New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Just for context this is what 5lbs of fat looks like. We have all done so well.
I think that the health benefits far outweigh the weight loss, I feel less sluggish than I did on the 28/02.

My pen arrived today, and it’s safely in the fridge.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader yum. That’s a good motivator

GiveMeWordGames · 18/05/2025 18:06

@TheSpoonyNavyReader ooof! Yes that's definitely a good motivator.

I don't feel like I'm seeing it obviously in the mirror yet, it's been feeling it with clothes so far which is pretty good I suppose. And I just painted my toenails easily, without feeling like I was crushing my internal organs to death. Last Summer I'd got to the point where I almost couldn't do it.

Fatmumslim01 · 18/05/2025 18:09

I've just tried to pick up my youngest DC and I couldn't do it. They weigh 4stone2. That's what I'm carrying around all day without realising. Onwards and downward!

Fatmumslim01 · 18/05/2025 18:11

Flamethrowers · 18/05/2025 17:13

After maybe partially freezing my pen I bought an Asda one which is fifty quid cheaper than last time 125 without a code for 2.5

@Flamethrowers I used Asda for my first 2 pens but paid £180 each 🙄 then they dropped their price! I may got back to them but am currently switching supplier each month to get the best discount. I found Asda very good tho, could collect next day if ordered early in the week

That's a real eye opener isn't it? My DC are just over 5st, and 4st 7 ish. In total I'm aiming for 5st 9 loss I think...it's bonkers to think about.

Hello all - checking in from my hotel room, having a lovely weekend away, have been eating a reasonable amount, but not pigging out. I'm starting to recognise what it feels like when I've eaten the right amount - I don't get immediate fullness like some people, that comes about 30 mins after eating for me, so I'm trying to train my brain to know what it feels like in the moment. I think I'll probably have gained a bit from my Friday weigh point, but that's ok.

Really so good to read all the victories and milestones. and OMG that 5lb of fat!

Fab NSV for me - I wore that swimsuit in the pool, and my DP (who obvs sees me naked so I'm not quite sure he reacted like this) couldn't stop staring at me in it, and then told me that I looked incredibly hot in it. Not that I'm doing this for the male gaze, but whatever, I'll take that victory 😂

You really made me laugh, my husband has really started to notice my weight losses.

He is starting to say that I have started to become the woman he fell in love with again (he always loved me and found me attractive) but my confidence has doubled and I am taking care of myself again, looking back in the last 6 months I wore leggings and sweatshirts. I was probably depressed and my weight was a major factor in that, I started to let myself go and probably give up a little, I was always dieting but nothing worked. I would never have turned to WLI if it was not the last resort.

I am not only healthier but more in tune with myself, I have really worked on me in the last 12 weeks. This medication has been life changing and I am happy to take it for the rest of my life if needed.

This thread has been very therapeutic.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader
that 5lb fat is a motivator for sure

@TheBossOfMe that must have been an amazing feeling especially during a weekend away !

hubby is hugging me more and more (he is a spoon sleeper) and have noticed that he hugs are around me now rather then half way.

main part for me is my confidence and the mental ability to focus on me. Yesterday I had a night out and hubby took off (self employed) so I could get my nails , lashes and brows done before hand .It was my first girls night out since Covid! And I felt super confident being dressed up (may be a bit OTT for the occasion but I don’t care as I felt fabulous) but also realised this is why I letmyself go I didn’t allow me time which is so important! Time to excersize eat healthy and have fun with friends, family and live life to fullest. I am so much happier these days then grumpy fat version of me a few months ago LOL

TheBossOfMe · 18/05/2025 21:27

@TheSpoonyNavyReader @Bipaloss It’s absolutely the confidence - DP said that I looked so comfortable and confident in my own skin, and seemed lit from the inside. He’s been so unbelievably supportive of this journey - so glad he’s getting some benefit from it as well 😂

And yes to me time and waving goodbye to the fat grumpy version of me.

RuthEvershedforPM · 18/05/2025 21:36

Goodness this suppression isn’t even is it?! There should be loads in my system (on week two of 7.5) this weekend I have been absolutely ravenous! have stayed within the deficit but have been really craving real food not more cottage cheese and salad!

had chicken for dinner last night and eggs on toast tonight. What do you all eat when you want something tasty and not remotely like diet food?!

RuthEvershedforPM · 18/05/2025 21:39

Also @TheSpoonyNavyReader what a great post to read ❤️

GameOfJones · 18/05/2025 21:40

@RuthEvershedforPM I've become a big fan of gyoza (with soy sauce for dipping) because they're pretty low calorie but feel like a treat! Or laksa style noodle soups.

RuthEvershedforPM · 18/05/2025 21:45

Ah that’s a great shout - definitely proper food!

Puddingpiper · 18/05/2025 21:49

@RuthEvershedforPM I find Japanese or stirfry the way forwards. A tasty version of chicken, rice and veg. Also sustainable long term. If I’m feeling fancy I swap out the chicken for prawns.

Tuna, sweetcorn and jacket potato is also high in protein and fairly low cal provided not using loads of full fat mayo.
i also like tuna and sweetcorn in lettuce wraps

not very exciting but better than cottage cheese

Most of my lunches is what I call buffet on a plate when not wanting chicken I have smoked salmon or scramble eggs (always something quick and can be eaten cold as I tend to eat at desk) houmous , something to dip in humous (different flavours each week) and tomato mozzarella , sometimes couscous , olives , cheese or whatever I find in the fridge focusing on protein and fiber but make sure there is loads of flavours (most of the time I end up eating half and just put it back in the fridge and have for dinner or next day) . If out of home I have the occasional wrap or salad. I’m focusing on making sure lunch is my main meal and something I can continue in the future as too much restrictions will just make me go back to old habits (aka too many sandwiches with too much cheese and endless snacking)

most days I don’t have much dinner(if I do it’s usually leftover lunch) but on weekends I eat what I want or what the rest of the family has, but my portions are very small (smaller than DS 6yr)

I have occasionally tried some of the frozen protein things from aldi and most of them taste nice plus you can heat the portion size (comes in bags rather portion size)

TheBossOfMe · 18/05/2025 22:01

@RuthEvershedforPM I think I posted about this before but I've read some stuff about tastebud stimulation and mouth hungry vs stomach hungry. Exactly as @GameOfJones and @Puddingpiper said, umami flavours can really work here - japanese, stir fries, noodle soups etc. You might get salt/water retention, but it's not a real gain.

PinketyBoo · 18/05/2025 22:39

New user!

2.5 pen and just done 4th jab.

Definitely a slow and steady loser at 1kg a week at the moment. No side effects though. Eating about 1200 calories a day with over 5 stone to lose.

Week 1 - immediate suppression and craved fruit.
Week 2 - not so good and did eat a couple of sweet things.
Week 3 - as week 1 but less of a fruit craving.

Will see what this week brings. Have to admit to being jealous of those with huge and immediate losses.

soupforbrains · 18/05/2025 23:24

Well. Exercising is hazardous to health!!!

im an ice skater and was training today is south London and had a particularly stupid (and heavy) fall and smacked my head on the ice. Thought I was fine but had to pull over to be sick on the way home. So now I’m in A&E waiting for a concussion check 🙄

TervenAcademicals · 19/05/2025 00:10

Hope you're ok, @soup 💐

Outsidebeanshop · 19/05/2025 00:10

I posted on the old thread whoops but basically I’ve messed up….i forgot to order my next pen doh - i usually jab on a Tuesday but it won’t be ready to collect until Thursday, but I’ll be away from Wednesday until Monday doh!

i could try and extract the last bits from the pen but not sure how to do that and not sure if I’m that keen to do it, feel a bit nervous to do that. Plus not sure if the stuff I need to do it would arrive on time anyway. Also, I don’t store in the fridge so it’s been out for more than 28 days now so probably not a good option anyway.

so it looks like I’ll be skipping a week - has anybody done this? Anything I should be aware of or tips on how to manage it?

RuthEvershedforPM · 19/05/2025 05:30

Ah yes I now remember @TheBossOfMe - thank you

goodness @soupforbrains hope you mend quickly.

the good news is that despite being ravenous all weekend I have still lost another little bit. Total loss now 12.2 kg and the last time I remember weighing this is 2019 💪🏼💪🏼

hello @PinketyBoo - congratulations on the start. Sounds like you’ve done cracking :) Hang out here of course ❤️ - but there may be an April thread with people also 4 weeks in? Only suggest because you mention a bit of jealousy - we’ll have bigger losses just because a bit further along the road :)

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 19/05/2025 08:03

@soupforbrains I hope you are ok, if you need anything I am in SE London and can help.

As I have said before I am a daily weigher and it looks like I maybe having a woosh, 2lbs off since Friday.

museumum · 19/05/2025 08:18

Finally hit the one stone down!!!!
Two months exactly on the jab.

Much slower than most of you and it hasn’t been easy. But I feel the difference in my perimenopausal knees already. Cannot wait for the next stone to go.

GameOfJones · 19/05/2025 09:33

Ouch @soupforbrains I hope you're ok!
