Day 1 for me - still less than 24hrs since 1st jab
Gosh i am thirsty!!! I said do DP that tonight instead of our usual bottle of red, id quite fancy a bottle of Evian or two! Grin
its almost 5pm and i can feel my stomach has still not started digesting my lunch (udon noodles chili oil with one egg for protein). Not sure i will be able to eat tonight!

I cant wait for DP to start as well. He signed up with Juniper but hasnt been approved yet and it has been 5 days since he sent his pictures. Anyone else in that case?

Has your DP had an answer from Juniper yet? I sent photos yesterday so disappointed you've had to wait so long 🤗

Needles:

Do they automatically come with the order or will I have to source them?

I ordered through Asda.

Hi , @Fernicus74 - the Asda pack has everything you need . Have found them very informative and helpful , without being too pushy to re-order or increase dosage.

Kidsaregrim · 22/05/2025 19:35

W1D4
quick question for the experienced ones!

I can’t eat, I have no appetite at all. Do I just make myself eat (which I have been doing) or ride it out and listen to my body?

Second question
I’m not thirsty either and don’t want to drink, it’s easier to do than eat but I keep forgetting! Is it normal to not feel thirsty?

I forced in 2 boiled eggs and a protein yoghurt and have this weird fuzzy head/dizzy feeling for about an hour then fell asleep for two so a bit worried now!

thanks and well done on all your great losses!

Foreveronaplane · 22/05/2025 19:35

Hi all, I’ve just started my MJ journey and tbh am a bit nervous of what to expect. Thank you for all the super insight.

PandyMoanyMum · 22/05/2025 19:40

Hi @Kidsaregrim I think eat a small meal when you would usually have a meal. Prioritise protein and veg over carbs. I think you’ll get headaches if you don’t eat at all.

The water is important not to get gallstones. I’ve had raging thirst but I think if you feel nauseous it might be harder.

ElsieJay · 22/05/2025 19:41

@LessWeightKate - a fellow online jigsaw fan here , got into them during the Dark Dread Days of Lockdown - I tend to go for landscapes rather than sports themes though!

Well done to all the losers on here, and welcome to all the new starters .
Doing my third jab later this evening, still not feeling hungry but managing three small protein-based meals per day, and no snacks.
Weird to think how this must be “normal” for less food-fixated focused people!

About 24hrs in and think I've had more food noise and felt more hungry today than I have in ages! I am cold though, and that isn't usual for me, and I do feel a bit different, but I can't put my finger on what it is!

I did inject into my thigh as a first timer, hoping to avoid too many side effects, so am assuming it's taking a while to fully build up. If it remains this mild an effect (and I know it can take until day 3 to show its full colours) then I will try my stomach nxt week.

Congrats to all on NSVs and results on the scales. Loving the things people are doing, especially @LessWeightKate 's tottenham based puzzling. You do know you're going to have to do a tottenham puzzle every time they play now, don't you?! 😆

Edited

Is stomach more effective? I was told thigh as fewer side effects but not sure if that’s been evidenced!

Kidsaregrim · 22/05/2025 19:50

No nausea or headaches no 💩either! Just a really meh approach to food! No gall bladder either thank god!

im hoping towards the end of the week as my body gets used to it I will perk up a bit!

I think there’s a theory that injecting in the thigh causes fewer side effects but is less effective.

Mounraine · 22/05/2025 19:53

@Kidsaregrim have you asked your pharmacy for advice? I lost my first stone through fasting alone, so don’t worry about skipping meals. I’d be a lot more worried about dehydration.

Seahorsesplendour · 22/05/2025 20:08

@Kidsaregrim i had the opposite & was constantly thirsty which electrolytes sorted & wondering if they’d help you too! Make sure you’re well hydrated without having to drink as much water? Might be worth a try!

Fernicus74 · 22/05/2025 20:16

@ElsieJayI thought they would its only cos I saw someone post about sourcing needles from Amazon! 👍🏻

SaintAgatha · 22/05/2025 20:24

Tonight’s the first time in three weeks that I’ve had any significant food noise, am honestly attributing that to the constipation, which has made me SO tired and hasn’t been relieved by anything I’ve tried thus far. I’ve eaten some falafel and hummus to mitigate the noise.

It’ll be my jab on Saturday, which is the first weigh day I’ve done since I started this, and the next batch is in the fridge ready to go.

ElsieJay · 22/05/2025 20:27

@Fernicus74 - I think that was someone hoping to use a syringe and needle to extract the Mounjaro left in the pen after the fourth jab - the so-called “Golden Dose”.
I’m a bit squeamish with needles myself , so won’t be attempting it !

Mounraine · 22/05/2025 20:50

(My understanding from reading more knowledgeable MNers is that Amazon is not a source of medical grade needles).

Samuraipizzacat · 22/05/2025 20:54

So im 24 hours in, and I have very little appetite at all. I’m eating like my 10 year old daughter who basically nibbles everything suspiciously.
The lack of food noise is pretty cool.
I also wonder though if I’m so worried about side effects it’s subconsciously making me avoid eating much.

No real nausea just feeling full and the odd mild stomach cramp. Also chicken literally tastes like the smell of dog poo. Explain that one!

Talking of poo… tmi but I’ve had no inclination to go at all since yesterday morning pre injection.

No I haven’t actually, this feels very similar to straight after bariatric surgery so feels familiar if that makes sense so not to worried about the food. The fluids more so I’ve dug out the Stanley and will stop being lazy!

Another lady posted about these and they seemed quite expensive! I’ll have a wonder down the high street at the weekend and have a look - thank you

ElsieJay · 22/05/2025 21:45

Disaster 😱😱.
Just been to fridge for kit - needles and swabs in the pouch , but pen is missing.
The only thing I can think is I must have binned it last week after my jab.
I do get a bit anxious and evidently wasn’t concentrating.
Buggeration !

Littledidsheknow · 22/05/2025 21:49

Hi everyone, mind if I join you?
I was approved by Simple Online Pharmarcy yesterday - very quickly! - and my Mounjaro has been dispatched today. Hoping it arrives tomorrow. I’m so excited and can’t wait to get started.
DDIL started 4 months ago and has lost 3.5 stone. She was pretty large and had no self discipline, so that’s pretty good going. I got a refer a friend £40 discount code from her!

Im wading through the thread for experiences and advice and will post again soon 🙂

26dX · 22/05/2025 21:54

@ElsieJayoh no!!!

@Littledidsheknow welcome and good luck xx

Hello everyone.
I started 9th May so am now w2d7.
First week was spectacular, great suppression and got rid of oedema and inflammation, lost 4.2kg (9lb) .
But w2 has been the opposite, almost no suppression may have put on 1lb. Really hoping it gets better next week 🤞

I had a look at electrolyte sachets. They are amazingly expensive for what they are. At best only contain vit C, vit B complex, sodium chloride and potassium. Much cheaper to buy bottles of the vitamins, sprinkle a bit of salt on some food, and eat a banana, dark chocolate or strong coffee for potassium.

I ordered through Asda.

In case this hasn’t been answered, I’ve been with Asda. You do get needles - and usually a couple spare. You also get four alcohol wipes to use to clean the pen before each use.

You can get a sharps bin off them if you ask - for a small charge.

I had exactly the same week 1 great suppression, week 2, almost none. Really struggled for day 2-7 of the 2nd week.
Week 3 was actually a nice balance between week 1&2. I just think each week is unpredictable so I'm trying not to worry to much but take each day as it comes.
