Morning. Firstly sorry for your loss @OhPolly and echo the others sentiments about your wedding and your lovely dress ❤️. Welcome to all the newbies too!
I’m a bit disheartened this morning. I was away over the weekend so didn’t weigh myself yesterday (my usual weigh day), although I did take my 4th jab last night when we got in.
I’m now in WK4D2, weighed myself this morning and have put on 3lbs since last week’s weigh in!!
I actually had good suppression over the weekend surprisingly because those were W3D6 and W3D7 when it usually aren’t as strong. I was aware that I wasn’t drinking nearly enough water, had bread which made me bloated and the evening meals/drinks took me over my daily Kcal goal.
We did lots of walking, over 20k though so just disappointed with the 3lb gain.

SW 15st 3lbs
CW 15st

Bladder Olympics here!

Merluzzo · 27/05/2025 08:18

@Oysterblue Yes, I am. I had to get up 4 times the other night. I’m thinking about easing off on the water intake, but not sure if that’s ok to do.

Cucumberinginplease · 27/05/2025 08:31

@WhynotJanet. I understand how disheartened you must be. If you did lots of walking etc could it be water as the muscles hold on to it to help repair? Also, were you drinking less than normal? I'm away at the minute and I'm so aware that my water intake probably isn't as much as normal. And alo the nemesis that is bread...I always feel like a barrel when I eat more than a small wholemeal roll, but oh my, it's sooooo good! My husband was eating a pretzel roll at lunch yesterday and I did need will power not to saffle it from him! (Needless to say, my suppression is less this week!)
Try not to let it derail you, keep plodding on and I bet the scales will be kind next weigh day 💐

Seahorsesplendour · 27/05/2025 08:32

@Oysterblue @Merluzzo hold on in there I was like this for first 2 weeks! Settled down now in wk 3 - probably something to do with my big losses too!!

I added in electrolytes and reduced water intake a little (was aiming for 4l reduced to 3l ) and this did help a little ! But they are expensive! Still having them in morning though & suit me well!

Cucumberinginplease · 27/05/2025 08:35

I drink loads of water normally, my husband says I'm part fish. And yes, I wee all the time. It's a joke in our house that I'm always on the loo. It's a bit annoying, but people always comment on how good my skin is which I'm sure is due to water. So, basically, it's worth it!! Keep chugging! I do wish mind that there was an app. or something thay could tell you public toilet locations. Would make out and about in new places much easier!

stripesdotsdashes · 27/05/2025 08:36

Nearly at 4 weeks and checking in with progress after having a whinge last week that things were going slowly. Thrilled to see I've lost 7.5lbs in total! I'm nearing normal BMI but still at 36% body fat which is why I started this journey, to get this figure down to a healthy range (I use Renpho scales which measure it).
I've been away for the weekend and had a boozy night which I thought might derail things. However I still had appetite suppression, and drank more slowly than I would have.
I've been doing lots of exercise and making really good food choices. Had my first biscuit in forever yesterday, just one was enough though!
Had really bad constipation so I'm making huge efforts to drink lots of water.
@didileavethegason I am loving following your progress and updates, I'm trying to keep up with names and posts and yours stand out to me, really chuffed to hear youre enjoying the gym!
Keep going for everyone with slow progress so far, I can see this definitely works in the long run!

Is anyone else on HRT? And seeing any changes? I’m wondering if mines affected by Mounjaro?..

Fatrosrhun · 27/05/2025 09:08

W1D7 - first weight in and I’ve lost 6lbs. (I usually lose a lot the first week or two of a diet then it slows down, and I also have a lot to lose). I have had zero side effects but also very little suppression. The Voy AI chatbot (which I am in awe of because it’s just so useful and it feels like a real person) says that’s normal for many people at first and it should build up. But my willpower and focus has been mostly great (another thing that’s usually great for the start of my diets too!)

26dX · 27/05/2025 09:12

Week 4 done and a stone down! What is this sorcery 😂

Susan14 · 27/05/2025 09:31

Hi Everyone - Long time reader - first time poster.

Started MJ last week (2.5mg) and so now on W2D2.
SW - 180lbs,
End week 1 - 176lbs
My side effects have been minimal (burps and a bit out of it on Day 2.
Appetite suppression good but dropped off slightly on the 7th day and so I was ready to jab again.
I have jabbed both times into my thigh with no issues.

What I have come to realise is (and I appreciate that for many this may have been obvious) that it is still 100% about calories. The appetite suppression makes that an easier battle as not feeling hungry, not needing to snack, not thinking about food and feeling full quickly, all means that calorie intake is likely to be low enough the mean you eat less than you need and therefore lose weight.

My week1 looked like this:
One meal to cover breakfast / lunch - focus on protein.
Collagen powder in coffee each morning.
Fibre supplement to avoid constipation.
Normal family evening meal but with a much smaller portion.
No snacking (didnt want any) apart from 2 small squares of chocolate one evening which I was fully happy to stop with (prev would have eaten more)
Lots of walking - doubled my usual amount of walking
2 gym sessions.

So far I am a fan !

Good luck everyone xx

BerfyTigot · 27/05/2025 09:37

Tuesday weigh in, end of week 2

SW 102.2 kg
CW 98 kg
GW 79 kg

Interesting week but I'm staying with it! Not a huge loss this week but wasn't expecting it after the first week's whoosh, plus I'm a menopausal crone who does little exercise 😆

Thanks for everyone's support- really helps those of us who don't have much real life support.

Dutchhouse14 · 27/05/2025 09:53

Completed first week
SW 82.4kg
CW 80.5kg

Pleased with that as I haven't been good this weekend.
Felt mild supression/ low food noise on days 3 and 4. But rest of days no difference. Was being very good til weekend then it's went downhill.
Side effects wise
Had a bit of a head ache first day , mild indigestion on days 3 and 4 and woke up today a bit nauseous, not sure if that's because I had some treats at weekend, cake, chocolate and ice-cream (not all on same day!) would not normally make me feel sick thou!
Injection due tonight, I'm in London tomorrow and as I'm now feeling nauseous I'm started to feel worried about taking it as can't be ill tomorrow..

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 27/05/2025 09:56

W2D2 and nausea and sickness are kicking in. Feel like I have something stuck in my throat. I’ve had this before and I think it is related to indigestion (I’m very prone to reflux). Manageable but definitely feel sicky with it. Anyone experiencing this, does gaviscon help - I might buy some later.

Littledidsheknow · 27/05/2025 10:27

Just checking in. W1 D5

Have lost 5lb already, which seems a lot. I have a constant low level, nausea - not unbearable - that puts me off eating too much or too soon. Also hopped onto the treadmill a couple of times. I’m very pleased with how it’s going.

However there was some fresh homemade bread this morning, so I couldn’t resist a big wodge of toast with butter. I regret it now, but hey, I’m not a machine!

Well done on all your losses, everyone.

GeraniumRoseblush · 27/05/2025 10:48

@whattodoforthebest2 I hear you as I've definitely had some fatigue where I've had to force myself out for a walk. However I have a subscription to an online group aimed at women over 40 who do weights with an instructor on live zoom sessions a few times a week. These have been non-negotiables for me so i really agree with @DidILeaveTheGasOn that a class is the way forward. If its too much to find a local class, there are definitely options online, even dance fitness etc. Good luck in your search!

AlicesMum2025 · 27/05/2025 10:59

@FurryAnimal magnesium stopped my leg cramps. Bought them from Tesco for less than £4

Mounjaronew · 27/05/2025 11:25

I am with Voy and am happy with them. I am going to get the 5mg pen this coming month. In future months I would like to change to cheaper supplier but I am now below 30BMI. SW 12s 4lbs currently 11s 7lbs. At this rate I will be about 11s by end of next month (or less!) which is great. But do I need to stay with same supplier as I can’t prove I am over 30BMI?

SussexLass87 · 27/05/2025 11:50

Hi all...just wanted to say I'm loving reading everyone's updates and it's really helping me to keep focused on what's important. So, thank you ❤️

Raining here and I've promised the DC a McDonald's for lunch as a half term treat...even the idea of walking in there is making me feel queasy! Never thought anything would put me off a chicken nugget 🤣

I joined The Gym Group last year and they've been really good - not too "gym bros" - and only £26 a month. You get one PT session for free and he was great at gently showing me what to do.

Haven't braved a class yet; but really enjoying the X trainer and weights. I download a film onto my phone and happily watch that as I work out...makes the time go a bit faster 🤣

Thought I'd rise from the dead for a spot of lunchtime retail therapy 😁

I've just ordered this coat in a size 16 for later on in the year. Reviews suggest sizing up to allow for jumpers etc, so it's potentially 14-16. I'm a size 16-18 on top and an 18 on bottom. Could this fit by autumn?

I’m hoping it’s just water retention, coupled with drinking less and having booze. I have been avoiding bread since I started and was definitely bloated after eating it this last weekend. Thanks for the support and will definitely keep going.

Just checking in on this miserable, drizzly morning ( SW England ).
Welcome to new starters , and congratulations to all the losers - @26dX , that’s amazing ! 🧙‍♀️ ( wizard emoji for the sorcery ).

Nothing happening here - not a peep from Asda, order still shows as “processing”,
Am sure you must all be as bored with this saga as I am writing it . Have sent them a sternly-worded message this morning .
It’s now TWELVE DAYS since my last jab 😱🤬🤬.

Weigh-in day tomorrow, so will report stats in the morning.
Onwards and downwards ! ☔️

Kipperandarthur · 27/05/2025 13:21

I got my 5th dose (bonus dose) out of my pen this morning using the insulin needs I had purchased. It was remarkably easy and I will be doing so going forward as there definitely is another dose in the pen.

Will be moving up to the 5mg pen next week.

Can't believe the trouble you've had with ASDA - and how positive you're still sounding 💪🙏

I feel like "Onwards & Downwards" is the May starters motto 😄

@ElsieJay How have you not lost your shit by now? I'd be fuming.

It's worrying that supply seems to be problematic and inconsistent with various companies, either due to overpromoting and being unable to supply the demand created? Or issues with supply further up the chain.
