Couldn't see a thread for may but hoping I can find fellow starters to chat with. I've opted to go with SheMed and have just received my blood test kit through so should be starting within the next week or 2!

Ooh can I join please! Did my first jab today. Ordered from Med Express.

tkband3 · 04/05/2025 19:33

Second day nearly done. I slept really badly - felt dizzy and slightly nauseous when I lay down. Today I had a long walk with my dog and have felt a bit hungrier but still eaten way less than I usually would. Went to M&S for some healthy treats but just didn’t fancy anything!

Phat2fin · 04/05/2025 19:34

@wantmorenow the pen can be left out of the fridge for 30 days so if you get it Tuesday you should be able to get all four doses within the 30 day expiry period.

Kipperandarthur · 04/05/2025 19:35

Went out to lunch today and ordered the salad instead of the roast.

Did my first jab 5 days ago and can now really feel that the effect is waning as I'm definitely hungry now which is interesting.

Constipation kicked in pretty early on which I was expecting.

But overall I'm pleased with my first week. I did weigh two days after the jab and could see I had lost 1.5lb so will be interesting to see by the end of the full week.

AlrightTrouble · 04/05/2025 19:59

First full day done. A bit of a strange one as DC was poorly so we didn’t go out and I’ve eaten as usual to a degree, but I don’t think I would’ve eaten as much if I hadn’t been at home with them. I’ll be interested to see what my appetite looks like when I’m back in work after the Bank Holiday weekend.

Slimpleton · 04/05/2025 20:00

I'm back! Started in November but stopped over Xmas due to illness (unrelated) started again in Jan and going well then got up to 5mg and had awful side effects of diarrhea and sulphur burps which lasted days so I stopped, plodding along since but after seeing a friend's results I'm giving it one more try. First jab of the reset Fri night - back to 2.5mg, feeling great and good supression yesterday and today, that great nonchalant feeling to food, although getting up at 5:30 With toddler makes the morning so slow.. I was chuffed that I wasn't hungry for breakfast and thought I'd just wait til lunch, looked at the clock and it was only 9:30am 🤣

Mounraine · 04/05/2025 20:01

D3 for me and my appetite is back somewhat. I've also felt very cold and tired most of the day. Had two healthy meals and a weight-lifting session. Sneaky look at the scales suggest my two-week "plateau" is over.

Lonestar1988 · 04/05/2025 20:57

@wantmorenow same happened to me. I am not too worried because I used it straight away and it can be at room temperature for 30 days. If you aren’t planning on using it for a while then it could be a problem! Mine was in a cool bag eith ice that had melted abit but still kept fairly cool.

wantmorenow · 04/05/2025 22:12

Thanks all. I have chilled a bit now, was a bit wound up but am being a bit more relaxed about it now. Hopefully it will arrive Tuesday unfortunately I'm in work then. If not I will make formal complaint. In hindsight I should maybe have ordered from Asda where I could collect it from. My address often causes issues with deliveries. 🥴

Quitelikeacatslife · 04/05/2025 23:36

Hi I’ve just started yesterday on first dose of MJ 2.5 mg. I was very nervous but feel fine after 2 days, I’ve eaten v little of v healthy food, lots of water, no carbs, Greek yogurt berries chia seeds, salad chicken, roast veg and more chicken. I seem to be able to stick with that quite easily. But is that just like first few days of eating healthy /diet?
I have been aware of being hungry at tea time , not drastically un interested, will it build up? Kick in more?

PurpleSector · 30/04/2025 12:58

I am looking to order today but not sure where to go online - I’m hearing some providers have long delays or have a long/difficult process for new customers. Would welcome any experience and advice on where to go that doesn’t take too long or feel too traumatic. Happy to do the humiliating photos but just won’t want too much faffing about. Thank you!

I went online to Voy and it was very straightforward. My first photo was rejected but i just took a full length one in the mirror and that went through ok. I was supposed to get it on Tuesday this week but it arrived the next day on Friday. I injected for the first time today Sunday.

Hi everyone, just coming here to say Hello! You got this! I hope you’re ready because it will change your life and you will be a different person entirely this time next year.

I started my MJ journey end of May 2024, so it will be my one year anniversary in 3 weeks time. It has been hands down the best decision I’ve made for my health. I started with a BMI of 37, and 6 and a half stone later, my BMI is 22. I look great (if I do say so myself) and more importantly I feel great.
I haven’t had any adverse effects, it has not taken away from my life in any away - it’s only given me. I work full time, I have a toddler, I try to have a social life, I have started exercising consistently while on MJ for the first time ever. I feel strong. I feel like myself again. It’s been nothing short of amazing.

A few words of wisdom:

  • you will not lose weight every single week for months at a time - you will have a week where you maintain, you might have a week where you “gain”. Look at the bigger picture and don’t let normal fluctuations discourage you.
  • exercise is important, but nothing will have as big of an effect as eating right. As the saying goes, you can’t outrun a bad diet. You will lose weight even if you don’t exercise, but once you start losing you will naturally want to move more.
  • drink your water. Yes, water. Sure, you can have tea, juice but not instead of water. It is essential for your weight loss. Drink a minimum of 2 liters a day. Oh, and no, unless you train so hard and sweat so much you do not need electrolytes.
  • take progress photos of yourself. This is the thing that showed me my progress the most. You see the numbers on the scale change, or your measurements and it feels amazing but it’s like your brain can’t catch up. Then you see an old photo of yourself and BAM! It is SO obvious how far you’ve come.
  • protein is important as it keeps you full longer and helps with muscle loss, but fiber is even more key. Make sure to prioritize fibre-rich foods or supplements to keep you regular.
  • hair loss will happen. I’m sorry but it will, with any weight loss, especially if it’s more rapid. It’s not the MJ, it’s the stress on your body when losing weight. For me it happened around the 3 month mark, it went on for 2-3 months and then settled. It’s unpleasant but common and normal, and yes, it will grow back!
  • loose skin - as with any weight loss method, if you lose a lot, you may get some loose skin, it’s normal. Whether you do or don’t depends on your genetics mostly. Yes, you can supplement with collagen, it won’t hurt but it’s not magic. I have a little, I have places in my body where it’s a little jiggly, I can pinch it, but nothing horrific. Nothing that warrants a surgery, and honestly it’s way less offensive than all that extra weight and fat I was carrying around.

Good luck to all! You will do amazing, and reach your goals, even the ones that seem impossible.
I’m an open book, if anyone has any questions - feel free to hit me up. :)

That is such a motivating post, you look great. I’ve got a long way to go and a lot to loose, had been in denial (and wide legged trousers) and was horrified to be over 20st. I was scared of injecting, now I’m scared of being hungry. I so want this to work .

3wDavid · 05/05/2025 08:59

@Quitelikeacatslife you will get there, whatever there is for you. Trust the process. Don’t be afraid of being hungry, but when you are - eat. The goal of MJ is not to starve you, you absolutely should eat. I would actually argue that if you undereat, your weight loss is slower. I was sticking to a calorie deficit (many calculators online can help you work out what that is (based on height, weight etc). And I found that if I didn’t hit my calorie target, my weight loss was slowing down.

SilkCottonTree · 05/05/2025 09:02

@3wDavid congratulations, you are truly inspiring! I ordered MJ last night after umming and ahhing for ages. I have 3 stone to lose. Could I ask what dose you went up to and also have you managed to avoid ‘Mounjaro face’? I know being a healthy BMI is much better than having a few extra wrinkles, but if it’s possible to avoid looking older in the face at the same
time I would love to know how :) Thank you! 🙏

FreeHugZZ · 05/05/2025 09:11

Hey so I’m 34 18st 5lb bmi 40 my whole life even as a teenager at school I’ve always been big and to a point I was ok with it I was always fit-fat could walk miles and felts ok until about year ago I was diagnosed with heart problem (LVSD/LBBB) and was always out of breath couldn’t walk to the end of the street with out gasping for air I also felt heavy my ankles could feel it my knees for the first time in years so it needs going and I feel mentally ready for it as before I just did t care. I was terrified they wouldn’t approve me with my heart stuff was honest on everything brought from ASDA doctors online.

I started my first dose on Saturday night (3rd) first full day yesterday and could only eat about 400cal so I think it’s defo working 😅 I was craving grapes tho and fruit. We have a treadmill in our garage for years as I nice hanging ornaments but I’m officially making a mini gym until I start to feel better then will go to a big gym also swimming I’m looking forward to start doing that again and no one with harpoons standing on the side 😂 looking forward to this year!

3wDavid · 05/05/2025 09:18

@SilkCottonTree good luck! You will hit your goals in no time!

I went up to 7.5 mg, and I’m about to start coming down the doses and plan to come off it entirely at some point this summer.
I never quite understood “Ozempic face/ Mounjaro face” but people have been commenting I look younger, and I’d actually say the same by looking at my photos, so if anything the weight loss has taken years off me, not the opposite. I think with any weight loss, if too drastic, you risk looking gaunt. That has not happened to me, but I don’t know if that’s to do with genetics, age or what. Maybe make sure your skincare is good and get some extra collagen. :)

3wDavid · 05/05/2025 09:20

Word to the wise - even if you guys feel like you can’t eat, make sure to get your meals in. If you can’t face a meal (happens at the beginning), at least have a protein shake. You do not want to starve yourselves. I repeat, you do not want to starve.

Sia9 · 05/05/2025 09:21

@3wDavidYou look incredible. But more importantly you must feel so much better. Well done. Thanks for the inspiration

SussexLass87 · 05/05/2025 09:21

First weigh in (I've been intermittent fasting since last Monday) First jab was Saturday 2nd May.

I'm down 4lbs!
CW 16st 9lbs

Kipperandarthur · 05/05/2025 09:22

@3wDavid
What a great inspirational post, thank you for posting.
Wow just wow you look fantastic and it's really helpful and inspiring to see your photos and hear your comments.

Well done for what you have achieved. It's made me even more determined to view this as a long goal.

Mounraine · 05/05/2025 09:57

D4 and I feel dreadful - nauseous, dizzy and just generally like I'm coming down with the 'flu. Difficult to know what is the exact cause, but I'm starting to think I'll have to give up on the MJ as this is my second attempt.
