We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

Hi all! Been a bit MIA for a week or two due to other life stresses but have been reading along with all of your fab progress and today is my 4th jab of 5mg.

SW 221.4
CW 198.4

So 23lb off in 7 weeks which I am just thrilled about although in all honesty I can't actually see a huge difference in the mirror since my start was so high. I think it'll be quite a while before I go down a size or feel any lighter in myself!

Have my second pen of 5mg ready to go since I am losing steadily although this past week was definitely more hungry days 4-7. Also the dreaded constipation has returned so must up my water again.

Happy Monday to all you lovely lot and hope it's all going well.

BeMellowAquaSquid · 09/06/2025 11:05

It took me a while to find this as we’re on thread 3. So I’m on week 3 of the 5mg. I have lost close to 2 stone in 7 weeks. Starting weight was 14st 2lb now 12st 1lb I didn’t expect to lose this much so quickly and I’ve been so lucky with no side effects. I would like to lose another 1.5stone but not sure on going up to the 7.5. Also is there a place we can get discount codes for PhloCljnic? I’ve got my husband and sister on board now nothings changed for my husband except quite bad constipation and good portion control. Really enjoying the journey.

dozywelshbird · 09/06/2025 11:53

amazing losses @AdotHam and @BeMellowAquaSquid

I can't fathom how some people are losing so much in the same time as me, are you just not eating very much at all (my wee mind is blown and I'm quite envious!)

I was dithering over 3.75mg v 5mg, but I've decided to go for 5mg, hopefully it'll kick start better weight loss 😄

Seahawk80 · 09/06/2025 11:55

@AbundanceofKatherines yes that’s the one! Was really good. Serves 4 as well so means we both had lunch for today!

thanks @dozywelshbird, hope you feel better. I feel like a new woman compared to yesterday! And a 1lb loss is great especially with TOTM - well done!

bridgetreilly · 09/06/2025 13:12

I have ordered some new clothes! Mostly because I literally can’t wear any of my jeans any more. So I have ordered a normal pair and a capri length pair for the summer. And also a dress and sweatshirt.

Size 18! Like in normal shops!

I suspect the dress and sweatshirt may be a little too small right now, but I am hopeful of wearing both by the end of this month.

FWIW, my starting weight was higher than yours, and I can see changes in my shape and size in some areas. For example, I have lots of summer tops that were too tight around the upper arms last year, but are fine now. And my jeans don’t stay up any more! And my double chin is receding.

So I don’t think anyone else is looking at me and noticing, but I am! Have another look at yourself and see if you can identify specific changes. How do your clothes look compared to two months ago? I bet there’s a difference.

I’ve been eating less definitely but a typical day is:

1 x slice of peanut butter on toast
1 very small bowl of mixed fruit

IF I’m hungry at lunch I’ll have a pack of 10 mini satay chicken skewers as they’re a good grab and go

sometimes on top of this I’ll have a protein bar or even a small chocolate Kit Kat if I have a sugar craving

dinner - normal I’m quite good, not a fussy eater at all but portions are smaller - yesterday I had a full roast dinner with all the trimmings.

im average in activity walk my dogs for an hour or so a day and try and use the stairs rather than lifts at work. I have definitely lost a lot of muscle I can feel it I’ve played rugby for 5 years so been building up my legs and now they’re quite wobbly. My mum tum and boobs are also on the saggier side of normal. Everyone says I’ve lost it in my face more than anywhere so maybe I just had a massive head before!

I don’t expect to lose as much weight again so rapidly and anyone not losing as much so quickly shouldn’t feel disheartened. Have also cut out bread, snacks and potatoes where I consciously can. I did have my gall bladder removed last year so have to be fairly careful what I eat fat wise or it doesn’t bode well. Xx

My biggest problem has always been portion control rather than a particularly poor diet so I've been eating fairly normally but smaller amounts and have been trying to stick to recommended calories. I think I'd like to move away from calorie counting in the coming months since it isn't helpful for me long term and I'm finally understanding how much I 'should' be eating so that's the next plan.

Also, I do seem to be having a fairly strong reaction to the MJ and I just cannot be bothered with food at all which is completely weird for me since I love to cook and eat out and this also isn't what I'm hoping for long term since the joy of food is such a big part of life... it's just trying to work out the right balance between it all.

I've been surprised by such a fast start but like I said, I've also got a very long journey ahead and right now cannot imagine even being in the 'overweight' BMI let alone a healthy one, just got to be patient and consistent. Think everyone on this board is incredible with the tips and the positivity, it's inspiring!

Crunchymum · 09/06/2025 14:37

Blimey there have been some mega losses. 2st in 7 weeks?? I cannot imagine it.

I feel like my loss is very mediocre, which I guess isn't a bad thing of course (it's better than if I was going it alone!)

I am trying to be patient but I wish I'd lost a little more in the 7 weeks I have been at it.

I am trying to be mindful that this a long term thing and not a quick fix but sometimes I just want to wake up at goal weight 😂

dozywelshbird · 09/06/2025 14:50

@BeMellowAquaSquid and @AdotHam what an amazing kickstart though, it is really great to see how well you are doing and managing to change habits, I'm like you @AdotHam in that my diet is pretty healthy but I just eat too much of it all and I love eating out, so using MJ to retrain my portion control is great.

Do you both have that dead stop thing? I haven't really experienced that yet, wondering if I will now I've moved up to 5mg

Ha ha @BeMellowAquaSquid the comment about your head made me laugh, you probably can't see it on you yet

I hear you @Crunchymum I wish that too - impatient much 😆

AbundanceofKatherines · 09/06/2025 16:14

Is anyone else hating 5mg? I’m W7D5 (3rd week at 5mg) and I’m finding it massively heavy going. I never want to eat anything, am not enjoying food at all, feel nauseous if I don’t eat and nauseous at the thought of food. I do feel a bit better after eating for a short while but then feel stuffed full, almost like the food is all sitting in my oesophagus - it’s very uncomfortable.

I really enjoyed the 4 weeks of 2.5mg and wish I hadn’t moved up so quickly - I was just following the programme as prescribed.

I am thinking of doing 30 clicks this week, to give myself a bit of respite, and then doing 45 clicks each following week with the next 5mg pen.

Sorry to be a downer on the thread but you’re my support network for this (as I hope I am part of yours).

Ricoletti · 09/06/2025 16:24

@AbundanceofKatherines I felt like this for weeks after starting 5ml. At week 4 of 5ml this has really settled down. I still feel sick if I don’t eat, and have to remind myself not to miss meals… but I’m managing more food and enjoying food again. This is getting better day by day.

I think. I’m more tired on 5ml than I was on 2.5.

im sorry you feel rough. It might just take a little while to settle for you?

I actually don’t have the dead stop thing, I could probably just carry on if I served myself a big portion so I’m having to only serve myself a smaller amount of food.

Zebracat · 09/06/2025 18:10

I feel fine on 5 mg. I am week 7, and I will stay at 5 for next month, I think. I have noticed how much more nicely my clothes hang. I think I was just so relieved if stuff did up that I had no further concept of a good fit. Others have started to notice my weight loss too, after losing 10 kilos. I thought it would take longer.
I don’t know if I have a hard stop, but I bought some ”Bounty” protein bars, ate one and found it disgusting but ignored the voice telling me to stop. Felt so sick I had to go to bed. Now if I hear the voice, I stop.

AbundanceofKatherines · 09/06/2025 18:17

Thank you @Ricoletti. I might see how I feel on Thursday and make a decision then. I am leaning towards having an easier week as I know I’m not eating enough and am feeling very tired.

I have a big week at work next week and I need to bring my A game. A bit worried that I’ll struggle to perform on another 5mg week.

Thanks again x

Brunocatmon · 09/06/2025 18:38

Am I the only person still on 2.5? I'm on wk 7 day 1 and still getting enough suppression with this dose so I'm going to stay on it. On the last day of the week I can hear some food noise but on the whole I'm happy and don't want to risk side effects.

My personal nsv this weekend was wearing a pair of jeans that I bought that were decidedly tight a few months ago but I loved them and they were a one off so I bought them anyway. I wore them on Saturday and they're so loose on me, they look great. 😁

BudgieMom · 09/06/2025 18:57

Week 6 weigh in today and another 1lb off that's 15.5 in total! Well done everyone on the great losses and I hope we all have another good week 😊

Seahawk80 · 09/06/2025 19:07

@Crunchymumwhat you said really resonated with me. I feel the same sometimes and a couple of weeks ago was just fed up (that coincided with my period which makes sense). But yeah totally just want to be done! I told my colleague who works remotely I was on MJ and she was telling me that her mum lost a crazy amount of weight quickly on it. I’m seeing her in 3 weeks and worried she will say you don’t look very different!! Just need to remember if it comes off slowly it should be sustainable!

Coventree · 09/06/2025 19:27

Ah! @Seahawk80 and @Lidlbitofmonica I forgot about the Hairy Dieters - I have their books so have pulled them off the shelves to look through! (How retro!). Also Justine Pattison who they wrote their recipes with also did a great series called Without the Calories - again in a similar vein to the Hairy Dieters recipes

I’d love to just wake up at target weight @crunchymum.Life would be so much easier!

Nearlyhadenough · 09/06/2025 20:29

W7D1. Lost 3Lbs at weigh in, taking me to 18 in total, and a happy me!

Hoping tomorrow will have less side effects than last week….

@Brunocatmon I'm W6D4 and back on 2.5 after a week on 2.9mg (golden dose) - appetite totally switched off on 2.9 and I realised I preferred eating 3 meals a day rather than having to force down food. I'm not having the weightloss that some are though and am averaging 1-2lbs a week. Still on balance I'm happy keeping the dose as low as possible if it continues to work at that pace.

StartingApril2025 · 09/06/2025 22:23

@Brunocatmon @SweetChilliGirl @GeraniumRoseblush I’m on week 7 day 4 at 2.5mg and this week I have zerooo surpression of any kind and back eating snacks and going to the cupboard looking for a munch !!have had chocolate everyday for the last few days. It’s ridiculous. Last week was brilliant though didn’t lose any on Saturday but blamed my period ! now I’m thinking how will I get through another 10 days, tempted to buy syringe needles and give myself 3.75mg on Friday for next week.

would anyone be able to advise me what needles to buy if I decide to do this?

Zebracat · 09/06/2025 22:33

I haven’t done the golden dose. Just don’t feel confident that I would get it right. But I’m on 5 and zero suppression today, eaten 2000 calories , including loads of mashed potato, and custard creams. My belly is in shock! Actually, not zero, because I did turn down a third sausage!

@Brunocatmon I'm on week 6 of 2.5mg with no plans to move up yet. I don't have total suppression, I can eat anything I want and have no trouble getting enough calories and protein. I have no or very little food noise and no desire to snack between meals, I haven't had chocolate or crisps or sweets or bread or pizza or a hundred other things for over six weeks, I've had very little side effects, constipation being the worst. I could probably increase my dose eat lower calories and lose weight faster but I am aiming to do this at a reasonable rate and build better habits that will hopefully be sustainable when I stop the mounjaro. If it wears off and I start to struggle to stay on track I'll move up but for now it's working for me.
