New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Good morning everyone. Week 9 weigh in for me today. Only lost 0.2 kilos this week and I have ordered a 5mg pen to start next week. I feel like I'm getting greedy again wanting foods but luckily it's still been a struggle to finish them most of the time. I have found though I've overdone it once this week and one day last week and had a little binge which has made me feel so sick by the time I've gone to bed. Like the above poster Im going to use the extra dose in my pen today. I know that 0.6 in the syringe is 2.5mg from a 2.5mg pen but as I want to start 5mg next week I would like to up it slightly does anyone know how much 3 or 3.25 or anything less than 4 will be. I just would like to know how much I'm injecting in case I get side effects . I've screenshot loads of things but don't have this info! I feel like 0.8 might be around 3.75mg .

Yetanotherusername2000 · 22/05/2025 09:54

I defo can’t drink anymore. Took me three days to get over a couple of glasses of fizz on Saturday!

weigh day - lost just under two stone. It’s really interesting, no one has noticed at all, I haven’t told anyone. But a few other people at work are on WLI and everyone talks about it all the time. I guess it’s because it isn’t pointed out?

Fatmumslim01 · 22/05/2025 10:06

Weigh day for me and I've lost 2 pound again like last week so i definitely feel that 5mg is working well for me at the moment. So that's a total of 16 pound in 9 weeks. I feel so close to 10% off which would be 20.4 (so 21) pounds off which is a great milestone so hopefully I'll be there soon!

SW 14-7 BMI 39.6
CW 13-5 BMI 36.5 ♥️
GW 11-7 BMI 31 for now then will review.

Looking back over the last 9 weeks apart from the first 2 weeks which was probably water weight it seems my most weight loss is on 5mg

Wk1 -3 2.5mg
Wk2 -3 2.5mg
Wk3 -2 2.5mg
Wk4 -1 2.5mg
Wk5 -1 2.5mg
Wk6 -1 3.75mg
Wk7 -1 3.75mg
Wk8 -2 5mg
Wk9 -2 5mg

PoundsLost · 22/05/2025 10:06

7.5mg has led to much more suppression so HALLELUJAH and about time. 16lbs down in total since mid March but I did hover at a stone having crawled to it so the last 2lbs is in the last week. Never have I had such a momentous loss in a week on MJ. 🙄

I’m happier than before though. Perhaps 7.5mg upwards will feel less of a mission. I tried on some 14 trousers and they should be ok to wear properly in a week’s time. Minor muffintop currently.

Puddingpiper · 22/05/2025 10:20

@Beinthepresent0.9ml in 3.75 0.8ml is 3.33 0.7ml is 2.9

hope that helps

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 22/05/2025 11:34

Morning all, I've not been on for a few days so just had a quick read. Sorry to see skne are really suffering with SE and hope they clear up soon.

I am pretty sure my snoring has reduced, I use snorelab to track it and it definitely looks less intense and less time snoring.

Sadly my plantar fasciatis is still very problematic which I'm disappointed about.

Saw a 14 on the scales this morning!! Only just, but from a SW of 17st 2 on 16th March, this is amazing!!

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 12:01

Brilliant progress - and it's amazing when you see a new number on the scales, isn't it @Illbefinejustbloodyfine

I counted clicks to inject 5 today - I've noticed suppression is too high on 7.5 as I said, but also that it's been wearing off a bit by day 5. I've been reading a lot about split doses - so was thinking about seeing how this week goes and maybe doing a 2.5mg top up early next week. Maybe. I checked with my prescriber and they said it's absolutely fine to do - although then tried to sell me a 5 pen and a 2.5 pen as well, which is a stupidly expensive route vs just counting clicks from a 7.5 pen.

@Flamethrowers I'm also more concerned with both muscle and skin tone than weight at this point, so definitely aiming for a slow loss to hopefully try and mitigate both. I'm not finding exercise hard per se, but I am definitely a slacker when it comes to lifting heavier weights (should be doing more progressive overload type workouts), so need to up my game on that front. And maxing collagen alongside all the other supplements that I take. I really do rattle 😂

I was talking to a friend at Chelsea yesterday about taking MJ - I've decided I'm not hiding it from anyone now, if it helps other people not feel embarrassed to try it, I'm all for that. She was so supportive, and genuinely interested in hearing about all the little and not so little adjustments that I'm making to my lifestyle along the way, and what I've found easy vs what I've found harder. One thing that cropped up was how much this thread matters to me because the support and encouragement of this wonderful group of people really does make so much difference, especially when losses are slow and scales aren't always our friends. So I just wanted to say thank you to you all - you really do make a difference.

SmallSoupcon · 21/05/2025 14:04

I'm struggling so much. Not sure what to do. I've had chronic diarrhoea and barely eaten in 3 days, just drinking electrolytes and taking Immodium. I also found out my sore throat is tonsillitis so am now taking antibiotics too.

I can see some people found it's helping their adhd. Sadly for me it's the opposite. My mood is really low and I've lost what little motivation I had.

I think the only thing to do now is reduce my dose. I've had 3 x 5mgs and I don't seem to be getting used to it at all.

Oh no you poor thing this sounds awful. I would not jab this week, antibiotics are well known for giving you a dodgy belly anyway never mind already having it from MJ! My antibiotics was useful in this regard this week as I was backed up 😂. I would focus on making sure you are well and then start again from 2.5 xx

Completely agree with you, I love the support this group!

I feel a bit down this week , deffo realise I have hit a plateau and regret not moving straight up to 7.5mg so now thinking on doing 6.25 mg every 5 days (got 105 clicks left of pen) and then move up to 7.5 . Bouncing between 103.8kg and 104.8 the last 2-3 weeks and fullness is completely gone for past week and food noise increasing as well

also have a cold or hayfever or something , last night felt I had a cold this morning feel like it’s hayfever which I’m surprised of as hayfever was completely gone until this week 😩

Fatmumslim01 · 22/05/2025 12:45

@TheBossOfMe I'm debating splitting doses aswell.

5mg is working really well for the last 2 weeks but the food noise and hunger on days 5/6 is coming back with a vengeance! I know it's normal due to the 5 day half life but its really hard. It feels like pre MJ on days 5-6.

So I'm debating doing 2.5mg one day and then maybe on day 4 doing another 2.5 so still 5 altogether but avoiding the peaks and troughs potentially.

Whose your provider that said that was ok for you to do?

needtolose70lb · 22/05/2025 12:51

Posting as much to remind myself of how this journey is going as anything else.

So my last post was very positive and I even gave an example of my usual pattern of loss, gain, maintenance. It might have come across as smug. Oops.

So what happened since then? I've maintained exactly the same weight for 5 days, for the first time on this journey. Very annoying.

It's funny because any other diet that would have tipped me straight in to the fuck it bucket and I would have used that as an excuse to eat and drink whatever i fancied because being 'good' didn't matter.

But i haven't done that. I have made peace with the fact that 3 stone in 3 months didn't happen and just extremely grateful that being within 3lb of that is absolutely insane anyway. I know i have stuck to a deficit and drunk my water and got my steps in so i know i will start going down again at some point.

That in itself is a massive NSV for me.

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 13:01

@Fatmumslim01 I'm currently using Juniper - because my starting BMI was relatively low, I was very constrained on who would actually prescribe, even with a letter from my doctor. It's stupidly expensive from them and I don't really use any of the other bells and whistles that come with the app. But from other threads I've read, it does seem that they're more open to split doses than some providers. I haven't confirmed with them that I'm actually going to do it though because I suspect they'll refuse to sell me the higher dose pens to let me count clicks and insist I use the lower dose ones instead. At some point I'll try to switch providers now that I can prove I've been on MJ a while - just a bit worried that nobody will take me, even with my horrible waist measurement.

Annoyingly I can't find the article where I read this, but the docs that developed MJ figured out that the best dosing schedule is every 6 days, not 7, but they thought people would find it easier to remember a once a week jab rather than an every 6 day one.

@needtolose70lb 3lb is just a rounding error! That's an incredible loss, and brilliant that you haven't let a plateau tip you into fuck it territory.

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 13:06

@Bipaloss I'm bouncing a bit as well - if I look at my daily weight, I'm actually only 0.7lb lighter than I was exactly 3 weeks ago, that gain week over the last Bank Holiday punched a bit of a hole in the overall losses, and overall I had two gain weeks in the first 10 weeks. But the overall trend is still downwards, and if I'm careful over this weekend (I'm at home so should be a lot better than the last one), I should be ok. It's slow progress though, just got to keep believing and stay motivated.

TryForSpring · 22/05/2025 13:24

Oh! No GI side effects up until now, but today I feel a kind of nausea it's hard to ignore, wobbly, and have diarrhoea. I've been microdosing and have just reached 2.5mg per week, in split doses. I've retreated to bed. Utter respect for those who have had bad GI SE and powered through.

5'7
SW: 16 stone
CW: 14 st 4lb
But I lost 7lb of that prior to March.

Have been referred to another hospital for my minor surgery so that's OK.

soupforbrains · 22/05/2025 13:28

I’ve been all over the place this week. With my concussion I’ve felt lightheaded at times and I’ve not been certain that it wasn’t low blood sugar so then I’ve eaten more. But now I’m aware that it was the concussion. So I’ve eaten unnecessarily and so don’t think I’m losing this week. Which I suppose is not the worst outcome of my head banging session. 🤦‍♀️

but it’s sort of disappointing in the sense that it would have been nice to see a loss to keep the ball rolling in a week where I’ve been feeling like crap if you know what I mean.

TryForSpring · 22/05/2025 13:32

That sounds so miserable, @SmallSoupcon. You might find these helpful, especially now that you're on antibiotics.

I have a NSV: three people today told me I looked thin! Not thinner. Thin! I am baffled by this as I am just half a stone under overweight and my poor bottom half can comfortably fit into a 14. Baffling.
however I think my self image is definitely lagging behind my weight loss.

Barely Uncomfortably fit - not comfortably!

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 14:52

@Flamethrowers Brain definitely takes a while to catch up! I just saw some photos of me taken at the show yesterday and I didn't recognise myself!

Jabbed this morning and back to freezing again. It's a minor side effect compared to most, but it's extremely annoying. My colleagues are taking the piss out of me for working with my jacket on. And its not even a thin summer one, its a light down one!

Has anyone got the nexplanon contraceptive implant in? I do and have just read that the implant can reduce the effectiveness of mounjaro. I’m a slow loser despite doing everything right. Only lost 9.5kg in almost 11weeks.

That’s a great loss , I’ve only lost 1-2 kg more than you at same amount of weeks so keep going you doing great

I’m not on nexplanon now but was when I was 20 . I gained 20kg first year on it and another 20kg the year after , during a routine checkup at age of 22 my BP was high as a heart attack and the gp removed the nexplanon miserly during the appointment. My BP went down to normal levels within a month and a year later I was 50 kg less!!!! The first 20-25 fell off without doing anything different within 3 months and the other by diet and excersize never taken a contraceptive since! Just mentioning in case you gained a lot with after implant it’s worth looking into

Thank you for your reply, Yes, i have gained a lot of weight since i started using the implant 13yrs ago, everytime i mentioned it tho, i was made to feel like it was all in my head. Will be having it out for good when it needs replacing next year.

That's actually a slightly above average weight loss (and a healthy rate!)

RuthEvershedforPM · 22/05/2025 19:22

NSV today as a colleague I hadn’t seen for a month noticed… as I did see her a month ago when I’d lost the first few kg it reminded me of the kitchen roll theory - so that’s another boost - as the next few kg come off I should feel better and better ❤️

And yes @TheBossOfMe to the cold - even in this lovely weather I have a hot water bottle at my desk 😂

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 20:06

@northernlight20 That's a really good steady weight loss. It can be a bit disheartening when you read about whooshes and huge losses in a week, but I think we all have to understand that our bodies will respond differently, and it's the overall trend that matters. Well done!

@Bipaloss Wow, that's an cautionary tale about implants. But amazing that you managed to lose the weight.

@RuthEvershedforPM I'm trying to tell myself that it's because I'm losing my very ample layers of body fat insulation and I'll adjust over time 😂

Definitely feeling much better dialling back down to 5 today - by this time in the day after 7.5 last week I was feeling really over-supressed even before dinner. I really dislike that feeling because it stops me enjoying what I'm eating, and I want that to remain in place, makes me not want to eat at all, which is also not what I want, and most crucially, makes me feel like I felt pre MJ when I pigged out on large portions sizes. I don't want to get into mimicking that feeling via MJ, I want to learn to recognise when I feel like I've had enough, IYKWIM. Over time I might need to go up again, but 5 feels right for now.

This definitely isn't the easy cheat that some people say it is, I'm paying way more attention to how my body is feeling and responding to food than I did pre MJ. It takes work, and a lot of changes in habit. It's just a tool in the toolbox.
