@Mounraine great loss , well done ! Interesting how quickly weight can fluctuate.
Hopefully will feel more like food tomorrow , third jab is due on Thursday evening .

Mounraine · 19/05/2025 16:14

I'm a Thursday evening jabber @ElsieJay. Tomorrow should be ok, but days 6 and 7 give me, er, an opportunity to practice willpower/maintenance.

GeraniumRoseblush · 19/05/2025 16:22

@Elle771 I'm on W3D4 and have ordered a 5 pen, figured that gives me options - either I can use a lower dose or the full 5.

I read on some of the other threads that some people started to notice that suppression wasn't as strong after a while so I didn't want to risk buying another 2.5 and then feeling hungry. And one day last week I was really hungry which sorta made up my mind for me.

I'm not going to go to the full dose straightaway, will try somewhere between 3 and 3.75 I think and see how that goes.

WhynotJanet · 19/05/2025 16:41

Love reading about other’s progress. I’ve just completed my second week, so W3D1 today and I’ve now lost 6lbs in 2 weeks. Happy with that especially after my meal out last Saturday night. Took my 3rd Jab this morning and so far just a mild tummy ache, which I have been getting after each jab although it doesn’t last more than 24hrs.

Elle771 · 19/05/2025 17:11

@geraniumroseblush do you order extra needles to get more doses then??

Apprenante · 19/05/2025 17:53

I've not been getting hungry much and am struggling to eat more than about 650 - 800 calories. I've had around 60g protein every day which MFP says is the right amount. I'm drinking plenty of water.

BUT I'm getting dizzy, particulary if i stand up after having had my head down when doing up shoes etc. It doesn't last long but it's a bit troubling.

Any suggestions about why this is happening, kind fellow-losers?

Elle771 · 19/05/2025 18:08

@apprenante I can only imagine it's due to such a low calorie intake?? Can you stomach anything that would get you closer above 1000 at all?

(No expert just know I would be passing out on that few cals haha!)

lissie123 · 19/05/2025 18:09

@Elle771 i think you do need to order more needles. I’m planning to order 5mg pen and then just have 3mg or 3.75mg dose and go up slowly- I will order some from an online pharmacy I think.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 19/05/2025 18:45

Gosh @Apprenante that's got to be too few calories. I think you need to increase that.

DidILeaveTheGasOn · 19/05/2025 18:48

Second dry day in three years. Decided to start using an alcohol intake monitoring app and it asked me so many questions about what I like to drink and how often that I'm now desperate for a few drinks. God dammit. I'm going to sip my water and let it go.
Not eaten enough today because of the protein disaster - sorry you had a similar one @ElsieJay! Having a sausage and bean casserole for tea shortly, and then getting comfy on the couch for this week's The Last Of Us episode. Just want a blimmin' cold beer now, stupid app.

I’m actually a little peckish and wanted my late lunch just now. That is the first time I’ve felt that feeling since injection. Day 4 for me and interesting for me to mentally note that after your post @Mounraine ! I was worried about not eating much at all the first few days but if it kind of evens out over the week then I can live with that. 😊

@Elle771 Im thinking if im still getting some suppression and losing I’d stay on the 2.5. But after reading about counting the clicks, if I’m not sure when it comes to it then I may go to the 5 and then eke it out 🤔.

if I’m not sure when it comes to it then I may go to the 5 and then eke it out

Can you eke it out though as you have to use the pen within 30 days after opening it, so wouldn't that just end up wasting half of it if you do decide to stick with 2.5mg?

My provider said that the MFP protein target was half of what we should aim for while on Mounjaro. Why not message your provider to see if they agree? Regardless, I'm certain that more of any food would help to knock that dizziness on the head.

Mounjaro is almost too good at reducing blood sugar levels! Eating little and often is the quickest way to stabilise your levels, and you do have plenty of scope for a few more bites of food here and there, if you can't stomach a complete meal.

Anyone else having disturbed sleep? I had my first jab on Saturday morning and for the past two nights have been waking every 2 hours! I have had no other symptoms, and am defiantly eating less!

Yes, me!! I had my first jab on Friday around noon and have been waking up every two hours every night since. I feel terrible. No other symptoms.

Don’t you only have to use it in 30 days if you take it out of the fridge?

Oh I didn’t realise that - that’s actually good news then for being able to make the pens last a bit longer :)

I’m no expert, only on my 2nd jab but I believe they say you can inject at room temperature as it’s less painful.

I’m not bothered about the injections so am keeping mine cold to extend its lifespan.

Moneyordream · 19/05/2025 21:01

Slightly off topic! Follow up from my post this morning (re bloody stools), saw the dr who is concerned that the diarrhea is not something new i am experiencing from the mounjaro, but the extreme increase and bleeding is concerning. She thinks it's just coincidence and not linked to me starting the mounjaro. Bloods taken, and I have been asked to take a FIT test. She is happy for me to continue the jab at 2.5mg unless it worsens we will review.
To note she weighed me today and I have lost 4lbs since saturday

GeraniumRoseblush · 19/05/2025 21:03

@Elle771 no I'd just use less clicks - so as I understand it (and bear in mind I'm a newbie!), the pens do 240 clicks and you can have as many doses up until it hits 240. I need to look into it more but I think that's what others have said. And yes I'd have extra needles.

TimeForTeaAndMe · 19/05/2025 21:22

Evening everyone I'm now on W3D4 so far I have lost 14lb and to be honest today was the first time I noticed my body changing. I actually had a look in the mirror and didn't cringe 😂

I'm struggling so very much to eat and especially get enough protein. I have the shakes I force down everyday and extra supplements. But as for meals the most I can handle is a bowl of cereal. I'm now wondering if ordering the 5mg was a good idea 🤷🏻‍♀️🙈

Still suffering constipation. But then I'm thinking to myself I'm not exactly putting a lot in to come out!

But it's still early days so I've a lot to work out. And I suppose the best part is I'm not feeling so much better in myself, did a workout today and was still happy to dance away while cleaning up this evening after feeding the family 😁

Just for fun I'm now calling it "fab for 40" or "fit for 40" we are booking holiday to Greece sometime between October and November, it would be bloody lovely to feel more confident in a swimming costume.

Well done everyone your all doing so well and should be so proud. Love reading all the updates 💕

Elle09 · 19/05/2025 21:41

Lovely to read everyone’s brilliant results so far! Hoping that it gets better soon for anyone who is having a tough time of it SE wise.
I’m WK2D1 and have lost 7.5lb this week. I’m delighted with that even though I know lots will be water weight.
Ive had a pretty good week with no major SE’s. I feel like I’ve had minimal suppression, i can eat my 3 meals a day and still pretty good size portions but don’t really want to snack. I’ve been averaging 1300 calories a day.

SW 16st 2lb
CW 15st 8.5lb

tostaky · 19/05/2025 22:03

W1D4 - ive just logged all my food on MFP be ause i was worried i wasnt eating enough… turns out i ate about 1700cala today!! Will try to do better tomorrow. It will be a busy day with no access to food so should be fine

lissie123 · 19/05/2025 22:33

I’m confused. Can you extend the use of a pen if it’s opened but kept in the fridge? Or does it simply have a life span of 30 days once’s opened regardless of whether it’s stored in the fridge or at room temperature?

BerfyTigot · 19/05/2025 22:50

Day 7 just weighed (for some reason I chose to weigh in evening 🙄).
I'm down 2.1 kgs!! So 5.5 lbs, and im under 100 kg. I'm not that surprised as I've spent most of the week on the toilet 😆

SW 102kg
CW 99.9 kg
GW 70kg

BerfyTigot · 19/05/2025 22:53

@lissie123 I think it's 30 days regardless of the temperature. But I'm new to this so someone else may know better.

Catty123Ma · 19/05/2025 23:06

Anyone planning to start this Thursday? Was thinking Thursday as I don’t work Friday or the weekend and it will hopefully help any excessive weekend consumption.. which is usually my downfall. Is there any tips of taking the injection in the morning versus the night time?

lots of questions, also…

Any tips for supplements.. I’m looking for a Recommendation on: multivitamin/hydration/protein/collagen? Iv taken all apart from protein intermittently over the past few years.. I think it might be a good idea to ramp it back up!
