New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

@northernlight20 That's a really good steady weight loss. It can be a bit disheartening when you read about whooshes and huge losses in a week, but I think we all have to understand that our bodies will respond differently, and it's the overall trend that matters. Well done!

@Bipaloss Wow, that's an cautionary tale about implants. But amazing that you managed to lose the weight.

@RuthEvershedforPM I'm trying to tell myself that it's because I'm losing my very ample layers of body fat insulation and I'll adjust over time 😂

Definitely feeling much better dialling back down to 5 today - by this time in the day after 7.5 last week I was feeling really over-supressed even before dinner. I really dislike that feeling because it stops me enjoying what I'm eating, and I want that to remain in place, makes me not want to eat at all, which is also not what I want, and most crucially, makes me feel like I felt pre MJ when I pigged out on large portions sizes. I don't want to get into mimicking that feeling via MJ, I want to learn to recognise when I feel like I've had enough, IYKWIM. Over time I might need to go up again, but 5 feels right for now.

This definitely isn't the easy cheat that some people say it is, I'm paying way more attention to how my body is feeling and responding to food than I did pre MJ. It takes work, and a lot of changes in habit. It's just a tool in the toolbox.

haha yes I was young and also into running at the time (did live in warmer climate which helped) managed to hold it off until I got married 🤦‍♀️ to be honest I was living a nomad life between age of 21 and 27 (holiday rep and then tour guide for 2 years) and settled in one place when I got married. however between the kids maintained around 10kg above the lowest until Covid , I work from home since 80% and don’t want to blame it but has contributed especially as the other 20% includes travel client meals etc not great combo

MJ has brought me dejavu from the time I lost a lot and when the hunger is there or want to grab a snack I remind myself , do I need this or can it wait. I know how to do it but not as easy as when younger (I’m 40 now) and MJ is deffo giving it a boost

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 20:25

@Fatmumslim01 @Paulahoust @TheBossOfMe thank you for pandering to my stupidity this morning with doses- I had obvs not woken up properly 😂 I had 0.25ml which is just over 2mg. 🤦‍♀️

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 20:34

@ShineyGreen 😂Easily done!

popdepop · 22/05/2025 20:55

Hi all, I really need to catch up on the thread, but just popped on to ask a question.
I'm on my third pen and take my 2nd 7.5mg dose tomorrow. All mainly ok.
Question- the last 2 days I've had some spotting. I have the coil fitted and no periods for around 3 years. I'm either peri or post menopausal. I.dont know.
Can MJ affect hormones? anyone else had this? anything I need to do?

TryForSpring · 22/05/2025 20:58

Yes, @popdepop, Mounjaro definitely affects period for some women, including those who are post-menopause. I'll try to find you a link. I'm way past menopause, but I'm now getting mild period pain and premenstrual type symptoms.

Hit the two stone mark. Hooray. In 11 weeks. Feel so different. 3ish to go

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 00:01

I don’t get the fullness either @Kaybee50 (welcome to this lovely thread- everyone is so supportive here, it’s fab!)

Do you find it suppresses your appetite otherwise/You are content with smaller portions?

Lovely to be here - thank you

yes I can manage smaller portions and don’t feel hungry - but I never feel full! I’m sure I would easily manage large portions without a struggle! Maybe I’ll think of going up to 7.5 in a few weeks.

Congratulations and well done! In slight envy as I have 2lb roughly to get there which dosnt want to shift but hopefully will join you in the milestone soon (I have around 4st more after that, and also in w11)

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 21:05

@popdepop similar here! I have mirena coil and use estrogen patches, no period since Jan last year so no idea whether I am peri or post, and on Tuesday I started bleeding! So unexpected. I didn’t know that MJ impacted hormones in this way so thank you for linking the two together and asking.

(also explains why, for a few days a fortnight ago, I was randy as fuck and thought I looked like gods gift. I was ovulating 😂)

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 21:07

Brilliant @Spondoolie 👏👏👏👏

I wish I had that issue haha.. not felt like that in forever and no partner so...
Ok so seems it can happen! I wonder if we need to do anything or if it will go away? any cause for concern?

I had a random short period of bleeding (lasted 2 days) that arrived only 2 weeks after my last period. Also had awful cramps every period I’ve had since starting MJ - much worse than normal. Deffo affects hormones!

1 TOM one week after jab one arrived as scheduled but omg the cramps
2 TOM 5 days early (I have been on schedule every since first TOM) again super crampy
3 TOM 3 days early no cramps but super emotional
4 TOM will arrive in the next few days super pre menstrual tired bloated you name it all is there

TMI but I’m more up for it and more moisture since starting MJ

100% changes hormone level but I think for the positive

there is some research into MJ making bodies younger physically and may be it’s something with that

I’m not sure I’ve been more ‘up for it’ with DH, but I have had some rather raunchy dreams 🫣🤫

Oh yes forgot about that my teenage dreams are back 🤣🤣🤣 may be that’s why I stopped snoring and sleep better lol (joking aside it has only happened a few times but woke up in the sense ooooo 🫣)

TheBossOfMe · 22/05/2025 21:25

Probably TMI but DP is exhausted 😂

Benefit of MJ for us, both and maybe sometimes not for them 😆

@popdepop single here too so the postman has started to look like I might want him to deliver more than one type of package. Poor bloke is scared I think.

Lolliz87 · 22/05/2025 21:52

Haha you’ve all got me in stitches over your randiness 😂😂😂

Lolliz87 · 22/05/2025 22:28

Totally howling over this 😂

soupforbrains · 22/05/2025 22:56

MJ hasnt affected my periods much. It hasn’t changed my cycle length but my periods themselves are shorter if that makes sense. So if I always get my period on the 5th I’m still starting my period on the 5th but instead of lasting until the 12th it’s only lasting until the 9th.

im single so I’m not too terribly upset that I’ve not had any affect on my libido. Probably for the best as I’m highly sexed at the best of times and as I mentioned single so I’d probably have turned into Bonnie blue or whatever that woman’s name is if it had!

TryingMJ · 23/05/2025 06:51

Morning all,

Weigh in 12 this morning

Starting weight (Fri 28th Feb)- 13 stone 6.5lbs

Current weight (Fri 23rd May)- 10 stone 9.8lbs

Loss this week 3.2lbs

Total loss- 2 stone 10.7lbs (or 38.7lbs).

Height- 5 feet 5 inches. Starting BMI 31.3 (obese), current BMI 24.8 (healthy!).

Target weight weight- 10 stone (9.8lbs to go).
Well, real target- lose as much as I can, under 10 stone would be great! Especially as going on a three week big family holiday in the summer so getting a bit under target gives wiggle room!

popdepop · 23/05/2025 06:56

Weight in 10, 7.5 mg
SW 21.3.25 16 stone 11
CW 23.5.25 14 stone 10
TW initially 11 stone

loss 29 pounds

Happy with that. It has slowed, however 2 pounds off this week. Have a great day all.
