New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

My scales showed a weight starting with 14 today. I am so proud!

About half a stone a month and I’m just thrilled! I am a third of the way through the total I’d like to lose and it has been so, so easy that I actually believe I can do it. I just need to be patient- difference being that this time it doesn’t take hard work too. In the past my weight loss attempts have been such a chuffing slog, and I’ve given up. I truly believe I won’t this time though because I really don’t have to try- just jab and forget, my appetite does the rest.

(other meds I’m taking might also have an impact on appetite but I’m still doing a smaller MJ dose than I was on before and getting same result so hurrah)

Hi everyone, happy Friday! A lot of Friday morning weighers here, and I’m also one- I’ve just had such a busy I haven’t had chance to post yet but I’ve been dying to because it’s a big one! I’m even going to post a progress photo! (Might take a sec to be approved). So I’ve hit…. THREE STONE LOST!! I am so happy!

Start weight: 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight: 10 stone 6.2lbs

Lost this week: 3.0lbs

Total loss: 3 stone 0.3lbs (or 42.3lbs)

Height 5’ 5”, starting BMI 30.9 (obese), current BMI 24.4 (normal). Target weight 10 stone 0lbs or just under.

TryingMJ Wow! Amazing transformation 👏

Flaitch · 07/06/2025 10:18

@Ingangoolie i already take these, take 3 every morning but thank you.

@TryForSpring thanks, I do take magnesium but it’s in a multivitamin so may have to try that on its own. I drink a litre of water with the psyllium. Dulcloese has never worked for me 🤷🏼‍♀️. Think I might up to 3 psyllium with the magnesium and see how I go. Thank you both x

MrsAlwaysRight · 07/06/2025 10:22

I've moved from the obese category into overweight with today's weigh in. Super slow going, 1 stone and 5 pounds since 1st March. Keep telling myself that slow progress better than no progress!

Yellowsubmarine55 · 07/06/2025 10:32

Some great news on this thread recently, it's so positive.... @TryingMJ you look amazing!

@Flaitch I have dried prunes as well as psyllium husk and never had any issues with regularity.

I'll add to the happy vibe but admittedly not really in the same league but I hit 2 stone yesterday just in time for my birthday ♥️

Hubby gave me some money for a clothes shopping spree for a few bits and I'm impressing him with my £1 tops from vinted.

I also navigated a girly lunch out with my friends and all of them said I was looking fantastic. I did have cake but I didn't really enjoy it as was too sweet with lots of icing but no luckily ill effects really.

Going to my parents for dinner later and mum, bless her, called and asked me what is suitable for pudding so she's getting strawberries in for everyone whereas it used to be cheesecake, pavlova or trifle.

TryingMJ · 07/06/2025 11:37

Thank you everyone for all your lovely comments! Took my jab last night (5mg) and now off for a child-free weekend away with DP, not going to overdo it but planning drinks and small plates tonight and brunch tomorrow. And I’m so happy with the new outfits I’ve got for the weekend- in size 12!!

GiveMeWordGames · 07/06/2025 11:39

@TryingMJ WOW, what a transformation!👏

I definitely bang the drum for magnesium citrate or oxide to help soften things up. Ironically, being more prone to the opposite problem I usually avoid them in favour of Glycinate which is better for sleep and less known for getting things moving.

I am happy today because I hit my 2 stone mark! That's in just under 11 weeks. On this thread I sometimes have to remind myself that I started LATE in March so I need to be careful of measuring against where quite a few of you are. And, yes, I know, comparison is daft and a hiding to nowhere anyway and I would say that to anyone else doing it. 😁

Congratulations @MrsAlwaysRight and @Yellowsubmarine55 I feel you. Over the last few years since my Dad died, a habit has formed of having tea and cake/biscuits/cheesecake whenever I visit my Mum in the afternoon. She knows nothing about me being on MJ so I've just told her I'm calorie counting and similar to yours, she's often reverted to strawberries (and meringue but I can nibble at that).

ilovegreenbeans · 07/06/2025 11:54

Hello and 🥳🥳🥳 for all the successes and victories on here! Also much sympathies to those struggling with those oh so relatable downs. Just catching up after a busy half term and then long week at work.
Am also a late March starter so just in my 11th week. I have lost 30lb in that time which is mind- boggling and feels fantastic. NSV today is that I am not wearing shapewear, but instead am feeling great in a very lacy matching set!!
I have gone to a 7.5mg pen this week and am definitely feeling different... the suppression is good but I'm achey and tired. Not feeling the glow I felt on 2.5 and 5... I might think about reducing my dose for a few weeks and see what happens. I have about 8kg to go so I'm OK with taking that slowly.
Happy Saturday everyone!

GiveMeWordGames · 07/06/2025 12:22

@ilovegreenbeans well done on 30lb!

That's interesting how you feel on 7.5. We're clearly on a similar trajectory and losing at a similar rate and I'm coming to the end of my second 5mg pen (last dose on Monday). I've been debating moving up as I'm noticing less fullness/suppression than a couple of weeks ago but on the other hand Im still doing well loss-wise and feeling great, no SEs any more so I'm not in a hurry to poke the SE bear again by going up if I don't need to.

TryForSpring · 07/06/2025 13:07

You need considerably more magnesium than you'll get in a multivitamin, @Flaitch.

And psyllium dosage:

Yes, I think I had a little panic that I should move up but now that I take a step back, I was managing a good steady loss with minimal SE... I might go to 6.25 mg next week and then back to 5 if all is still well. I suppose with the 7.5 mg pen at least there's the option to move up again later this month if I need to.

TheBossOfMe · 07/06/2025 14:45

@TryingMJ Wow wow wow! You look amazing. Well done to you and @TheSpoonyNavyReader for 3 stone off, that's amazing. Lovely to see so many scale and NSVs.

Almost erased the gain of last week, 1.9lb down this week, but will likely see some of that erode over the next couple of days, I'm out a lot for friends' birthdays and have teenagers in residence again. But at least the scale is moving, if it takes a couple of weeks to get the whole 2.2lb gain off that's ok. Onwards, downwards :)

Fatmumslim01 · 07/06/2025 18:24

Feeling a bit disheartened today.

Took the DC swimming and although I've lost 16 pound im not seeing or feeling the difference in my clothes yet. DH says he can see a difference 🤔

Took the DC swimming today and my costume (I wear a burkini style so leggings and a dress) is still cutting into my tummy on the waistband, sigh.

Just feel like I'm missing the crutch of food to cheer my up,and something to look forward to. Like tonight DH and I would normally share a bottle of wine and a snack with the TV but food and wine just doesn't appeal anymore and I miss it. I'll have a little bit to join etc.

16 pounds down 54 to go to my final target, feels like a mountain 😔

tryingtobesogood · 07/06/2025 19:07

@Fatmumslim01 I’m sorry you aren’t seeing the changes yet, it’s frustrating isn’t it. But you are doing amazingly, you’ve lost 22% of your target, which is fantastic. I bet there was a time you would have loved to have lost this weight.

I get what you mean about food and wine as a crutch. I miss wine too, the idea of it really. It doesn’t agree with me on MJ. it’s a shame

Amjam2025 · 07/06/2025 21:01

@Fatmumslim01 im sorry youre feeling down. I went on holiday recently and didn't feel great...knocked my confidence a bit. 16lb is fantastic, you should be so proud and I bet you in a week or so you suddenly notice a difference. Have a bit of wine and some treats, enjoy your evening and remind yourself how amazing you're doing! Keep going and set yourself mini goals...like little molehills rather than seeing a mountain to climb, you will get there :)

LilyLondon · 07/06/2025 23:02

@Fatmumslim01 sorry you’re feeling down, I know well what you mean about using food to cheer you up. I’ve just noticed that my phone addiction is getting really bad, I’m not picking up my phone when in the past I’d get a snack… but it’s just not hitting the spot so I can’t focus on anything properly these days… really missing that joy of the perfect yummy treat

Sloelydoesit · 07/06/2025 23:07

Last night I separated my pile of jeans into months where I think I will fit into them! Thought it would be a good NSV - mind you I don't weigh so all mine are nsv

In bad news I ate some Doritos today. Thought it would be a bit of a treat. Totally regret it. Bloat and a load of parping!!

Which made me realise how much less I parp these days 😂

soupforbrains · 08/06/2025 03:03

I read everyone’s posts this evening and typed out a whole long response but it would appear I never sent it and I can’t be bothered to type in all out again so I’ll just give highlights haha.

@TryingMJyou look incredible what a difference! Congrats

@Fatmumslim01and others who said they’re not seeing/feeling a difference yet. I think it’s partly psychological we don’t see it in ourselves. Much like the people who see you everyday tend to take longer to notice because they are only incremental changes each time they see you. I’m also not seeing any difference in myself at all. I can feel it though. I’ve been able to fit into clothes I couldn’t before and lots of my trousers are now very loose on the waste. Tragically my very favourite pair are now infuriatingly loose and literally falling down.

to whoever was considering split dosing. I also do this. Though I do it differently from @TheBossOfMewho does the 2/3 first dose and 1/3 4 days later. I do exactly half and half. I inject on Friday mornings and Monday evenings ( so 3.5 days apart)

my weigh in this week.
-2lb
SW: 19st10
CW: 17st6
GW: 11st7

im happy with the 2lb loss. Although it’s not quite the 3lbs I put on last week in our mini break but it’s good progress. I’ve 6 weeks before I go on holiday, I’d love to hit 3 stone loss by then but we’ll see! ( apologies in advance for probably excessive holiday talk in the coming weeks I’m very excited and now that assorted other life events are out of the way I can’t wait!)

Bipaloss · 08/06/2025 09:36

Good morning

weekly weigh in for me week 12 completed

SW 115 kg /18.1 st
CW 101.2 kg / 15.9 st
GW 12 st

loss this week 1.6 kg / 3.5 lb
total loss 13.8 kg / 30 lb

after a 3-4 week plateau I finally had a whosh this week and 7.5 is giving me a good boost . This is normally the week I have a whosh (week after Tom) . Finally hit 2 st loss and into 15’s

now I want to get under 100 kg!

My phone use is off the scale. I'd started reading again but can't seem to concentrate anymore.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 08/06/2025 11:05

I forgot to weigh this morning , and as I've spent half the week doing manage limitation I'm going to leave it til tomorrow.

@soupforbrains where are you off to on holiday?

I'm due to jab today/tomorrow (usually Sunday but was Monday last week) not sure what to do as after lits of food noise it's really settled the last couple of days.

BlackTreaclee · 08/06/2025 11:39

Hi everyone, new to this thread and been trying to navigate MJ on my own. Wondering if anyone can relate/give advice.

So far on my MJ journey, 2.5mg really didn't do anything, it was like I hadn’t injected. Went up to 5mg on my second month, that helped a lot but only seemed to work for 3 days and then the remaining 4 days I was back to constant food noise and overeating. Went up to 7.5mg which worked well but again had the same issue where it didn’t seem to work for days 5, 6 and 7 - so better than the 5mg. I’ve been on 10mg for 2 weeks now and it’s very similar to 2.5mg where I feel completely normal and eating how I was before MJ. It’s extremely difficult for me to just use willpower and I am trying to implement healthy habits, but as most of you can probably relate, I still have constant food noise and even my healthy meals are too big and I feel like I’m on a deprived diet yet again (like the first 30 years of my life!).

Is it a case of me not finding the right dosage yet? I’m frustrated as I feel amazing on the days it does work.

GiveMeWordGames · 08/06/2025 11:55

@BlackTreaclee hello, welcome to the thread and that must be frustrating.

It is known that from the trials Eli Lilly established that the optimum dosing frequency is every 5-6 days but that's a recipe for chaos with people trying to stick to it, so hence 7 days. If you scroll upthread a bit (I think, I hang out on two different threads and get confused) there are people using clicks to split their dose. So if you have a 7.5mg pen, you do 5mg on day one and 2.5 on day five. Or something like that.

If it's not on here it's on the More Than 5 stone to Lose thread. 😁

Oh thank you! That could be an option for me. I’m not really sure what to do with my current 10mg pen as I’ve had 2 jabs now so have half left but I’ve undone all of my weight loss in those two weeks alone. Do you think I could do 7.5mg today and then on Friday 2.5mg and see if that makes any difference? This pen is from a new supplier (Cloud) and it makes me paranoid that it’s not legit even though I know it will be. It’s like I’ve been injecting saline it feels like nothing! How can a higher dose possibly do this?! I’m not scientific at all so can someone make it make sense 😆

@BlackTreaclee I would really hope if they're a properly regulated pharmacy that you've got nothing to worry about there.

It's @soupforbrains and @TheBossOfMe who are doing it, if you look at @soupforbrains post three or four before your first one on this thread. So hopefully they might pop along to help. I do know it doesn't matter that you've taken two full doses so far, you can just split the next two but I've never done this myself so I'd rather someone who knows what they're talking about helps. Broadly speaking 60 clicks is your full dose, so 30 clicks is a half dose, 45 clicks is 3/4 dose etc.
