We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

Well done on the losses everyone! I am at the end of week 4. 12.6lbs down (slightly gutted to have not hit the 1st I was hoping for, however mid period and I know I am holding water at the mo so not too disheartened. Hopefully will hit it by next weigh in! )
Also going to see how much I can get out of the first pen today and if its a dose over 3 I am gonna go with that before using the 3.75 from new pen. If its not then im going over to the new pen for a 3.75!

Scousebloke · 21/05/2025 10:40

Well done on all the losses. Special well done to @Ricoletti and @wlinewbie0425 for hitting the stone off mark x

wlinewbie0425 · 21/05/2025 10:56

Just popped back quickly to update that 5th dose went smoothly. I followed all the tips shared here and in addition one I had read about injecting air INTO the pen before extracting which means that pressure lets the liquid just flows back out into syringe really easily. I slowly pushed 0.8ml of air into the pen - last 0.3 there was a fair bit of resistance but it went in and all bubbled to the top (with end of pen facing down) I was then able to withdraw 0.72ml which converts to a nice even 3mg dose. Had hoped for 3.75 but it will do.

injecting was totally fine. I did have a tiny bit of resistance getting needle through skin - in comparison with the pen needles - but I do mean tiny and there was no pain at all. The longer needle slid fully in, felt exact same as usual needle and was easier to inject.

Congrats on all the loses, inc the 1 stones…how fab 🎉🎉🎉

@Undecided2025 there’s a few comments in the thread below from people trying the 5th dose 😊

@wlinewbie0425 I wonder how much going over the 30 days actually affects the efficacy 🤔…I’d prob be tempted to take the risk for a 6th dose if I was doing 3.75mg from the 5mg pen (I didn’t enjoy using the syringe but would grit my teeth and get on with it if needed)

@Caddycat you’ll get 240 clicks in total out of your pen (plus a few extra for priming) so if you’ve only been doing 30 clicks per dose, you’ll be able to continue and use them up after your 4th dose (as long as you have the spare needles) - you’ll just need to decide on the risk of going over 30 days if you get more than one extra dose out.

Caddycat · 21/05/2025 11:52

Thank you @Coventree I am not planning on going over the 30 days, but I do have a spare pen needle so I could get a 5th dose then on day 29... I will try thank you!

Edited

what is the risk of going over the 30days? Loss of effectiveness or something else?

ymemanresu · 21/05/2025 13:00

Well done on the losses everyone especially the magic first stone milestone. 🥳

I’m week 5 on 5 mg, not feeling any difference. In fact i am really hungry today and had to have some sweets and a cheese sandwich as craving it .Period is due so blaming the pmt hunger hormones. Have others still felt hungry and had cravings before their period?

Really hoping it’s just the hormones taking over here..

Hi 5mg ers, has anyone decided whether they’ll go up to 7.5mg next time yet? I’m on my first week of 5mg, and I’ve already had an email asking me to order the 7.5mg! I’ve no idea yet!

Coventree · 21/05/2025 13:34

I believe so @dozywelshbird, think the instructions mention the 30 days (but cynically how much is so that we keep a monthly order coming into the prescribers?! Part of me thinks surely it would probably be okay)

AdotHam · 21/05/2025 13:35

Congrats on all the losses! And I'm excited to join the 1 stone club with you @Ricoletti and @wlinewbie0425 after a sneaky hop on the scales this morning.
Day 3 of 5mg and things seem to be ok after the first night of racing heart and panic that I seem to get. Am a little nauseous and feeling a bit low but still managing to eat and honestly suppression isn't massive so wanting to see how it progresses.

@Pinkapron I am really not sure about increasing yet either... think I will see what the scales say at the end of week 2 and make a decision then but if I am losing steadily think I will try and stick at 5mg and try and save a bit of money.

Hope that everyone is doing well today! 😀

Hawkmoth · 21/05/2025 15:29

My 3-day beef obsession last week was also pre-menstrual as it turns out. Now I have to explain to DH (who did the shopping) that I'm not massively keen anymore...

I've found that I still enjoy cooking, but then don't eat stuff. I made some no-sugar flapjacks last week and haven't even had one. Tonight is Greek lemon yoghurt chicken and roast potatoes. The idea seems like a great one, but I only managed a small portion of micro greens, ham and cheese for lunch so I'm not optimistic about clearing my plate!

50lbstolose · 21/05/2025 16:53

@Hawkmoth I too have found that I still live cooking, and think I'm really going to enjoy the meal. But I mostly just don't fancy eating. I have noticed that when I do eat, I am enjoy the taste of my food instead of wolfing it down, which is what I used to do!

Pinkapron · 21/05/2025 17:01

@AdotHam congratulations on reaching the 1 st club! 🎉
I'm sorry you’re feeling a bit low, hope you get your mojo back soon!
Like you, I’ll wait and see about the next dose, way too early to judge for me at this stage.

@Coventree I would definitely go over the 30 days, but that’s my personality, I quite like to bend rules when it suits me! 😂

Coventree · 21/05/2025 18:06

Me too @Pinkapron 🤣.

And as another example of that, I decided I couldn’t possibly wait until tomorrow so have done my first 5mg….c’mon side effects, let me feel ‘em!

Surely 2 x 2.5, 2 x 3.75, and 1 x 5mg must start doing something soon 😂

Brunocatmon · 21/05/2025 18:51

Good evening everyone.

Thank you so much for those that replied with what they're eating. I have literally zero interest in food. I'm wk 4 day 3 2.5ml and as opposed to those of us that are really tasting food, my enjoyment has just disappeared, I'm really having to force myself to eat.

I'm completely off coffee which is annoying as I love my 2 cups in a morning.

Anyway. Brilliant losses everyone, big clap for the stones gone. Hoping I'll get there in due course. The numbers are going down steadily, I weigh every morning.

Anyone else bruising? My tummy bruises every time.

My second pen arrived today. Im staying at 2.5 for another month. It's doing its job for me so I'm not going to rock the boat.

PoisonIvy89 · 21/05/2025 19:07

well done!! amazing losses!! @Coffeeandallthebooks @PumpKim @Ricoletti @wlinewbie0425 @Caddycat @Sheldon4k @AdotHam

@Brunocatmon hope it helped, I have no interest either, everything I am eating is because I know I need the fuel, not because I want it.
here's today coz I'm just logging dinner while it cooks
breakfast was overnight oats - rolled oats, protein powder, milk, blueberries, greek yoghurt, flaxseeds 365 cals
lunch was mexican quinoa bean salad 340 cals
dinner is still cooking but is chicken breast stuffed with spinach and cream cheese with garlicky green beans 318 cals
collagen 54, coffee 78, 2.5l water
total 1155 cals 119g protein

Pinkapron · 21/05/2025 19:13

@Coventree let’s hope so, wishing you a swift result! 🤞🏼

Do you find that adding the protein powder makes your overnight oats really stodgy?

Hawkmoth · 21/05/2025 19:36

@Brunocatmon I have bruised when I have hesitated with the needle. If I just stab, then push quite hard when I'm pressing the pen I don't bruise.

PeachSnail · 21/05/2025 20:12

Argh... I'm feeling a bit rough now after increasing my dose to 3.125mg yesterday. Think my levels are peaking right now. I feel queasy, tired and nauseous... Honestly, anyone who says we're cheating by losing weight "the easy way" clearly hasn't dealt with MJ side effects! 😅

I do think it's super interesting how we're all experiencing such a broad range of responses though. It's possible that some people are "super responders", getting stronger / quicker effects than others. I seem to feel a slight bit of nausea coming on almost immediately after I jab so I guess I could be on the more sensitive side. Think I might end up using my next 5mg pen to take 5 x 3.75mg doses - I'm definitely going to proceed with caution dose-wise!

StartingApril2025 · 21/05/2025 20:14

Great to hear everyone’s experiences!! I’m thinking of going up to 5mg though I am nervous as I usually inject on a sat morning but going away for the weekend and was going to do Friday night, but equally nervous about side effects over the weekend away?! What to do what to do!

50lbstolose · 21/05/2025 20:27

@StartingApril2025 I am wondering the same. I normally do a Saturday night so I have all day Sunday I case of side effects. I am flying out on a Friday night, after work, so I'm either going to have to do Thursday night or Friday morning before work

catchingzzzeds · 21/05/2025 20:56

I have a weekend away coming up, it’ll be my 2nd week of a new dose and I’m considering jabbing when I get home on the Sunday evening rather than the Friday. The thought of awful SE whilst travelling freaks me out 😬

toobusytoclean · 21/05/2025 22:24

Just taken W5 dose of 5mg. Hopefully suppression will return as my will power is not good enough yet. Officially only 3kg lost in first 4 weeks on 2.5mg, but morning weighing down by nearly 10lbs and scales at gym reckon I’m under 13stone. Scales at home aren’t so optimistic 🤣. Still it will be amazing to see my weight start with a 12 for the first time in years.
