another thread) where your body has to adjust to the next level down before it lets you loose more!! It’s all part of the process!

don’t despair and don’t doubt your previous decision just carry on as you are and in a few weeks you will undoubtedly be loosing again!!

and don’t forget the NSV’s!! I’m trying to shift my focus to them a bit now in preparation for less loss after my last 2 dramatic weeks!!

you’ve got this!!!

DBatteryBand · 28/05/2025 07:50

@MyScaredCat have you tried eating some prunes? Don’t despair - if you haven’t had a poo for a week you’ll probably lose about 5 lbs when it finally happens. Keep going! My new mantra, from reading this thread, is ‘trust the process’ - stick with it. Hope today is a better day for you.

MyScaredCat · 28/05/2025 07:59

Thanks
ive haven’t tried prunes. I add 2 teaspoons of inulin powder to my juice in morning which was doing the job until this week. I’ll try and up that this week.
im going to be positive. I’ve lost a stone and had a massive clear out of my wardrobe the other day. Stuff that was too big or I just didn’t love, but I won’t be that size again so no point holding on to it. It felt good. Holding off on holiday clothes shopping for another month and it will be exciting to pick smaller clothes.
for anyone who is worried about the 5th dose don’t be. Until pregnancy I fainted at needles. I was a bit concerned I wouldn’t manage it. Didn’t feel a thing.
onwards to week 5.
good luck everyone

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 28/05/2025 08:03

@MyScaredCat I had a conversation with a PT last week who said this often happens in weeks 3 and 4 of a healthy eating and exercising regime, because the body begins to gain lean muscle and lose fat. This is exactly what you want to happen as lean muscle burns more calories and helps to increase fat loss.
I've said this before on this thread so sorry for sounding like a stuck record, but we are not at war with our bodies. Your body is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing.

Please don't be upset. You're a muscly cat now.

MyScaredCat · 28/05/2025 08:06

my wobbly belly would disagree 🤣🤣

selfesteemsearcher · 28/05/2025 08:06

W2D6 weigh day checkin 😅 hope you’re all doing well, hello to all newer starters too. Hope all managing any side effects okay? 🩷 Week 2 started great for me, felt fine really, but come Friday I’ve had (tmi) upset stomach the whole time, I mean water 💩 constantly. My stomach has never liked ‘unhealthy’ food but more so now. I ate well before the jab, but always had a takeaway night a week. We have not stopped this, in the theory that if I stop the jab and reintroduce those kinds of things it will just reverse any affects I’d had, though it definitely does not like takeaway night even if I only eat 1/3 of it now 😂 I don’t have any cancelling out of food noise ect, my portion sized aren’t big anyway but I am eating less at meals for being full faster (which my husband says he concerned about) as sometimes I mange very little. I’d say I’m making the healthier choices with sheer will power on most part (purely because I don’t want waste the jab and the side effects be for nothing 😂)
Im drinking more water and added more walking in so moving more and feeling good for it. Not loosing mega amounts like you see, but also glad for that in a way as feel is more realistic and maintainable for me. I actually nearly lost exactly the same amount this week, to last, which is funny because they were definitely super different weeks 🤍 definitely noticed I’ve lost weight in clothes, abit gutted it seems most of it is coming off my boobs 😂😂 anyway—onto jab 3, hoping my tummy settles. Is there any tablet ect you can take to help with it atall? 💩

First week done and over 2kg loss. Though I’m sure it’s mainly water weight. The first 2 are always so easy to lose!

current
B 39.5
W 33.5
H 45

On to week 2!

GoldieLookingBoots · 28/05/2025 08:46

Hi I’ve been struggling to keep up with this thread, but really happy to read of people’s weight falling off and NSVs. Sorry to hear about horrible side effects some are having. For the 2 days after my 2nd jab, I struggled to eat anything, I had a nasty bitter taste in my mouth and could only manage fruit and protein shakes. I think, from what I’ve read, that it’s important to still try to get some nutrition in, so I’m aiming for 1200 - 1400 calories a day as I have a lot of weight to lose.
I’m thrilled that over the 2 weeks I’ve lost 9.5 lbs! I am getting constant emails from MedExpress telling me I need to order my next pen, but according to monj.co.uk they’re having supply issues. I might try another supplier, but I have 1 more dose in the pen after tonight’s jab #3, I need to keep costs down, but I’m scared of extracting and injecting the 5th dose. I’m also sceptical of ‘fly-by-night’ online pharmacies. Is anyone else changing supplier for each pen in order to get new customer discounts?

26dX · 28/05/2025 10:02

@GoldieLookingBootsi went from MedExpress to farmeci.com for my second pen as they were good with a discount! If you want one I can pm you it. But generally all ok as long as you have proof you’ve been on it! :)

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 28/05/2025 11:01

I had a great high protein breakfast this morning and I'm so stuffed. I'm not used to feeling like this now. Crikey. I do have gym class later on so it's going to help.

If you too want a high protein, low cal breakfast that makes you pat your tummy contentedly like a Grandad at Christmas, why not try:

3 Turkey rashers
2 Eggs
4 Asparagus spears (fancy)
A handful of cherry tomatoes

Calories: 270, Protein: a whopping 30.4g

So much protein! Fat cells hate this one neat trick!

Hysterectomynext · 28/05/2025 11:11

I started Mounjaro on May 1st.
The first few weeks were great. I lost 6kg.
the last 10 days I haven’t lost anything at all which is disappointing.

I’m exercising, eating at a calorie deficit and I have smart scales.

I’ve just increased the dose slightly for this week which is week 5.
I’m using 3.75 for the next 4 weeks then I’ll order the 5ml. I really hope I’m not stuck at this weight.
(I’m still in the obese category)

From what I’ve read, that’s à pretty good and normal loss for the first few weeks and it’s quite common to hit a plateau after three or four weeks. It might be that you need the next dose up, it might bump it going again. Are you definitely eating enough? Perhaps add in some more exercise? But if you look at the big picture you’re well on your way. (hope this doesn’t sound too patronising).

JunklessTrunk · 28/05/2025 11:19

‘Fat cells hate this one neat trick’ made me smile, thanks @DidILeaveTheGasOn 😁

W1D3 here and I’m second guessing everything. Am I hungry? Am I full? Is it working yet? I haven’t noticed any side effects. Or have I?

Managed to stick to a calorie deficit for the last three days and that’s the longest I’ve stuck at a diet in years!

No not patronising at all!

im just not clear how the dose will affect things but I feel very stupid to allow myself to get to this stage of obesity.

The first few weeks I wasn’t eating enough. I’m now eating a bit more. But still working towards weight loss diet.

I swim about four times a week and aerobics twice a week.

i really hope i can shift the weight
