We’ve filled another thread already, with fantastic support as most of us reach week 3 or 4 and think about pen 2! Thread 3 now as we enjoy the unexpected early summer and move into our second month of Mounjaro, lighter in both scales and mood.

Thanks for the info @PeachSnail
I'm also planning to do the golden dose, not overly keen on needles but seems daft to not to try given the cost of a pen.

Me again, stressing.

So, I wasn’t intending using the “golden dose” but now may have to (if my new pen doesn’t arrive).

What will I need? I have tried hard twisting, but nothing doing (probably a bit of a weakling). Can someone please link to the syringe/needles?

I’m sure I could Google, but I trust our little gang…

When I was experimenting with my empty 2.5mg pen I needed a good grip on it with both hands to get it to shift. I also used my tshirt on my twisting hand to give me a better grip. It feels like you'll break it but it doesn't. You need to be a bit firm with it. My pen was empty as I used a syringe and a needle to get my 5th dose out and same as @PeachSnail it went really smoothly. You can do it 💪

W5D2 here, suppression is up at the moment, definitely getting full and staying full after my meals. 1lb off this week, I'm happy with that 😊
I'm planning to do 3.25 or 3.75 on my 5mg pen to build up and hopefully not have too many side effects while I'm away next week.

Keep going everyone!

It's honestly not as bad as you might think. I was really nervous but it's not alot different to using the pen tbh. You're just loading it first 😊 My needles are only 4mm long so they don't look too scary. I only got 0.7 out of mine and just that smidge extra is making a difference.

violetmondays · 20/05/2025 16:46

@Chunkysewist where did you get 4mm needles from? I can't seem to find any that short.

PoisonIvy89 · 20/05/2025 16:58

@Coventree Yay!!! Onederland is is a huge milestone congrats!!!
that was me, I gotta celebrate all the things to help keep me motivated

@Ricoletti glad to hear you're feeling better, hopefully the reaction is nothing to worry about. I've bruised twice, weirdly both times on the right side, didn't bruise when I used the left side but no other reactions.

@RubyJuno that's a very sensible rate well done! I use nutracheck for tracking everything, those sneaky calories can build up so quickly without realising

@AbundanceofKatherines fingers crossed your pen will get to you by thursday.

@PeachSnail thanks for the helpful instructions

well done @Chunkysewist, great to hear your slightly higher dose is working!

@violetmondays it's a different syringe type with needles similar to the pen needles, they are posted somewhere in the thread but if you search 4mm needles on ukmedi they are on there

I'm on my period this week and for the first time ever didn't get two days of ravenous hunger before starting. Yesterday I got very woozy, I think heavy period and the lower calories were a bad combination. I guess that two day hunger is actually my body preparing for war and then there would usually be a steady stream of chocolate and sugar all week to keep me functional. I ate loads of extra protein and felt much better and doing the same today and it seems to be helping. I've put a note on my calender for next month to increase my protein the day before.

(apologies to the males on here, I think there's only one of you I won't tag you so hopefully you just skip past!)

In other also gross news, my toenails are growing at an alarming rate. I've been taking collagen for a while so I'm assuming it's because of that and not a very weird mj side effect lol. I would like to be able to redirect this to my hair or fingernails but at least I know it's doing something.

I ordered from ukmedi, I bought the needles and syringes seperately. The needles lock into the syringes.
Hopefully this link works. I bought the 1ml syringes to go with them then.

PumpKim · 20/05/2025 17:05

@PoisonIvy89 your toenails have made me giggle 🤭

My fingernails are really weak at the minute, so I'm also hoping the collagen improves them. Could do without talons on my feet though 🤣

SweetChilliGirl · 20/05/2025 17:13

I posted this on Sunday on the April board.

I've just extracted the extra dose from my first pen. It was a bit fiddly at first and I managed to bend the needle (used a separate one to inject) but then I remembered that someone had suggested injecting 0.6ml air into the pen before extracting and that worked a treat. I managed to get 0.7ml out so squirted some down the sink and injected 0.6ml into my thigh.

Definitely worth it, not least because that means I have a few extra doses in the fridge so when I reach my goal weight I can titrate down really slowly without worrying that I'll be cut off.

I bought syringes and needles from UKMEDi. Ten syringes were £4.99, ten wipes 99p and ten needles £9.99 (I should have bought 20 as I used two today). Plus p&p

Brunocatmon · 20/05/2025 21:21

Can anyone give me a rundown of the calorie counted what they typically eat in a day please.

StartingApril2025 · 20/05/2025 21:50

@Brunocatmon I was actually going to post something similar .like @SassyLimeHelper I had a great week 1 and week 3 and week 2 and this week week 4 I am hungry at times and thinking of food and no full feeling at all. Today Iv had :
Large protein yogurt with a crunch bar and strawberries. 350 cals
apple and chicken and sweet chilli wrap for lunch. Approx 500
dinner was a rush In between dropping kids so no time for usual meal so I had sourdough , cream cheese, cucumber and ham followed by watermelon. Approx 600 cals. So 1450 cals and I could easily eat a large meal right now , think the low protein and high carbs has made a difference too! Need to be better planned to tomorrow!

Zebracat · 20/05/2025 22:41

Oats with strawberries, blue berries and Greek yoghurt - 300 calories
bacon sandwich in 2 small slices of wholemeal, and a lick of mayo- 300.
oven baked salmon, small portion of new potatoes, green beans and broccoli 500
hot cross bun with butter 300. Milk for tea 80. An orange 62 calories. The bun was unusual, dinner was a bit small so I was hungry. I have been active today - 2 walks, 50 lengths of front crawl and some gardening.

TheSilentSister · 20/05/2025 23:38

Sorry I've been quiet, MJ just doesn't seem to be doing anything on the scales for me and feeling down.
However, just had my renewal invite and have ordered 5mg. It was £3.99 for delivery and an extra £34 for the higher dose. This had bloody better start working! Roll on Fri/Sat.

PoisonIvy89 · 20/05/2025 23:41

Breakfast was overnight oats made with rolled oats, milk, protein powder, ground flaxseed, and a crushed biscoff 370cals
Lunch was chicken and salad from a mixed bag plus cherry tomatoes and cucumber and light caeser dressing 181cals
Dinner was chicken with couscous and veg, it was a merchant gourmet frozen veg thing I didn't realise there was couscous in until I was cooking it 440cals
plus collagen drink 54cals, 2 coffees 52cals, 2.25l water, and so many vitamins that I should probably start counting the calories in those too
total calories 1097, protein 120g

(if youre looking for very precise, I only drank half of both coffees and didn't eat all the couscous so slightly lower total oh and I might have a 6 calorie vidrate before bed)

edit because I forgot the oats in the overnight oats!

Coffeeandallthebooks · 21/05/2025 06:11

W4D1 for me, lost 3lbs this week!

SW: 15 1
CW: 14 7
GW: 10 7

I'm awake and feeling a bit queasy, injected in stomach again but will go back to thigh for my first 5mg I think.
I might also count clicks to get 3.75, am I right in thinking I could do 5 doses at this as I've got 5 needles?
Thank you to everyone on the thread discussing this, I wouldn't have known 3.75 was an option otherwise!
I've lost 8lbs in 3 weeks as opposed to 1 stone in 4 months before MJ. It's made a huge difference.

Coventree · 21/05/2025 06:51

@PoisonIvy89 hope the wooziness has died off now

@TheSilentSister it’s hard when we don’t get the same reactions as others seem to. 3.75mg has possibly has some effect this week for me (2nd week of taking it), but likewise hoping 5mg will be the magic dose! Have you been able to make any changes to your diet these past few weeks? I’m still managing to lose but it just doesn’t feel any different to any other healthy eating plan I’ve done before where it’s willpower only powering me on. Fingers crossed for 5mg for you x

@coffeeandallthebooks well done! And yes, in theory, you should be able to get 5 x 3.75mg doses out of a 5mg pen 😊

Breakfast - overnight oats with semi-skimmed milk, a large dollop of Greek yoghurt, frozen fruit at the bottom, two tsp of protein powder and one tsp of collagen powder - 303 calories

Lunch - hard boiled egg, salad leaves, 20g cheddar (Cathedral City snack size), handful of nuts (about 30g), quinoa mix (with pepper, onion, lemon, balsamic vinegar and olive oil), apple, satsuma - 576 calories

Dinner - 2x chicken mini fillets, green veg, bit more of the quinoa mix - 295 calories

Total - 1202 calories (104g protein, 117g carbs, 64g fat)

Scousebloke · 21/05/2025 07:27

Have not posted for a couple of days, congrats to everyone doing well.
@TheSilentSister really hope the 5mg dose brings success for you.

Undecided2025 · 21/05/2025 07:59

Thanks for the new thread @wlinewbie0425

Im w4 d4 and hovering around the -12pms mark but not really moving further, although I’ve also got my period so not sure if that could be impacting it.

Has anyone done the golden dose? I have until Sunday to decide.

PumpKim · 21/05/2025 08:12

Morning all.
W3D7 for me on 2.5.
I jab late in D7 so count tomorrow as D1.
A tiny smidge less than 9lbs down in 3 weeks, but I'll call it 9 🤣

My 5mg pen has arrived even though I got an email from PillSorted that there were delays, it arrived 2 days after ordering. Really wish I could take it today as 2.5 hasn't really been having an effect this week after good suppression in W1 and 2. There has been a lot of willpower and determination, but actually I'm still not fancying chocolate so maybe it is still helping to some extent 🤷‍♀️I've definitely been hungrier though.

Ricoletti · 21/05/2025 08:25

Morning all, happy Wednesday!

I’ve hopped on the scales and have hit my first target of losing 1 stone 🥳🥳🥳

Im really chuffed with myself.

day 3 of first week on 5ml.
i dont feel rough anymore but still got itchy reaction at injection site. I’m wondering if its because it was done immediately out of the fridge? Or just stronger dose ? Or just random reaction?

I made overnight oats last night so am going to try and eat some of them before 12, as haven’t been managing breakfast (I’m usually a coffee till 11 girly anyway) as I’m trying to keep blood sugars / energy levels topped up so I don’t get woozy by late afternoon.

well done to everyone, wherever you are in your journey. We are all doing great ❤️

wlinewbie0425 · 21/05/2025 08:29

Well done everyone with the losses and NSVs since I was last on / this moves so fasts.

Reallt helpful reading all the tips about 5th dose, today’s the day for me, will report back later. Also did my weekly weigh in and 4 weeks in and have another 2lb off so I have hit the magic 1 stone mark 😃. This stuff is amazing. I have felt less of the effects in recent days so think I am ready to increase, but will see how much I get out the pen with separate needle. I don’t want to try forcing it.

I am also thinking of trying 3.75 firstly from new 5mg pen, with a view to doing 5 doses of those if it works or moving up to full 5mg doses when needed. If I did stay on 3.75mg for the whole pen, there is actually enough volume in the pen for 6 doses, but only 5 within 30 days. @Coffeeandallthebooks@Coventreebut would need separate needles for last 1 or 2 doses based on what others have said and it it locking after 4 doses regardless of click number.

Well done you too! 🎉

Crunchymum · 21/05/2025 09:43

Congratulations on all the losses and NSV's!! But to those hitting the 1st mark (in just 4 weeks). Wowser!!!

I am a bit slower (9.5lbs in 3 weeks and not hopeful for this weeks weigh-in as I am due my period) but it's fabulous to see how well it's working for some.

I am hoping 5mg will work better for me but I am not unhappy with the results thus far.

Caddycat · 21/05/2025 09:44

Well done to you all for the amazing WL, NSV and thank you for all the information shared! I'm a little behind so I'm grateful for the information ahead of time!

It's W2d7 for me and I've lost 4.1kg (9lb). I'm really pleased with this given that I've lost and put on the same couple of lbs for over a year on a very low calorie diet. I do wonder whether the WLI does more than just suppress food noise and appetite, because I'm doing exactly the same as I was before but this time the weight is actually dropping off...

I decided to do another week at 1.25mg as it worked well the first week. I had zero symptoms once I realised that the niggles I had were trapped wind and took Deflatine. However, the food noise has crept up on day 5 and 6, so I might go for 45 clicks tomorrow. I wonder whether my pen will let me do a 5th dose as I have only done half doses so far? I don't want to get needles and my provider has given me a spare pen needle so I will see before starting my new pen whether I can use that. I'm not prepared to force the pen though.

So I'm 5'1 (155cm)
SW: 73kg
CW: 68.9kg
GW: 53kg (aiming for 58kg to begin with)
BMI is now under 30!

Flowerchild547 · 21/05/2025 10:11

Well done @wlinewbie0425 and @Ricoletti for the 1st loss!
And to all who have lost so far!

I have just taken second dose of 5mg this morning and hoping for a better week than last week.
The scales showed I put on 2lbs this morning but despite being a bit glum about it, I’ve decided to think logically and have concluded that it’s unlikely that I actually have put on that weight overnight. I’m on the coil and haven’t had any bleeding in a while but have had some in the past couple of days so I wonder if it’s hormone related.
Hopefully the numbers will go back down as I go through the week 🤞🏻
