Just starting up a new thread!

I realise you had asked about 8.25mg, but in order to get 8.25mg from a 7.5mg pen you'd need to measure 0.66ml, and 1ml insulin syringes aren't designed or calibrated for that degree of accuracy.

Thank you so much.

I think I will bite the bullet and inject 0.2nl to make it up to 10mg. Been on 7.5mg for over 7 weeks now. Its time to move up.

Anybody an expert on Thai food?

I'm going out for a meal at Zaap Thai at lunchtime. The last couple of times I've eaten a rich meal out, I have been really nauseous later. Is anyone familiar with Thai food that could suggest something off the menu that's not too heavy or fatty? https://zaapthai.co.uk/food/

I'm on 7.5mg at the moment and just about managing day to day so I don't want to upset it all!

I had sticky white rice and chicken with green curry sauce. Left the red chilli at the side of the plate. Was very delicious but couldnt eat more tthan 1/2 the portion.

Thanks! I had spring rolls then a chicken curry with rice of which I had half. I feel like I've eaten an elephant! Last year I would have demolished all that with room for dessert.

I did my last dose of my 7.5mg yesterday then used a syringe to access "bonus dose" to draw 0.016ml to make it up to 9.9mg so pretty much a 10mg dose.

With hours my appetite was dead!
Really brought home to me how much the effects of the 7.5mg had worn off!

I am now thinking 7.5mg might be a good dose for maintaining when I reach healthy bmi.

Really hoping for a loss this week 🙏

JunoRoma · 07/05/2025 16:53

@TrinityWaves you are making great progress!

As well as the weight loss, one of my personal targets is to get my waist below 100cm / 40". My waist size has stayed pretty much the same for the last couple of months, despite steadily losing weight.
Today I felt like maybe my work trousers were a smidgen looser, but it might just have been wishful thinking.

Thank you :-)

Measurement targets are great too. I'm sure you'll smash that soon.

I've been measuring a lot and have a target of getting to the measurements of a Size 12 - quite a way off yet! I officially 'record' once a month. I'm hoping my 11 stone target should be about a 12.

That's really good you have such strong suppression with 10. I moved up recently to 10 and it was stronger but not like this. FC for a loss for you.

TrinityWaves · 09/05/2025 22:16

I've suddenly noticed a big bounce in mobility since hitting 200 lb ish. I can actually jump with ease. I'm attempting my first exercise class since about 2011 next week. Although I'm doing strength at home and I do walk a lot generally I'm getting very little cardio so I'm off the beginner aerobics. If I don't make it back to the thread, it may have finished me off 😂

Another NSV is how much smoother my feet are, it must be less pressure on them 🦶

I'm going to try and stay on 10mg at least for the next couple of months. I don't fancy the price jump that seems to happen when you go up to a .5 dose (i.e. 2.5/5 are around the same cost, then up to 7.5/10 same ish and a jump for 12.5) Along with the stock issues around 12.5/15, is very worrying. Considering I'm not a super-suppression-responder to MJ I don't want to work up to 15 and then have no where to go! The TDEE calculator says at 11 stone and my height it'll be 1600/700 for maintenance (this is obviously with no exercise so could of course be more with a higher activity level). I think I could definitely maintain on 1600/700 right now on 7.5.

Although, I got a cool TDEE spreadsheet recommended on Reddit and it's great for tracking a really bespoke TDEE. It needs a good month of data to be accurate but I've recorded calories from the start so have 5 months of numbers.

Anyway, Friday night ramblings finished 😬

JunoRoma · 09/05/2025 22:52

@TrinityWaves that's great that your mobility has improved, I hope the exercise class is a positive experience for you.

I can definitely walk faster and further, and the cycling is getting easier too.

Feeling chuffed and relieved this morning that my weight has finally started to drop after weeks of yo-yoing on 7.5mls. I’ve lost 4 pounds this week after going up to 8.25mls. I wasn’t confident I was going to see a loss as I’ve just come out of a week long period. To be fair I’ve been eating better this week, more salad with the weather improving. I’ve also measured myself and since November I’ve lost 4” off my hips and 3” off my waist. So, I’ve lost 25 pounds in total 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Just for my reference, stats are as follows:

SW 213 pounds
CW 188 pounds
TW 161 pounds
Loss to date 25 pounds
27 pounds to go!!!

Im so grateful to be part of the December starters group. You’ve all been so funny, helpful, kind with all your posts. I’m so glad to have found you all in our journey to get healthier. Have a fab weekend everyone xx

Goinghome25 · 10/05/2025 11:22

Nsv put my bra sized swimsuit on and it is so baggy arouns the boobs and tummy that I actually look halarious in it!

Just ordered a replacement... i was size 16 36h, jmy size 14 clothes are baggy now so just guessed what size I am and ordered a size 12 with bra shelf.... crossing my fingers thats right for me now..

Slimwannabe · 11/05/2025 14:27

Gained a lb this week, which is to be expected as I'm ovulating and that seems to be my bloat time more so than when I'm on my period. Hopefully it'll come off next week!

Ugh, progress is slowwwww....

Just checking into thread 3! Gosh, you are all doing sooo well!!
Although I don’t post often I love catching up on how everyone is doing and I am very grateful for all the tips and information you give.
I started jabbing the 2nd week in December as I really wanted to get a grip before Xmas and I’m pleased to say it was definitely the right choice. I’m similar to a few on here that are losing the weight slowly & steadily (although I would love for it to come off much faster!)
I am currently on a 29lb loss and have gone down a size in clothing which I must admit feels really good! I still have about the same to go until i’ll feel like i’m ready to maintain but I’m so happy that I’m halfway there!
I have a 2 week holiday to look forward to in June so my goal is to have lost another 3lbs to take me under the next stone.
I really couldn’t have done this without Mounjaro and you lovely lot to support me along the way!!

OrangeDonald · 11/05/2025 18:55

Went into McDonald's today, for the first time since December. Ordered a big mac and fries.

It was actually not pleasant to eat. The chips just tasted oily and grim, the burger didn't give me joy. Not sure how much of that is due to MJ, or if it's that I've just got used to eating better food

Slimwannabe · 11/05/2025 19:26

I found similar when I had a Chinese takeaway @OrangeDonald - it didn't taste particularly good. I think it must be related to the MJ as well as being partly due to eating better, as "junk" food doesn't really appeal anymore.

OP posts:
Goinghome25 · 12/05/2025 08:17

The size 12 swimsuit fits!!!

I am so unbelievably happy.

It used to cost me £40 plus for swimwear due to the industrial level of support necessary in the chest area!!

Now I can buy a basic £12 cossie and look GOOD in it!

bonus ££ right there! (i swim a lot!)

So true... when my family day "lets get a delivery!" I struggle to choose anything as nothing on the menu appeals..

Ended up eating half a halloumi burger with avo the other night then saving the rest for my lunch the following day!

Slimwannabe · 12/05/2025 11:33

So far I think my safest takeaway options are sushi, vietnamese, or turkish/mezze food, but I can make all of that at home so it feels a bit pointless 🤣

frogpigdonkey · 12/05/2025 19:38

Hello all- I’ve been off for a while as I’ve been on holidays. Carried on with MJ but definitely not as careful as usual and also had to eke out a pen as Medexpress delays meant I didn’t have a fresh one to take. Have gained 3 lbs over a 3 week trip but given 2 weeks were AI I’m not that unhappy. Going to jab today and start weighing again seriously next week as I’m hoping there is a bit of water weight to bounce off! Glad to see everyone doing so well.

mjjourney · 12/05/2025 21:10

Hi all! Checking in after some advice on here last week about upping a 7.5mg pen to a higher dose. Last Sunday I managed to get 8.75mg and after weeks of a plateau I lost 3lbs this week! It’s been a good boost and meant I’ve got 40lbs loss so far! The end is in sight with 17lbs left till I reach my goal

using my 7.5mg pen to increase to 10mg

JunoRoma · 13/05/2025 08:18

So far no unpleasant side effects after moving back up to 5mg, but I reallse it takes 4 weeks for the levels to build up fully, so I'm still being quite careful about what I eat, particularly in the first few days after each injection.

SW 107kg
CW 79.5kg
GW 75kg

Lost 1kg last week and 1.5kg this week, which feels great after a month of struggling to lose 0.5kg a week.

Now that my weight is in the 70s I'm considering that it might be feasible to move my final goal a little lower than 75kg (BMI 27.5) but I'll see how things go.

Total loss so far 27.5kg
I can't quite believe that I've lost more than 25% of my body weight.

Lindy0070 · 13/05/2025 14:46

@mjjourney That’s amazing news 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Goinghome25 · 13/05/2025 17:00

Wow well done both of you on fantasric weight losses!

TrinityWaves · 14/05/2025 10:39

W25D01

Loss this week: -0.6 so target met of getting under 200 lb
SW: 263.4 (BMI43.3)
CW: 199.6
TL: 63.8
TW: 13 st (BMI30), 12 st (BMI27.7), 11 st (BMI25.3)
Current dose: 10mg (pink)

I might move weigh day to Tuesdays, I've been injecting Tuesday PM for a while and I'm likely to be exercising Tuesday eve every week now (and I know this can cause water retention).

TrinityWaves · 14/05/2025 10:45

@Lindy0070 4 lb is awesome!
@LoopieLoo17 fab loss so far!
@Goinghome25 that must feel amazing to get into a 12 (definitely my big dream!)
@frogpigdonkey - hope you had a lovely holiday, I'm sure you'll get that small gain back off in no time. I've seen lots of people having issues with ME delays and changing pharmacies (is this an option for you?)
@mjjourney - brilliant loss and you're getting so close to goal now!!
@JunoRoma - I'm glad the 5 is OK and some great losses there!

TrinityWaves · 14/05/2025 10:47

On a side note, it turns out beginner aerobics just means suitable for all, it was absolutely not easy but I kept up with the crowd, this never would've been possible a few months ago. I felt exhausted but awesome afterwards.
