Hi, welcome to all new joiners in the last couple of days and congratulations on your amazing losses. Good luck on your next week's progress! I'm on injection 4 this morning, and here is my summary so far.

Week 1 - injected I'm my thigh. Extreme suppression, no appetite at all for 5 days. Although I liked that the food noise was gone, I was worried if I ever enjoy food/eating out again. Ate 3 small meals, because I had to get something in me. Average about 1,100 kcal per day. Lost 7.7lbs

Week 2 - injected in my thigh. No suppression after day 1, the food noise came back. Had to use all the willpower I had, but sticked to 3 main meals a day. Average about 1250 kcal per day. Lost 2.5 lbs

Week 3 - injected in my thigh. Whilst my appetite is back the suppression is at a good level. I get hungry around the 3 main meal times, but I do get full after a nice small/balanced portion. I had a couple of days of eating out in restaurants and couple of beers in the sunshine. Average about 1,500kcal per day. Lost 2lbs.

Total loss 12 lbs (but I think it's now stabilising a lot). If I continue at the rate of 2 lbs per week, I'll be over the moon.

Very little side effects, apart from some constipation (I'm drinking puerh tea, which is horrible and tastes like boiled dirt, but it really helps to get my stomach moving, I'm also taking psyllium husk and some a-z vitamins)

I drink about 4-5 liters of water/herbal teas a day.

Injection 4 today, in my stomach. Will see is anything changes if do stomach not my thigh. I'm about 2lbs from 1 stone loss so that's the aim for this week.

I have a lot to lose (hence the water weight loss in week one) & have PCOS

SW - 17.3 st/242 lbs/110 kg
CW - 16.4 st/230 lbs/104.3kg

Congrats to everyone on losses, seems like it's been a good few days for most. Hope those whonare struggling a bit at the moment get a breakthrough and it starts feeling a bit more positive soon.

I'm just 36hrs in, but already noticing some positive scale movement and NSVs. Despite sulphur burps and a bit if diarrhea last night which I think was down to a bit too much fat (I tend to succeed best on keto, so will have to do a low fat version I think!) have lost 1.5lbs - I know that its water weight at this point, but I'll take it! Don't have much appetite suppression, and food noise still there, but do get 'bored' when eating and have to push myself to finish eating. Also, blood sugar leves have been consistently in the pre-diabetic range for months now, and that has dropped back to normal today, and my uric acid levels have dropped too. (I am a data nerd after years of autoimmune, hEDS, dysautonomia and MCAS). I am also AuDHD and ny head does feel clearer and less foggy which is brilliant!

But the biggest thing for me is what I spoke of in my last post, which continued overnight, my Garmin showing that I actually spent time in rest, which continued overnight despite not actually sleeping well. I haven't managed more than 4 hours rest (not sleep!) in a 24hr period in over 6 months. To see the lovely swathes of blue in my Garmin stress chart is a miracle! 😊

Is stomach more effective? I was told thigh as fewer side effects but not sure if that’s been evidenced!

Its about rate of absorption I think. Arm is quickest, then stomach, then thigh. I decided to go thigh to start as it would be absorbed more slowly, so in theory should give fewer side effects so I could get used to it, but will switch to stomach to see if it increases appetite suppression and food noise for me if it isn't happening after a couple of weeks. I am so envious of those who said it switched off almost immediately, but I know that with my medical issues it is worth being cautious to start.

GeraniumRoseblush · 23/05/2025 07:55

@TimeForTeaAndMe sorry to hear you really can't face eating. Is there an option to do a smaller dose next week so you can find the right balance between some suppression but also eating enough to fuel your body? Sending strength!

selfesteemsearcher · 23/05/2025 07:59

Is anyone else driven more at clothes size than weight?
I lost around 4lb week one, Didn’t actually feel that was noticeable (as wouldn’t be usually). I haven’t worn jeans since maybe a teenager 😂 But around two years ago, I bought a pair Of nice Zara high waisted, Button crotch skinny ones with flared ankles. I think I bought the size I thought it was and they nowhere near fitted me at the time. I came across these jeans again About 2 1/2 weeks ago. I tried them on wearing spanks and had to lie down to do up the button crotch. I got two of them done and then couldn’t do the others and even then they were uncomfortably tight on my thighs and stomach. This is actually one of the reasons I started the injection. Today whilst I was getting ready, I thought I’ll give them a try just to see if there are any looser, a little bit even. I actually managed to pull them up with no spanks on just normal underwear, And do them all the way up and they actually fit perfectly 🙈🙈 that’s crazy. Really given me a big push 🥹
W2D2 here - last week wasn’t great atall SE wise but touch wood so far this week I’ve felt, dare I say ‘fine’ maybe just a little more sleepy so far, no suppression though as last week. I am injecting into my stomach for reference 🤍

stripesdotsdashes · 23/05/2025 08:07

4th injection due today and weigh in is a little disappointing, only 1lb off this week, so that's 5lbs in 3 weeks = 169lbs. No move on inches either. I am so surprised due to how much less I'm eating but also not, knowing my body bloody loves being at this size, it's my absolute set point, I was this weight 25 years ago!
Do I just accept ill always be high body fat/overweight BMI (I'm not longer in obese category now) or keep ploughing on....2nd 5mg pen is bought ready for next week, will give it another month.

GeraniumRoseblush · 23/05/2025 08:09

Well done to everyone getting it done, particularly those trying to manage some of the trickier side effects.

I'm W4D1 and have just done my weekly weigh-in. Another 2lbs off so my membership of the plodders club is solid! 6lbs off after 3 weeks

SW 11st 12
CW 11st 6

My suppression has been consistent this week but I'm definitely still able to eat my 3 meals and about 1350 cals a day. Had one bad day of very low mood earlier this week so I'm now tracking any noticeable mood/fatigue days so I can be prepared just in case it happens again this week. Onwards and downwards!

ElsieJay · 23/05/2025 08:14

@Fatrosrhun and @LittleNoosh -

Hmmm, think my quoted delivery date of Saturday is doubtful. Asda website now reads “Your order will arrive within 4-6 days from the date you placed it. This will include the doctor’s review and home delivery “.

Noosh, I’ve just spotted your 22.43h post last night, that’s very reassuring about the packaging and notifications, thank you.
When I collected my first package from Asda’s in-store pharmacy, the lady behind the counter went into great detail about what to do and how to do it - so everyone in the queue knew exactly what I was there for.
Not knocking them if they have to do this, but it wasn’t exactly private.

GeraniumRoseblush · 23/05/2025 08:18

@stripesdotsdashes keep ploughing on! Yours is a very normal weightloss and you're not in the obese category so the numbers are going to be less. Are you tracking calories? If you're eating to a healthy calorie deficit, your body will do what it needs to. And don't forget the NSVs - clothes feeling looser, better sleep, more energy etc.

Looks like we started on the same day and are similar weights with a similar loss. We'll get there 👊

ElsieJay · 23/05/2025 08:23

@selfesteemsearcher - what a fantastic NSV, you must be so proud, such a huge incentive to keep going.
I’m more about the clothes size than the actual weight too.
Congratulations to all the losers, and commiserations to everyone suffering side effects. xx

planesick · 23/05/2025 08:34

W2D2...I am absolutely starving! 😢 I must stay strong!
Keep going everyone.
I found nutracheck ..a free calorie counter. Did someone recommend it here or did I find it online? Anyway, really helpful in counting calories.

Herewegoagain80 · 23/05/2025 08:35

I’m W4D1 and the loss this week was 1.5lb bringing the total loss over 3 weeks of 8.5lb. Honestly I was a little disappointed about this weeks result as I felt that week 3 had been the best so far. Then I thought if someone had told me that in 3 weeks I could lose 8.5lb, I wouldn’t have believed them. It usually takes over 2 months of hard slog to lose that much without any medication to help.

I’ve had no side effects at all so far. Hunger suppression has only been mild but the food noise has been dramatically reduced, making the whole process so much easier. I’ve had no sweet cravings and I’m not rooting through cupboards to find a sugar fix. That in itself is a life changer for me.

dc82 · 23/05/2025 08:55

week 1 - 6lb loss
Height 5ft 1
SW 11st 5
CW 10st13
TW 9st 0

Im really pleased! Though I feel that was mainly water and the fact my period came and went as well. I don’t feel i look or feel any different physically in my clothes. I don’t have a soft tape measure to check measurements 🫣 - I’ll maybe try and pick one up.__

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 23/05/2025 09:20

I'm about to order the next pen and I'm almost frozen in indecision.

I think I could try to go to 5mg and see what it is like... the 2.5mg is definitely helping though.

Gosh I don't know what to do. Help?

I ordered the 5 but I’m not going straight to the full dose. I’m going to do a stepping stone of 3.75 for the first week by counting the clicks and not turning it all the way to the full dose.

If you order the 5, you then have the option to stick to a 2.5 dose, take the 5 dose or take anything in between by counting the clicks.

LittleNoosh · 23/05/2025 09:50

@ElsieJay if it helps your expectations, I ordered my second pen on Sunday, so obviously not a working day and they’d really have received it on Monday.

It was approved on Tuesday and I received the pen on Thursday.

They did suggest I’d get it by Wednesday at the time of ordering so yours might slip a bit and I don’t know how the bank holiday will affect it.

Edited

Me 100%
I don’t pay much attention to the scales (muscle weighs more, time of the month etc), but I really look at measurements.
They tell a truer story for me.
Im eying up all my size 12 jeans hoping I can one day get back into them!

I totally agree with you. Slow and steady here but certainly not those huge losses you see people saying on social media etc.
I think the media has it hyped up as if some sort of miracle is going to happen.

You still have to eat and go about your daily activities.

I'm finding it easier to get through the day without snacking or looking for a biscuit. Definitely a real boost to will power.

But all those saying it's cheating. It's so not. This is still hard work.

Apprenante · 23/05/2025 10:08

I've just taken my 4th dose of 2.5mg. I'd wasted the first dose (due to a failure to read the instructions properly!) so getting the 4th dose out of the pen was like getting the golden dose. It was a doddle - and I'd been so worried I didn't sleep properly last night .

It felt a bit jabbier getting it through the skin but not too bad.

Golden doses every time now for me!

MorrowTreasure · 23/05/2025 10:13

Anyone on Wk3 and seen a difference from Wk2? I had a few side effects days 1-3 on Wk1 and since nothing, no suppression or side effects-like totally normal..? I know 2.5mg is a loading dose but I’m so impatient to get started! Lost 4lbs from the initial side effects and no more since. In a calorie deficit or at least close-tricky with no suppression and prioritising protein and clean eating. Can’t wait to move up a dose now!

Catty123Ma · 23/05/2025 10:20

Sooo, finally W1D1. For anyone interested Iv gone a bit off piste and just taken half the 2.5 dose. I done 30 clicks to get 1.25 mg. I’m very happy being in the low and slow progress group (perhaps we should make one on here!). And, I’m also very worried about the side effects with two smallies, a full time job and a partner that travels.

will be interesting to see if it has any effect at all.. I can always move up next week. It was completely painless. Iv had two sections and had to have the blood clot injections for 10 days following each, which I dreaded. This kwikpen is nothing like those!

SaintAgatha · 23/05/2025 10:22

@selfesteemsearcher I’m being guided more by my clothes size than the scales. I have a pair of s14 flares I want to fit into! I’ve no intention of going for my “ideal” weight - I want to be in a size 12 and I’d be happy with that. Need to do my measurements at the end of my first month (Saturday) as I’m noticeably smaller around my shoulders and my jeans are looser around my tummy. I will weigh monthly, but I’m not going to be tied to my scales anymore.

kiwiane · 23/05/2025 10:26

I’ve just started - I decided Friday is a good day for me; these threads have been really helpful. I’m around 33 bmi and hoping for health improvements as I go - I’m very aware I need to keep my protein up especially as a vegetarian.

LittleNoosh · 23/05/2025 10:27

@MorrowTreasure I’m in wk3 on 2.5 and it’s as if I injected water yesterday.

I’m currently hiding a see through tub with cake in, under a tea towel as otherwise I’ll eat it today I’m sure.

Must. Stay. Strong.
