Just starting up a new thread!

Still no news here regarding my pen 😕 Bloody annoying! I knew price rises were happening but didn't realise bulk buying was a thing until I tried to buy my next pen! Pretty sure my providers won't allow you buy more than one at a time 🤔

I think if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week I'll have to seriously consider moving over to WeGovy.

Finally down to single figures though 🎉 Might not be by the time I get my pen though 😅

@Goinghome25 Any news on your pen?

frogpigdonkey · 27/08/2025 17:07

Hello all! Some amazing weight losses and NSVs here, so glad to see everyone still on it.

I’ve been quiet for a while as it hasn’t really been going well. After my slow losses I went through a plateau and then to my horror started going up again! Compounded by going on holiday. I weighed myself when I got home and I was half a stone heavier than my lowest which really put me in a funk., especially as I didn’t feel I had been at all excessive while being away. Seems to be going down quite rapidly again thankfully so I’m hoping there is some water weight, also feeling pretty pre menstrual having not had a period in 6 months (bloody menopause). I’d considered going up to 15 (already on 12.5 for some months) but thanks to the price rises can’t get a pen for love nor money! Thankfully still have one 12.5 pen so I’m going to go through that and then hopefully some new (bloody expensive) stock will be in.

so feeling a bit gloomy, trying to see the positives and get back on the horse!

Sorry youre feeling gloomy. Rapidly dropping sounds positive though!

JunoRoma · 27/08/2025 19:02

@frogpigdonkey that must have been frustrating. Hopefully the downward trend will continue now.

Lindy0070 · 28/08/2025 11:12

Hi all, just checking in. This whole MJ thing is a nightmare. I’ve got two full 12.5 pens in the fridge and after emailing medexpress this morning about a pen that says was dispatched on 15th Aug, they now say they are out of stock. Didn’t stop them taking my money though 🙄. They’ve offered a full refund or to wait. Anyway, the cost is getting ridiculous and I’m thinking of doing half doses with the two pens I’ve got left. Just see how that goes I guess.

JunoRoma · 28/08/2025 11:36

I had already planned to gradually try tapering down my dose from the start of September.
I'm now also considering how to use the full amount in each pen.
I have one (5th) dose remaining in this pen and then plan to divide the next pen into 6 doses.
(Disclaimer: I realise this involves using the pen for 35 days and I'm comfortable with this; I store it at 4°C and use best practice hygiene procedures when administering.)

Goinghome25 · 28/08/2025 16:50

My pen is here 🥳
jab and weigh day... stayed the same this wèek..

The box was ripped but the pen looked ok and I just feel lucky to have one right now!

I was thinking along similar lines @JunoRoma but as I am still 7lb from goal I will continue on 10mg for next 5 weeks. My 2nd pen is due end Sept so hope to be nearer goal by then and take 7.5mg x 6 from that one.

I dont keep mine in the fridge becauae of teenagers but it will be colder by then.

Goinghome25 · 30/08/2025 13:45

NSV. Tried on some GAP jeans in a charity shop. They were Size 10 and they fit!!!! 🥳🥳

New jeans for £7!

mjjourney · 31/08/2025 08:53

Morning all!

end of 1st week on 12.5- wow the suppression is high!! A bit too high so hope it balances out this week

huge NSV for me this week as I’ve entered the 10 stone bracket!! And only 2lbs to go to hit an overall 4stone loss

going on holiday soon and having to buy a whole new wardrobe! Which is fab but not good for my wallet!

SW - 14st 11lbs
CW 10st 13lbs
TW 10st 7lbs (interim and will reassess)

I’m also on my first 12.5 pen and whilst I can eat a reasonable amount on it, I’m finding it absolutely shuts out the food noise so that I forget to eat. It also lasts for far longer than 7 days. It’s the most effective dose to date.

mjjourney · 31/08/2025 09:44

@Claudette7934

yes i 100% agree! Have struggled to get my calories in this week but has been good for a reset. Just trying to focus on protein rich foods to make sure I have something in my body!

Slimwannabe · 31/08/2025 17:21

Despite having had a bit of a crap week in terms of hitting my macros and not overindulging, the rapid weight gain was followed by a whopping 5.5lb loss. Factoring in the 1.5lb "gain" that's a 4lb loss over 2 weeks, and I'm pretty delighted. 0.5lb away from the next stone bracket!

SW: 273lb
CW: 210.5lb

Still on 7.5, and looks like I'll be paying around £270-300 a pen with my provider with the increases 😬😱. Sadly they have my loyalty as I love my health coach, love the prescriber medical support, and having heard some of the issues you guys have had, I'm hoping I'll continue to have a stress-free delivery experience as they aren't reporting any shortages.

Having been on 5mg since the start of May, for the past 3 weeks I have been finding it less effective. Throughout this process, the effect I've valued the most has been the delayed gastric emptying. I'm now hungry again 3-4 hours after eating, complete with really loud stomach rumbles.

I'm trying to choose foods that will keep me feeling full for as long as possible. Today I had overnight oats with Greek yogurt and fruit, and a salad with halloumi, butternut squash, beetroot and quinoa.

If I had more weight to lose then I would be increasing the dose at this point. As it is, I'm now in the maintenance stage and was hoping to start titrating down soon. But I'm feeling apprehensive as I know I don't cope well with feeling hungry for too long.

Could you prep low-cal snacks to use in-between meals, like fruit, veg sticks, small portion of almonds etc? Something that will stave off the pangs but not massively add to your daily cals. I admit that I'm a sucker for a salt hit from pom bears or wotsits (obvs zero nutritional value but hits that sweet spot)!

Also yes to that salad - I swear by a puy lentil, halloumi, roasted squash, beet and pickled red onion salad with a parsley lemon dressing that sounds so "worthy" but absolutely bangs. The husband eats meat, but that's in his top 5 dinners.

@Slimwannabe thank you for replying.
I've been using this approach:
Step 1: drink some herbal tea in case it's thirst rather than hunger
Step 2: if that doesn't help then eat a banana or apple
Step 3: if still hungry 30 minutes later, and if it's more than an hour until the next meal, then make a smoothie with protein powder and frozen fruit.

The other thing is that I am still losing an average of 0.5 kg (1 lb) per week, so perhaps I need to slightly increase my portion sizes or add another (healthy) snack somewhere into the day.

CatRash · 01/09/2025 10:38

Well done on getting into a new stone bracket @mjjourney - always a great feeling!

I still have no pen.....contacted MedExpress today to try and find out when I can expect it as it's been more than the 7-10 days they've stated. Very annoying. Not counting on hearing back from them anytime soon.

Two days ago my period returned after not having one since March time!! Why MJ stopped my periods, who knows, but clearly it's definitely the MJ not any stored up hormones in fat cells.

It's a killer too 😖

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 01/09/2025 14:07

Gah. I've had issues accessing MN off my browser. It just won't load. So resorted to the app!

im really struggling. I'm on 4mg and if I eat anything a bit naughty my stomach now turns into a washing machine and it all goes through me. And the sulphur burps make me want to puke. It's so weird as not increased my dose and I've had no side effects like this until the past couple of weeks.

JunoRoma · 01/09/2025 14:31

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals I feel for you, those type of side effects are difficult to tolerate. It happened to me in weeks 17 and 18 and I was close to giving up. I hope it settles soon.

Sounds like you'll be able to up your cals a bit, which will definitely help! Plus you are doing all the right things to manage the appetite!

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals I find pepto bismol really helped me with gastro issues/sulphur burps. Apparently peppermint capsules also help although I haven't tried them.

I've been mostly free of those side effects luckily, although made a bun cha tonight that was face-numbingly spicy and my stomach is now doing cartwheels! 😬

OP posts:
Slimwannabe · 01/09/2025 21:24

@CatRash are you all out of pens? That's my nightmare, I'm happiest when I have two in the fridge!

So weird how MJ impacts the periods too, I wonder why it is! Makes no sense to me!

OP posts:
MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 02/09/2025 08:07

@Slimwannabe I'll give pepto a try! Anything to make it better!!

@JunoRoma I can see why you nearly gave up, I'm on day 2 of literally liquid coming from me and it's awful. I just don't get why now though, I've had pretty much side effects for nearly 7 months and now this. It's driving me insane.

Slimwannabe · 02/09/2025 08:27

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals I had similar on my second 5mg pen FOR NO REASON. Still quite possible it was a tummy bug, but it was horrendous. Up all night pooping (if you can call it that). I tried the pepto out of desperation and did get pretty immediate relief (albeit that could be bc I was on day 4 and the bug had run its course). I took it again at the first sign of sulphur burps and churning belly, and it never progressed further.

Are you on plain, stodgy food? Pasta, rice, bread etc?
