March 2025 starters Thread 5

New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Hi all, thanks for the new thread and I'm now checking in. I was just saying on the old thread that I think I'll buy myself an exercise bike as a treat to myself if I hit the 2st loss mark (only a couple of lbs to go.) Mounjaro has changed me.....🤣

TheBossOfMe · 14/05/2025 15:14

@GameOfJones I have a Peloton and I love it. Totally gimmicky but actually really fun! Plus it has all the other fitness programs on it.

Brilliant! Well done. I may go as low as 10st 7lbs - will see how I feel at 11. That sentence itself seemed a distant dream in March.

I know seeing 11's this morning made me so happy! 2021 was the last time!

popdepop · 14/05/2025 16:23

Checking in!

I'm on week 8, lost a stone, still on 2.5 with virtually no side effects and happy with that. The rate is slowing a little but I'm reluctant to go to 5 unless it stops entirely. Now in the overweight not obese category too!

Yellowsubmarine55 · 14/05/2025 20:09

Checking in.....thread 5 already 😁

I visited that dark and long forgotten place today - the bag of clothes in the house that haven't fitted for a few years. ....I wore and felt great in a skirt and top today that I haven't worn for a good 5 years 😍

Puddingpiper · 14/05/2025 20:10

ilovegreenbeans · 14/05/2025 12:50

Hello! Can I join, please?

Started March 25th and currently halfway through my second pen, 5mg.

SW 98.2kg bmi 32
CW 89.4 kg bmi 29
GW 77kg bmi 25

I'm 5'10 so 77kg is pretty slim for me! I'm so pleased with my losses so far, and minimal side effects. My face looks slimmer and less jowly, my rings fit better and I'm now wearing loads of clothes I put away because they looked awful.

However... I have been about 1 pound either side of this weight now for 2 weeks... sounds similar to others so I'm trying to trust the process, keep eating well and moving as much as I can!

Being tall gets confusing on weight I’m 5’11 and my goal weight at 80kg is heavier than a lot of people’s starting weight. Welcome to the group it is a lovely place to be.

RuthEvershedforPM · 14/05/2025 21:07

Thanks for the new thread

sw 82.6
cw 71.1
gw 54

really pleased with the progress. Still impatient as still chubby BUT it’s all in the right direction

Fatmumslim01 · 14/05/2025 21:27

Marking place, haven't been on the thread for a few days.

Week 7 (?) weigh day for me tomorrow and it's been my first week on 5mg so interested to see what the scales say. Ive had better suppression then on 3.75 so that's good but also some nausea like when I went up to 3.75 but hopefully that will go next week.

It's 48 hours before my next jab now and if course the food noise has returned, this is happening every week now, I thought it would go as I went up the doses but nope! Thinking I need to have extra willpower the final 48 hours before jab day.

Will report back tomorrow with weight! Would love to lose 2 pound which means I've hit my first stone off but we shall see!

Flamethrowers · 14/05/2025 22:01

I can report tht on week 11 on Mounjaro 2.5 I think about food a lot and even felt hunger this morning. Tonight I actually overeat, I can't go up though particularly with renewed stomach issues ( def triggered by fat).

I’m sure you do great as many of had great losses first week on 5mg.

my week is like this
Tusday hungry in morning so have protein porridge usually no lunch and then have light dinner
Wednesday -Thursday very limited food but tons of water and protein shakes, eat what I can at lunch and or dinner
Friday breakfast or lunch and dinner
Saturday breakfast and lunch
Sunday breakfast lunch and dinner
Monday brunch and dinner (currently jab Monday evenings)

I don’t snack at all since starting MJ it’s either a full meal or no meal , it’s a rule I made for myself as snacking is my culprit. Personally I’m ok with skipping meals and learning to eat only when hungry and stopping when full, something very related to emotional eating for me and I need to stick with it.

I usually gain monday- Tuesday , 0 on Wednesday and weightloss Thursday to Sunday morning . Last week I went from +2 to -4 in space of 3 days so don’t loose hope even when jab dosnt work for a day or two ☺️

Sorry to hear about tummy issues . Have you thought about a staggered increase. I’m doing that between 5 and 7.5.

2.5 only worked first 2 weeks for but 5mg remained full on week 4 of it so decided to do a staggered step to 7.5 . 40 clicks (5mg) , 46 clicks (~6mg) next week 50 clicks (6.25 mg) then 55 clicks (6.75 mg) and so far no SE increase but the suppression continues as previous weeks on 5mg but not too much as first week on 5mg

many have done 3.75 mg for a few weeks and that may stop the overeating without the huge increase if that could be a help

@Bipaloss thsnk you! I think they as long as my blood pressure is low, my stomach is dodgy and my thyroid medications need adjusting I'm going to have to stay low. I could easily maintain on 2.5 but another 12 pounds is going to be a challenge! I'm trying to think of all this as a training ground for post Mounjaro life / getting used to pangs

soupforbrains · 14/05/2025 23:11

sigh I’ve been away with work so I haven’t weighed myself as usual but I’ve eaten so bloody much the last two days and so I’m not looking forward to stepping onto the scales tomorrow.

am definitely increasing my dose next jab.

am understanding correctly you need 12 lb more off? If so with your concerns I would remain on low dose, even if that would take you quite a while? I’m only saying that because the only reason currently I am increasing dosage is to increase weight loss , if increasing dose is not an option, it may take time but I’m sure weightloss will continue if combined with calorie deficit .

hope you find the balance

Start of may I had a week off, a long weekend away celebrating week after made sure the loss and some more, didn’t increase dose.

im very very lucky that since starting MJ we on a travel freeze and I only have to do a day day trip or two a week, having overnights stay and client meals don’t know how I would cope in the long run

stay positive and adjust accordingly

thanks. My goal is to remain on 2.5 and minimise dairy (calcium supplement! and just eat super clean. I think it will take two to three months to lose the last 12 pounds but that is ok. It might get me more into a habit of healthy eating! My bmi is now around 24.5 and my mum said I looked slender yesterday which might be pushing it but I do look much better than two and a half months ago. and the reduced inflammation is brilliant: I can breathe again and my joints don't ache and I look younger (even self critical me can see that). So I'm marching on (with loo stops!). Thank you for commenting and for support.

Update....I did it! 2 pound off so that's exactly a stone in 8 weeks. Absolutely delighted. Onwards and downward!

Height 5 foot
SW 14-7 BMI 39.8
CW 13-7 ♥️ BMI 36.9
GW 11-7 BMI 31.4 then review.

So I'm a third of my way to my first target!

TheBossOfMe · 15/05/2025 09:46

@Flamethrowers The sounds like a brilliant set of NSVs, well done! 2 to 3 months to lose the last 12 is a really sensible goal, it'll fly by and fly off.

@soupforbrains Business trips/client meals are an absolute killer, even if you're really measured around how much food you eat at a single meal, it's a lot of meals, with an inability to really know what's in them or control calories/nutritional balance. I feel your pain.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader @GiveMeWordGames Hakkasan was amazing, food absolutely delicious, and was actually easier to control volume of food intake than I thought because it was mostly sharing plates, so nobody notices if you only have a small bit of everything, even if it was a bit calorie dense. And very boozy. Will see what happens to the scales over the next couple of days, but stepping on them today showed a steady weight vs yesterday, which is better than I normally do after Chinese food, I usually retain water really badly. I tried to avoid anything swimming in soy sauce, and swerved the rice and noodles completely, there was plenty of nice seafood and vegetable dishes to indulge in. Although OMG the duck was so good.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 15/05/2025 09:54

Good morning all

@TheBossOfMe please tell me you threw caution to the wind last night and ate a bit of everything at Hakkasan, I thought of you when I was eating my chicken salad last night.

I am a daily weigher and the scales have not budged again this week, I am hoping that I a woosh tonight.

Today I managed to get into some new jeans that were tight last week, so it seems I am losing inches but it’s not showing on the scales.
I feel really nice today and for the first time in ages I have a confidence that has disappeared for the last few years, it was just hiding under a layer of fat.

Note that this was before I finished styling my hair and adding jewellery.
