Late April starters - thread 3

We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

It definitel6 is Hawkmoth. I want to know what’s happening down there.

wlinewbie0425 · 06/06/2025 07:02

@Hawkmoth😂 that’s success right there!

Happy Friday Late April team! We are approaching 2 months on this amazing journey in the next few weeks - and just look how far we’ve all come.

checking in for all the Friday weigh in updates it’s always a busy one here. Hope you have lots of scale and non-scale victories to share!

Interesting about your feet @ymemanresu - makes sense they would have reduced a bit too, my rings fit better on my fingers. I managed not to have them resized despite being over 5 stone heavier than wedding day but think that was due to having quite big hands (and feet) so they don’t really show fat like the rest of me. Have those of your with noticeable changes to feet got smaller hands and feet maybe?

@Crunchymumi think plateaus around this point are totally a thing - it will vary with hormones and constipation when they hit each of us but my week 6 was too. Onwards and downwards.

well done to everyone else who’s mentioned success of all kinds this week, it’s so motivating to read, and remind yourself that even if you have a maintain week the next victory is just around the corner!

Is being able to see how many of my pubic hairs are actually grey for the first time without hurting my back an NSV? I suppose it must be... But I preferred not knowing.

This is definitely a double edged NSV 😂

Crunchymum · 06/06/2025 07:10

Official weigh-in day and I have lost a lb this week. Which is a bit better than maintaining.

So I'm -15lb in 6 weeks.

SW: 187.5lbs
CW: 172.5lbs

Still a mountain to climb and I'm a bit nervous for my 5mg later as I'm still unsure if me being poorly was a SE or an actual illness.

NSV, I've moved from last clasp to first / smallest clasp on my humongous bra.

Off for a blood test today (have them every 3 months for my autoimmune condition).

GoGoGovy · 06/06/2025 07:56

Morning ☀️

6th injection today. 3rd( should have been 2nd, but moved up early from 0.25) 0.5 (Wegovy).

7lbs loss in 5 weeks. Slow and steady…

Dh took a couple of photos of me as I’d hit the half stone mark. No difference from the front photo, but quite a marked difference on the side photo. Less barrel shaped and definitely looking slimmer. I’ve also gone down a couple of hooks on my bra, so all good. No change in shoe size, which I’m relieved about as I have Imelda Marcos tendencies and can’t afford to replace my vast collection of boots and sparkly flip flops.

No real SE’s. Still a bit of constipation, but my trusty magnesium supplements are helping. Still absolutely knackered in the evening and in bed before 9 on most nights.

Would love Mumsnet to reinstate the laughing emoji @Hawkmoth. Defo a NSV 😉

AbundanceofKatherines · 06/06/2025 08:00

Well done on your lb @Crunchymum and 🤞for no SEs today.

Lucky you @Hawkmoth! I still need a mirror to see various parts of me - sizeable overhang (could this be due to caesarean scaring?).

Weigh in day for me:

W7D2
SW 12st 7.5
CW 11st 3.2
Loss this week - 2.2lbs

I have tracked religiously this week, stuck to around 1,000 calories (I am quite short and quite old 🤣). Not doing as well with the protein - having around 50-60g, with a coupe of higher days of 80-100. I have read conflicting advice on this and am happy with my diet at the moment (the happiness might change if my hair starts falling out). Have been active (running & walking & lifting weights) and my muscles look good to me.

Good luck everyone x

PumpKim · 06/06/2025 09:04

I'm on my second 5mg. Jabbed on Wednesday and have been feeling progressively more tired. Feel a bit off colour today and could definitely go back to bed for a snooze rather than a full day at work 🙈
Shotsy app is showing my levels are at the highest yet, so assuming that explains it. Hopefully it will settle as I get used to the 5mg.
In the grand scheme of things I'm still doing really well as far as SEs go so can't really complain.

Same here, i’m soo tired, i could sleep at my desk now, and i’m already thinking about putting my comfies on and going straight to bed when i get home, waste of an evening really but 🤷‍♀️

Ive just put on my desk SAD lamp to energise me, bring back the sun pleeease 🙏

GoGoGovy · 06/06/2025 09:28

@AbundanceofKatherines yes, I’m also struggling with eating enough protein. I now have a Lidl protein shake for lunch ( along with fruit and nuts). It’s highly processed and not something I would normally buy, but at 35g of protein, it does the job.

edited to say I don’t have the protein shake on non- work days. I tend to cook an omelette on those days.

violetmondays · 06/06/2025 10:06

Morning, happy Friday. Week 7 day 1 for me and did my second 3.75mg jab this morning. If I have another hungry week like last week then I might go up to 5 next week. Still, I managed to lose around 1.5-2lb so all is not lost. I've also managed to fit into a couple of smaller bras which is nice.

SW: 13.3
CW: 12.1
Total lost over 6 weeks: 1 stone 2lb

I am hoping to sneak into the 11s this time next week!

Well done on all the losses and NSVs, can't believe were almost 2 months in @wlinewbie0425 😮

Another thing I have noticed is the weight loss from my face. Which is good (for now) but I am slightly worried because I think I have aged 5 years in 5 weeks and don't really want that to continue. I have never really considered messing around with botox or anything like that as I've been lucky enough to have had good skin and look younger than my age, but I might have to think about improvements in the future. Anyone got any advice or thoughts on this? Is this inevitable or can we prevent this? I already take collagen and use a myriad of creams.

PeachSnail · 06/06/2025 10:14

@Crunchymum I'm currently feeling really poorly after having strong SE the past couple of days: retching, burping, nausea, dry mouth... I feel exhausted and have had to rest. I've now got pretty bad diarrhoea. I feel like this must be the MJ, but it's such a strong contrast from last week, when I took exactly the same dose (3.75)... I guess there's also a chance it could be a stomach bug, but it's strange that it should coincide so neatly with peaking MJ levels... Anyway, I think I'm going to lower my dose next week as I can't cope with feeling like this.

Ricoletti · 06/06/2025 10:22

Morning all,

back from city break and had a fab time.
However, I’ve gained 1lb since last week…. 😐

I’m not too stressed about it, and I’m confident I can get it off this week.

Ive eaten a McDonalds TWICE over the last 4 days… which is so out of character for me, before this I’ve probs only eaten McDonalds twice in the last year.
happy meal both times , which filled me up fine and was not insane calorie wise (cheeseburger, small fries and water… and Pokémon cards 🤣🤣🤣 ) .

I also ate some Pringles and half a kitkat.

Annoyingly I didn’t even actually want to eat this stuff and would have preferred proper food, but for various reasons this was what was available so 🤷🏻‍♀️

I felt/still feel quite gross after eating this junk food, sick and sluggish. Bleugh! Which I think shows my body prefers real food , and I won’t be making any habit of this if I can help it.

so, basically I think the spike in salt and sugar , along with not enough water while away, loads of walking and my old foe constipation - has all led to water retention (my fingers and ankles are swollen).

Onwards and upwards. I’m off work today so am planning some healthy meals for the week and will do a big shop. Might even do some meal prep/batch cook if I can be bothered.

I noticed my appetite wasn’t as suppressed , was hungry for 3 meals and not as easily full, but no food noise … due to take 4th 5ml dose on Sunday. Have next pen lined up for after this, 5ml as I’m trying to stay at 5ml as long as it’s working, which I feel it generally is.

Happy Friday to us all. Hope everyone has a great day!

Sallycinnamum · 06/06/2025 10:24

mmorning all!

W6D7 and I've finally hit a stone loss so I'm now 10 stone 9lbs.

After a blip last week I have lost a bit more this week, which may have coincided with my withdrawal bleed on HRT, which tends to make me bloated and retain water.

Due to PCOS I have always found it hard to shift the weight so this has been a miracle drug for me.

7th 2.5mg jab tonight. Regretting ordering 5mg pen now but worse comes to the worse I'll just 2.5 dose out of it if needs be. Bit scared of jumping up!

Lidlbitofmonica · 06/06/2025 10:56

W7D1 here and finally reached my stone, woohoo! It does feel like I still have a long way to go though - maybe this is just because the losses have slowed down, even though I know that slow and steady is the best way to go.

Ricoletti · 06/06/2025 10:58

@Sallycinnamum and @Lidlbitofmonica congratulations on the stone club victories 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Sorry to hear you are feeling poorly.

I hope it passes soon.

I guess I'll have to see how this week goes to know if it's a SE of the MJ or not. I have 3 primary aged kids and I'm on a medication which suppresses my immune system so I'm kind of hoping it was a bug. I don't want to have such severe SE?

Congratulations to all the losses and NSV. As the mantra has become... onwards and downwards we go 😊

Vixs13 · 06/06/2025 13:07

Afternoon everyone,

W7D1 3rd jab of 5mg done last night and down 3.2lbs this week, biggest loss on MJ so far.

Total loss: 4.1lbs on my own (week before starting) and 12.6lbs on MJ.

It was a bad week with 2nd dose of 5mg, worst SE I’ve had since starting. I jab at night but woke up to acid reflux whilst asleep then had diarrhoea (only 1 bout) and the nausea, suppression, burps (no egg burps tho!) was awful lasted 5 days could hardly eat anything but on days 6 &7 was very hungry and made up for it 😂

Was really nervous last night about doing another jab of 5mg but I did it and if I’m bad this week will go down to 3.75mg next week but woke up today feeling fine apart from being freezing but I’ve jabbed in my thigh not my stomach so will see how I get on.

LordJohnGrey · 06/06/2025 19:10

I have been on 5mg for a week now and have no appetite at all. Really struggling to eat.
Wondering if I should go back down to 2.5 as that was working well for me.

Brunocatmon · 06/06/2025 19:45

Hi everyone.

Some really great losses from folks. Ell done everyone.

I've just been reading as I'm decorating ready for my dd's to return to live at home after 3 years away.

I'm on week 6 day 5. I'm still.on 2.5 as the suppression is still good for me. All I've had today was my 300 cal breakfast And now I'm feeling hungry.

I've signed up to a pt who I'm going to be working with 3 x a week from next week so I'm hoping that this will help with toning and strength training aswell as nutrition advice.

Her first thoughts were that I'm not eating enough.

I'm looking forward to it though.

Hoping everyone has a great weekend.

Coventree · 06/06/2025 19:47

Wow, seems like week 6/7 is a bit of a tough one for so many of us. I was definitely more tired last week (week 6) and thought I’d escaped it this week (week 7), but it hit me two days post-jab after work today and now I’m in bed! My 9 year old daughter just said ‘You’re not going to sleep now though, are you?’ Oh yes, I am, my lovely. I’m knackered 🤣

StartingApril2025 · 06/06/2025 21:15

Well done everyone, Love the updates! Did my 7th 2.5mg this eve as had no time this morning before work. Today I had my first shaky funny spell ( which used to happy several times a week before mounjaro) this eve which id always though was low blood sugar but I checked it today and it was fine, I had a protein yoghurt and cereal bar for breakfast and a sandwich meal deal at lunch and the shakes came before dinner even though I didn’t feel hungry, weird. Think it’s another sign I am well ready to go up the dose next pen even though reports of the side effects arn’t encouraging as il be off on holiday on week 2 of 5mg, might count clicks and do lower at 3.75 instead will see! Will weigh in tomorrow but I’m due my period so not expecting any loss this week. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
