We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

W4D1 here, just went to the pharmacist for my 5g pen. 8.5lb down and 3 inches off my waist - actuslly feels like more off the bottom of my stomach!
Has anyone found any more side effects with the 5mg dose? Everyone is doing so well , congrats to us all 😀

I was exhausted the day after my first 5mg dose, which was new for me. Back to normal today, though.

Flowerchild547 · 23/05/2025 14:38

Wow everyone has done amazingly! Congratulations!

After my panic of putting 2lbs on overnight, 2 days later those lbs have gone so I’m pretty certain it was hormonal after all! Fingers crossed now for a good loss this week!
I’m 15lbs down since starting just over 5 weeks ago. When I dieted last year, it took me 9 weeks to get to that so I’m really pleased with this progress!

Day 2 of 5mg and I’m currently just the other side of the peak according to Shotsy.

No SEs so far but the suppression is massive. Couldn’t face my usual breakfast of yogurt, fruit, oats and chia seeds so had a mini slice of toast with a scraping of butter and marmite. Couldn’t face much lunch so opened a John West lite tuna & beans and managed about 2/3rds. It’s bizarre.

Thought I’d share I managed to get that “golden dose” out of my pen! Quick and simple! An extra week for free! Yay!

Coventree · 23/05/2025 19:20

Lovely to hear everyone’s updates ❤️

I mentioned yesterday that I thought I was feeling something after over 4 weeks/5 jabs of nothing…well, today at lunch and again just now, I was happily tucking into my salads when bam! It was like hitting a wall of ‘nope, no more food’s going in’. No build-up, no feeling a bit full, just an instant STOP. And that was it, half-way through eating, I’m done. I made sure I finished the protein elements, but that’s perfect - no nausea, no negative effects so far (except from tiredness and constipation, but both are manageable), just a satisfied ‘I’ve had enough now’ feeling. And I haven’t drank alcohol since Easter apart from my son’s birthday one Saturday, and I poured myself a small glass of wine tonight…but two sips in, I’ve enjoyed the taste, but I don’t want any more than that. FINALLY!!! 🎉 Feeling a bit emotional 😁

bridgetreilly · 23/05/2025 19:54

I am really hopeful that by the time our two years of prescription is up, there will be a long term maintenance pill that we can move onto.

Zebracat · 23/05/2025 20:04

Had my official 4 week weigh in today. Down 5.3 kilos and lost 6 inches from my waist. I’ve weighed myself lower, but I was really constipated. But I have a gout flare, so I do need to be careful going forwards. I’ve averaged about 1500 calories, but that may be too low and hence the gout. I’ve also not drunk enough so that needs to change. We went out today and I had a nice time choosing my clothes. Everything looked ok. That is NOT normal.

StartingApril2025 · 23/05/2025 20:05

Well done on everyone’s progress and for those who have started 5mg. Saw my doctor this evening and he wanted to keep me at 2.5mg as I lost 1stone in 4 weeks which maybe is a little too fast he says- my calories this last month have been very low so maybe il have some more this month and not be as strict. Though I’m sure a lot is water weight! Basically he said if you go too low your body starts to fight against the weight loss as shoots your metabolisms , also if start too low you have no where to reduce to later if need to. Wish we’d had that chat a month ago! Overall though I’m happy this month to stay on 2.5mg and see how we go!

PoisonIvy89 · 23/05/2025 20:20

@Coventree oh my gosh your post made my eyes leak, I'm so super duper happy for you!!!!

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:51

@Coventree I can feel your bliss in this post. I’m so so happy for you ❤️

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:52

@Zebracat I LOVE that you enjoyed choosing what to wear and felt happy and comfortable in your choices. I’m sorry to hear about the gout, sounds like you have a good plan in place 👍🏻

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:53

@StartingApril2025 amazing progress 🙌🏻
helpful info (if not a little delayed on their part!) re calories and metabolism from GP too.

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:54

@Cravingpotatoes good job on the golden dose. Shaves a fair bit off the price if we can squeeze 5 weeks out of each pen x

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:56

@AbundanceofKatherines I got that too when starting 5… mouth stubbornly declining even the mention of food! Good job for getting a bit of something in to you though. I’ve found this mega suppression has settled as my first week of 5ml is almost up x

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:58

@Flowerchild547 awesome progress. I defo fluctuate over the week… especially if a bit constipated 🫣 I’m due my period this week and don’t anticipate I will lose on the scale as feel pretty puffed up with retained water. Hormone weight is a thing!!

Ricoletti · 23/05/2025 20:59

And big massive whoop and cheer for everyone else that is making amazing progress , sorry I’ve missed some. This thread moves fast !

Caddycat · 23/05/2025 22:31

That's brilliant news @Coventree !

I've decided to stick to 1.25mg for now as we have a nice week end planned and I didn't want to have any bad SE. I have some suppression and not as much food noise as before so I think it's working, although it could definitely be more. I might go up to 45 clicks next week, as the hunger and food noise were definitely there on day 5 last week. I don't mind using a little bit of will power for now as I still have it 🤣 It's w3d2 and I've lost 4.6kg, happy with that.

Coventree · 24/05/2025 06:26

Thanks guys 😍. 👏 for all the losses and NSVs. Hope everyone has a happy, healthy Saturday!

Scousebloke · 24/05/2025 07:03

End of week 5 for me today.
Lost another 4lb this week meaning i join the 1 stone (exactly) lost club. Happy days.
6th jab tonight. After 5 including golden dose at 2.5mg i am moving up to 5mg tonight. Excited.

catchingzzzeds · 24/05/2025 07:31

Well done everyone 👏🏻 I have hit the stone mark too, we’re really doing this!

I'm thrilled with the losses but I am struggling, I’m hungry ALL the time. I have a 5mg pen to start next week and will begin with 3.75, keeping everything crossed for some suppression. As well as being hungry (despite 3 good meals a day) I’ve had very little energy and I haven’t done my workout once 🙄 Here’s hoping next week is better.

Happy weekend everyone 🩷

SassyLimeHelper · 24/05/2025 07:45

Morning everyone! Congratulations on all of the losses and NSVs! I've just finished week 4 and have lost 15lb in total - going to take the golden dose today before starting 5mg next weekend. I think I maybe should have stuck with 2.5mg now, but I can always drop back down next month. My scales are saying I'm 30% of the way to my goal weight, which isn't bad for 28 days!
My husband says he can really see a difference but I'm not really seeing it and no one else seems to have noticed yet. Never mind though, I really feel like I'm doing a lot of working on reframing my relationship with food - I feel a lot happier and mentally lighter, now that I'm not overeating and spending every day filled with guilt because I'd inhaled 5 biscuits. I'm learning a lot about portion sizes too and, although I should/did already know this (in theory), weighing out a reasonable portion of pasta is changing the habit of a lifetime for me.
I've also started taking Wild Dose for Blocked Bellies and it's been a game changer for me, after prunes, chia seeds and psyllium husk didn't work!

violetmondays · 24/05/2025 07:57

Congrats @SassyLimeHelper @catchingzzzedsand @Scousebloke for hitting the first stone 👏🏻 (and anyone else who has lost as any loss is a win right!)

wlinewbie0425 · 24/05/2025 08:29

Amazing to see all the progress in all ways scale, tape measure and otherwise! That’s most of us a full month in now as we reach the end of May - it’s fab also seeing how busy the May starters thread is too now and knowing an even busier June one is likely to pop up shortly given how much more information has been in the wider media even in the short time since we all started.

well done @Scousebloke@catchingzzzeds@SassyLimeHelper@Caddycat@StartingApril2025@Zebracat@Lidlbitofmonicaand anyone else I’ve missed!

@Coventree I’ve been having that immediate STOP while eating thing too. I can be enjoying and have a forkful en route to my mouth then suddenly have to put it back down and can’t take another bite!

We had family over for dinner last night (they don’t know and I won’t be sharing about this) I managed to eat normally (did few queasy whilst making the dinner though) and I even enjoyed a couple of small glasses of wine, but in the past I would have had a few more after the meal and just didn’t want to at all so made a cuppa! Odd to see leftover wine in fridge this morning, that’s not a thing that normally happens here.

Seahawk80 · 24/05/2025 08:36

Congrats to everyone on their losses! @Coventreeso glad you finally had suppression, it must be really hard to keep going when you don’t. As others have said the difference in effect on people is wild and just goes to show that there is no one size fits all!

im feeling a bit cross with myself, was planning on a couple of drinks last night and DH has had a really stressful week, we had a bit of a row as I said he shouldn’t let it ruin our evening (obviously he can rant about work etc as much as he likes but it’s more that he sometimes lets everything get on top of him and is then so negative and won’t think about any positives / things he can control etc). Anyway we sorted it out and then I stayed up and had a couple more drinks with him and now I feel crap today and that it was such a waste of calories…I should have just gone to bed and let him wallow. I guess I just need to remember how this feels and learn from it, I wanted to go for a run today but feel knackered and hungover and angry with myself.

PeachSnail · 24/05/2025 08:58

Congrats on all the losses! Lovely to hear everyone's progress ♥️

@Coventree@wlinewbie0425I also have that dead stop thing with appetite! I was pretty hungry for lunch yesterday and I was tucking into a nice salad and then all of a sudden - wump! I can't eat another morsel. It's like slamming into a brick wall. So strange! But also pretty useful... I think one of my main problems was portion control previously, so it's definitely helping with that.

@Seahawk80don't be too harsh on yourself. It's natural to want to let off some steam and have a few drinks on a Friday night... And I'm sure your DH appreciated being able to vent to you (even if it turned the vibe quite negative). Get some coffee down you and go for a run - you'll feel refreshed after!

I'm away with my family by the seaside for the weekend. So there will be lots of pub lunches to navigate... Will need to try to avoid all the grease and stodge as it can make me feel pretty nauseous.

Anyway, I also had a crappy night's sleep as DD was up in the night with a sickness bug. I'm currently downing the coffee and will shortly be going for a nice long run along the coast 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Hoping it'll clear away the cobwebs!
