On a side note, it turns out beginner aerobics just means suitable for all, it was absolutely not easy but I kept up with the crowd, this never would've been possible a few months ago. I felt exhausted but awesome afterwards.

Well done @TrinityWaves

JunoRoma · 14/05/2025 13:15

@TrinityWaves also congrats on the sub-200lb milestone, really pleased for you.

OrangeDonald · 14/05/2025 14:41

Im coming up to my 6 months on MJ milestone. Similar to @JunoRoma I've only just gone up to 5mg.

But despite low dose I'm averaging 0.5kg loss every week, so far ive lost 12.8% of body weight. My bmi is down to 28. I think I'll be at my goal weight in another 2 or 3 months.

Today i was doing squats & bicep curls with a 10kg barbell and it was heavy and felt like a workout - but its less than the weight I've lost so far which blows my mind.

Julesni77 · 14/05/2025 15:23

Plodder update here!

Especially @TrinityWaves sub 200lbs is the dream!

Goinghome25 · 14/05/2025 17:21

Well done Trinity!

JunoRoma · 14/05/2025 18:46

@Julesni77 well done on losing 3 stone!

Goinghome25 · 15/05/2025 10:47

Well I appear to be stuck at 11.1st... thats 3 weeks now and no loss... only 4lb loss in past 8 weeks...so sadly no 10 on the scales yet...

I think this is a plateau as I increased to 10mg last week..

However... I have been walking a lot... 22 miles last weekend in training for a distance hike and I have now lost 1/4 of my current body weight!

Plan to temporarily increase calories to 2000 a day while on the walk to ensure I cover the extra energy expenditure that walking 8-16 miles a day will require.

If I maintain my current weight for several more weeks while staying active and eating well, my body is very likely in the process of adopting this lower weight as its "new normal" or set point so while I am not losing currently... I guess its okay!!

Goinghome25 · 15/05/2025 10:54

Nearly a quarter... 4lbs to go..

glittermittens · 16/05/2025 09:38

Hello, it's been a while since I posted. Weight loss has been a little up and down, but back on track again now. Finally hit 37lbs off ☺️

@TrinityWavesim definitely going to change provider from medexpress soon but I have one more £40 discount to use. I’ve learnt to preorder way in advance now though!

3.5lb off this week, which makes up for the small gain last week. Hit the 3st milestone HURRAH! I'm sure the celebrating will be short lived as I'm on holiday next week and so will invariably show a gain. Sigh. Almost 6 months in and a half-stone per month is great though!

Holiday week will be a great test of how I do off-plan, but I am finding the idea of food prep being out of my control a little daunting.

Still jabbing in my thigh, still on c1700-1800cals per day, 3lt water, steps at an average of 8k per day thanks to the walking pad.

Well done on the 3 stone milestone!

You might be surprised on your return feom holiday. I was. Enjoyed unlimited buffet food but I only wanted healthy stuff and weirsly I lost 4lb in 10 days!

Been very slow since then though!

Have a lovely holiday

Slimwannabe · 18/05/2025 17:29

Thanks @JunoRoma and @Goinghome25, if I come home from hols without a gain I'll be delighted! 😁

So great seeing everyone's news. I've stalled again. Still at 12s 4lb (which is still 2st 5lb loss!). I've increased to 4mg yesterday from 3.75. I've been shattered though and napped today and have a belting headache.

I know I'm still rubbish on the food. I'm not prioritising the right things or eating enough by any stretch so do need to focus on that. But work is beyond busy and I'm having renovations at home. And both are frying my brain (normally I can cope well when it's only one thing). I'm hoping to get moving again soon and see 11st something on the scales.

shrinkingfi · 18/05/2025 20:17

@Slimwannabe i think a relaxing break and a change in routine is just what one needs to get things moving along. Incredibly I lost 3kg after 10 days in Spain. Have a fantastic break!

Slimwannabe · 19/05/2025 07:37

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals it's really hard to constantly be finding the time and mental energy to plan and cook food. Could you use something like huel? I've not tried it, so apologies if it's a bad suggestion!

Thank you @shrinkingfi!

One of the things I love about this medication is that I'm not really thinking about or planning food much. A few minutes here and there ie when food shopping.

I'm eating what I feel like eating. This is so freeing because am finding I just really want to eat healthy food and only enjoy small amounts of things that might be considered unhealthy.

OrangeDonald · 19/05/2025 17:14

I injected 5mg last week, and my weight loss this week has been 2kg, which is phenomenal as ive been averaging 0.5kg. But, I've struggled with side effects, absolutely no interest in food, headaches, tiredness, etc. I'm not sure how much of that is related to MJ as this week also coincided with my period but i feel wiped.

Jab day is tomorrow, and I'm wondering if you all would suggest staying on the 5mg in one final push to reach my goal weight (3 to 4) more weeks at this rate, or whether to reduce back down for slow steady weight loss with no side effects?

I think I would take another 5mg dose and see if things settle. Drink lots of water and use Electrolytes and hopefully headaches will ease.

Make sure you are eating regularly even if not hungry.

If you can't face another week feeling like this then maybe drop down slightly .

Week whatever weigh and jab day
SW 15 stone
CW 12 stone 8
TW 9 stone

almost back to where I was pre holidays! I’m quite pleased the holiday hasn’t messed me up totally, as well as my lack of MJ. Due to Med express delays I was left with about half a 12.5mg pen to cover 4 weeks. I did one week off, then three doses of about 8mg because I didn’t want to have to start again when I got back. Took 10mg this week and back up to 12.5 this week. Don’t know if it’s perfect- seemed to work for me because I did have suppression, although not as strong, and no side effects. Hoping to stay on 12.5 for a while and get moving on weight loss again.

I think I would try one more week at 5mg (to establish if the symptoms are MJ-related or period-related) and then if still feeling rubbish I'd reduce to 3.75mg, even if that means taking slightly longer to reach goal.

WoT day (weigh on Tuesday)😂

Loss this week (well 6 days): -1 lb
SW: 263.4 (BMI43.3)
CW: 198.6
TL: 64.8 lb
TW: 13 st (BMI30), 12 st (BMI27.7), 11 st (BMI25.3)
Current dose: 10mg (pink) (really good suppression this week, weird as I've been on 10 for 6 weeks now)

OrangeDonald · 20/05/2025 14:51

Ive been brave and injected 5mg again. Fingers crossed that side effects will ease, if not I'll go back down to 3.75 next week (just to survive half term)

Hope it goes OK for you this week.

I took my third consecutive dose of 5mg yesterday evening. The past two weeks have been fine so far, but last time I tried 5mg (in March) the horrid side effects started in the fourth week at that dose, so I'm still feeling slightly trepidatious.
