Thought I'd kick start a new thread for this oh so supportive little group, as the last thread was reaching it's limit.

I’ve not had that happen before. What type of syringe and needle do I need to extract the dose if it does happen? Do you just stick the needle in the end bit of the pen?

Hi. Please can I join? In the thread I've been on for the last few months people are starting to hit goal weights and although I'm relatively pleased with the 2 stones I've lost I still have 6 to go! Feeling pretty sorry for myself and not as motivated as I have been which is not helping with the self loathing!

This why this thread is so good as everyone is in it for the long haul, and even those who have lost weight know what it's like to have so much to lose.

I imagine that most who would have been in my starting month thread will be at target by now as its nearly 10 months later.

It's my jab day today, I usually do it just before bed so I slept through any side effects!

I’ve read people just using a plier to hold the end in place and turn it that way. I haven’t tried it but might give it a go on my new pen

AlicesMum2025 · 10/05/2025 20:56

I just started a thread about the extra dose in the pens called 'tell me more about the golden dose' @Potato1234 @Kay2000

But don't call it the golden dose though, apparently that's a no-no 🤷‍♀️

Potato1234 · 10/05/2025 21:19

@AlicesMum2025 why not? Thanks I’ll have a look

It does. Thank you for responding without sass

TragicMuse · 10/05/2025 23:44

Have you self-injected with a syringe before @AlicesMum2025?

I had to do blood thinners a few years ago so I did have previous experience. If you haven’t done it before, make sure you keep the needle straight, otherwise it might sting.

A YouTube video of how to safely use a syringe might help.

Onenotsosmallstep · 11/05/2025 08:56

Morning all. I wanted to share some positive side effects and a ‘NSV’. As of the end of week 7 yesterday I am now 24lbs down and the scales start with a 22. Not many people would see that as a good thing but know this group understands how good it feels breaking each stone barrier.

What I wanted to share- and ask others about is your experiences of feeling less achy/having more energy. For the last couple of years I’ve found my back/legs/feet really achy especially if stood up for too long. I don’t know if it’s somehow reduced inflammation but this seems to have rapidly reduced when waking up in the morning or going for a walk.

Yesterday I went ‘daytime clubbing’. I don’t know if anyone has seen them advertised but it’s essentially a nightclub that runs 4-9pm mostly full of women in their 40s and 50s dancing and having a great time. Well there were no seats and I didn’t care, danced for hours! My step count was through the roof and I can feel it all over today but it’s something that 2 months ago I wouldn’t have been able to do. It’s really got me thinking about all the things I’ve missed out on through my weight but more importantly all the things I can now look forward to! We’ve got Oasis tickets in July and I’ve been worried how I’ll cope on my feet all day. That fear is starting to go. Have a great sunny Sunday everyone

Motnight · 11/05/2025 09:30

Good morning everyone. Managed to lose a lb this week. But great NSV yesterday. It was quite hot and I was outside walking and it was fine. None of my previous feeling uncomfortable and sweaty. I also tried out some garden chairs in b and Q and didn't worry about breaking them 😬

@Onenotsosmallstep definitely feel less achy and stiff I'm general. You are doing so well with your weight loss!

@alwayshavebeenfemale completely understand how you feel and echo @Lds1. I got ridiculously upset at one poster on another thread (all my issue, not her's) saying that she couldn't believe that she'd even been able to walk when she weighed 17 stone as it was so huge. At the time I weighed more and was really pleased with my weight loss and it just burst my bubble. Absolutely not anyone's fault but my own.

Am sitting in my garden contemplating some weeding, again something I couldn't do a year ago in hot weather.

@AlicesMum2025 in general I personally wouldn't ask for any information re wli by starting a new thread. Some of the responses really scare me 😂. Either the ignorance or the anger that people seem to have when it comes to wli

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 11/05/2025 09:51

Great NSVs folks! I am struggling a bit with a plateau, have so much to lose and having lost 40ish lbs between the start of September and Christmas I’ve only lost 7lbs so far in 2025! It’s really starting to get me down, I have gone up to 10mg but I’m just not losing like I used to, although I think my clothes size is still shrinking so that’s something. What do people use to track calories? I think I am going to have to keep a closer eye on mine, haven’t been keeping check on them but it feels hard to imagine that I’m anywhere close to my TDEE of 2700 calories.

On the upside, I was thinking this morning about the warm weather and how much I’m enjoying it. It’s not normally my comfort zone at all but I have really enjoyed the sunshine and the heat when previously temperatures of 20 plus were quite unpleasant. I’m still very large by any definition so it’s not that I’m feeling the physical benefits of feeling smaller, I think it’s just the upside of the side effects I struggled with feeling freezing cold all winter! 24 this week and I’m not at all bothered at the thought of commuting to the office which is very strange for me. I wonder if this is what it feels like to be normal 🤣

TragicMuse · 11/05/2025 09:57

Good morning!

I’ve been feeling a bit constipated till this morning. A different kind of whoosh later and I feel quite light and bouncy!!

I’m also having a weird clothes/inches thing - part NSV, part not.

My cut-down jeans are saggy again. I took them in before I went away, 2 weeks ago, now they’re falling off again. BUT, according to my tape measure I haven’t lost any more inches. 🤔🤷‍♀️

So now I don’t know what’s going on!! I normally just eyeball it when I do something like this on taking-in a waist. Think I might have to actually measure this time!!

And I can’t find my other cut-downs. So I’ll have to buy some second hand jeans and chop them. It’s the only way to get the length I like!! (Not shorts, not bermudas, not ankle-crops! I’m a picky mare!!)

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 11/05/2025 10:05

@Onenotsosmallstep you're doing so well! Keep plugging away. It's wonderful that your scales now start with a 22!

eibbed999 · 11/05/2025 10:08

That's wonderful to read @Onenotsosmallstep - I can feel your hope and newfound energy from here! Amazing isn't it? 7 or 8 weeks in is usually when I start to flag on diets, but I feel nothing but positive about this. Yes, we've missed out - but we don't have to carry on doing that. Though I do wonder sometimes what I'll do with all the spare head space once I'm not obsessing about my body weight!

Onenotsosmallstep · 11/05/2025 10:15

So much positivity this morning. Love this little safe space. Well done to us all.

Doggymummar · 11/05/2025 10:44

Some lovely stories recently. Here's mine. Just applied the first fake tan of the year and it took maybe 10 minutes and so much less product. I used to allow an hour to carefully lift the spare tyres and needed my bf to do my back. I could reach all the way around by myself. Now I just got to wait six hours before I can wash off the top coat and see the results, but I've got nowhere to go.

CosmicCuppa · 11/05/2025 11:02

Good morning.

I’m down another pound and a half pound since my last weigh in so now I’m 2 pounds off the next scale bracket. Officially lost 13lb on Mounjaro since 17th April which I’m blown away by.

Just taken my first 5mg jab so let’s see how that goes as I’ve got a roast planned for lunch.

TragicMuse · 11/05/2025 11:04

Ooh, that reminds me, @Onenotsosmallstep, I must put some fake tan on my legs!! And shave them!

Was it Day Fever? It’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a while! Get home and ready for bed by 10pm, ideal

Week 13
SW: 132,5 kg (BMI 44,8)
CW: 119,2 kg (BMI 40,3)

I'm really happy about several mini goals I have reached this week:
No. 1: I've lost 10% of my starting weight.
No. 2: I've started a walking program and have been following it religiously for 3 weeks now.
No. 3: I unboxed my summer clothes and I can easily wear so many pieces which didn't fit me for the last 2 summers. In exchange I put my winter clothes in storage with the intention of never wearing them again as hopefully they will be too large by next autumn/winter.

Next mini goal: Lose 1,2 kg as 118 kg (BMI 39.9) will finally take me out of obesity stage 3.

alwayshavebeenfemale · 11/05/2025 12:01

Crikey this thread is amazing. So positive and everyone is doing so well! Thanks for having me ❤️
