New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Anyone know which providers are really quick to receive atm. I forgot to order my next 5 pen. I usually use medexpress but they are staying an extra 7 days atm.
I go away on friday so I need it here before then if im going to order it

You could order with Asda and do a store pick up if there's one near you

MJMabel · 18/05/2025 09:21

@Fatmumslim01you are doing amazingly well, I am in awe.

I feel far off maintenance at the moment, I need to lose another 10kg and will then hopefully be able to think about it. I want to keep taking mounjaro long term to avoid the weight piling back on, so have already moved to oushk where in theory I can continue to take it at a healthy BMI….

PS5Gamer · 18/05/2025 09:22

@Flamethrowers Thank you👍🏻

Weigh In 8 and I lost another 2lbs, taking my overall loss to -29lb (2.5mg=20lb & 5mg=9lb).
I’ve moved up to 7.5mg as suppression was wearing off fast, during the last 2 weeks on 5mg. First dose was Friday, and suppression is excellent, food noise still quiet.

Flamethrowers · 18/05/2025 09:25

Ignite my earlier message about success in lower doses the research doesn't bear scrutiny and my interpretation was rubbish

@TheSpoonyNavyReader and @MJMabel wow you are both so close to a healthy weight and here's me pleased that my BMI is now 37 😱 this feels like a very long term thing, it was very sobering to realise that although Ive lost a stone so far on MJ which is wonderful, I can lose another 3 stone and still have a BMI of 30 and therefore eligible for the injections. Still, Rome wasn't built in a day as they say!

Are you going to switch to maintenance soon @TheSpoonyNavyReader @MJMabel

I started with a BMI of 31.4, I will have to loss another 8lbs to get to a BMI of 25.0.
At that weight I still look on the bigger side so want to get to a BMI of 22 which is 9st 3lbs and this will give me some wiggle room.

I am then going to look into maintenance on other threads people are slowing moving down to 2.5ml and injecting every 12 days and the pen last them 2-3 months.

You have done amazing with your weight loss, you should be very proud of yourself.

But you'd need to check the Asda pick up points as not all Asdas will do. Once I was approved by them it was ready for pick up a dy or so later (as the Asda pharmacy has it in stock)

I ordered from Pillsorted on Friday afternoon and my pen will be delivered tomorrow, the pen was dispatched on Saturday and is at my local delivery office today.

Can the pen last 2-3 months? I thought it was 30’days from being opened?

sounds like a good idea if possible?

Ah see there's the difference @TheSpoonyNavyReader my BMI was 39.8 I think so alot higher than you to start off with.

I'm so bloody proud of myself 💪 partly for admitting enough is enough and I need help and partly for losing the weight albeit with help from mj.

MJ is a wonder drug not only is it helping me lose weight but I'm calmer, less anxious, more confident. Also I have adhesions wrapped around my colon which meant before MJ when I needed to go the toilet I got about 2 seconds warning. Now I 💩 like a normal person 😱 and the adhesion pain is all gone it's amazing.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 18/05/2025 09:39

Yes they do apparently! I am going to test it.
I know that diabetes medication have the same guidelines of use within 30 days so that is what has been tested by the manufacturer.

My son is diabetic and leaves his insulin pens here for when he comes over and the pen he uses is over 60 days from when it’s opened and still works. His consultant said to him that it would be fine.

I will let you all know when I get to maintenance if a pen works when it’s been open for 2 months.

I am laying in the lounge with the windows open because for the first time since being on MJ I am hot.

Thank you to whoever suggested Pillsorted as a provider I have paid £129 for a 7.5 pen and the process was so easy. Bye Medexpress

This made me giggle this morning… even with all the sunshine I still have cold feet!

On the maintenance, weight gain stuff I think it’s one day at a time… no one regains stones overnight so we keep an eye on things, allow some of all the mental energy we spend looking after everyone else to be spent on us - being healthy and happy. I think as women we are often so crap at looking after ourselves but I want to not only look after my kids (and let’s face it DH) now but for another 3-4 decades! My two pennies worth at this point!

total loss 10.6 kg / 23.5 lb

I was down 2 lb yesterday but then after dinner and drinks out last night gained 1.5 lb water weight overnight

next jab tonight after 6 days and doing 6,25 mg

soupforbrains · 18/05/2025 10:28

@Fatmumslim01dont be disheartened. I think you and I are a similar height and goal weight and I think we’re at a similar weight now.

here are the other ‘wins’ that my loss this week brought up as well as the BMI getting under 40. And please remember that a lot of people here started at a much lower weight than we did. (I was 19st10)

I lost 3lbs so I’m now at 17st7lb.

Which brings in a few related mini wins.
A) as previously mentioned my BMI has now come below 40 for the first time in ages.
B) I have lost more than25% of my goal loss
C) my loss has broken the ‘30lb’ mark (31lb total)
D) I’ve lost more than 10% of my total body weight
E) I have now got ‘only’ the round 6stone to lose.

I'm sure you have lots of these achievements too! Or simile ones because you didn’t start off as fat as me.

Thanks @soupforbrains I'm 5 foot and my starting weight was 14-7 and I'm not 13-7. My target is 11-7 at first then hopefully 9-7.

Puddingpiper · 18/05/2025 10:41

Scale victory this morning I’ve hit my first mini target of being below 100kg if the first time for at least 10 years!

Now just over a third of the way there and 20kg to go to get to a healthy BMI.

Next mini target is to be 29.9BMI and officially overweight rather than obese which is 2 kilos away.

soupforbrains · 18/05/2025 10:53

@Fatmumslim01ah, I see, we’re not a similar size at all then it just that your interim goal is the same as my final one!

Hey everyone, this is my first time checking in after lurking for a while.

It’s wonderful to see how well everyone is doing.

Altogether I have dropped 23lbs since late March. Feeling the difference in mobility and confidence.

I’ve been absolutely battered by side effects. Friday is jab day as I would prefer the worst side effects to be when I’m not at work. This weekend is the first weekend I’ve not been sick all weekend. I think my body is starting to get used to the 5mg dose at last. I think I will stay there for a while as not keen to increase and face bad side effects again. Despite the side effects it’s worth it as for the first time in my adult life the food noise is gone and I get no cravings. I’ve even totally gone off chocolate and sweet treats. Now that’s a miracle.

SW 22.2 (shocking I know, I can’t believe I let myself get to that point)
CW 20.7
GW I don’t know yet, it’s such a long way off. I will play it by ear going by how I feel.

NSV - yesterday I fit into size 24 jeans for the first time in over 2 years. That was a good feeling.

JudgingJudy · 18/05/2025 12:08

It's great to read the substantial health benefits people are experiencing on MJ. The physical stress on the body of carrying so much surplus fat is awful .

I'm 5ft 8.5in and my SW was 182lbs. I think my BMI was 27.2. I was prescribed MJ because of high cholesterol - I've been on statins for years.

I lurked around 170lbs for a few years after quitting alcohol. I did Low Carb and got down to 165, stayed there a few years, then it crept up to 180! FFS. Clothes not fitting,
I exercise loads. Swim 4/5km per week, park run, cycle 50km in winter, 100+ in Summer. I competed in a half ironman at 175lbs. That's 11lbs overweight.

I'm doing another half IM this year. I do not want to carry surplus fat around what is a 70.3 mile distance.

I do a professional job. I quit alcohol (a nasty wine habit). I've lost weight - gold member of Weight Watchers, years at SW, Low Carb. Yet here I am at 57, 18 lbs overweight! I've only told my DH I'm on MJ.

I've lost 12 lbs in 9 weeks. To me that is magical. I weigh daily, and it bounces a bit, but not above 170. My clothes fit! I'm on 5mg and losing 1lb per week and happy with that. I'm trying hard to keep muscle- doing weights, cycling hard.

I am so less hungry. I can delay breakfast, eat smaller.
I'm terms of side effects- I'm cold. Weird in this heat. I feel low energy. I definitely need a rest day after a hard workout. My sleep isn't great. It was troublesome anyway post menopause, but I keep waking really early. 5 and 6 am. I need to work on this.

I'm reading the 'gain' thread with interest. It makes sense to me. I've regained before post weight loss, so why should MJ be different?. But like others I will use a pen beyond 30 days. I'll see if I can maintain at 2mg dosage. There may be a tablet form by then.

We have different starting points - different BMIs - but the same goal - a BMI within out healthy range. (Which may be >25. You decide)

JudgingJudy · 18/05/2025 12:15

Well done @Fatmumslim01 and @Perimenopop .

Purplebeag · 18/05/2025 12:22

Week 10 completed and I'm not sure what has happened this week but I had a 6lb loss - I've not been undereating based on my past calorie goals so I assume it's a result of past water retention from being away and being able to start with exercise again after an injury.

Sw: 18 stone 3
Cw: 15 stone 11

So close to my current short term target of being under 100kg. It feels great that finally I'm closer to being out of the obese range than I am to my starting weight (albeit very sobering on how bad it has got!)

Ballbagisnotmyname · 18/05/2025 16:35

Week 10 completed: sw:14.5. Cw: 12.8
i have a 7.5mg pen but only dosing 5mg as getting side effects but I am still losing, I had already lost 2 1/2 st low carbing. People are finally noticing I’ve lost weight! I can’t actually remember when I was last in the 12 st bracket 😂 anyone else struggling to see themselves as thinner?

Flamethrowers · 18/05/2025 17:13

After maybe partially freezing my pen I bought an Asda one which is fifty quid cheaper than last time 125 without a code for 2.5

Yes rmaybe because I'm loosing fast. Other times I've lost weight I've seen myself get thinner but this time even though the rousers I put on 2.5 months ago were straisning at my thighs and now they're flapping round them I don't feel much thinner (though I can see it in my face)

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 18/05/2025 17:32

Just for context this is what 5lbs of fat looks like. We have all done so well.
I think that the health benefits far outweigh the weight loss, I feel less sluggish than I did on the 28/02.

My pen arrived today, and it’s safely in the fridge.
