New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

@GameOfJones That is a very lovely NSV, how wonderful!

I've switched from bovine collagen powder to capsules now - I'm drinking a lot less tea so the amount of powder in what I do drink is too "farmyard" for me now as well. I take so many supplements in the morning that a couple of extra capsules doesn't make a difference!

Wearing a very lovely summer dress today - and realised for the first time that I actually really do look slim in the mirror. Got a "wow" from DP this morning! I think my eyes and brain are finally catching up. However, I also look very untoned - I meant to dial up the weights and dial down the cardio last week but with everything going on I just didn't really do anything at all. I'm usually a morning exerciser but I think right now I'm going to have to accept mornings are too chaotic and I need to do it after work. At least that's fewer hours in the evening where I'm tempted to snack!

Mid-week accountability weigh in. Scales holding steady, in spite of not really thinking about what I've been eating this week and a couple of of glasses of wine every evening.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 8st 10.4lb/122.4lb BMI 21.6 - 22.2lb down, 98% of target achieved.
GW 8st 10lb/122lb (22.6lb total target loss, 0.4lb to go (2.4 allowing 2 for a bounce) BMI 21.6

Loss by week:
W1 (2.5) 5.5lb
W2 (2.5) 1.3lb
W3 (2.5) 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 (5) 3.3lb
W5 (5) 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 (5) 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 (5) 2.6lb
W8 (5) 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
W9 (7.5) 1.1lb (NY trip)
W10 (7.5) 1.1lb (Hakkasan and weekend away)
W11 (7.5 split dose) 3.7lb (Chelsea, BH weekend)
W12 (7.5 split dose) 2.2lb gain (half term, River Cafe, birthday weekend away)
W13 (7.5 split dose) 3.2lb
W14 so far (7.5 split dose) 0.1lb so far. I'll take that under the circumstances!

Thank you everyone about the advice on managing anxiety - I've been loading on magnesium and trying to keep blood sugar stable, plus slept for a long time last night, and it definitely feels much better today.

@Flamethrowers I'd take that bra back if you're not happy with the fit. Rigby and Peller pride themselves on fit by sight, but I've found them very hit and miss indeed.

@TheBossOfMe The woman was really disengaged as well. I felt quite exposed. She didn't give me a gown so I stood around sadly with my boobs out. Disappointing. Last time I got an excellent woman.

TheBossOfMe · 11/06/2025 12:35

@Flamethrowers That's awful, they should be protecting your dignity at all times! I'd both return and complain. I think R&P really does depend on how good each individual fitter is.

needtolose70lb · 11/06/2025 13:21

@TheBossOfMe That sounds super tough but what you are doing to help will have a lifelong positive impact on those kids. Just being present and caring will honestly do so much for their long-term mental health, even if short-term is chaotic and awful. Also wanted to say that if they are super thin then big meals might be difficult to digest. If you focus on protein and good fats like you would do on MJ then that will be easier, especially if you can put them in to small bowls and pots so they don't look overwhelming. Lots of smaller things to snack on and more frequently. So cooked chicken in a little pot. Boiled eggs in a bowl. Little cheeses in a drawer. Individual full fat greek yoghurts. Snack packs of fruit. Pots of hummus with some easy wraps or things to dip in. Encourage them to eat little and often and drink water.

@Flamethrowers I was so humiliated in a Rigby & Peller when I went to treat myself to some wedding underwear that I have had The Fear ever since! I also spent an absolute fortune because I felt like shit from the way i was being talked to/about. So stupid. Now i would either walk out or tell them to stop being a bitch but i scuttled out with a bagful of ill-fitting stuff and an empty bank account!

I have had an off week or two with lots of visitors and parties. I haven't piled on teh weight but I have bounced around the same couple of poounds and not been able to get my walking in so feel a bit shite.

Anyway, all finishes on Monday when the last ones leave so I am going to just try not to worry about it all until then.

Flamethrowers · 11/06/2025 13:28

It's was really wierd the bra strap literally pulled my skin in around my spine and made a tunnel of flesh. She couldn't give a F. She was fairly new to the job

seasidehunter · 11/06/2025 13:36

@Amjam2025 The supplier switch has been successful - I've gone with Pharmulous because I've read some good reports about their approach to maintenance. I did all their online forms yesterday and then got an email today asking me to fill out online identification check using drivers licence, and to send them full body photo with evidence of previous prescription (just took photo of box with label). Couple of hours later and they've emailed back to say all approved.

TheBossOfMe · 11/06/2025 13:55

That's really good advice @needtolose70lb Thank you.

Amjam2025 · 11/06/2025 14:33

@seasidehunter oh wow that's amazing, thanks so much for letting me know! I might give them a whirl - if I can..... I've already got a 7.5mg pen that I haven't actually opened yet but i'm concerned that when (if) I go back to Superdrug for my next one, she might give me a big, fat no. I cant order from your new supplier now as they will see the date that the new pen was prescribed, and if I wait until it has ran out - my BMI will be below 25 ( I hope lol!) Hmmmmm

seasidehunter · 11/06/2025 14:38

@Amjam2025 The prescription I sent a photo of was dated 29/5 - so not that long ago. Similar to you I wanted to get the swap made before I go below 25 and I didn't know how long it would take.

2025mj · 11/06/2025 15:34

Hello

I haven't caught up with recent posts but I've just had my first 7.5mg delivered. I've still got two doses left on 5mg but I don't feel like it's doing all that much. I have lost 16kg Altogether though

How did everyone find 7.5? X

Justformounjaro · 11/06/2025 16:09

TheBossOfMe · 10/06/2025 21:54

@Justformounjaro I had the same problem with dose extraction with a needle. I don't think I've cracked it but some tips - before you put the syringe in, prime with a needle tip and flick hard to get air out (yes I know that means you're using both a needle tip and syringe in one dose but they're not expensive vs MJ itself). Pull the plunger up really slowly, almost in slow motion. That minimises bubbling. If you get downwards pull on the syringe let that happen, and then draw up again. And then rest the syringe for 5 mins, flick and prime to get air out and see how much you really have.

Also fruity American cream soda sounds good - how do you make that?

I’d read that it was easier to pull the syringe you are going to inject from to the level you want to inject and then insert into the pen - a “vacuum” (??) will then expel the MJ into the syringe. It appears to work for me but with lots of bubbles that I’m paranoid about injecting so I flick the syringe a lot! 😀

My “Fruity American Soda” is just squash (Tesco Tropical in my case) made with sparkling water and 10mg of Willpowders collagen. It fizzes up and is quite creamy and really pleasant to drink. I definitely don’t get a farmyard whiff.

It’s the first bag of collagen I’ve bought - more than anything for the protein content - and I’d been wondering about swapping and trying something else but I might rethink that. I’ve been inundated recently with ads for Elavate, has anyone tried it? I don’t like the trash talking of other collagen brands in their ads though. It feels very like American political adverts 😀

LilyLondon · 11/06/2025 16:17

@Justformounjaro I also keep getting their ads, and overall a ton of ads for collagen and they all go like “Tired of taking collagen that isn’t absorbed? Well OURS is the only one that does” and all it’s doing is making me doubt any and all of them lol.

I’m halfway through my second tub of Bare Biology (marine) one and I think I can see a difference in my skin - but I started it at the same time as Wegovy, which means I’m drinking around 100x more water than before, so hard to say if it’s fixed my hands or I’m just more hydrated now.

I’ve just learnt that you apparently need bovine collagen for joint health as the marine one is for skin only??? Is that a thing?

Lolliz87 · 11/06/2025 16:32

Flamethrowers · 11/06/2025 08:39

Completely stalled and even forgot to take the Mounjaro this week. turkey neck. Dizzy on standing (low blood pressure). And wierd food cravings (last three meals, including breakfast just now, were - chicken amatriciana and - in a different bowl - Greek yogurt with a lot of chocolate soya desert mixed in - bloody delicious and 51g of protein.) went to rigby and peller for a new bra, stupidly expensive and very badly measured (actually she didn't measure she estimated). It pinched my back and made my boobs spill out the cups but she insisted it fit despite my protestations so I bought it. I am now simmering.

Edited

God take that back! Were you in the London or Harrogate store? They are too expensive just to swallow the cost if it doesn’t fit xx

Lolliz87 · 11/06/2025 16:35

again a manic week so far but just wanted to say I went into another stone bracket this morning, one I haven’t seen in about 2 years!!!! Wooohoooo. 2 stone 10 pounds off now, want to reach 3 stone by end of June. 🤞

Hiya

first 4 doses of 5 mg worked well for me but then did another 5mg and 4 x 6mg and plateaued though it

did my first 7.5 mg and kickstarted weightloss again with 5 days of full suppression , only SE has been dizziness (especially when moving, sitting down /standing up etc) upped my vitamins to see if it helps. The only thing I have noticed is that I’m craving sweet stuff since yesterday (due jab tonight)

Ingangoolie · 11/06/2025 16:53

@Flamethrowers definitely take it back. I like shopping at Bravissimo, had good experiences.

not noticed any farmyard smells with collagen, I also take it with blackcurrant or OJ for the vitamin c for absorption so maybe this masks the smell?
skin definitely smoother and springier, maybe also the water and exercise and vastly improved diet 😏

Chilldrill · 11/06/2025 18:51

I take omnia powdered, unflavoured bovine collagen, 10, 000 mg per serving, it's cheap from amazon so I put up with whiffiness, which when you think of what it's made from makes sense really. Anyhow no hair loss and skins as springy as can be for a nigh on 60 Yr old, wtf is liz hurley using BTW? seen her sixtieth birthday photos jeez, I struggled to look like that at 20. think my sil uses nutrition geeks which is a bit more expensive, not sure on the mg per serving, but I switched to the one I use because it gives the magic 10, 000 mg per serving. The stuff I used before from asda was marine and only gave 500 per serving, also powdered gives better absorption I believe.

TryForSpring · 11/06/2025 20:11

Another one who had an awful Rigby & Peller experience. Absolutely take it all back. I did, having been covertly pressured into buying stuff I wasn't comfortable in. Think I posted it back.

Puddingpiper · 11/06/2025 20:27

@LilyLondonmarine is skin, nail and hair. Bovine is joints and connective tissue. They have also linked marine to gut health and better sleep but not sure how much there is to back those claims up. I take both I can taste the farm of the bovine in plain water but is fine with flavoured electrolytes. I’ve also been recommended to try it in iced coffee. You need plenty of vitamin C to absorb the collagen or it is just expensive urine. Most come with added vitamin C now though x

soupforbrains · 11/06/2025 23:15

I take collagen powder capsules. I did liquid shots for a bit because research says that liquid collagen is absorbed best but they were absolutely vile so I only managed it for 3 days and have the remaining 27 lurking in my kitchen. The capsules are great and taste of nothing. natural dietary collagen is the best collagen though so if you can cook up some bone broth and then add it to your bolognaise, lasagne, casseroles, gravy etc. you’ll be better off.

on the golden dose. I do it the same way as you @Fatmumslim01doing it with the pen on top minimises air bubbles. I have found that holding the pen upside down, giving it several sharp flicks from all sides makes sure no air bubbles are lurking in the opening. Then I pull down very slowly.

@Flamethrowersdefo take the bra back. R&P have been cruising on their reputation and the fact the Queen got her bras there for far too long. They are largely hopeless. Return it and then go and shop at Boux Avenue instead. Their fitters are skilled, and lovely and they listen. Plus they have a great range of bras for all sizes. Even if you’re ultra busty like me.

im pre-menstrual today and I realised that this month is the first month since starting MJ that I’ve had my usual bad period cramps. I hadn’t even noticed that I wasn’t having them! That’s definitely been a bonus. Shame it’s not worked this month though!

TheBossOfMe · 12/06/2025 09:39

Momentous day today. I've reached goal weight, actually gone a bit below.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 8st 9.7lb/121.7lb BMI 21.6 - 22.9lb down, 101% of target achieved.
GW 8st 10lb/122lb (22.6lb total target loss, 0lb to go) BMI 21.6

Loss by week:
W1 (2.5) 5.5lb
W2 (2.5) 1.3lb
W3 (2.5) 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 (5) 3.3lb
W5 (5) 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 (5) 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 (5) 2.6lb
W8 (5) 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
W9 (7.5) 1.1lb (NY trip)
W10 (7.5) 1.1lb (Hakkasan and weekend away)
W11 (7.5 split dose) 3.7lb (Chelsea, BH weekend)
W12 (7.5 split dose) 2.2lb gain (half term, River Cafe, birthday weekend away)
W13 (7.5 split dose) 3.2lb
W14 so far (7.5 split dose) 0.8lb so far.

I've lost a truly incredible 8.5 inches off my waist. That is absolutely extraordinary. I know I still have a body fat issue, and need to build muscle (OMG the bingo wings and stomach!). But 8.5 inches off the waist has got to have helped with the diabetes/cardiovascular disease risk.

I'm going to try and get another pound or so off to allow for a bounce as I add calories back in, but that's it. I've got an appointment with my provider this afternoon (booked a little while ago) to discuss maintenance approach, I have some thoughts from a lot of lurking on maintenance threads that I'd like to talk to them about, so will report back after that on what I'm going to do. I know I can maintain well, I managed it at my start weight for a couple of years. But honestly I felt like crying when I saw that number on the scales today. I never thought I'd see that weight again, I found losing so, so hard pre MJ.

Has it been easy? Absolutely not, hence the slightly erratic weight loss pattern, I've absolutely had to use willpower alongside MJ. I've had to exercise quite a lot to get enough of a calorie deficit in because I'm a short arse foodie. And I've had to put lots of strategies in place on how to manage the situations that led me to put the weight on in the first place. Hopefully I've re-educated my brain, tastebuds and stomach along this journey. But whilst it's not been all down to MJ, I know I couldn't have got here without it.

It is truly a miracle drug. And you are truly miracle people - the support here has been absolutely invaluable❤

RuthEvershedforPM · 12/06/2025 09:48

Wowsers @TheBossOfMe what an inspiring post - you’ve done it! What a lovely lovely point to be at, congratulations.

Also thinking about you and the children, am sure it’s having a huge impact

Beinthepresent · 12/06/2025 10:13

Well done @TheBossOfMe !
Weigh in day for me. End of week 12. Lost 1.3 kilos this week, I upped to 3.3 last week and decided to stick at it again, felt very tired and a bit tearful but do have a lot of ongoing stress so hard to say if it's the mj or just me. Total of 13.2 kilos lost so far.
That puts me at cw of 90.7 kilos. Very close to my mini goal of 89 kilos! And am now 199 .9 lbs nice to be under 200 even if only just!

needtolose70lb · 12/06/2025 10:51

Wow, @TheBossOfMe , that's amazing. Congratulations!

Weigh in day for me today as well and I have only lost half a pound this week. Not a total surprise after the last couple of weeks.

SW 17st 4
CW 13st 12.2
TW 12st 4 but would like the 11s

Absolutely fabulous news @TheBossOfMe well done!

Id love to hear your maintenance journey as although it's along way off for me I'm intrigued to see how people are doing it. I think I'm going to be on MJ for life as the positive effects not just weight loss are to good to give up!

Great news here for me also....after my 2 weeks stall where I didn't lose any weight I got weighed today and I've lost 3 pounds!! So thats a total of 19 pound in 12 weeks! So pleased. 1.5 pounds to go and I'll have lost 10% off my starting weight! Although th scales I use in boots I'm not aure if they do half pound measurements as I've I my ever had single digits so it may have to be 2 pound!

Still can't decide whether to stick with 5 or go up to 7.5. it's the jump in cost to 7.5 that's putting me off really.

Anyway here my numbers
Height 5 foot

SW 21st march 14-7
CW 13-2
GW 11-7 as a mini goal. Final goal 9-7.
