We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

Morning all!!
SW 17.7
CW 16.3
WK5 loss 2.5lbs

Total loss 1st 4lb in 5 weeks - this stuff is amazing!!!!
I stayed with the 2.5mg pen and it’s still giving me loads of suppression, zero food noise so I’m planning to stick with it until the food noise creeps in or my losses plateau!!
Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend!!!

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 24/05/2025 09:48

Hi all. Late to joining. I’m on W4 D5 and have lost half a stone. I was pleased with that, not hungry but trying to eat sensibly, upping protein, no sugar cravings, not interested in alcohol at all. BUT the last two days I have been starving, can’t stop grazing and have put 2lbs back on. I’m so despondent. I’m due to up the dose to 5mg on Monday so really hoping that it’s just a blip. Good luck to all.

Zebracat · 24/05/2025 10:16

Welcome @Gymnopediegivesmethewillies . I’m sure that is just a blip . Sounds like you are ready for the next stage.

Ricoletti · 24/05/2025 10:19

Congrats to all for these wonderful achievements! happy Saturday everyone x

Ricoletti · 24/05/2025 10:26

@Gymnopediegivesmethewilliesi got pretty hungry a few days before I went up to 5ml too. I thinks it’s a sign that I was ready to move up a dose.
your healthy eating sounds really great and it’s all good progress , good habits forming and setting you up for a healthy new approach to food… it’s totally ok to have a blip, these are such early days !

Maybe your body just needed extra calories after a big deficit? I always think ‘Who knows’ what’s going on
With our appetites and bodies sometimes. or Maybe you were fighting off a tiny little bug you picked up and your body needed the extra fuel to stop being poorly?

I got really hungry one day then realised I was getting the start of a cold and my body maybe just needed a boost.

I’m trying to trust the process. sorry if that doesn’t help or feels minimising.i don’t mean it to.

I think you are doing brilliantly and I can’t wait to hear about your 5ml experience. You got this 🙌🏻

BeachBodyAim · 24/05/2025 10:48

Confession time!!!

Ive used the golden dose from pen 1 for my 6th jab (syringes didn’t arrive in time for jab 5!)
So I realise I’m out of the ‘use in 30 days’ by about 10 days but I’m going to see how it goes and if by midweek, it doesn’t feel like it’s ‘working’ I’ll jab with the new pen!!!
I got 0.7ml from the pen so a slightly larger dose
I will report back with my findings!!!!!!!!

Seahawk80 · 24/05/2025 10:49

Thanks for the advice @PeachSnailI did it! I
like to run on an empty stomach which is hard with wine sloshing around but I feel
great now! Pre MJ I 100% would have given up and made a bacon sandwich 🤣. Hope you manage a healthy weekend away and hope you enjoyed your run!

welcome @Gymnopediegivesmethewillieso have definitely started to feel a bit hungry and ready for meals on the last week of 2.5. I’m going to do the golden dose and then move up although it’s interesting what you said about a cold @Ricolettias I’ve had a bad one this week and still not 100% so I’ll see how next week goes.

Sunshineandpool · 24/05/2025 11:21

Morning gang!

W5 D1
SW: 19st 2
CW: 17st 11

I was so happy to lose 2lbs this week! It's been a good week although only made it to the gym once. But I did have 2 long walks along the seafront.

I can't wait until I can actually see a difference in the mirror, though!

I'm still battling to get my 90g of protein per day in but I am doing better as generally getting 70-80g which is up from around 50-55g. Also trying to up my fluid intake. I'm generally drinking 1.5L or close of water everyday. And I'm trying to add in a cup of black tea at bedtime.

However, I was delighted that my body fluid had gone up ever so slightly this week (still insufficient, though) and I'd not lost any muscle this week. So the drinking water/eating protein/strength training is working!

PeachSnail · 24/05/2025 11:25

Well done @Seahawk80! 💪🫶 So pleased you got out there and grabbed that bit of time for yourself! For me, running is as much about mental health as it is about physical health. It really helps me manage my anxiety. And yes - I'm now back from a very blustery run along the seafront... So definitely feeling invigorated!

Enjoy a fab bank holiday weekend everyone 😘

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 24/05/2025 11:46

@Ricoletti @Zebracat @Seahawk80 wow! What a greeting! Thank you. I didn’t realise how brilliant MJ had been until it ‘stopped working’ and I couldn’t stop thinking about food. It’s so reassuring to know that others have had the same experience and I’m not alone. I was really happy with 2lbs a week and if that is what a higher dose will bring back then I’m here for it. You’re all fab and I’m proud of you all for being proactive.

Crunchymum · 24/05/2025 12:03

First 5mg dose done last night and so far so good.

Been up since 6.45am and just feeling the rumblings of hunger now. I don't usually eat breakfast until about 11am anyway as I'm rarely hungry until then.

Will be interesting to see how the rest of the day goes. I normally eat late. Breakfast: 11am, lunch: 2.30pm and dinner 7.30pm. Although usually at the weekend I'm already thinking about all my meals (Saturday we don't cook so we have a take away or we go out to eat or have an M&S meal deal etc. Saturday is my most exciting meal of the week) but at present I can't even be bothered to stick a slice of soda bread in the toaster, let alone think about dinner.

violetmondays · 24/05/2025 12:09

Welcome @Gymnopediegivesmethewillies deffo just a blip and sign for ready to move up. Good luck!

violetmondays · 24/05/2025 12:18

I’m going to a food festival today 😬 Not sure how this is going to go!! I’ve got a banana in my bag in case there’s nothing healthy.

BonnieClydeSW15 · 24/05/2025 13:23

Hi all! Boy this thread moves fast but it’s great hearing everyone’s stories. W5d3 and on 5mg. Yesterday I felt like I had been hit by a bus! Sooooo tired & very, very nauseous. The nausea has lifted a bit today but not the tiredness. My body feels reallly heavy & I just keep nodding off. I’m hoping it will pass soon! But suppression is good & I know it is worth the suffering because I do feel better in myself! So keep going everyone. Life is always a rollercoaster ride so it’s worth just chucking up your hands and screaming out loud! 🎢

ymemanresu · 24/05/2025 14:29

Hi @Gymnopediegivesmethewillieswell done on your loss so far. 👏

Day 4 on 5mg and still feeling strong suppression. I have been sooo tired and going to bed too late so i had some wine last night to make me sleep longer but regretting it now fgs 🤦‍♀️😩feel a bit sick

cutthegraa · 24/05/2025 14:43

I'm just joining this so a bit late to the party!

SW - 11.12
CW - 10.13
GW - 9.12

I have done 4 weeks on 2.5mg with good suppression and minor side effects. But took first 5mg dose on Thursday and feeling rank! Exhausted, sore head and forcing myself to eat.....wish I had stayed on 2.5mg!

Gymnopediegivesmethewillies · 24/05/2025 16:10

I’m glad I read this, although I’m sorry some of you are feeling rough. I’m going to London for 2 nights with my daughter tomorrow and I usually inject on a Monday lunchtime so was thinking of having it a day early because I don’t want to take it with me, but seeing that it has knocked a few of you about I think I’ll leave it until I get home on Tuesday night. I’m glad I found you all x

Coventree · 24/05/2025 17:40

I echo all the ‘tired on 5mg’ posts too, so that sounds like a sensible plan @Gymnopediegivesmethewillies 😊

Glad I’m not the only one with an emergency stop button 🤣 @wlinewbie0425 and @PeachSnail!

Looking forward to hearing how the food festival went and if the banana helped! @violetmondays

PoisonIvy89 · 24/05/2025 18:11

great loss @Scousebloke, congrats on 1st and good luck with 5mg!

@catchingzzzeds another joining the 1st club, well done! i hope to join you all there soon

well done @SassyLimeHelper , yep portion sizes are a bit shocking when you first start weighing and tracking everything

@Seahawk80 glad you're feeling better after your run

@PeachSnail hope you have a great weekend by the sea

@BeachBodyAim great loss!! I'm sticking with 2.5mg for now too

@Gymnopediegivesmethewillies you'd have to do a serious amount of grazing to gain 2lbs of fat in just a couple of days so it's probably just constipation or fluid retention if you're snacking on salty things or maybe hormones, apologies for grossness on your first post but we talk a lot about poop here 😂

@BeachBodyAim please do keep us updated if you notice any difference in efficacy

@Sunshineandpool great loss! it'll take a while to see the difference and then it'll take a while longer to actually believe it, but we'll all get there soon! (and then I bet we'll spend a whole lot more time standing in front of the mirror after avoiding it for so long 😝)

@Crunchymum good luck with 5mg!

@violetmondays that's a lot of temptation, good luck!

@BonnieClydeSW15 scream if you wanna go faster! hope the tiredness settles down a bit

@cutthegraa looks like the jump to 5 is hitting a lot of people hard, have you considered counting clicks to move up slower?

It's hard to keep up with the thread some days so well done to any losses I've missed. Everyone is doing so great and it's so inspiring and motivating on the days when I need a little bit more willpower. Thank you all for sharing the ups and downs and tips and tricks. I'm so glad I found this little community, it's making this whole journey a lot more fun having people to share it with.

First 5mg jab was Thursday evening and I feel slightly as if I've been hit with a brick! Trying to work out how much of it is the end of term feeling and what is extra MJ related. I feel incredibly tired, although then felt a bit better when I made myself go out earlier. I have since then had a nap though! Not a sore throat as such, but feels like I should have a sore throat, and have a bit of a cough - again, coincides with the end of term. Trying to be a bit more aware of calorie counting this week, I think over the last few weeks I've probably not been eating enough. I really want this to be a maintainable change. Have just started using electrolytes. Is anyone using any extra supplements? I've seen some stuff about collagen? The tablets sounds less hideous than the powders! So many well dones to everyone, loving checking in here for support and ideas x

Starting to feel a bit nervous about the 5mg jab, seems to be quite a few negative reports 😬. I'm due to take my first 5mg on Wednesday.

I use the electrolyte powders from vidrate, I ordered the 30 day free trial. I've found them really nice, not sure yet whether to continue with the subscription mainly due to cost, so I might try some cheaper ones from home bargains to see if the difference is worth it.

I also take collagen from Ancient & Brave. I have a scoop in my coffee every morning. Can't taste it at all.

On top of that I take a yakult and apple cider vinegar gummies. My SIL recommended those for gut health and avoiding the dreaded sulphur burps. Haven't had them so far but no idea if it's down to the gummies.

I take VitD and VitB supplements too but I've taken those for years.

I'm also doing the vidrate free trial. The coconut ones are a combination of flashbacks of drinking malibu as a teenager, and neat suncream! They're much more drinkable than some of the others though. I had literally no side effects at 2.5mg, but still think I was probably right to move up. I don't think feeling like this will last long - fingers crossed. And even with feeling like this, MJ is the only thing that has helped me start shifting weight in years so I'm prepared to put up with it for a bit! Good luck with your jab - report back!

Sheldon4k · 24/05/2025 20:13

Hi all, had a busy couple of days so just had a read through some of the thread that I have missed.
Well done on all losses, be they scales, NSV or measurements.

It seems that the 5mg dose seems to be causing a bit of a stir. As I used my 5th dose I only increased to just under 3mg, and this seems to have left me exhausted and not hungry at all. Usually by this eve each week I am starting to think about food and eat a bit more or feel a bit more hungry, but this week i'm still feeling pretty good suppression and no food noise up to now.

Therefore I have decided I will definitely stick at a 3.75mg dose on my first week on 5mg pen.

So all you secret jabbers.... have any of you had any comments from children? Im not doing this in secret, however I havent openly told my kids ( why would I? They are kids). We always eat as a family and my 16 yr old today actually asked why I hadnt eaten all my dinner! I was caught a bit off guard and didnt really know what to say.
DH said something along the lines of , "well she just ate 2 boiled eggs that is why she hasn't finished it", but then he said its not just today, she hasn't been finishing her dinners for a while now....

I did make up something along the lines of 'because I am watching what I eat and trying to stop eating when I am full, rather than continuing to eat even when I have had enough. Hence consuming more than I need and ultimately putting on weight'.

He kind of seemed worried though, im not really sure whether I should say anything else or leave it be.

Any thoughts??

Sheldon4k · 24/05/2025 20:14

Oh and to add... I did get into the 10's, still 0.8lb offf of that 1st though... grrrrrr!!

Scousebloke · 24/05/2025 20:28

I just joined the 5mg club. Feeling a tad nervous.
