We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

well done @BudgieMom & @Sunshineandpool

@Hawkmoth 😂

have the reactions changed for everyone else? there's only thanks, agree and love now. I want more reactions not less!

I only have 3 too!

Coventree · 03/06/2025 07:51

I’m using the app and only have ‘thanks’, I think? Wish there were more - are you using the website?

Coventree · 03/06/2025 08:07

@Hawkmoth nothing beats two dulcolax at night to get things moving…I just have to plan it for days when I’m wfh 🤣

Same and only have thanks too. Wish I had like as so many great posts here with so little time to reply!

@Coventree agreed - a lot of planning needed..I was surprised it took so long to work properly though: almost 24 hours! Will need to take it earlier next time.

It certainly doesn't feel like an 'easy option' when you have so much to think about.

Haha i know what you mean but 3 of these didn’t work the other night, it took 8 extra strength Senokat and 4 sachets of laxido. 😩Magnesium, prunes etc doesn’t work. Can someone remind me of the husk supplements some of you are using please?

Crunchymum · 03/06/2025 10:36

W6D5 - I am still not feeling well. Was up at 2am with a whizzing tummy, feeling incredibly sick and needing the loo for an upset tummy.

I took some Pepto Bismal but haven't eaten anything since dinner last night (not even had a cup of tea today as I can't face it)

Still not sure if I am ill or having SE?

Is it psyllium husk? Be careful, it can go either way, bloat you up and constipate you or the other. Good luck x

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 03/06/2025 11:02

Lost 9.2lbs . Wk 5d1. Steady loss so really pleased! Well done all x

Chunkysewist · 03/06/2025 12:02

Hey all! I'm still alive, had a busy half term away.
I'm W7D4 and 12lbs down in total. 1.6 lbs off this week. Currently on 3.75mg, suppression is just about perfect for me at the moment.

Psyllium husk has worked fab for me in the past for constipation. A couple of glasses and within 24 hours there's a comfortable mass evacuation 😂
Well done on all the losses, I'm still not at the 1 stone mark yet but I will keep chipping away at it 😊

Zebracat · 03/06/2025 12:06

@wlinewbie0425 I agree. I have 5 stone to lose, and I’m eating really sensibly and exercising, but I’ve read some horror stories on MN about weight loss injections. I poster wrote about a friend who has gone from 9 stone to 6, and told her partner it was caused by the stress of the stepchildren. So deranged. It is fertile ground for disordered eating, and there may need to be greater regulation. Not eating makes people really really ill. This is not a criticism of @bridgetreilly , I can actually imagine that happening unintentionally too. I’m trying to eat and drink more because I had a gout flare last week, and more food will protect me, but it is hard. I just forgot I was eating breakfast this morning, and wandered off, much to the dogs delight!

Ricoletti · 03/06/2025 12:40

Hi all , nice to see updates. Well done to all who are trucking on within their own journey.

I did 3rd 5ml jab last night and lo and behold, another angry blotchy reaction at the injection site.

i took extra care this time with injection hygiene (always do, but did extra extra swabbing of skin and the red seal etc), and injected really slowly incase it was due to pushing the meds in skin too quickly.

I just can’t understand it as with my last pen (2.5) I just got a bit of a bruise.

Only thing I can think is that due to ordering a bit early (on advice from medex in case of delivery delay) the one was in the fridge for 2 weeks before I used it. But it’s still in date 🤷🏻‍♀️
I keep it in the door of the fridge and now I’m panicking that this wasn’t cold enough and I’ve let it go ‘bad’ somehow ?!

im keeping next pen in the main bit of fridge as will be another 2 weeks before i use it (arrived today? ).

Its a brand new fridge and I feel like its really good at maintaining temp (I’ve noticed food is lasting longer than when in older more knackered fridge). I’m going to buy a thermometer to put in the door , to get an idea of the temp - I feel like scooby doo , trying to work out what may have gone wrong with this pen. I’m also resigned that it may just be the stronger dose concentration is making me react, and I will just have to accept an itchy rash for a few days a week.

it’s disheartening, as my poor squishy belly already looks rather… troubled… at the moment, and the red blotch isn’t helping with the aesthetics !! I’m guessing this is just the way the fat is breaking down , but it’s very lumpy and bumpy right now with random stretch marks re appearing after years of being hidden away because they were so stretched out 🤣

PoisonIvy89 · 03/06/2025 15:19

very well said @wlinewbie0425 !

@Ricoletti In the door shelves is the warmest part of the fridge. I have a fridge thermometer sitting beside my pen and check it a bit obsessively.

well done @Chunkysewist @Gymnopediegivesmethewillies

@Coventree yes web browser on laptop mostly. I gave up using it on my phone when that stupid endless scrolling thing started. The page numbers came back but it's easier to use the site on the laptop, the ads make it very difficult on phone and I try to limit my daytime browsing or I get nothing done so it's better for me to not have constant access to everything on my phone.

Crazycatknitter92 · 03/06/2025 17:42

I'm due to order my 3rd pen and bit unsure if I should stay on 2.5 or go up to 5. Has anyone stayed on 2.5 more than 2 months? If so how did you get on in month 3?

Flowerchild547 · 03/06/2025 17:49

@Ricoletti have you checked that the needles are the right size?
I have no idea what the right size is but if they’re too big then maybe that might cause issue?

@wlinewbie0425 completely agree with your post. I was only wondering the other day about how providers safeguard against disordered eating as it seems almost too easy to get.

Ricoletti · 03/06/2025 17:55

@Flowerchild547 I just use the needles that come with the pen. It’s not the actual point of injection that’s getting sore, but a reaction of the size of a 50p coin around where I’ve injected. It’s red and inflamed and itchy!

Ricoletti · 03/06/2025 17:57

@PoisonIvy89thanks, I’m going to get a thermometer

PoisonIvy89 · 03/06/2025 18:27

@Ricoletti I bought one just to keep an eye on the mounjaro, I don't care about the food in there but the precious magical liquid must be kept safe!! I had to buy a whole new fridge too after buying the thermometer. This mounjaro stuff is going to bankrupt me 😂

@Crazycatknitter92 everyone here started around the same time so won't be on their 3rd pen yet. Might be worth checking out the longer running threads for info on that.

How is your suppression?

How is your weightloss?

I plan to stay as low as I can but I had to move up to 5mg on my second pen as 2.5mg didn't do much for me. If 5mg works then I'll stick with it (I'm 2 doses into 5mg and feeling quite poorly. I think I'll need week 3 to see if it's S.E's though). I'll order once I've taken 3rd dose and see how I get on.

bridgetreilly · 03/06/2025 19:48

Thanks @wlinewbie0425 and @Zebracat. I promise I am not doing deranged eating! I am NHS prescribed and my nurse told me to eat what I fancy which is what I have been doing. I just wasn’t expecting to get to the point of not remembering to eat. I live on my own and tend not to have set mealtimes anyway, so it’s very easy just not to notice. I do find that on the day after the jab I just can’t face eating anything until the evening. But most of the time I’m having one meal, and then snacks whenever I fancy it. I have stocked up on food today, and am making sure to check that I am eating. It just feels such a weird thing to have to think about.

Flowerchild547 · 03/06/2025 20:15

@Ricoletti how strange!!
I only mentioned that as I noticed I had different needles given at 2.5 and 5 and when I used the 2.5 needle with the 5 then I had a raised circle around the injection site. But when I used the correct ones that actually came with the pen it was fine.

I think I read that it can be stored at room temp anyway (I may be wrong about this, off to google) once opened so hopefully it’s nothing to do with your pen storage!

Sallycinnamum · 03/06/2025 20:34

Evening all. W6D4 and I've had a bit of a whoosh and lost another 2lbs so I've now lost a stone!

Medexpress approved my 5mg prescription in the end but I don't know if I've been too hasty as the 2.5mg is working with a vengeance and I'm finding it hard to eat as I have such strong suppression.

Anyway I've got 2 more 2.5 jabs to go so i a can always count clicks and carry on the lower dose on the 5mg pen if need be.

Sorry you're feeling rough @Crunchymum

toobusytoclean · 03/06/2025 22:26

W6D6 and even though I am on 5mg I am hungry and craving salty snacks tonight.
thank goodness there is nothing in the cupboards - not even bread for toast as a mouse got into the cupboard and ate it’s way into the bread bag!
It could be because I didn’t like the veggie noodles from the school canteen for lunch, so didn’t eat my usual size lunch, but I ate a normal size dinner.
how long are you generally kept on 5mg? I feel like I need to move up again. Still haven’t joined the 1st club, so my body is taking its time

bridgetreilly · 03/06/2025 22:33

Btw, is anyone else having weird dreams on MJ?
