New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

@TheBossOfMe That sounds like a really difficult situation. Make sure you're taking care of yourself - as I was saying yesterday, I'm pretty sure low blood sugar makes my anxiety worse. Also, as I found out yesterday, being sleep deprived also sends my anxiety through the roof - a good night's sleep has meant I feel a bit more in control of the anxiety today.

GameOfJones · 10/06/2025 13:38

That does sound difficult @TheBossOfMe . Thinking of you and the teens you're looking after 💐.

yikesanotherbooboo · 10/06/2025 13:50

I’m much more aware of the effects of Mounjaro on 10 mg; tiredness, feeling cold, easily full and on days 4 and 5 in particular a vague nausea.
SW 84 kg
CW 71 kg
GW still unsure , a normal BMI but not really fixed on where in the range.

LilyLondon · 10/06/2025 14:05

@TheBossOfMe gosh it’s sounds awfully stressful, and in addition to that, just like a ton of work at all times. Can’t imagine you have even five minutes to yourself to rest.

Yesterday was my jab day and I dreaded it tbh, I still had good suppression and no food noise. Last week was the same and I felt off/fatigued/hungry (??? talk about a blip???) for the first 3 days after the jab. Well today I’m feeling terrible again, clearly 0.7mg Wegovy is too much and I’ll be tapering down from next week (and also - extending to injecting every 8 days, to move from Monday to a Saturday before I go on vacation in July).

Amjam2025 · 10/06/2025 14:07

@TheBossOfMe Yes 27 is odd, I did question it and she got her big book of info out - checked and confirmed that it was correct. I am worrying slightly as I don't think I could switch providers now with my BMI pretty much in the 'normal range'. I got a 7.5mg pen though and at the moment I am taking 2.5mg so should last me a while even if it is my last!
I'm sorry to hear about your difficult personal situation at the moment, it sounds like you are being a huge support to others, and that can be tough on you... so look after yourself and stay strong - vent on here if it helps!
In regards to feeling anxious - I've heard others take magnesium to help. I've ordered some myself and I'm going to give it a try, for me its more for the digestive issues I have been suffering from but I'm sure i've also heard people say its good for anxiety too. Hope things get better soon!

seasidehunter · 10/06/2025 14:45

@Amjam2025 I'm just in the process of trying to change supplier with a BMI of 25.8. Hoping it won't be a problem. Previous supplier has got a bit difficult with communication (needs a video consultation but booking one at a time I can do is virtually impossible) so I want to switch before I reach BMI 25. I'm hoping it will be a smooth switch.

Oooh so very similar to me @seasidehunter I think i'm 25.something too. I am assuming it will be difficult to switch with being so close, but i've not actually tried.... so hopefully i'm wrong. If successful, please let me know!

Lovely to see all the scale victories and NSVs, and hope you had a lovely birthday week @Yellowsubmarine55

@Amjam2025 I've not heard of 27 being the cut off point anywhere - how odd. My provider is happy to keep prescribing even at the BMI that I'm at now so long as it falls within a healthy weight range. I stayed with a 5/2.5 split this week even though I got a 10mg pen, and glad I did, I think 5/5 would have been too much again. I ate out with old friends last night, enjoyed my food but am starting to find it much easier now to judge how much is going to leave me feeling pleasantly sated but not overfull (kicks in about 30 mins to an hour after eating for me, so since it's not immediate I can't go by in the moment stomach signals). Scales holding steady overnight, which is good.

I'm also feeling very anxious, but I don't think it's the MJ, I have a really horrible personal situation going on that is causing a lot of stress, but also means I'm in caregiver role to two teenagers who are the children of a close friend who is unable to care for them right now. They've had a lot of stress themselves because of what's been happening, and are very thin, so I need to feed them up a bit, and model really positive healthy eating habits in front of them. But the situation is very volatile and the future very uncertain, so I'm chalking how I feel down to that for now, but will keep an eye on it. If the anxiety doesn't reduce as the situation hopefully stabilises at least, then I might reduce my dose and see if it helps.

Just want to say what you are doing for your friend and most importantly the children is amazing.
I hope their situation improves, you are the person that is starting them on the right path to future success.

Pre Start Weight: 15st 6.5lbs
Start Weight MJ: 15st 0lbs
Goal Weight: Undecided

Current Weight: 13st 8.3lbs
Loss on MJ: 1st 5.7lbs (19.7 lbs)
Total loss: 1st 12.2lbs (26.2lbs)

I didn’t get round to posting my results after a week away when I wasn’t able to weight myself and had ate and drunk a lot of calories and put on a couple of pounds when I went on the scales. However, since coming home on Friday, I have seen most of the gain disappear (only 0.5lbs up on weight from 2 weeks ago) so hopefully by next week I’ll be back on track.

I accidentally managed to increase the amount I injected this week. I use a new needle to extract every dose (and another one to inject) but I’m not very good at withdrawing the dose without any bubbles (so any tips about how to do it would be appreciated) I managed to withdraw a bit over 3.3mg and realised I’d be squirting away a lot to get back down to 2.5mg so decided to brave using the higher dose. Thankfully I’ve not had any side effects. I’m still not feeling suppression, I can eat my usual meals quite normally but I don’t fancy any snacks other than a small piece of chocolate with a milky coffee after lunch and dinner, a protein yoghurt on days when I’m not managing to get enough protein, and my collagen powder mixed into squash made with sparkling water - it comes out something like a fruity American Cream Soda.

Some amazing results and some difficult situations going on but hopefully you will all be able to keep focus on your weight goals 🫂

TheBossOfMe · 10/06/2025 21:28

Thank you everyone for your amazing support, as always, this group continues to be the gift that keeps on giving in so many ways. I'm hopeful of a positive outcome but preparing for what might need to happen over the next few months. Considering coming off MJ for a bit, will have a think, but these kids are so thin, really, really underweight, and not in the best mental shape, so I might need to park weight loss for a bit and focus on getting them a bit calorie loaded. I'm so close to goal that I don't think it's an issue (and that would always be secondary in this situation anyway), but the good news is that over the past couple of years my stress response would have been comfort eating. MJ might have changed that back to my old stress response from years ago - I want for a run this evening instead of stuffing my face with empty calories. It was a shit slow run. A tortoise can run faster than me 😂But I did it. That's a win. Even if it was a very slow one!!!!

TheBossOfMe · 10/06/2025 21:54

@Justformounjaro I had the same problem with dose extraction with a needle. I don't think I've cracked it but some tips - before you put the syringe in, prime with a needle tip and flick hard to get air out (yes I know that means you're using both a needle tip and syringe in one dose but they're not expensive vs MJ itself). Pull the plunger up really slowly, almost in slow motion. That minimises bubbling. If you get downwards pull on the syringe let that happen, and then draw up again. And then rest the syringe for 5 mins, flick and prime to get air out and see how much you really have.

Also fruity American cream soda sounds good - how do you make that?

Chilldrill · 10/06/2025 22:44

Well nearly two and a half stone down and I'm getting a bit weary of the side effects, yesterday was awful so constipated I vomited, today the opposite, so different from the first month when I was losing great and hardly any side effects. I think it's time to start winding it down and maybe think it time to stop. I have two more pens and about another stone to lose so think that'll do me. I look like a bloody bag lady because nothing fits and I'm scared t get new clothes in case I clap it all back on again. 😂
Anyway minor things in comparison to some, and I take my collagen in squash too! Still got a slight whiff of farmyard to it though 😂 night everyone

northernlight20 · 11/06/2025 07:24

Good morning everyone, I am so happy this morning. Jab 15 this morning, going up to 9mg. Sw 114.4kg, current weight 99.9kg and bmi has gone from 45.3 to 39.5. I’m now under 3 digits, can’t believe it. It’s a miracle 😊

Flamethrowers · 11/06/2025 08:39

Completely stalled and even forgot to take the Mounjaro this week. turkey neck. Dizzy on standing (low blood pressure). And wierd food cravings (last three meals, including breakfast just now, were - chicken amatriciana and - in a different bowl - Greek yogurt with a lot of chocolate soya desert mixed in - bloody delicious and 51g of protein.) went to rigby and peller for a new bra, stupidly expensive and very badly measured (actually she didn't measure she estimated). It pinched my back and made my boobs spill out the cups but she insisted it fit despite my protestations so I bought it. I am now simmering.

@TheBossOfMe hold on what do you mean about a downward pull, have I been doing the golden dose upside down?!

I've had the pen ontop of the syringe if that makes sense but I get loads of bubbles and resistance

SharpOpalNewt · 11/06/2025 09:01

Does anyone find that they join a Mounjaro Facebook group then it disappears?

That's twice it has happened now, thousands of members too.

The farmyard whiff is hard to eliminate. My latest method is put it in a hot electrolyte drink - like a kids Ribena on a cold day.

TheBossOfMe · 11/06/2025 09:38

@Fatmumslim01 I do it the other way round, syringe on top of pen. I found that gave me less bubbling. I know it's technically the wrong way round, but it works better for me. I still have to draw really slowly, and rest to let the bubbles merge into one big bubble which I then flick and get rid of.

You're making me nervous - I've got some collagen arriving today and I am an 'easy gagger' - the slightest unpleasant whiff from a food or weird texture and that's it, I'm gone! I will have to experiment....

TheBossOfMe · 11/06/2025 10:17

Mid-week accountability weigh in. Scales holding steady, in spite of not really thinking about what I've been eating this week and a couple of of glasses of wine every evening.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 8st 10.4lb/122.4lb BMI 21.6 - 22.2lb down, 98% of target achieved.
GW 8st 10lb/122lb (22.6lb total target loss, 0.4lb to go (2.4 allowing 2 for a bounce) BMI 21.6

Loss by week:
W1 (2.5) 5.5lb
W2 (2.5) 1.3lb
W3 (2.5) 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 (5) 3.3lb
W5 (5) 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 (5) 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 (5) 2.6lb
W8 (5) 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
W9 (7.5) 1.1lb (NY trip)
W10 (7.5) 1.1lb (Hakkasan and weekend away)
W11 (7.5 split dose) 3.7lb (Chelsea, BH weekend)
W12 (7.5 split dose) 2.2lb gain (half term, River Cafe, birthday weekend away)
W13 (7.5 split dose) 3.2lb
W14 so far (7.5 split dose) 0.1lb so far. I'll take that under the circumstances!

Thank you everyone about the advice on managing anxiety - I've been loading on magnesium and trying to keep blood sugar stable, plus slept for a long time last night, and it definitely feels much better today.

@Flamethrowers I'd take that bra back if you're not happy with the fit. Rigby and Peller pride themselves on fit by sight, but I've found them very hit and miss indeed.

What collagen are you all using?? I've got the powder from nutrition geeks, and have it in my first coffee I kind of know it's there (difficult not to woth 2 tbsps) but it doesn't smell of farmyard!

Chilldrill · 11/06/2025 11:00

@Flamethrowers agree take it back, bloody hell, if I bought one from tesco I'd take the bugger back if it didn't fit never mind rigby and peller!
@seasidehunter is it marine, or bovine?
I had some marine from asda that was OK in little one serve sachets, but they weren't strong enough, so I got some stronger strength bovine from amazon, it does whiff, but I dissolve it in hot water and add ribena in a small glass and down it in one once its cooled a bit, hold my nose and its done lol. My SIL has some more expensive stuff and hers doesn't seem to pong as bad so fingers crossed for you 😂🤞

SharpOpalNewt · 11/06/2025 11:01

I use "Weightworld" marine collagen tablets, two a day taken in the evening an hour after dinner. Seem to make me slightly pleasantly drowsy anyway. I don't know about the effect on hair and skin but my hair hasn't fallen out and my skin is pretty good.

Puddingpiper · 11/06/2025 11:03

@seasidehunteri take the marine collagen tablets from nutritiongeeks and the bovine powder from Weider Pepton which I mix with electrolytes in a morning and sip on for most of the day

GameOfJones · 11/06/2025 11:04

I also use marine collagen tablets. No idea if they do me any good but I take a few supplements every morning anyway so figure another to add to the list won't hurt. 🤣

Jab 15 done this morning and another NSV to report. DH gave me a cuddle in bed last night and stroked my stomach. Normally I'd absolutely hate that....not because of him but because I'd be so self conscious about my big belly, particularly if I'm laid on my side. But last night I didn't feel self conscious at all and just enjoyed a cuddle with him without feeling fat or frumpy. That is massive for me, that I'm starting to feel more confident in my own skin.
