Thought I'd kick start a new thread for this oh so supportive little group, as the last thread was reaching it's limit.

What time do people do their jab? I'm thinking just before bed would suit me best, but are there pros or cons to am/pm?

Toddlerteaplease · 19/05/2025 23:10

My friend was telling me how pleased he was I was staring this. I said I wasn’t sure hoe long I would be able to afford it for. He thinks it’s not expensive. For him maybe. But I although I’m comfortably off it’s still a lot of money!!

It's never made any difference to me, when I inject the MJ.

I've had very few side-effects, regardless of the dosage.

PinkArt · 20/05/2025 00:47

You'll probably find you're making savings that offset a decent amount of the prescription cost @Toddlerteaplease .
It's costing me roughly £30/week but I'm not buying chocolate in industrial quantities, I do still deliveroo sometimes but a meal stretches to more leftovers, I'm often skipping breakfast - all money back in my pocket. Plus it's settled my IBS so I no longer get through loperamide at the pace I used to!

BagQueenBee · 20/05/2025 01:35

I usually do my jab Friday around 1pm….never feel any negative effects, and thankfully have good weeklong suppression.

Doggymummar · 20/05/2025 07:53

Wednesday lunchtime time if I remember or as soon as I remember after that. I don't notice any difference

TragicMuse · 20/05/2025 09:11

I don’t know if it’s getting used to the medication, timing or what, but when I jabbed on a Friday or Saturday morning I got quite a lot of nausea.

Now I do it on Wednesday evening and seem to avoid any nausea!

I do mine on a Sunday morning. I’m finding 5mg tougher on the side effects and they don’t go away until around Wednesday but whatever day I jab it’s going to be like this until my body gets used to it. From Wednesday I’m fine though and have excellent suppression all the way to the next jab.

A most victorious of NSV!

I realised this morning that my stomach no longer sticks out further than my boobs!!

Absolutely and completely encouraging!

Everything is relative to individual circumstances.

Saturday mornings…mostly because it’s the only time I get any peace to myself 🤣

mamabeeboo · 20/05/2025 10:44

Hi all, back from the holiday. 2 meals a day and diet mixers in all alcohol but there's only so much I can do when on holiday. I also indulged on a lovely portion of very salty chips and a KFC 😅 All restaurant/takeaway food as well, so I missed my home cooking/air fryer and small portions.

I've jumped on the scales this morning and 3kg gained 🙄 I know the majority of this is water weight/salt/inflammation, so I'm only going to record my weight on Thursday and give it a few days to settle down.

The step count on holiday was pretty crazy. 20kg ago I wouldn't have been able to do this, so I have to share.

On a side note, we put our luggage to be weighed and my extremely heavy bag that I could barely carry was 17kg - and I gasped and was thinking ALL THAT WEIGHT I was carrying around every single day. When the weight is tangible in front of me, it was an eye opener.

mamabeeboo · 20/05/2025 10:44

and the step count!

Agghhhhh

Onwards and upwards

This is the only place I think this particular achievement will make sense, but I am finally just obese. Not morbidly obese, not class 2 obese, just regular, entry level obese.
Overweight is a couple of stone off still but doesn't feel wildly unachievable like it once did.

WafflingDreamer · 20/05/2025 11:45

NSV I took my kids to Wembley on Sunday for the Women's FA cup final, we were super high up. I managed to fit in a cramped train and tube seats with no issues, walk down so many flights of stairs and sat in the seat at Wembley without worrying I'd be imposing on the person next to me and did lots of walking. It was such a great day and I realised that losing nearly 5st has totally changed my life. Roll on the next 5!!!

Congrats on a weird kind of way! I'm also in this category now and I'm feeling the same, I'm 9.4kg / 1 stone, 6 lb and 11.58 oz from being overweight.

This feels achievable, healthy BMI still seems far away, however I don't actually know what I'm aiming for as I've never been a healthy weight so don't know what I'll look like as I weighed less.

We are such skinny bitches!
I was talking to someone about this the other day - how different goal weights are depending on your own personal weight history. I'm aiming for 11st 4 ideally, but 11 anything would see me at the top end of healthy/ low end of overweight.
11 something is my 'fat weight' from my 20s and also felt great when I got down to it in my 30s.
10 something would be incredible but I'm very realistic that a healthy weight at 25 is not going to be the same as a healthy weight at 45.
The lower end of a healthy BMI for my height is a weight I've not seen since puberty and the arrival of hips, so that's never going to happen!
I know what those weights feel and look like on me from past experience though and if I hadn't lived it then I'd be struggling to know what to aim for.

TragicMuse · 20/05/2025 12:54

Great achievements!

I was looking at pictures of a 5’ 7” woman at the lower end of the BMI for my height and I cannot see myself at that. I’ve never been that weight was an adult. And the pictures are all of women who look dangerously skinny. Or are tiny-framed Asian ladies. And they’re all really young. So I’m not currently aiming for that!

Otoh, my Upper limit is 10st 13lbs and I can kinda imagine that. I’ve been within a stone or two before now.

Billybingbong · 20/05/2025 12:55

I remember many many moons ago when I had just met my now DH, we did a tourist hot air balloon trip, and had to provide our weights. I was so embarrassed telling them I was 10 1/2 stone!! He didn't bat an eyelid, but I felt so ashamed I was 'so heavy'. Oh how I wish were that weight these days!!

Iwouldratherbesinging · 20/05/2025 13:00

Well done on that step count @mamabeeboo! And it really is an eye opener when lifting that luggage, hope you had a good holiday.

congrats on your normal obesity @PinkArt, that’s not a line I thought I would ever say to anyone 😂. I’m 0.4 points away from hitting class one!

@WafflingDreamer isn't it just wonderful when we can go about our normal lives without worrying about who we are going to impose upon, whether we fit, who’ll be staring….

TragicMuse · 20/05/2025 13:12

I’ve just looked at the BMI charts. I am also normally obese not morbidly/severely!!

Tuesday weigh in for me - 1lb off this week which puts me at 14st 5.6 lbs.
my next goal is set at 13 and a half stone, I’d set that a couple of months ago and am tempted to change it to 12 stone but I like seeing the 83% goal progress so I think I’ll leave it for another couple of weeks. I have no idea what I’ll look like at 12 stone let alone the ultimate goal of 10 stone ish. The app I use to record weight has just updated itself to include bmi weight ranges, I imagine I’ll be trying to turn that off soon!

I also took new measurements today
starting bust - 56 inches. Today - 45.5 inches
starting waist - 46 inches. Today - 39 inches
starting hips/tummy - 58 inches. Today 49 inches

unlike @TragicMuse my stomach is still bigger than my boobs!

Welcome to the weird achievers club!
This one felt good because it's a reminder of the health benefits of all of this. I do enjoy fitting smaller sizes and seeing less chin, but a reminder that each pound of is improving my/ our health is a great thing.

SeaStoat · 20/05/2025 13:23

Fab NSVs, you lovely lot..

@Toddlerteaplease I reckon I save as much as it costs me on lower supermarket bills at home and less coffee and food when out and about or travelling. I'm on £99 pm for a year with SheMed so lower cost than some others.

I've kept my budget under control by shopping on Vinted for sizes down in specific SimplyBe Kim jeans (a style I'm already wearing - very satisfactory going down the sizes in the same stye) and had a small splurge on on 2 size 20-22s Lands End vest tops and 2 fleeces. The 24-26 fleeces are too big and the 20-22s fleeces are a bit too snug around the tummy - so I'm wearing both sizes. I'll take in my vest tops in a couple of weeks, but I'm not sure about the mechanics of making the two 24-26 fleeces smaller on my sewing machine. I'll probaby donate them to the hospice shop when the 20-22s fit with a bit of ease.

It's been 3 months today. I wish I'd started 3 weeks or 3 months earlier. I was so anxious.

I'm down 2.2lbs this week after STS last week - 277.4lbs. 32.4lbs shed in 3 months and firmly (at last) into the teens at 19 stone 11.4lbs. I'd hope to shed over a stone a month instead of 2 stone 4.4lbs. However 3 months on Mounjaro is so much less stressful & hungry than a vlcd and less obsessive than counting points or/sins, and splurging points/syns on unhealthy stff cos it was in the "budget". I don't calorie count - just prioritise protein and eat when hungry. That means I break my fast sometime between 10.30am and 1.30pm most days.

Doing the injections is now routine. It doesn't make a difference to me what time of day I inject.

My new pen is 7.5mg - so it'll be interesting if I get side effects. I still occassionally get loose bowels and/or need gaviscon. Dealing with the runs, which don't seem to be food related is just a price to pay. I've been constiptaed several times, but that sorts itself out. I'm wondering how much I can shed between now and Xmas - somewhere between 3-6 stone, I think.

I haven't upped my exercise - still in a lot of hip & leg pain. I will start swimming again this month - so I can exercise without the weight on my hips and knees.

Thank you all for keeping me company. Onwards and downwards.
