Just starting up a new thread!

OP posts:

You are definitely in sight of goal @Goinghome25
I also have a maintenance meeting with the pharmacist that week. Just hoping I don't put on half a stone on holiday in the meantime. 🤞🏻

Ha! I would be surprised if you do.

In fact you might lose. I lost 4lbs on my 2 week holiday and 1lb last week. It seems that its the weeks that i really try ...that scales refuse to budge!!!

Lindy0070 · 25/07/2025 12:37

Jab and weigh day today. Had a bit of a nightmare few weeks with consultation dramas and MJ shortage. I put on four pounds but they’ve gone when I weighed today. In fact I’m in the 12 stone band 🙌🏻🙌🏻. I actually can’t remember when I was in the 12’s last 🤦‍♀️. I have been more active this last week and more conscious of my food choices.
Jab 34:
SW 213lbs
CW 181.6lbs
TW 161lbs
%age loss 15%
BMI 29.3

My clothes are definitely looser and I’m in some clothes that I have been desperate to get into for years!!! My legs and bum are toning up nicely but my tummy is another story. I’m even thinking of getting a tummy tuck at the end of this process as I’ve a lot of hanging loose skin. Anyone else considering this or any tips on how to firm up with lotions?

JunoRoma · 25/07/2025 14:08

@Lindy0070 - well done for reaching the 12 bracket!

Lotions will moisturise the outer layer of skin temporarily, but I don't think there is anything you can put on your skin that would make any long-term difference.
A lot of people find that the loose skin improves partially with time, but this can take several months.

Well.done Lindy! Getting to the 12s 🙌

Ive been using palmers cocoa butter on my tummy and it does seem to be hekping a bit with the crepy skin

TrinityWaves · 25/07/2025 20:39

@LC4life - the fifth dose plunger thing is this but it's hard to literally snap the pen in half. Removing the dose knob then using an allen key (or similar) is this (this video is very long, it only takes me less than a minute). I think most people would probably just get syringes but it means I don't have to remember to order them and pay for them (not expensive but every penny and all that!)

And thank you, it's bonkers how many of us are close to losing an entire (very skinny) person!

The thread is a great place to get out all my ramblings.

Claudette7934 · 26/07/2025 09:19

So, I’ve lost 5 stone in 7 months which is bloody brilliant. However, the NSV are so much more important.

Indigestion and reflux has gone

I can fit into the 15 pairs of jeans I had horded in the loft.

Going for a run is so much easier and more enjoyable

Menopause symptoms reduced

Hayfever symptoms reduced (don’t understand this one)

I just feel happier and more confident in everything I do.

Accepting invitations to do sociable things.

Goinghome25 · 26/07/2025 09:28

I love this 🩷 its the nsv that really make a difference to our quality of life and our happiness.

My meni symptoms are better too.
Thats really interesting about your hay fever improving did you notice it straight away?

Last week I sat in a beach cafe in a bikini with no self conciousness at all, just feeling good in my skin. Not perfect by any stretch of imagination, but, so much happier and more relaxed about myself. Its like a mental weight has gone not just a physical one.

This is lovely. Haven’t braved a bikini yet. Bit more toning needed first.

TrinityWaves · 26/07/2025 16:23

@frogpigdonkey - I'm still a way off maintenance too, I'm the top end of overweight but I think a few of us (on this thread and others) are looking at a titrating down method. I probably rather have a spare pen or two that I don't need to use than suddenly be struggling. I always need to keep in mind that if things go really bad, I can go back on at a qualifying weight.

@Goinghome25 - that's good it was over quick, so many foods can give me a bad tummy (ironically this has actually been better on MJ!) but I can never pinpoint. And wow, only 10 lbs to your goal!! I love the bikini story too, it's fabulous to just feel comfortable!

@JunoRoma - that's fab and you're so close re the waist!

@ShrankLastWinter - great!

@MerryChristmasYaFilthyAnimals - woohoo on the 3.5 but that level of suppression sounds horrendous, hopefully 4mg will suit you better

@LC4life - I'm glad the kidney pain has mostly settled, obviously ideal would be none at all for you. Fingers crossed for the liver bloods, too!

@Lindy0070 - woohoo on the 12s! My overhang is awful, I'd love it done but there's wider considerations (the cost, looking after kids etc), maybe one day, I think I need a tummy tuck and a boob uplift (although these both looked awful before MJ - it isn't like I lost weight and then it all dropped!)

@Claudette7934 - the NSV are the best, losing weight when we've previously been large just makes everything easier, doesn't it!

I now have a fabulous wardrobe of everything size 14. As I'm aiming for a 12 lots should still fit when I get to 11st (currently 12st 12) and I got huge bag off marketplace for a fiver so it's cost next to nothing (about 40 items!!) and I already had a few bits already to shrink into. I'm also now wearing 14 pants (did buy these new lol!)

6 stone gone!! Woohoo 🙌

ShrankLastWinter · 29/07/2025 13:14

Wow Trinity, over 6 stone is AMAZING

ShrankLastWinter · 29/07/2025 13:19

I’m still dancing up and down at 74.Xkg. Back down to 74.1 this morning, but nothing lower. I shouldn’t complain because that’s a BMI of 25 and I never dreamt I’d get this far. But I’m just half a kilo off my goal of minus 30kg, and can I shift that last half kilo?? Tbf, I’ve been deliberately trying to slow my loss rate, and it’s the holidays so lots visitors, wine etc. I do think the last 500g could hoof it now.

Agree! This last bit feels like its taking ages to go!

500g off 30kg is FANTASTIC!!!

JunoRoma · 29/07/2025 14:47

@TrinityWaves - 6 stone is amazing!

CatRash · 30/07/2025 13:34

Long time and no check in so thought I'd do an update! I've just been plodding along really, moved up to 10mg two weeks ago as weight had plateaued a bit but now it's started moving in the right direction.

I've reached 10st today....so close to being in single figures! I go on holiday on Saturday so it would be nice to see a 9st on the scales before I go away. Lowest weight I've been in my entire adult life and without any dieting of any sort...crazy!!

Well done to everyone else on this journey, some of these losses are amazing!

Goinghome25 · 30/07/2025 17:55

Oooh youve just reached my goal weight! Well done. I dream of seeing a 9 on the scales!

What are you aiming for? Do you have a maintenance plan?

ShrankLastWinter · 30/07/2025 23:37

Surprisingly that whinge worked and here I am suddenly at goal! It’ll bounce back up, of course, before it goes down again, but I have seen my goal weight on the scales!

BMI now 24.9 at which I look quite, well not thin, but definitely as slim as I need to be for my build and age.

CatRash · 30/07/2025 23:40

I don't really know tbh...another 4lb would take me into the healthy BMI range but feel that another half stone to stone would be nice.

I've not even considered maintenance ATM.. probably should do something about that....

Also I really need to do some exercise too to tone up a bit (it's only been 2 years since I last did any 🫣)

Goinghome25 · 31/07/2025 07:04

@ShrankLastWinter youre AT GOAL!!!!
That is fantasic. 🥳

Goinghome25 · 31/07/2025 07:08

Well done @CatRash youre nearly there!

Im planning on going back down the doses slowly. Im on 7.5mg at the moment amd once I eventually hit goal ill go down to 5mg... still got 10lb to lose here tho

CatRash · 31/07/2025 07:21

Well done @ShrankLastWinter ! That's amazing!

Not far off goal for you either then @Goinghome25. Will you eventually go all the way down to 2.5mg then stop? Part of me wants to stay on it because of the other benefits I've heard of like link to a dementia.

Has anyone else's period been affected by the jab? My period came a few days after taking my first jab and that was probably the last proper period I've seen (that was in December obvs!). It was super light after for a couple of months that but I haven't seen it since April now other than a tiny bit of spotting sometimes.

Even had hot flashes for a few weeks in May 😬
