New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

I am so sorry that you feel dishearted, 16lbs is a lot to lose and you will start to notice changes, I did not notice any changes accept in my fingers and feet for a good stone and a half and my clothes took a good 2 stone to look better, I was kidding myself with the size I actually was and wearing clothes that were too small and lived in leggings for most of last winter.

At the start MJ I had 60lbs to get to my goal weight, some weeks are disheartening but I just remember that in the last 3.5 months I could have put on another half a stone.

for those feeling disheartened the me360 app is very powerful for seeing the changes in your body I wish I had been brave enough to do it on day one

@BlackTreaclee Hi there! I'm one of the people that @GiveMeWordGames referred to who does a split dose to counter the problem of too much effect in the first few days and bad side effects, and then not enough later in the week. So I count clicks to give myself a 5/2.5 split dose on day 1 and day 5. With a 7mg pen that was 40 clicks and 20 clicks respectively, I now have a 10mg pen, which will be 30 clicks and 15 clicks respectively.

If you have a 10mg pen and want to do a 7.5/2.5 split, then it will be 40 and 20 clicks respectively. If you want to do a 5/5 split then it's 30 clicks each. You need to have minimum 72 hours between doses.

Cloud is definitely a legit company, so don't worry that you have a fake product, they're fully licensed.

GiveMeWordGames · 08/06/2025 12:39

@TheSpoonyNavyReader you are so right. Sometimes I don't feel like I've gone down in clothes size as much as I should for two stone. But the reality was my existing size clothes were getting tight - the whole reason I started MJ - and now I'm within touching distance of fitting comfortably into the size below.

BlackTreaclee · 08/06/2025 14:07

Thanks so much for this. I would happily pay for and inject every 4/5 days on the full dose but Im too worried about something bad happening, so I’ll try the split dose. I should have just tried this on the 7.5mg as it did work, but just half the time. What I’m worried about is that it just doesn’t work for me anymore, as opposed to the 10mg just not being the correct dosage. Only time will tell.

I know it’s legit I just thought it was strange that I changed provider and this has happened. Just a coincidence I guess. I’m sticking with Cloud as it’s more affordable than MedExpress

TheBossOfMe · 08/06/2025 16:59

@BlackTreaclee Thought I'd do a bit of googling for you whilst waiting for a laundry load to be done. It looks like from chats on some other forums that some people actually respond better to MJ on a lower dose and less so on a higher one. Nobody seems to understand why, but maybe you're in that camp? In which case going down to a 7.5mg dose and then topping up with a 2.5mg split dose to prolong the suppression might well be worth experimenting with.

@Fatmumslim01 @Amjam2025 I think your brains have just not caught up yet! You've both lost so well, it will definitely be noticeable, although I do think it all becomes more noticeable as time/weight loss goes on. Don't feel disheartened, you're doing brilliantly.

Happy Sunday all, good progress here

SW - 82.6
CW - 67.8
GW - 54

half way to target and definitely looking a bit better, I think my skin is a bit brighter for eating less crap.

But feeling really flat today - just bored shitless went for a long walks but no boost :( one of those Sundays where it’s almost better to be at work. Need some things to look forward to - my absolute fantasy is for something nice to happen that I don’t have to organise (violins out folks)

Ballbagisnotmyname · 08/06/2025 17:23

Little nsv for me today - went to our usual supermarket and the cashier spoke to me and asked how much weight I had lost! She said it was really noticeable and I don’t see her often! I have plateaued for the last 4 weeks but something is evidently changing!

Fatmumslim01 · 08/06/2025 17:31

Thanks for all the kind words, just got to keep plodding on

I know a few of us myself included are either currently doing or thinking of doing split doses. If anyone watches "my life's toil" on YouTube he's just done a video on split dosing.

I'm thinking of trying it as I'm getting so frustrated every day 5/6 with the food noise and hunger returning although often it gies away on day 7 jab day even before ive jabbed as I jab in the evening. I'm wondering if it's a bit psychological as days 5-6 are my days off and I'm home alone and a bit bored and lonely so I'm wondering if I'm hearing the food noise morw on those days if that nakes sense?

If I did split doses id need extra needles yes as I would use 8 a month and then would there be 2 bonus doses aswell?

tryingtobesogood · 08/06/2025 17:35

@RuthEvershedforPM funnily enough I’ve been really ratty lately because I’m the one who plans everything. Just now and then I’d love to just turn up somewhere with everything organised without me having to oversee anything.

RuthEvershedforPM · 08/06/2025 17:40

Sorry to hear it @tryingtobesogood x

soupforbrains · 08/06/2025 18:49

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine7 day Greek island hopping cruise followed by 7 days in Corfu. All of it premium all inclusive. Very much looking forward to it.

@BlackTreacleehello! Yes it sounds like split dosing could definitely help you. I’ve done it a few different ways as I started splitting very early on in the journey to help with some awful side effects I had.

I split my dose 50:50 as once you’ve done one week split it’s better to do it evenly as that maintains even levels in your system throughout. But I know that 3.5 day gaps don’t work for everyone. Early on I was injecting every 3 days. So I was doing a full dose every 6 days.

Now inject morning on day 1 and evening on day 4. For me thats Friday am and Monday pm. I’m currently doing 2.5/2.5 but I’ve been titrating my doses. I’ll be starting a new pen next dose and I’ve gone for a 7.5mg pen and I will gradually increase my dose.

one thing to know in advance is that you will need to buy additional needle tips since you’ll be injecting more often. They’re not hard to find and I got a big box of 100 from medi uk. Just search for insulin pen needle tips.

BlackTreaclee · 08/06/2025 18:52

@TheBossOfMe I did the 7.5mg earlier on and I can feel it working already. So must be that the 10mg doesn’t work for me. I’ll see how I get on with taking 2.5 on Thursday/Friday 😊. I will likely still increase next month to 12.5mg anyway just to see it that’s any better. Thanks for your advice

BlackTreaclee · 08/06/2025 18:55

@soupforbrains thanks! Is there a certain needle size I should order? I had hundreds left over from my pregnancy on insulin and stupidly through them away!

Amjam2025 · 08/06/2025 19:04

@soupforbrains did the split dose method help with your side effects staright away or did you have to stick with it for a bit? I got awful SE on 6.25mg (mild ones on 5mg but before that nothing at all) so I ended up stopping MJ for 2 weeks and have re started at 2.5mg. Got very little suppression and some very minor trapped wind pains. Really want to continue my journey and have suppression again but can't deal with the vomitting, diarrhoea and God awful stomach pains ever again lol.

Oooh a week in Greek islands....beautiful, bet you absolutely can't wait!

BlackTreaclee · 08/06/2025 19:15

@Amjam2025 I’ve had horrific side effects too and actually took about 11ish weeks to not be so bad. I really didn’t want to stop it though as I have to lose weight once and for all. I found having Cyclizine really helped on the days when the nausea and vomiting were bad enough that I couldn’t get out of bed. Not sure I could have continued without anti emetics, but as I said it has improved massively which I never thought it would

Ooooh thanks @BlackTreaclee . Sorry you've had a rough journey. Is that OTC or prescription? Did you have stomach cramps/pains too?

Edited

I get it prescribed anyway so it’s on repeat but I’m sure you can purchase it on an online pharmacy, I’ve seen someone post it somewhere. It really does help! Yes everytime I ate I got horrific pains and then diarrhoea, I had to eat all of my meals at home or near a toilet. I still get diarrhoea but nowhere near as bad and I do have IBS so it could just be that. If MJ is working for you then maybe try and persevere and make sure to take it before the days when you don’t have to work or be out

soupforbrains · 08/06/2025 20:04

@Amjam2025it helped pretty much immediately.

it’s the leap between the low and the high in your system which triggers the more violent SEs for me. Like aggressive violent vomiting etc. splitting the dose maintains a more consistent level in your bloodstream without such peaks and troughs. So since splitting I’ve been able to go up doses without having any SEs.

Amjam2025 · 08/06/2025 22:00

@TheBossOfMe I feel great when im clothed lol, feel and look slimmer. However, as soon as I got my swimming costume on and sat by the pool in Spain, I felt fat, lumpy, frumpy and bloated :(
Anyways, I need to stop feeling sorry for myself, stop moaning and focus on getting to my next goal and hopefully feeling better!!

@soupforbrains @BlackTreaclee thanks so much for the info and advice, that's super helpful!!

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 09/06/2025 08:23

Morning all, well after my minor crisis last week, abd 1lb gain, I'm down 3lbs this week. Really happy with that. So I'm 1lb away from 2.5st so hope to reach that next Monday.

I didn't jab last night, I've felt much better the last few days so thought I'd leave it til tonight as did Monday last week. Will stick with 5mg.

@soupforbrains your holiday sounds AMAZING!

Well, I've decided to break up with MJ! After having a fairly easy ride, I've had an awful few days. It started when I ate too much one night on holiday on Wednesday and was sat on the toilet for most of the following day. Felt ok-ish by Friday so injected when I got home. Worst weekend ever! I had to get my SIL to collect my kids as I felt so light headed and vulnerable. I can't have that happening to me ever again and it's simply not worth it. I have 3 does of 7.5mg left so deciding whether or not to titrate down or just come off.

Will go alone for the last 10lb. This time I know I can do it.

Best of luck to you all!

I’m sorry to hear your experience , like you have felt light headed on 7.5 but not in combo of stomach issues

considering you have 3 doses left perhaps consider splitting out the doses to tilter down ? Took a screen shot of the clicks if it helps

good luck on your continued journey with out MJ please stay on group for the support x

tryingtobesogood · 09/06/2025 11:57

I have found 7.5mg really difficult. I get almost total suppression at the beginning of the week then I am ravenously hungry at the end of the week. I have taken 2/3 of a dose, as I am going away tomorrow and want to be able to at least eat a meal or two. Then I am skipping a week. I need a break from the constant stomach issues, over suppression, and nausea. @Choirgirl699 if i was as close to goal as you are I would also stop MJ. I have 3.5 st more to go, and am finding it all a bit of a trial.

Fatmumslim01 · 09/06/2025 12:18

I've ordered some extra needles so I can try a split doses if I want to.

Although this week it feels like I've injected water tbh. Definitely hungry etc. 🙄
