New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

How are you today @soupforbrains hopefully recovered!

I ve had a busy weekend walking, 6 miles Saturday on top of an already active day, and 12 miles yesterday. So so good for my mental health. Resisting the urge to gosgain today (don't always work Mondays and off today) but should really get sone house/garden stuff done.

Have eaten probably more than usual this weekend, various reasons but not terrible and no gain showing. SW was 17st 2 and I'm 1lb away from being in the 14s!!

seasidehunter · 19/05/2025 10:33

Well... the scales are not my friend this morning. They're saying a 3lb GAIN this week. That would imply some serious overeating, but I've done nothing different this week - in fact, across the earlier part of the week I probably ate less than usual because I felt quite nauseous. The weekend is always a bit more calorific (about 1800-2000 calories when the rest of the week tends to be 1400-1600), but this weekend was no different to any other.

Only explanation is that it seems to be TOTM - although its only been 2 weeks since the last one - WTF is that all about?! Never ever happened to be before in 35 years of periods.

I will try to step on the scales again later - sometimes they nicer things late afternoon!

I had planned to stay on 3.75mg again this week, but I'm cross with my body and so I've gone up to 5mg in protest. Not felt any different as yet, but it has only been a few hours.

BVsMum · 19/05/2025 10:41

Signing in.

Week 9 today about to jab.

SW 98.8kg
CW 89.8kg

For the first pen I did the 4 doses plus the golden dose. I went up to 5 mg and I’m planning to do the same.

Weightloss has not been linear and actually slower on the 5mg compared to 2.5mg. I assume because I lost a lot of water weight at first and now I’m actively losing the weight from excess fat. On average it looks like I’m loosing 1kg a week which I think is pretty good. So far I’ve not had any side effects at all and I think I may stay on 5 mg for my 3rd pen.

Will see how the next 2 weeks go!

PoundsLost · 19/05/2025 11:41

museumum · 19/05/2025 08:18

Finally hit the one stone down!!!!
Two months exactly on the jab.

Much slower than most of you and it hasn’t been easy. But I feel the difference in my perimenopausal knees already. Cannot wait for the next stone to go.

I’m with you on the slowness. Still only a stone down but better than nothing. In the same clothes but slightly looser! It’s frustrating but just got to stick with it! I’m eating so much less, drinking so much less, slightly more exercise and not much has changed for me yet. I’m just three hundred odd British pounds down and in the same jeans. At least I haven’t gone up a size!

Tantastic12 · 19/05/2025 12:39

Glad to hear I’m not the only slow looser! Started on 18th March and have lost 13lbs. I read a comment on here which I’ve consoled myself with that maybe my diet maybe wasn’t that bad to begin with and that’s why I’m losing much slower? I put on 2 stone over lockdown by just being greedy eating and drinking too much. So I had really increased my exercise over last 2 years and tracked meals trying to shift it but lost very little.
I have never had full suppression and always able to finish my meals which I’m happy with as want this to be sustainable. Gradually increased from 2.5 to 3.75 then last week went to 5 so will see how I go from here. Would love another stone by time I go on holiday at end of June but not looking likely. Still going the right way though so have to be positive!

soupforbrains · 19/05/2025 13:16

Thank you @TheSpoonyNavyReader@GameOfJonesand @Illbefinejustbloodyfinei’m ok. I have mild concussion. I’m very low level queasy today and have low level headache pain. Am feeling the other aches and pains from the fall more today so my left wrist, right elbow and butt are all sore. Plus once I got home and undressed last night I realised that as I fell I kicked my left call with my right blade and have this beauty! 🙄

Posted a pic but it’s under review but if/once it shows up I apologise for my very pale and pasty/ hairy leg! 🤣

GiveMeWordGames · 19/05/2025 13:29

Ouch! @soupforbrains I'm glad you're basically ok but that sounds pretty nasty all round. Take it easy.

Completed my 8th week, so did my 9th jab today, sticking at 5mg. I'm hovering at 15st 10, so a solid 3 lbs down from last Monday and 22lbs down from my SW.

This next week will be interesting - a little holiday. It's a Greek island so in one sense - greek yoghurt, fruit, meaty kebabs, salads, cheese - it should be quite easy to keep up the way I've been eating. I mean, they do tend to serve everything with chips but I've never been much of a chip fan in summer, even before MJ.

I'm most curious to see if a holiday vibe and a bit of heat changes my feelings towards booze. I can't imagine NOT drinking on my hols. We shall see! Not expecting to lose but will be happy to not gain. I'll jab a day late next week rather than faff about taking the pen with me.

@PoundsLost and @Tantastic12 it's all loss, whatever speed. You're both doing brilliantly.

My clothes took a while to fit, I had spent the last 6 months wearing clothes that were very tight or leggings and a sweatshirt. Jeans I could not wear or even get up now fit!

I mentioned a skirt that I paid a fortune for and stupidly never tried on, did not fit when I got it home, it has hung in my wardrobe for years teasing me, when I started MJ I could not even get it past my bum let alone get it over my hips, after 4 weeks I could get it past my bum, but there was at least a 4inch gap to get it done up, well today I have got it to do up! There is still a roll of fat that hangs over it.
It has taken me nearly 12 weeks.

I have a wardrobe of clothes that have not fit me for years but I will get into those clothes and I think half of them are considered in fashion again it’s been that long.

You will get there and things will all of a sudden become to big, it was leggings for me!

soupforbrains · 19/05/2025 13:52

Oh and in all my chaos I forgot to mention that ive been gradually increasing my dose and I’m now doing 2mg (24clicks from a 5mg pen) twice a week so I’m effectively at 4mg dose. The fact that this is working for me really highlights/reinforces my belief that it’s all about trying to maintain a steady level in the bloodstream and avoiding the peaks and dips for me, rather than the actual dose. (In terms of avoiding SEs).

GameOfJones · 19/05/2025 16:07

@soupforbrains definitely take it easy! Looks like you did a bit of a number on yourself but glad you're ok.

@GiveMeWordGames I'm on holiday next week too. I'm a bit nervous about how it will go but I do know if I gain I will get straight back on track afterwards.

ilovegreenbeans · 19/05/2025 17:17

Evening all!
Well, I stuck with it, had a mini period <eye roll> and kept going and this morning the scales showed a little woosh so that's good motivation for me for next week! Like others, my clothes are fitting way better 🥳
SW 98.2
CW 87.1
GW 77kg... I think
I tried using Second Nature a couple of years ago and managed 10lbs in a couple of months... then fell off the wagon and ended up at my highest weight ever. However, I've pulled their recipe book out and gone back to their balanced plate methods for meals. Really recommend for those of us keen to find new habits for after MJ x

Mini panic over… stepped on the scales again this evening and it’s now just a 0.5lb gain 🤷🏼‍♀️ Much better than the 3lb they were claiming this morning - I’m happy to put that small gain down to the surprise extra TOTM that’s appeared today. Let’s hope for a whoosh next week especially now that I’ve gone up to 5mg 🤞

GiveMeWordGames · 19/05/2025 18:37

Exactly! Have a fab time and we can compare notes in a week or so...😁

Hurrah for all the whooshing going in the last couple of posts.

I have thr second nature book too, and was thinking the same. A friend did second nature via the NHS to try and stave off diabetes.

Hello all, back from my weekend away, don't think it was too murderous on calories, but let's see tomorrow morning which will be official weigh day a day late.

OMG @soupforbrains that looks painful! I used to ice skate a lot as a teenager (think whizzing around Queensway chatting up boys rather than figure skating 😂) and have scars to prove it as well. It's a fabulous way to move - my DD learned to skate in Bangkok, which bizarrely has loads of ice rinks) but if you fall OMG you can really hurt yourself. Glad you're not too injured, concussion can be awful.

Lovely to see so many whooshes and NSVs.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader You'll have to post a pic of the skirt when you're ready! 12 weeks is nothing - well done!

@ilovegreenbeans @GiveMeWordGames A bit sad, I know, but I take photos of what I'm eating all the time, so I can look back and remind myself what a plate looked like when I was slim, when I gained, when I maintained, and when I lost. It's amazing to look back at the "gain" plates and see what a huge percentage of my plate was simple carbs rather than protein or vegetables, well over 50% of it. And the volume of food was bonkers given how short I am and how sedentary I was at that time. Hardly surprising that I gained so much so quickly.

Probably TMI but somebody (think maybe @TheSpoonyNavyReader ) said something upthread about gaining confidence back. After DP being very attentive when I was in my swimsuit in the pool, he was very attentive indeed last night. And for the first time in a couple of years, I wasn't worrying about angles or whether he'd be repulsed by my very fat belly - I felt confident and comfortable. It was a rather fab night. I'm counting it as exercise. Definitely a very good NSV 😂

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 19/05/2025 20:44

I hope you left your Apple Watch on so you could see how many calories you burned.

Not checked in for a bit. I had an MJ rebellion last week, didn't jab after 7 days but left it til 9. Just got a bit fed up with the side effects. Overate in the interim which probably means I won't lose when I weigh-in tomorrow, but I don't mind that, I think I needed to ease off for my sanity.

Side effects are back in full swing today. Big old headache, bloated tummy, eggy burps and the noises coming out of my stomach suggest more diarrhoea is probably on its way. Joy!

TheBossOfMe · 19/05/2025 21:06

@TheSpoonyNavyReader No but I should have done 😂

@SmallSoupcon That sounds really difficult - are there particular foods that seem to trigger the SEs?

I hope you left your Apple Watch on so you could see how many calories you burned.

Increased from from 45 clicks (about 6mg) to 50 clicks (6.25 mg) yesterday on day 6. felt nausea imidietly after but gone overnight . Today been more hungry then usual but felt under the weather , absolutely freezing most of the day plus a lump in my throat . Could be a cold coming but also had the same lump first 2 days on 2.5 mg so let’s see . Feeling slightly better this evening and much less hungry .
Hopefully not too cold tomorrow with more suppression (been cold day 2-5 last few weeks even in the warm weather , to the point I sit in my boiling car for a bit or take a hot shower mid day 😂)

@Bipaloss I'm really cold as well. I'm wearing winter clothes even though I fit into summer ones. Which kind of defeats some of the purpose!

Everything 😂

Unfortunately MJ doesn't seem to discriminate which foods will trigger the.. err... floodgates, shall we say! It's just eating in general.

I've delayed my jabs twice in the past month as I was worried what the continuous diarrhoea was doing to me.

But I won't be taking it long term. I've got 5 jabs left to try and reach my goal weight, then I'm stopping.
