We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

For protein shakes, I blend 2 raw eggs, a banana and some milk and ice, delicious!
For anyone that doesn’t fancy consuming raw eggs, try to think about the number of times you have licked raw cake mixture out of a bowl! Also UPF free 😋

toobusytoclean · 22/05/2025 13:44

Medication review done and have been told my blood pressure is “on the low side” whatever that means. Think from a sneaky peak the top number was 102. Normally I’m 130.
I will look through other threads, but has anyone on here heard, seen, read anything about mj and blood pressure?

violetmondays · 22/05/2025 13:52

@Coventree @Sweetspinach @Crunchymum and others who are disappointed with their losses - it's worth remembering that actually 2.5 is not supposed be a therapeutic dose and only really to get your body used to it to reduce side effects. And I know everyone is different and some have lost more than others but remember as well we are all different sizes to begin with, some people will have more to lose than others and some will lose really quickly in the beginning and others won't until they get the dose right for them. I don't think you're doing anything wrong and it will happen soon.

Its week 4 day 7 for me, I have felt much hungrier the last few days, I've also been away with work and thought about food a lot more and probably eaten more (whilst still making good choices). I don't think I will have lost much this week but hoping to drag a slightly larger golden dose out of the 2.5 pen if my syringes get delivered in time tomorrow.

One thing I have noticed it I feel really calm at the moment. I almost missed my train to a work event yesterday and normally I would have been super stressed but I was just like, ah well, I will just buy a new ticket if I miss it. Also haven't got stressed with the kids arguing and being rude to me. Just feel really calm and laid back - is this because of the MJ I wonder? Anyone else feel like that?

violetmondays · 22/05/2025 14:12

@toobusytoclean I’ve done some reading on this as I’ve also got hypertension and I started meds just before MJ. Apparently it can lower blood pressure but not sure if it’s directly or indirectly from weight loss.

My readings have steadily gone down since starting MJ but not sure which is responsible, perhaps both…

bridgetreilly · 22/05/2025 14:35

First 5mg dose last night and I feel really crap today. I know I need to eat something but I just can’t face it.

Sallycinnamum · 22/05/2025 14:42

Afternoon all.

W4D6 and 11bs off in total so very nearly at the stone mark and in the 10s!!

Stuck with 2.5mg and actually it's really worked this week with suppression working around day 3/4 which is odd as levels are dropping.

New 2.5mg pen is in the fridge ready for tomorrow!

Sheldon4k · 22/05/2025 14:48

Well i decided to go ahead with the 5th dose last night. I got just under 3mg from the pen so decided I would 5th week it on that as a stepping stone.
I pretty much feel the same as week 1 where I didnt feel much at all... ie not really any hunger or food noise, no real SE... but gosh I am soooo tired!!!! I have just been and had an hour and a bit in the gym and I feel like every single movement took so much effort! But that could be because I only really managed a bit of porridge this morning (not because I was full as such, I just wasn't really feeling it). I did have protein intake with my collagen in my cuppa thou.

Anyone else feeling extra tired after upping their dose?

And to all those worried about the syringe method (I was one of you too, but it was actually super easy! )

Yorkshiregirl10 · 22/05/2025 14:49

@Pinkapron as someone who doesn't like eggs or bananas I'm horrified at the thought 😂😂 but glad you've been able to fine a good protein burst that works for you.

@bridgetreilly make sure you're having plenty water and try nibbling on something small like grapes or cucumber sticks.

@Sallycinnamum congrats on the loss! That's fantastic.

Like a lot of people, I'm on week 4 and finding the suppression fairly minimal now, earlier weeks I was good until day 5. I've got the 5mg pen in the fridge but aiming for 3.75ml golden dose next.
I'm W4D3 and lost 3.6kg so far, which I know is a healthy and sustainable rate but I wish it was a little more.

Well done! I think we started around the same weight.. I am desperately fighting for the 10s... but this last week has seen the scales hover at 11st 0.5lbs teasing me!!!
Im hoping tomorrow will be the day as the day after my jab i dont tend to eat much. Haha!

When im feeling like that i try just to eat a boiled egg or a few slices of thin cooked Ham. More so for the protein side of it.

The last week has been slow going. I think it's tapered down to 1.5lbs a week but I knew I'd need at least 3 months on it so that's fine.

I am still getting mild nausea now and again so won't be moving up to 5mg unless absolutely necessary but open to it if need be.

Seahawk80 · 22/05/2025 18:44

Hi, can I join please? Haven’t been on MN for ages but always really loved being on the TTC / pregnancy/ pregnancy after loss threads and all the support and comradeship! I’m 44 and decided to start MJ as still haven’t lost the baby weight from DS 2 who is now 3.5!
I started on MJ 30 April at 13st 13 and am now 12st13 so a stone in total which I’m happy with. Had almost zero side effects, just a dry mouth but did feel awful after a work event with a 3 course meal!
I’m going to try the “golden dose” from my 2.5 pen next week and then am debating on moving up to 5 as 2.5 seems to work well for me but I am noticing a bit of hunger at the end of the week.

Coventree · 22/05/2025 19:41

Hi @Seahawk80 and welcome! Great losses so far, well done to you, @Sallycinnamum and all others!

@Pinkapron sorry, but you’ve not convinced me 😂

Hope you’ve managed to get something inside you @bridgetreilly

Interesting observation @violetmondays - I’m losing through willpower but not felt the ‘mental’ clarity/calmness so I shall look forward to a bit of that if it kicks in soon. My blood pressure has come down too but difficult to know if that’s the weight loss or MJ or a bit of both.

violetmondays · 22/05/2025 19:52

Welcome @Seahawk80 and congrats on your loss so far. Good to have you on board!

violetmondays · 22/05/2025 20:05

Good news on the blood pressure though @Coventree!

Ricoletti · 22/05/2025 20:19

Interesting to hear about people’s experience of low blood pressure.
I think mines dropped… I don’t get it measured so can’t be sure.

I generally have quite low blood pressure (ready my fainting couch!) so this isn’t great for me. I get dizzy when I bend down, stand up too quickly etc. this has been an issue in past, but I definitely notice it way more now on MJ.

Seahawk80 · 22/05/2025 20:47

Thanks for the welcome 🤗. Looking forward to having a proper read through the thread and hearing how everyone has been getting on!

Scousebloke · 22/05/2025 20:54

Welcome @Seahawk80
@Ricoletti if you are concerned about your blood pressure maybe invest in a monitor so you can keep your eye on it. They are quite cheap and very easy to use.
If money is tight because you are spending a fair bit on mounjaro you can get free apps on your phone where you just place a finger on the screen for a minute and it gives you a reading.

Ricoletti · 22/05/2025 20:56

Thanks @Scousebloke, that’s good info!

to be honest I’m not too worried. I’m generally on the low side but avoid doing things that make me dizzy.

is that bad? Is low blood pressure dangerous? I always assumed it was less worrying than high blood pressure 🤷🏻‍♀️

Ricoletti · 22/05/2025 20:59

Oh dear. I’ve just googled ‘is low blood pressure dangerous?’ And now I’m not as blasé about it 🤣

might buy a cheap BP monitor off Amazon…

Sheldon4k · 22/05/2025 20:59

@Sallycinnamummy losses have tapered to that too, however I did decide to move up as I hadn't really suffered on 2.5 and I had noticed a fair bit of food noise creeping back in.
After my just under 3mg 5th dose yesterday, I plan on doing 3.75mg doses rather than 5mg if thats okay and still no bad SE, before considering the need to move to 5 for the following pen.
I had planned I would 100% carry on until my holiday and see how it had gone to that point. Then make further decisions upon my return.
I dont want to go up past 5 before then as due to the length of time I am away I will have to drop back to 2.5mg anyway.

Hopefully we will both get down to the 10s soon!

ymemanresu · 22/05/2025 21:41

Hi @Seahawk80👋 and @Sheldon4kyes me too i am sooo tired. Day 2 on 5mg . Took a nap when i got home from work as i really needed it. I take ginseng in the morning for a boost as i’m not a morning person at all 😩

Vixs13 · 22/05/2025 21:58

Hi everyone

Ive not posted in the new thread yet but been reading through it. Well done on all the losses!

Well.. I tried to do the 5th dose tonight out of the 2.5mg pen and I managed to draw it all out easy enough but by the time I had primed it and got the air bubbles out it wasn’t enough for another 2.5mg dose so decided to scrap it and start on the 5mg pen. Quite nervous about it I’m not going to lie! But this last week I’ve felt nothing with the 2.5mg so do think I needed to go up. Weigh day in the morning will up date then!

bridgetreilly · 22/05/2025 22:02

Thanks all. In the end I’ve had a small portion of sushi, half an apple and a few nuts. Feeling a lot better for it!

ellieinfrance · 22/05/2025 22:33

First dose at 5 just done. Off to bed slightly nervous....!
