Just starting up a new thread!

My last pen was 5mg and i had no side effects. I injected 5mg (new pen) on Monday and I've had explosive diarrhea since. First experience of sulphur burps too, they are minging.

Has anyone else had random side effects after being on the same dose of a while? Im already worrying about my next dose, thinking of maybe going back down to 3.75 as i don't want to feel like this again

Oh no @OrangeDonald that sounds rough. Is it gradually getting better? Try the BRAT diet to settle things a bit.

@OrangeDonald I had similar side effects (although thankfully for less than 24 hours each time) a couple of days after my 4th dose of 5mg and then twice the following week (weeks 17 and 18 of taking Mounjaro). Pepto-bismol helped.

I have seen people posting on Reddit of these side effects suddenly happening after being on the same dose for months.

If it had happened to me in the first month, I'm not sure I would have continued with the medication. I decided to reduce both the dose and the frequency of injecting, then a month later increased again to 5mg every 7 days without adverse effects.

Tedious side effect here is several days of constipation out of the blue and despite my usual daily psyllium husk dose. I’m intending to reduce my dose a bit now I’m at goal, but want to see how my weight is doing, and can’t really at the moment because just, well, bulgy.

I didn’t think I had massive suppression. It took quite a lot of thought to eat at minus 1000 cal everyday, especially to make sure high protein and nutritious. I was hungry before meals and sometimes in the evening. But now I’m upping what I eat, I realize I can eat a bit more but actually not much. I could easily get full TDEE with wine and unhealthy food, but if eating high protein and fibre I’m full quickly. And although my BMI is 24.6 and so not low at all, I don’t want to lose more than a kilo or two from here because my face is looking wobbly and my clothes will be too big. So probably need to lower dose a bit.

Which will also be good on costs. I’m in the EU so already paying the higher prices. But my dr prescribes a 15mg pen which I use as long as it lasts - about 10 weeks on 7.5 including extra doses. At the moment I’m taking 3.75 twice a week but intend to reduce one dose until I’m just taking it once a week.

@ShrankLastWinter thats interesting that your Doctor okays using the pen longer. Do you take any extra measures? Like keeping it cold all the time? Do you get the kwikpen where you are?

@Goinghome25 yes, I think it’s the same kind of pen. I was initially a bit doubtful about the longer use, but doctor says it remains effective if kept cold, so they prescribe like this for everyone. My mother’s GP practice nurse in the UK does the same thing, she says, though how that works with maintaining an ordering history I do not know.

Thats useful to know as I may have to eke my current pen out a bit.

Guess the order history is more important if you move suppliers. Although many people seem to have a stockpile of extra pens and order from different suppliers.

I usually order mine every 5 weeks because I have teens who have been known to leave fridge doors open all night! Ive never been questioned on the gaps.

Well it’s Sunday night here, I was away for the weekend and didn’t take my 5mg dose, im going to take it tomorrow (Monday) morning and hope that if I get fatigued, it’s comes through at the end of the day and then I can sleep it off, fingers crossed.

@OrangeDonald yep, I had side effects randomly on my second 5mg pen, nothing before or since!

Inexplicable 1.5lb gain this week, which is frustrating as I feel like I've been dancing around the same weight on the scales for ages - hopefully it drops off again, and with some extra!

Annoying. It will just be a blip. Keep looking at the overall downward trend.
I had a long stall and during that went up and down by a lb for a few weeks too.

Wk39 for me, no loss again, but I am 5lbs lighter than I was on Wk29! 7lbs to my target for maintaining.

Just picked up my 2kg weight and that made me feel better about the slow progress! 🙂

I haven’t been on here for ages but I wanted to share a huge scale victory for me today! I finally got into the 13’s, a 6 stone loss since December. Haven’t been this weight for well over 10 years pre children. I’m currently on my 2nd 15mg pen, but finding suppression is not great…so really having to use a lot of willpower to continue losing. I have another 15mg pen in my fridge but then I’m not sure what I will do going forward. I don’t think I can afford to continue on this dose with the increase in price. I have about 1.5 - 2 stone left to lose. Anyone else in this situation and what is your plan going forward?

Congratulations! Thats amazing progress.

Im on 10mg. My plan is to taper when I reach goal.. which is 7lb away and at the rate Im losing now.. up to 3 months away

Having been forced to take a two-month break from Mounjaro weight loss has felt frustratingly slow since resuming — though I have actually lost 5.5lbs in the past month (some of which was gained when I had to stop injecting).
But the good news is that I had my annual check at the GP and my blood pressure is still way down, so am off meds, and I no longer have prediabetes. Result!
Overall I've lost 2st10lbs, around 17.5kilos without going any higher than the 5mg dose. It really is life-changing — but I'd like to lose another stone, at least

I'm not on the highest dose but in a situation where I can't continue at 10mg on the new prices. So I'm going to titrate down, I'll be injecting 7.5mg tomorrow. I actually have a stash of pens in the fridge but not from August panic buying, they've built up over time from ordering every 3/4 weeks but using each one for 5 weeks. I'm planning to microdose to drag them out a bit, too. I started at 18st 11, I was 12st 4 Tuesday. I would've like to get to goal and then maintain for a bit on MJ but it's looking more like I'll be maintaining solo once I reach my goal of 11st (although have been thinking about maybe going for 10st, absolute dream weight I weighed aged 18 ish!)

Sort of NSV - recently bumped into a couple of people I haven't seen in a million years so they never know how fat I got 😂

@Slimwannabe argh that's frustrating. It's so annoying when that happens. Maybe you'll see the drop next week. I've danced around the same weight for what feels like a month! Although finally unstuck now.

@OrangeDonald i had the same. Zero side effects and then one 4mg dose which I had been on a few weeks suddenly gave me sulphur burps and mega headaches. The only difference was it wasn't refrigerated as I took it away with me. Doses since are the same and not had any more side effects.

I have finally finally! Seen a number starting with a 10 on the scales. I've been stuck at 11.2 for 4-5 weeks. Finally got 10.13.5 on the scales today! So creeping towards 4 stone loss!!

cost and pen wise, I've been ordering them this month from med express to beat the price increase, I'm still taking 4mg from 5mg pen so expect to stay on that for the remaining time on MJ if I can. I've got 3 full pens in the fridge and one dregs of an opened pen which I'll get at some point when I get a needle to do it (fully ignore the 30 days thing obviously). I will still keep buying the MJ for as long as I need and I still intend to keep some sort of dose for maintenance regardless of the price, but I realise I am incredibly fortunate to be able to do that.

I had planned to get to goal and then titrate down through the doses to maintain, but that looks unlikely now. I’m just glad I’ve managed to lose the biggest chunk of weight using MJ, I’ve got about 8 weeks worth of 15mg left so hoping to try lose another 7lbs with that. I had thought about switching to wegovy but not sure if it would be worth it. Is anyone else planning to switch?

Now that I've reached a size and BMI that I'm happy with, I'm hoping to keep my weight between 68 and 70kg (around 11 stone).
If it reaches 72kg then I will start food logging again.

So it's injection day for me and I have no pen 😔

It feels like COVID all over again 😅 You think I'd learnt after we got down to a single loo roll!

No sure what to do now....can't find any in stock anywhere. Have ordered with MedExpress but they said 7-10 days and that was last week and still no progress.

Anyone moved or considering moving to WeGovy?

Not sure if thus is a NSV or just weird. Going through my teenage daughter’s wardrobe (18 and teeny tiny size 6) I cleared out a load of jeans she doesn’t wear any more. Before putting them in the charity shop pile, I tried some of them on.

2 pairs of them fit. 1 quite nice designer pair as well. To be fair they were always big on her and she had to wear a belt but I’m seriously shocked.

Sorry to hear this. Nobody should be left in this situation, without necessary medication.

The whole things is a mess.

Some people are fine for a few months but worrying about continuity of supply as they wont have the order history required for continued safe prescribing of the medication.

While others are now running out (me!)
or like you, have now completely run out, of medication, overdue a dose, with no way of getting more. Problem is unlike covid we cant share a spare loo roll with our neighbour!
Really hope your delivery comes soon.

Mine is due on Thursday but has not been approved yet 😪
