We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

So I too have fallen into the week 6 plateau/slight gain group 😩
Official weigh in online tonight was +0.1kg. Not a lot I know but just frustrating as I have done nothing different.
I’m with SheMed so they decide my dosage month by month and I have asked to go up to 7.5mg.
Jabbed another 5mg tonight. Hoping side effects aren’t too bad tomorrow as I’m on a geography field trip with over 100 students tomorrow, with v limited toilet access 😳

AbundanceofKatherines · 05/06/2025 09:18

Sorry to hear about your plateau @toobusytoclean- hopefully you’ll make up for it next week.

Today is jab day for me - 3rd 5mg - and it’s the first time I haven’t been excited to jab. I’ve had a very suppressed week, with mild nausea and have just felt very meh. I have been tempted to go down to 3.75mg to take the edge off it, but I’m going to put my big girl pants on and do the whole 5.

Weigh in day is tomorrow, so I’ll be back in the morning.

BudgieMom · 05/06/2025 09:32

W6D1 here took my 6th dose last night done a 3.75 out of a 5mg pen. So far no side effects except a dry mouth if all goes well I might step up to 5mg next jab! Well done everyone on the fab losses and hope everyone has a great week 😊

Sheldon4k · 05/06/2025 10:18

Morning
Just a quick question, has the jab seemingly got more painful for anyone?
Well pain is probably not the right word, but the last 2 (which have been from the 5mg pen) have stung a fair bit.
It hasn't resulted in a mark or bruise, its just been at the time of jabbing, also no change to the needle they are exactly the same as first lot.
Thank you!

Morning @Sheldon4k- not for me. I’ve never had any pain or sting. In fact this morning’s was totally void of any sensation and no visible mark.

violetmondays · 05/06/2025 10:48

@toobusytoclean sorry about the plateau and hope the field trip goes ok!

@Ricoletti hope you have a fab trip away and hope you're feeling better now @Sheldon4k

@Coventree your blood pressure stats are amazing!! Mine has come down too but not as much as yours.

Congrats on all the losses this week. I haven't been online much the last few days so might have missed a lot of posts. I've also found it really difficult this week, been really hungry and food noise/wanting to snack has returned. I was going to stay on 3.75 for as long as possible but after 1 dose I am now questioning whether to go up to 5 tomorrow or not. Worried about side effects really.

@ymemanresu my take is the same as yours really, there's a risk with any meds and with obesity being the cause of so many other comorbidities (hypertension for me) I think there is a definitely a risk/benefit decision just like there is with HRT or many other medications. I will aim to be on the lowest dose (that works) for the shortest amount of time to try and reduce any risk of long term SEs but essentially we just don't really know. I've also read quite a lot about protective benefits of long term use of GLP-1s on things such as the heart, kidneys etc so whereas there are lots of negative stories in the media and scaremongering, it might turn out to be much more positive.

bridgetreilly · 05/06/2025 10:51

ymemanresu · 04/06/2025 21:25

I’d swap with your morning activities if i could 🤣 Hope the SEs wear off soon. Im bracing myself for it tomorrow as decided to jab today in the end so i’m good this weekend.

Change of subject .. but what are everyone’s thoughts on the potential ( unknown?) long term side effects of MJ?

Daily Wail readers are describing it as ‘poison’ .🙄

My stance is that being overweight/obese can cause life threatening conditions in itself and we never know what’s around the corner anyway, i’m sadly hearing it so frequently of younger people dying unexpectedly.

I’d prefer quality over quantity and believe when your time’s up, your time’s up.. My mum had stage 4b cancer 13 years ago and statistically shouldn’t be here , it’s a long story but i believe she was kept here for good reason.

I’ve also been on ADs for 24 years and started HRT last year without too much concern.

Well, I currently take 9 prescribed pills plus two supplements every day, plus HRT patches. All of it is long term, with the likely prospective of increasing dosages. None of that is good for my body. So if I end up on one long term medication I feel like I am winning. And even if the MJ doesn’t completely kick everything else on the head, that’s okay.

ellieinfrance · 05/06/2025 10:52

Is anyone thinking of moving from 5 to 7.5 yet? I've just done jab 3 at 5 and so far pretty comfortable I think. Also good suppression still so not sure whether I need to move to 7.5. Might see how the next week goes but if still working well might do another 5 pen instead of moving up.

No. I just sort of hold the pen over my chosen spot and let it slide in by gravity. No pain at all.

Ricoletti · 05/06/2025 11:15

@Sheldon4k I’ve found the injections hurt more now. First one I actually couldn’t feel the needle at all. Last one stung a fair bit with some pain on removing the needle.

I figured it was because I had a lot more fat there in first few weeks and there’s less to cushion the blow, so to speak, now I’ve lost some of this weight.

my stomach has shrunk loads, and I’ve now got soft and squishy fat, as well as a fair amount of skin/folds.

Is the week 6 plateau a thing?

I stupidly weighed myself a day early and I'm the same as last week.

So I've lost 14lbs in 6 weeks which is pretty decent but it just feels..... not enough.... if that makes sense? Especially given I've been poorly and had a few days where I ate very little. Hunger back with a vengeance the past few days though!!

I still have 3st (at least!!) to lose so no loss feels a bit rubbish.

I'll weigh again tomorrow - my hair was wet and I hadn't had a number 2 for a few days when I weighed this morning clutching at straws here and I'll do jab 7 (will be 3rd jab of 5mg) and then I'm going to decide if I need to move to 7.5mg.

I did feel it yesterday whereas most other times i hadn’t but it didn’t hurt. I shut my eyes when i do it then check to see if it’s in 🤣

Sheldon4k · 05/06/2025 13:19

@ymemanresu @AbundanceofKatherines @Ricoletti @bridgetreilly I couldn't comment on the method as I actually get my hubby to jab me as I am a wimp!!! I did ask him what he is doing different when stabbing me ( I prepare it all and he just stabs me), he said nothing but maybe he's got a bit more confident and is just stabbing me without taking care. Last nights definitely a stinger on the way in and the way out! I will have to put my big girl pants on and suck it up!

@violetmondaysI am feeling much better thank you 😊. A bit tired today but that will be the jab from last night I imagine. Last Thursday I was ready to say no more jabs as I thought my exhaustion was just the jab but it was obviously a combination of that and the flu bug I had so I know what you mean about worrying about the SE when increasing dose because I had upped mine last week so when I felt crap I was so worried it was SE.

ymemanresu · 05/06/2025 14:29

Anyone noticed their feet have gone slightly smaller? My favourite trainers are definitely looser, weird, i have narrow feet anyway, could be muscle?

Hawkmoth · 05/06/2025 15:34

@ymemanresu if you are lighter, your feet don't spread out as much when you are standing. You might lose a shoe size!

Also can be fluid.

Sheldon4k · 05/06/2025 15:49

@ymemanresu whenever I have lost a decent amount of weight in the past I have always gone down at least a half size, sometimes a full size in certain shoes! Dont expect to be having to replace those do we!!!

violetmondays · 05/06/2025 15:52

@ymemanresu yes mine are definitely smaller or at least thinner. I think generally I have less fluid around my feet and ankles which is something I used to absolutely hate so I would be so happy if that doesn't happen any more.

Beachbabes · 05/06/2025 16:53

@Hawkmoth Well I didn't know that, but it makes complete sense!! Your learn something new everyday 😁

Hawkmoth · 05/06/2025 17:01

I am really hoping not to need to replace shoes. I am incredibly picky and it would be a nightmare!!

Anyway, it's the same logic as only measuring your feet standing up. I keep thinking about elephant feet now! 🐘

RubyJuno · 05/06/2025 17:04

NSV for me… I was feeling a bit despondent as none of my clothes seem to fit differently even though the scales are down over a stone. I was looking back at photos of when I was last this weight and I look better than I do now, the weight is obviously distributed differently. HOWEVER on a whim I decided to try on a couple of dresses and jumpsuits I’ve never been able to fasten or wear comfortably and… they fit! Poss a few pounds to go before they look well-fitting but this is def the little boost I needed. 🥳

ymemanresu · 05/06/2025 19:36

That’s great@RubyJuno Yay 🙌 pleased for you.

This shoe thing was very unexpected! Hopefully my NSV will be getting back into my wedding dress from 2022 at some point. DH is looking forward to that he said 😃

StartingApril2025 · 05/06/2025 22:03

Hi everyone great to hear everyone successes this week, jab number 7 for me tomorrow of 2.5mg, had more “ can’t be bothered with food this week” compared to other weeks so that’s good however must be very low in my system today as I was away on a trip with work today , several hours in car and for first time in weeks I headed straight for the biscuits laid out for the morning cup of coffee . First biscuits in weeks! Also after work before my long journey home I needed food ( wasn’t actually hungry) and was so tempted by these loaded chips that I saw someone eat in the hotel restaurant / they were the exact opposite of healthy and I ordered them, tried not to beat myself up about it and only ate half of the portion but was surprised at how much I wanted them despite all the lovely salads and healthier dishes on the menu. Maybe tiredness, period, low motivation etc. still likely close to my calories today but the quality of the calories have not been good🤪
will jab in the morning before work all being well and hopefully back in track tomorrow ! Looking forward to going up to 5mg after this one is over! I have zero side effects of any sort on 2.5mg so apprehensive of what is to come but inspired to hear you all doing well on 5mg!

StartingApril2025 · 05/06/2025 22:06

@RubyJuno well done on the clothes, lovely boost!
re shoe size, after three pregnancies my feet went up half a size each time and stated the same so I’d be delighted if my feet shrink a bit! I’m1.5 sizes bigger now than 10 years ago!

Hawkmoth · 05/06/2025 22:24

Is being able to see how many of my pubic hairs are actually grey for the first time without hurting my back an NSV? I suppose it must be... But I preferred not knowing.
