We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

@toobusytoclean my antidepressant is not an ssri type but it has thankfully not been affected by the mounjaro so far. I was worried about that and did lots of reading before deciding to take it. There are lots of mentions online about people finding their antidepressants less effective and increasing the dose.

@Coffeeandallthebooks great loss and NSV!

@Seahawk80 great loss! I use weprescribe, there's £40 off your first order and two delivery options of 6.99 or 9.99. If you reorder with them you get 10% off and free delivery.

I’m glad they’ve been good for you but another mumsnetter I was chatting to had a really poor experience with them - in terms of them not ensuring the cold chain, delivering a warm pen and then being very unhelpful about replacing it. I am sure there are good and bad stories about all suppliers but this is concerning as they tried to tell her that it’s fine as it’s allowed to get warm and she has to use it in 30 days from arrival. Also she had no way of knowing how long or how hot it had been before it got to her with fully melted ice packs. The manufacturer’s guidance is quite clear that the 30 days cannot be part of their delivery, it should only start when you are ready to take the first dose. The clock can’t start because they didn’t ensure they packed it properly.

Oh dear. That's not good.

I can confirm that my 3 pens thus far have arrived quickly, within their allotted delivery slot and well packaged in their "refrigerated delivery packaging" (which is still cold now - I just checked - even though it was delivered at 10am today).

I can only speak for my own experience of course but I've been very impressed.

The 'up to 10 days' was just for a response to an email - that's terrible!

I will check the email but I am sure it specified price match requests can take up to 10 days.

Hi folks. This is a really helpful thread. I’m 6weeks in and one stone down. I lost that really quickly but for the last two weeks have plateaued. Anyone else the same? Not complaining at all but just wondering if this is usual? Is my body maybe catching up with itself?

wlinewbie0425 · 13/06/2025 06:38

Happy Friday everyone! Checking in to see the Friday results and NSVs and also to keep an eye on the thread as we are not far off needing our 4th.

@Discogirl23I am so similar, lost the first Mounjaro stone pretty quickly and then danced around the same couple of lbs for weigh ins W6-8. I am making sure to maintain the healthy habits and when I feel a bit annoyed about it, trying on clothes that fit better and comparing methreesixty scans to remind myself how much progress I’ve made already. This is the point on any other ‘diet’ that I would have given up, but with this - we won’t - we will just let our bodies do things at their own pace and it will move downwards again when ready. Reading older months’ threads also helps to see this is a totally normal part of the process.

@Discogirl23 did you move up your dose after the first pen ?

Crunchymum · 13/06/2025 07:01

Happy Friday.

Weigh-in day for me and I'm down -1.5lbs.

Start weight 187.5lbs
Current weight 171lbs

So 16.5lbs in 8 weeks. Still slower than I'd like but I guess an average of 2lbs per week is fine.

It's my lowest weight since 2018!!

Discogirl23 · 13/06/2025 07:26

Scousebloke · 13/06/2025 06:56

@Discogirl23 did you move up your dose after the first pen ?

I went up to 3.75 and feel that’s enough. I was a bit wary of jumping up to 5 as my friend had a rough time with it. I also didn’t think I really needed it. Would rather go slow than feel ill. Going to get another 5ml and continue with the 3.75 and see where I’m at after that.

PumpKim · 13/06/2025 07:58

@Crunchymum 2lb a week is great going. Well done. I had a similar start weight to you, currently at 12lb off with next official weigh in on Sunday. It's looking like it will be 0.5/1lb which is disappointing after only 0.5 last week, but a loss is a loss.

I jabbed on Wednesday and have now also had a bit of a reaction at the injection site. Slightly raised red circle about the size of a 50p and a bit itchy. I already take a antihistamine every day so that may have stopped it being any worse. Weird though as this is third jab of the pen and no previous reactions at all 🤷‍♀️

Crunchymum · 13/06/2025 08:00

I've also realised it's week 7 weigh-in and not week 8. I'm taking 8th jab today so it's day 1 of week 8.

I'm losing my marbles 😂

Undecided2025 · 13/06/2025 08:05

Coffeeandallthebooks · 12/06/2025 08:53

@Undecided2025 I haven't had a reaction to my MJ injection, but I used to receive an infusion treatment in hospital, and some other patients developed reactions at the needle site.
The nurses gave them an oral antihistamine about 15 minutes before rather than a topical cream and it helped in the majority of cases. But definitely get advice from your chemist as it doesn't sound pleasant lasting nearly a week!

Thank you, that’s really helpful ☺️

Undecided2025 · 13/06/2025 08:06

Ricoletti · 12/06/2025 08:55

@Undecided2025i have this very same rash!!!!

yes I use anthisan and take 2 antihistamines. Best advice I can give you is don’t scratch it. I scratched the life out of the first few rashes I got, but have ignored the last one and it’s gone away much quicker.

mine only started happening when I went up to 5ml, no rash at all from 2.5.

After my last injection the rash was really tiny and has gone quicker, so I’m hoping I’ll the reaction is reducing over time with my body getting used to it .

I thought I was the only one!!!

The first wasn’t itchy at all, but the second! I woke myself up scratching it. Going on holiday in 2 weeks and don’t want to be covered in rashes. Going to get antihistamined up!

Undecided2025 · 13/06/2025 08:08

violetmondays · 12/06/2025 09:52

@Undecided2025 and @Ricoletti so strange as I actually got a rash this time. It was my second dose of 3.5mg from a 5mg pen. Small patch of red itchy rash about the size of a 2p that I tried to ignore. Haven't got this with any of the other injections despite already having one previous dose from the same pen. Used the same alcohol wipes as well so I really don't know!

Yes! Was my first and second dose from my 5mg pen, but taking 3.75. I looked up other threads and people have said it started when they moved on from 2.5. Who knows. I wondered if it was the needle/wipe as well as they were different from my first pen.

BonnieClydeSW15 · 13/06/2025 09:08

Hi everyone! Not posted for a couple of weeks but have been reading! Today is W8 for me and as I have decided not to weigh myself I can’t give any loss stats. However I can say that my clothes feel less tight, my husband says he has noticed I have lost weight & that I have stopped snoring! Last week was quite rough for me - not SEs but just feeling off kilter. But great to hear how everyone is doing! Keep it up! I’ve decided to stick with 5mg for the next 4 weeks as I think I’m taking longer to adjust to it than I expected but this is a long-term investment in my health so happy to take things more slowly! Well done all & keep going 👏👏

Sorry I meant to say 3.75mg! It’s so strange - I’ll see what happens today as I’ve just done my next jab.

StartingApril2025 · 13/06/2025 09:32

Hi everyone for those experienced with the bonus dose, I have 1 full normal dose left in my 2.5mg pen and whatever is left in there. I want to use the 2.5mg plus a little to get to to 3.75 so if I’m correct I need 0.3 in addition to the full dose ( which I understand is 0.6) . My real question is do I administer the normal dose the usual way then extract the extra or just do all in one with the syringe? Thanks!!

Vixs13 · 13/06/2025 09:43

Morning everyone,

Just done my weekly weigh in and 2lbs down 🎉 I’m now finally under 13st! and I’ve gone from a size 18 (sometimes 20!) to a size 14!

I’m finding the 5mg really strong tho, the food suppression is unreal for around 4/5 days but I feel like I make up for it on days 6 & 7. I am getting lots of indigestion, heartburn and reflux but I do suffer with it anyway due to all the meds I used to take for rosacea which has cleared up since being on MJ! I take omeprazole everyday and pepto bismol. I didn’t know pepto changes the colour of 💩 learnt that the hard way the other night when I thought I had internal bleeding 🤣😂 until I googled it!

I have got another 5mg jab I think I’m going to stick with 5 for a while I’m a bit nervous about going up to 7.5mg with how strong I’ve found 5 will see tho after this next one.

GeraniumRoseblush · 13/06/2025 09:44

@Discogirl23 yes me! I've stalled this week and have no idea why. It also feels really personal as its the weight I've got to previously without WLI and have not got under! I've lost 10.5lbs in 6 weeks so have never had the fast losses, essentially its been 2lbs a week until this week.

@wlinewbie0425 interesting to hear your experience with a stall. I've gone straight into "what's the point" this morning which I know is ridiculous but I'm still feeling bummed about it. I need to remind myself to trust the process 🙏

Anyone got any advice on how to break a stall?

violetmondays · 13/06/2025 10:52

Happy Friday all! Week 8 day 1 for me. Weigh in: lost another 2lb this week so that's brings the total loss on MJ to 18lb. Finally broke the the 12 stone barrier and into the 11 stones (only just!).

SW: 13.3
CW: 11.13
TW: 10 st
Total loss so far: 18lb

Just done my 3rd 3.75mg. Should get at least another 2 out of this 5mg pen and then I will buy another 5 and either stick with 3.75 or go up to 5 if needed. At the moment I feel like I can eat meals normally (although keeping to lower calories and lowish carbs) but no food noise or cravings/snacking in between and I feel like this is sustainable so will stay on this until I feel like it's not working any more. I had a turkish delight choc bar yesterday which is the first chocolate I have had in 8 weeks! I don't miss it that much tbh but it was nice :)

Those who are experiencing a plateau might find some ideas looking at some of the older threads on here, it seems very common. Here are a couple of threads on it:

Well done on everyone's losses and NSVs this week - @Vixs13 your clothes size change is huge - amazing!! 🎉

Coventree · 13/06/2025 12:56

@StartingApril2025 I did a 3.75mg all in one go, if that helps.

Well done for the losses, keep going for the stallers/small losses - look how far you’ve come so far and imagine how far on you’ll be in another two months, even if this middle bit’s a bit sluggish ❤️

I’ve just come back from a hospital appt to discuss MRI on a swollen and painful knee that keeps feeling like it’s disintegrating every now and again. Severe arthritis and an almost worn away knee cap, but pain is absolutely manageable so no treatment at the moment other than a physio referral for advice on specific exercises. Best thing I can do is to lose weight and keep it off, so explained I’m on Mounjaro, lost 24lbs since April, etc, and he said ‘ah, Mounjaro’s turning out to be a bit of a wonder drug in all sorts of ways’! Yay, go Mounjaro!!!

Steala · 13/06/2025 14:54

Wow! Having lost 5lb total in the first 7 weeks, I've just lost 5lb this week. I've just taken my last 5mg dose. I hope I don't regret the increase to 7.5. But so far, not many side effects

bridgetreilly · 13/06/2025 15:15

W8D2 and I am still getting utterly exhausted the day after a jab. I’m at 5mg for the next two months so I’m really hoping that settles down soon.

I'm glad to hear your HCP was supportive about MJ. I'm also glad to hear you have a plan for your poor knee.

I have an autoimmune arthritis (medicated) and thus far x2 rheumatology nurses and my consultant have all been very quick to say they can't advise on MJ / they don't advocate it as it's a new drug / it's up to prescriber not them whether their patients take it.

Given the fact many people who suffer with arthritis also have mobility issues which leads to obesity and the prevalence of MJ, you'd think someone would at least look into it. I'm at a massive London teaching hospital as well !

StartingApril2025 · 13/06/2025 18:12

@Coventree thanks I’m heading home and will do it when I get some peace from kids, will just extract 0.9ml from the pen then in one go , the needle is slightly thicker than the one I had previously but hopefully be ok, all sorts of nervousness breaking the rules !! Havnt done extra dose before but needs must as had official weigh this more and no weight loss again another week 🤪🤪
