New thread for all of us.
Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

Some of us are now hitting the 12 week mark, some of us are nearly at their goal, some halfway and some still have a way to go, but we are all losing even if it’s half a pound a week. We have all come so far and are making a difference to our health.

Sorry that I have not been on here much yesterday, I am up to my eyeballs in wedding preparations. I will tell everyone just go off and get married, which I did!

I had the final fitting of my dress last night it had to be taken in although it’s a size 18 (designer) it’s only got a waist of 34inch and hips 36inch.

I will post a photo of me in it under a different user name on Saturday! It was not a dress I thought I would wear as it’s got no back on it!

Got on the scales this morning which I do everyday and I am 4lbs down but I did have a couple of glasses of wine yesterday so that could go up.

@TheSpoonyNavyReader very impressed by your measurements!

Morning all haven't been on for a few days.

I'm really enjoying 5mg this is my second week of it. No nausea and I just feel even more stable and calm in my head than I did on 2.5mg. 3.75 was a waste of time I think just made me so nauseous 😂

today and tomorrow are the final 48 hours before jab day and usually I'm counting down the hours until Jab day but so far on 5mg it seems to be lasting longer and I don't get the day 6 and 7 munchies, although my hunger is slightly increased its not as bad as it was on 2.5mg. I'm trying to distract myself from snacking which is always harder on days off but so far so good. Good preparation for eventual maintenance aswell.

I had a sneaky weigh yesterday but it was after lunch but it still said I'd lost a pound so hopefully on my official weigh in tomorrow it will be good news 2 pound would be amazing but I'd be happy with 1 pound.

Golden dose on Fri with my 5mg which will be the third dose of 5mg then I've got another 5mg pen ready in th fridge. I need to order my next one as I like to have one in use and one spare but I don't know what dose to order. Currently really happy in 5mg but in another 5 weeks when my next pen runs out will I still be??

Aboutmeabouttime · 21/05/2025 12:51

@FlamethrowersI am trying to switch to Ousk and want a 2.5mg… could they not provide it to you? I don’t need it immediately so chose a date in advance so maybe it will be ok…

Edited

I order mine around 10 days until it’s needed so you can either wait a bit, or like me I did a 7.5 pen and did 40 klicks (5mg) , 45 klicks (just under 6mg) and 50 klicks this week (6,25) . I have 105 klicks left on pen -2 doses . I did this because 5 mg pen worked really well but was worried a second pen would loose effect (2.5 only worked 2 weeks for me) and could up doses if needed or spread it out in 5 doses instead of 4. My next pen will also be 7.5 but 4 full doses

SmallSoupcon · 21/05/2025 14:04

I'm struggling so much. Not sure what to do. I've had chronic diarrhoea and barely eaten in 3 days, just drinking electrolytes and taking Immodium. I also found out my sore throat is tonsillitis so am now taking antibiotics too.

I can see some people found it's helping their adhd. Sadly for me it's the opposite. My mood is really low and I've lost what little motivation I had.

I think the only thing to do now is reduce my dose. I've had 3 x 5mgs and I don't seem to be getting used to it at all.

soupforbrains · 21/05/2025 15:11

@SmallSoupconim so sorry you’re having such a rough time.

low mood is a known side effect. I don’t think thats playing specifically on your ADHD but it sucks either way.

I can recommend titrating. Take a step down on your dose and see how you feel. Then when you think you’re ready to move up again, I suggest going up gradually.

Hope you feel better soon.

@SmallSoupcon poor you. Why not stop till you're feeling stable and restart on 2.5. Weight loss is not worth wrecking your body over particularly if you're also ill. concentrate on broths and chicken soup and bananas and rice and avoid any diary or oil and just rest. I'm still taking electrolytes even though the diarrhea has dialled right back. Like you my motivation has gone - I agree with the PP that low mood and depression is a known side effect. Look after yourself and give yourself a break.

TryForSpring · 21/05/2025 15:34

Well, I've just been told that my planned minor surgery under general anaesthetic cannot go ahead at a 'peripheral' hospital as I'm on Mounjaro. New guidance issued on Monday. Would be fine at a hospital with an A&E/nearer to an A&E.

The interesting thing is that they cannot give an amount of time I would need to be off Mounjaro before surgery, as according to the nurse I spoke to, they don't know how long the effects persist to still be an issue.

Flamethrowers · 21/05/2025 16:48

@TryForSpring. How annoying for you! Will they refer to you a hospital with an A and E? Otherwise what are you meant to do? I googled and its to do with with delayed gastric emptying and the risk of the gloop in your stomach going into your lungs during a GA).

Yellowsubmarine55 · 21/05/2025 17:05

Checking in...

@SmallSoupcon sorry you are suffering. A couple of weeks back I was poorly with liquid 💩 and generally feeling pretty shite. I should have cut the middle man out and just chucked glasses of water down the loo it was that bad. I hardly ate food for 3/4 days. What I found helped was rehydration sachets like diarylite multiple times a day as my wee was dark brown 😳

I also took psyllium husk with a probiotic in it on day 4 and overnight I was a changed person. Keep to a bland diet, dry toast, rice, bananas etc and just take it easy. Weight loss can wait as you are important too.

As for me, I'm feeling a bit blah, no loss last week but I half expected it after the issues I had recently. Jabbed yesterday (week 8) and feel starving today so ho hum using that will power a lot. Still on 2.5 and just hoping it's a blip and weight will start coming off again.

I've so much to lose that I'm just taking it as it comes and as long as scales go down I'm sticking with it as to be honest I'm reluctant to go up as I'm just a wimp re side effects really 😁.

GameOfJones · 21/05/2025 17:23

End of week 11 weigh in and another 1lb lost so I am officially 3 stone lighter than I was last summer and almost 2 stone lost while on Mounjaro. I can't believe it, it feels like a big milestone as I checked my NHS app last night and I'm the lowest weight I've been since I got married 10 years ago.

I'm staying on 5mg as it feels like the best balance for me and no side effects. I'll be on holiday next week though so definitely need to be conscious of what I'm eating and drinking.

Sorry to everyone having a tough time with side effects and I hope you can get another referral to a hospital with an A&E department @TryForSpring

TheBossOfMe · 21/05/2025 21:21

@SmallSoupcon - I think @Flamethrowers advice is probably right. Low mood is absolutely a known SE - and I've noticed a distinct lack of work/life motivation over the last couple of weeks since I went up to 7.5, which is another reason that I'm going to go back to a lower dose. Hoping you get through this - we're all here to support you whenever you need it. That's what's so amazing about this thread.

@Yellowsubmarine55 You're not a wimp at all, you're listening to your body and doing what's right for it.

@GameOfJones Brilliant weight loss, that's a HUGE milestone!

Went to Chelsea Flower Show today. Ate too much and drank too much. I don't think the scales will be that kind to me over the next couple of days - but it's one of my favourite days of the year and pragmatically I need to learn that overindulge days are OK, don't beat yourself up about them and then spiral into overeating as a result. Back on my game tomorrow. With less champagne and ice cream.

Kaybee50 · 21/05/2025 22:21

hoping for a bit of advice 🙂
I started on Mounjaro at the beginning of March - I’ve lost about 1 stone 4 pounds so far so it’s been slow - but I’m menopausal and it just doesn’t fall off like it used to!
I’m now on 5mg. I’ve been lucky in that I’ve not had many side effects and I feel pretty good on it. It’s helped with food noise and being generally not hungry - but I can still eat normal size portions and wouldn’t struggle to finish a meal! I’ve cut down significantly and try not to go over 1400 Cals a day so definitely in deficit. I’m trying to be more active and move much more as I have a full time desk job.
I was hoping to stay on 5mg for as long as possible but am I more likely to experience fullness on a higher dose?

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 00:01

I don’t get the fullness either @Kaybee50 (welcome to this lovely thread- everyone is so supportive here, it’s fab!)

Do you find it suppresses your appetite otherwise/You are content with smaller portions?

yikesanotherbooboo · 22/05/2025 06:38

@Kaybee50
i didn’t feel any fullness before 7.5 mg .I now do for the first half of the week but am back to normal at the weekend .

Spondoolie · 22/05/2025 07:05

Week 11 here and 2 stone down. Well, hovering around that point.

Been on 7.5 for four weeks now and it knocks me for six the first couple of days.

I started the same time as you and have lost almost the same, 1st 6lb as of this morning. I have gone up to 7.5mg and have noticed a difference: I feel hungry, I want to eat healthy fresh foods but I’m satisfied more quickly meaning it’s easy to manage my portion sizes. I don’t calorie count, I did and then I found I didn’t need to anymore as I was making healthy choices and eating small portions and losing weight.

Maybe you need to go up a dose, though you are doing amazingly well on 5mg.

Flamethrowers · 22/05/2025 07:56

I am now at a BMI of 24.4 and have lost 22 pounds over nearly 12 weeks. I'm on 2.5. My guru - chat gpt - is advising me to hover at this weight and continue high protein and strength training for a month to solidify gains before going to the last half stone (which is my goal of 23 BMI). Thinking about it. I'm more inclined to slow to half a pound a week weight loss and incrementally move down to my goal weight now. Tbh at this stage I think I'm more concerned with tone than weight.

ShineyGreen · 22/05/2025 08:11

Can someone point me to a golden dose calculator? I’m using up the last bit of my 5mg pen and have taken 2.5ml out. I can’t find the bloody chart- what dose is that?!

@ShineyGreen A single dose is 0.6ml so 2.5ml can't be right, I don't think?

I feel rough as fuck after day drinking champagne at Chelsea yesterday - lovely day out, really enjoyed seeing all the beautiful gardens and flowers, but I really can't day drink anymore 😂

However, my weight seems to have held steady in spite of the overindulgence (lovely lunch beforehand, ice cream alongside the champagne in the grounds, and then dinner afterwards), probably because I walked absolutely miles so burned through the calories ok.

But - I feel horribly overfull this morning. I might need to up the psyllium husk because I just feel all a bit backed up, it's not a nice feeling at all, it's actually making me feel a little sick. I'm definitely going to reduce dose back down to 5 now, 7.5 is too much for me. My next pen will arrive next week and is a 10, which is fine, I'll just count clicks and make it last a bit longer.
