We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

@Brunocatmon I'm W6D4 and back on 2.5 after a week on 2.9mg (golden dose) - appetite totally switched off on 2.9 and I realised I preferred eating 3 meals a day rather than having to force down food. I'm not having the weightloss that some are though and am averaging 1-2lbs a week. Still on balance I'm happy keeping the dose as low as possible if it continues to work at that pace.

I'm not losing as quickly as some either but I " only" had 3 stone to lose anyway really and I'm averaging a couple of lbs a week which I think is realistic.

@Brunocatmon I'm on week 6 of 2.5mg with no plans to move up yet. I don't have total suppression, I can eat anything I want and have no trouble getting enough calories and protein. I have no or very little food noise and no desire to snack between meals, I haven't had chocolate or crisps or sweets or bread or pizza or a hundred other things for over six weeks, I've had very little side effects, constipation being the worst. I could probably increase my dose eat lower calories and lose weight faster but I am aiming to do this at a reasonable rate and build better habits that will hopefully be sustainable when I stop the mounjaro. If it wears off and I start to struggle to stay on track I'll move up but for now it's working for me.

Yeah i dint have totally 100% suppression like at the beginning but I'm able to not listen to the food noise so as long as it stays that way I'll stay on 2.5

GeraniumRoseblush · 09/06/2025 22:56

@StartingApril2025 I got the same syringes as @PoisonIvy89 . I was quite nervous about doing the golden dose as the needle is longer than on the pens but it was a doddle and I didn't feel anything different to a pen injection.

Steala · 09/06/2025 22:56

I'm amazed by all these losses! I'm still on 5 lb in 7.5 weeks. I've ordered 7.5 for my next pen. Fingers crossed.

Seahawk80 · 10/06/2025 06:28

Brunocatmon · 09/06/2025 18:38

Am I the only person still on 2.5? I'm on wk 7 day 1 and still getting enough suppression with this dose so I'm going to stay on it. On the last day of the week I can hear some food noise but on the whole I'm happy and don't want to risk side effects.

My personal nsv this weekend was wearing a pair of jeans that I bought that were decidedly tight a few months ago but I loved them and they were a one off so I bought them anyway. I wore them on Saturday and they're so loose on me, they look great. 😁

With hindsight I probably could have stayed on 2.5, I still had pretty good suppression and no sugar cravings. But I was feeling it less and getting hungry. My worry was that half way through the pen it would stop working for me at 2.5. I’ve found it harder to eat properly on 5 and have constipation for the first time. Might go down to 3.75 next week.

@Zebracat well done on turning down the 3rd sausage! This is what I worried about. I found the golden dose super easy - I got syringes from Amazon. Pack of 10 pcs 1ml/cc Plastic... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CZJ68C2X?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Seahawk80 · 10/06/2025 06:30

Sorry just realised it was you who wanted syringe link @StartingApril2025 I got mine from Amazon - people mentioned the g dose in reviews so knew they would be what I needed!

Morning all! W8D4 of MJ for me. Although I've kept shifting my jab days so technically only 7 full calendar weeks in. I'm 1.8lbs down today. 0.2 off a stone, hopefully I'll nab that next week.
I thought 3.75 was going to be a good dose for me but it wore off spectacularly and I became the hungry caterpillar for 3 days so I went to 5mg for my next jab. Alot more suppression and a bit of nausea nothing too bad so far. Although my body just doesn't seem to like certain things anymore 🤷
Well done on all the losses!

Lidlbitofmonica · 10/06/2025 08:03

I don’t have total suppression either, and can definetly eat past the voice in my head that’s telling me to stop. But Ooft, now that I’m on 5mg, I really suffer for it later with nausea. Particularly with carby food - I had a roll and bacon on Sunday morning, and a pie later that night, and felt awful for it.

Im taking this as part of my retraining around food though, in the past few years I’ve definetly felt the after-effects of eating too many carbs, so I need to focus on how I feel much better with a protein and fruit/veg based diet and regular exercise. Let’s hope I can retrain my brain post-MJ!

3.6kg lost since last week

So, a massive loss -- but not something I'm celebrating as I've had severe diarrhea for 4 days and awful side effects. I've been feeling really poorly, being barely able to eat.

Sorry to be a bit of a downer, as I know this is a space for support and encouragement... But I wanted to share my experience as it may help others if they go through something similar.

(Thanks to @Icebreakhell for sharing your experience - it was good to know that I wasn't the only one)

I'd done 4 weeks on 2.5mg, 1 week on 3mg and then 1 week on 3.75mg (which went well), before doing my 2nd injection of 3.75mg. So I was assuming all would be fine... But I guess the accumulation of MJ in my system proved too much and my body reacted really strongly.

So it's given me a big scare...

I definitely won't be doing my usual jab today. I'm not quite sure when my next dose will be or how much I'll do, but it certainly won't be more than 2.5mg. I think I must be fairly sensitive to this drug and will need to be super careful moving forwards.

For now, I'm trying to focus on rehydrating and getting my body used to little bits of food again.

Hi all

W8D1 no loss for me this week but my waist is coming back!! 13lbs lost so far, slow and steady although would like a bit more before I go on holiday in 7 weeks.

Any tips or tricks to helping the weight move a bit more quickly? Im calorie counting and moving more now.

Ricoletti · 10/06/2025 10:09

@PeachSnail I’m sorry to hear you have been so poorly. Sounds awful x

you are so right that we all respond to this differently. I’m super constipated all the time, so very different poo issues to yours.

you are right to listen to your body. I really hope you feel better soon. Do you have rehydration electrolytes to sip ? X

Ricoletti · 10/06/2025 10:09

@Crazycatknitter92 yes to the reappearing waist 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Ricoletti · 10/06/2025 10:17

Happy Tuesday everyone.

well done to all, for the losses and NSV, and also for just trucking on - marathon not a sprint!

I’ve hurt my back (probs old niggling issues that have reared their head after too much walking over city break).

anyway, long story short - resulted in me sobbing in an MRI machine. luckily nothing too serious and I’m hoping to be on the mend soon.

but I’m worried even my little gentle walks and grand plans of muscle strengthening exercises will be out of the window for a while. going to try some very gentle yoga stretches this week to keep mobile, and hope for the best.

interestingly, in the past when I’ve been laid up/bed rest type situations, and feeling terribly sorry for myself- all I’ve thought of was snacks and food to comfort me… like, I’m poorly I need a 4 pack of magnums and a takeaway for tea!

but this just hasn’t happened at all. I feel like my brain is still seeking the comfort / dopamine hit (ADHD) , but this now looks more like - a hot bath, a favourite film, a face mask etc.

silver lining and all that 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting about being poorly and needing sweets. Everyone in the house has been ill and now it's my turn. Had my first sugar craving for weeks as a result. I've managed to resist though.

I've been thinking about the dopamine thing as well. For me, I seem to have done a straight swap to a new craft. Instead of snacking I am making... Like to possibly pathological levels! I have boxes now of finished items that I'm going to have to sell. I'm autistic and probably ADHD as well, I genuinely hadn't realised I was using food to press that little reward switch in my brain.

Aside from being ill, I'm keeping up with my fat-lass-on-a-crosstrainer programme and am at levels now that are releasing endorphins
Perhaps I can shift some of my reward needs onto exercise long term.

Also, I bought new scales that are clearly more accurate than the chemist, so looks like I haven't lost as much as I thought, but I have lost a decent amount and I'm keeping losing, without it being scary!

RubyJuno · 10/06/2025 11:59

@Ricoletti so sorry about your back, that sounds horrible, I hope you’re on the mend soon. I completely second what you said about attitude to food though, it struck me when I was suffering with my broken shoulder and bored not really able to do anything, that I would have felt I needed to “treat” myself and eat a buttered baguette and a cream cake to cheer myself up. But it was like that wasn’t even an option, I just carried on as normal (or new normal!).

Really hope the pain eases and you can get back to some gentle exercise soon.

Sorry to hear you've felt so unwell, this is what I'm so scared of. I can't have time off work for one thing. I hope you feel better soon.

2.5 is ok for me, like I said I have good suppression with some food noise at the end of day 6 but I think I'll stay here for another month.

Zebracat · 10/06/2025 12:11

I’m feeling unwell today. I ate too much yesterday and I have bloating, wind, cramps and nausea. I am sipping electrolytes but wonder if anything else helps. I went for a walk, as that often resets me, but it didn’t

Crunchymum · 10/06/2025 13:17

I'm so annoyed at myself for waiting "so long" to order my next pen. The provider I am with offers a price match. I found another provider who is doing 7.5mg for £125, so I have sent them all the info but they've said it could take up to 10 days to get back to me.

So my options are 1) I actually do move to a new provider or 2) I pay £170 when I could - in theory - have a massive discount.

I won't need to use my new pen until 20th June but I guess I've missed the window for the price comparison now?

I'll have to remember for next time. I don't actually want to move provider either as I like mine!!!

Crunchymum · 10/06/2025 13:18

Sorry to all those who are feeling poorly - be it from illness or SE's - sending "feel better soon" vibes.

PeachSnail · 10/06/2025 13:39

Thanks for the well wishes @Ricoletti @Brunocatmon and @Crunchymum -- definitely on the mend now but my digestion feels really messed up still so I think it's going to take some time to stabilise.

Yes @Ricoletti I've been sipping on electrolytes throughout... Though they've started to make me feel quite queasy now!

Best wishes to everyone else who is feeling poorly. We'll get through this @Ricoletti@Zebracat@Hawkmoth 💪♥️

How is your food noise / suppression?

I'm the other end of the spectrum. I've lost a similar amount (I'm W7D5 and have lost 15lbs) but I've has to go through my doses quickly. I'm moving up to 7.5mg.

2.5mg did very little for me.

This week is the first time I've gotten hungry and my sweet tooth is coming back. I do think it might be time to move up to 5. Just a little worried about side effects
