Just starting up a new thread!

I use Juniper, which I think is similar to Voy in terms of provision of coaching support. It is a high price point though, but I really appreciate my lovely, supportive health coach (and her motivational voice messages) and they have back-up AI for out of hours support. They have a referral scheme and a FB community as well, if that's something that you like in a provider. I've been with them since the beginning and never had an issue, and it's pretty easy to initiate a prescription review to stick at a dose or move up, or adjust the delivery of your next pen.

Oh, and they also have a maintenance programme now.

Wow at the huge losses @JunoRoma and @TrinityWaves - can't wait to eventually join you! And @OrangeDonald I love that confidence for you! 🩷

Hmmmppphhh. Just fell out with VOY over their messing up my prescription and extended mess ups. Long story but their AI isn’t offering the standard the premium price commands. So looking for ideas of a replacement supplier who will take me on with a bmi of 32 and a decent plan for maintenance which might involve continuing on a low dose for maintenance if necessary. Can anyone make any suggestions? Feel quite panicky without my next dose in hand!

Im with Curate, i think they offer maintenance. So far no issues, although i think @Lindy0070 may be with them and she had massive faff with 6 month check delaying her next pen.

They tend to email/text endless money off discount codes so I've never paid full price for a pen. Equally though, they pretty much don't offer any support, nutritional help or anything so if thats something you want then maybe go for a different pharmacy

JunoRoma · 12/08/2025 20:20

That's a good point about the visceral fat @Goinghome25

@OrangeDonald a size 12 dress is definitely something to celebrate.

Apart from underwear, I haven't bought anything new since I started this process; at each decrease in size I've replenished my wardrobe from Vinted / eBay. If I reach the point where I feel confident that I can keep my weight stable, I might invest in some new clothes.

I still haven't brought new bras, currently living in a very old bikini top that seems to be the only thing in my wardrobe that's a perfect fit. But i dont want to spend loads of money on bras which hopefully won't fit in a month or two.

I am loving vinted shopping. I'm kind of re living my wardrobe mid 20s, back when I was thin and trendy and before the dc appeared and ate up all my money. So today i was in a max mara dress (£10), tomorrow I'm in Coast dress (£15) and hopefully my new Ghost dress (£12) will appear very soon too. Plus I've got some weird anxiety about going into actual clothes shops, because size 16-18 me hated clothes shopping and i guess my brain needs some time to catch up to this new sized me.

JunoRoma · 13/08/2025 08:21

Pre-weight loss I had a fitting at Rigby and Peller, found a bra style which worked for my huge breasts, and have been buying those since.

Since losing the weight I've had to buy a size smaller (both band and cup). These fit OK for now but the style (full-cup) is no longer right for me due to the weight loss.

Once my weight stabilises I need to go for another fitting. I realise you can measure and fit from home, but one of the instructions (bend over at the waist without a bra on and measure around where the breasts reach to) would now give a ridiculous and inaccurate measurement for me.

Like you ive always needed to wear supportive, underwired full cup bras.

Now my measurements are so much smaller I wear soft Molke bras and they are so comfortable and also look cute ! and they also give good "uplift" which is what I need now more than containment!

Highly recomend them!

Oh that’s a useful tip, thank you!

shrinkingfi · 14/08/2025 16:33

There is a lot of panic on Facebook that the price of MJ is going to increase hugely in September. Has anyone heard this from a legitimate source??

Goinghome25 · 14/08/2025 16:52

My provider (Oushk) just did a live on FB and confirmed that MJ will be subject to big price increases from 1st Sept

Ive just used my 3 maintenance codes to order 3 pens for delivery before 1st Sept and my new plan will be to tritate down and come off by Jan 2026.

I cant afford to stay on it long term now.

Goinghome25 · 14/08/2025 16:57

Im gutted as I thought this was my healthy future.

its even worse though for those who have just started their MJ journey 😪

JunoRoma · 14/08/2025 17:02

I had hoped to stay on it for at least another year, if not two. The new prices will push it outside of my budget so I need to rethink and titrate down sooner.

I've just ordered three pens to be delivered before the end of August. I also have one pen in reserve so that should see me through to the end of 2025.

OrangeDonald · 14/08/2025 17:08

Im gutted about price increase. I'm hoping it will still be within my budget, as the MJ hasn't just helped with weight loss its also doing magical things to stop my perimenopasual inflammation. I think I'll stay on it till i reach my goal weight, and then depending on price i might try switching to wegovy or something for maintenance.

Goinghome25 · 14/08/2025 17:42

We can stay on here and support each other.

I may switch over to a lchf diet now as that has worked for me in the past. Both to lose weight and to keep blood sugar and hormones more stable. Be very sad to give up sourdough but if its going to save me £250 a month I think I will learn to cope!

MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals · 14/08/2025 17:58

Sorry for the delayed jump back into the thread. I've been away. Eaten too much, ended up with sulphur burps (which is the first time ever) and I'm still at 3.5stone loss and can't bloody shift!

I've realised I'm also massively unfit despite the weight loss so need to see about doing something to fix that.

Regarding the price increases, they're definitely coming but at the moment I'm just not sure how bad they will be. The only prices I can see floating around are list prices and that's never the final price people will end up paying. I'm assuming somewhere in the region of £50-£100 per pen increase though.
ive just ordered another pen, and MedExpress will let me get another at the end of August, so that will be three I'll have at the current price. If it stays at around £200 I'll still stay on it. if anyone has any discounts for anyone though, I may go and order an extra pen from a new supplier now, just because.

Slimwannabe · 14/08/2025 18:42

My provider (Juniper) has also confirmed price increases incoming, but not how much yet. I'm already at a fairly premium price so it's worrying as I have a long way to go still, so I'll have to find a way to make it work. Luckily I had both a bonus and some overtime pay recently that I can use to supplement the increase for a while.

@OrangeDonald same - it has transformed my ridiculously heavy, painful periods and I was hoping to stay on for that alone.

Argh, pesky price increases!

On the flip side I've been drinking fibre powder the last few days and had the most insane suppression and no constipation lol! 😂

How much was the price before, and with the increase? I paid $389 for the 5mg which is £187, just trying to gauge the comparison. I’m in Australia, no price increases have been noted here. If I go up to the 7.5 that’s $589 or £282 a month. Even with the golden dose it’s a massive cost.

Goinghome25 · 15/08/2025 11:52

My provider has emailed this morning saying theyll support patients to switch over to Wegovy GLP-1 medication.

Looks like it might be a more affordable option for maintenance...

Suppliers and discount codes can massively vary but at the moment the UK prices are (with discounts applied) the median average of roughly... £130 (2.5), £140 (5), £165 (7.5), £170 (10), £190 (12.5), £200 (15).

However lots of us shop around, use new customer discount codes etc, so I've generally paid £150 for 10mg, the above prices are those middle of the road ones. With the increases it's looking like 2.5mg is going to be £170ish for customers and 15mg will be well over £300. The originally published 'cost prices' were even higher but this is what I'm reading has been negotiated.

TrinityWaves · 15/08/2025 15:49

So I've been chatting with DH this morning re what to do, as my current dose is 10mg and this looks like it's going to be around £250 going forwards (I currently pay £150ish depending on codes etc). We could afford it but it just seems a lot from our pot.

I have a good stash of pens in the fridge so I'm going to start titrating down. I'd planned to do this anyway once I hit target. I'm about 20 lb to target (11st) at the mo. It doesn't mean MJ is never an option again in the future, or a newer version that comes out but I guess I need to try going solo to maintain.

blueblueelectricblues · 15/08/2025 17:21

I’m just so gutted about the price hikes. I’ve been a very slow loser, and have been really stalling for a couple of months. I was planning to post (I’m a very infrequent poster) for a little encouragement but now I just feel utterly despondent.

Can we order extra pens now to take us through a few months, or do providers not allow that?

blueblueelectricblues · 15/08/2025 17:31

I’ve just seen that my provider (Medexpress) says that people can switch to Wegovy which is much cheaper. Is it generally considered less effective?

shrinkingfi · 15/08/2025 18:44

Some are allowing bulk purchases apparently but they are starting to sell out. I’m starting to think continuity of supply might become an issue with all the panic buying.

Slimwannabe · 15/08/2025 20:37

My provider is offering a switch to wegovy or pen only no health coaching as more affordable options, but I'm wary of switching as MJ seems to suit me so well. They are honouring the old price until next month, but you can't bulk order pens.

I'm going to see what the new rice point ends up being then will need to make a decision about either paying more or changing provider. I feel quite attached to my health coach though - we've been doing this together for 9 months, and she's such a help and encouragement.

I'm even more annoyed at my lax few weeks and stalling progress now. I'm trying to frame it in my mind as an investment in myself and my long-term health, which is priceless really.

That sounded so schmaltzy, apologies!
