Injection day tomorrow (no4 @ 2.5) and I’ve woken up hungry today which is odd!

I have my next pen already 5mg. Those that are just taking 3.75mg, how are you doing it - with the pen? I’m not sure I want the full 5mg to be honest. But will the pen lock out early if I don’t? Not sure how it works!

Those who say they took 3.75mg are either taking a lower dose from their 5mg pen by counting clicks or are using the ‘bonus dose’ left over in the 2.5mg pen after the prescribed 4 doses. There is medicine left in the syringe that some people choose to extract with a separate needle and syringe and it often amounts to a 3.75mg dose.

Lundier · 30/04/2025 07:57

@saxonyv Congrats! And yeah, I was just thinking today that it's funny, I seem to be losing weight in the order I put it on: saddlebags first. My tummy is still big and squashy. It seems just as big as it was 20 pounds ago, to be honest.

I had a "small" waist this whole time - I have almost no fat above my natural waist (except boobs), weirdly - so I'm not getting back into any old clothes until this tummy goes. Will be ages!

I've been dealing with some vitamin deficiencies over this winter and I've just realised vitamin D is stored in fat. I must be flooded with it. I wonder if this means I should reduce my supplementation?

wordywitch · 30/04/2025 08:47

I’ve just done my ‘bonus dose’ from my 2.5 pen. I got 0.8ml out which equates to a 3.3mg dose. A nice step up on the way to 5mg, I hope, and a return to suppression. Only lost 0.2kg this week, but given I’m on my period and lost 2kg last week, I’m still relatively happy with that. A loss is a loss!

vl888 · 30/04/2025 09:02

Due my 4th 2.5mg dose tomorrow. Have my 5mg pen ready to go next week - decided to move up as I feel like the suppression is slightly wearing off.

I have lost 1 stone altogether so far - 1lb to go until I am in a new stone bracket! Although I think a lot of the initial loss will be water loss. Loss has slowed right down the past 4-5 days (barely moved), but hopefully that's just my body adjusting and the scales will start moving again 😂

Not sure if I was maybe eating TOO little calories (never thought I would ever say that sentence!) so I have been trying to force myself to eat more, but scared I go too far 😬😬

Been lucky not to have any side effects so far, so hopefully the same on 5mg.

Peasinthefreezer · 30/04/2025 09:03

I’m now on week 5 and weighed in yesterday, 0.6lbs off so a total of 10lbs & have gone down a dress size so pretty happy with that.

Decided to go up to the 5mg, took first dose yesterday late afternoon. In terms of SE feeling ok, a little nauseous and bit of a headache but nothing major that stops me from getting on with work. Felt the same after I took the first 2.5mg.

Cerberus1808 · 30/04/2025 09:07

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while but thought I'd finally come out of the shadows!!!

I started on 31st March (thought I'd join this post though as nothing started happening til April).
SW 15.1.4
CW 14.0.4 (really want to get back into the 13s next week...)
TW initially 12 stone but want to go lower if possible.

Jab on a Monday night and weigh on a Tuesday morning, current loss is 1st1lb after 5 jabs (1st pen plus the golden dose). Staying on 2.5mg for the time being, then will see how i get on in a couple of weeks. Currently not calorie counting as I want to make this sustainable for me long term, CC just messes with my head after a while and I end up binging, so I just need to work on reducing portions and reducing the mindless eating.

How long does everyone's jabs take to kick back in? I jab about 7pm on a Monday but the last few weeks its taken til Wednesday morning to kick back in, yesterday I had major munchies and kept grazing. But when it does kick in, I do feel a lot less snacky... :)
Going to see how I get on over the next 2 weeks then make the decision as to whether to go up to 5mg or order another 2.5mg.

Thanks. Yes planning to take the extra dose next week then start my new pen. Will look at the clicks!

SquishyGloopyBum · 30/04/2025 09:24

fox919 · 30/04/2025 07:35

You have to count the clicks to get 3.75. Do double check elsewhere just to be certain (I’m pretty sure you could confirm just by googling), but I believe a full dose is 60 clicks, so on a 5mg pen 60 clicks is 5mg, 30 clicks would be 2.5, 45 clicks would be 3.75

Thank you this is useful! (Wasn’t talking about the extra dose so appreciate this!)

Lundier · 30/04/2025 09:31

Welcome @Cerberus1808 !

I'm also not calorie counting. I am really a bit afraid of getting obsessed with it all which feels like a risk to me. I get obsessed with things and it can get unhealthy. I am better off obsessing over some obscure system optimisation at work, which will bring me cash and prizes instead of an eating disorder.

So no weighing food or counting calories. I'm just eating whatever I feel like, when I feel like it. And that can include junk food and wine if that's where my body goes, it's just not going there very often. I'm weighing myself too much already, because Juniper sent me these scales and there's an app with a chart. Absolute catnip to me! An app! A chart! I might need to delete it.

wordywitch · 30/04/2025 10:43

I’m the same @Lundier not counting or measuring as I know where that leads. Been there, done that, got all the t-shirts!

yeah I'm guilty of over weighing too lol, not daily but I'll get to a couple of days before "weigh in day" and do a sneaky one to see where I am.
Due on next week so not hopeful for much if anything loss wise.

Glad to know I'm not the only one not calorie counting. A friend started the week after me and is religiously calorie counting. I'm happy for her that she's able to do that, but as someone who's been on/off dieting for nearly 25 years I know that's not what I want to do. I used myfitnesspal before my wedding and would be weighing a 3 inch chunk of cucumber to see how many calories... For me thats just not a healthy or sustainable way to live. I've decided I'd rather be fat and be able to eat normally than be skinny. Just eating as normal at the mo (had weetos for breakfast!) but just less of it, and a hell of a lot less dairy milk (still having some but not reverted back to my entire sharing bar in one go habit like before - quite yet lol)

RhaenysRocks · 30/04/2025 11:14

Another one not CC or tracking macros. I know I'll get fed up of I do that so I just make sure everything I have is low sugar, high protein a d not much of it. I'm getting good suppression and not eating probably more than 1000 a day but I've stalled this week (wk5) on seeing any difference on the scales. Not going to stop though..aside from the cost this has definitely been the easiest way to not eat salty snacks and drink.

fox919 · 30/04/2025 11:46

I‘m not keen on calorie counting either, and honestly most of the time I absolutely cannot be arsed with tracking and weighing everything! But I am doing it at the moment because I do find that I massively underestimate how many calories are in things/portions so trying to give myself a bit of training in it to help me going forwards

Doidontimmm · 30/04/2025 12:19

Hi, week 5 day 4 for me. I took a golden dose last Friday around 3.75ml. Suppression been good this week so although I ordered a 5ml I’m going to stick with 3.75. Just need to figure out how that working using up all of the pen!

I’m also not calorie counting either but I’m not because I know I won’t stick to it id do it for a day and then stop, I’m working on cutting down portion size and making healthier choices, I just had salad with a boiled egg and a couple of seafood sticks for lunch and I’m satisfied now!! I seem to be eating twice a day (lunch and dinner) and sometimes a small breakfast but seem to be doing ok!!
I had 5mg on my last jab not sure if the suppression is a bit too much for me but il see how I go!!

W4 D7 - went to do golden dose and try to do 3.75 as a step up to 5 and only got 0.7ml from the pen so I binned that idea and went straight to the first dose of my 5ml pen instead

Heading to Bed soon and fingers crossed there’s no additional SE!

think it was time to step up from 2.5 as found today particularly hungry and less “full” than I usually find. Hoping I can stick at 5 until goal however.

How are you feeling…I’m doing same tonight - my syringe is coming this afternoon!

Beachbabes · 30/04/2025 14:06

Hi everyone, it has probably been mentioned previously but there are so many posts! What were your side effects going from 2.5 to 5ml? I have hardly any side effects with 2.5, none really and going by my dates I will on holiday if I go to 5ml on my next pen. I don't want to miss a dose but I also don't want to be sick on my hols!! I am only W1D5 but I kinda feel hunger creeping in today and I don't want to go another month on 2.5ml if necessary.

PhantomErik · 30/04/2025 14:21

I took my first 5mg dose on Sunday evening, fine Monday, a bit tired on Tuesday & struggled to eat much but fine today, good suppression but have eaten small lunch.

I've done 4 weeks of 2.5mg & went straight to 5mg on the 5th week. So far so good & a total loss of 11lbs, slightly slow but steady.

MrsJJ84 · 30/04/2025 15:08

Anyone advise about taking Mounjaro on period ? I suffer every month and due on and due to take second jab tomorrow. No side effects last month but don’t coincide with my period . Don’t want to double chances of feeling shit!!

Wonderfulstuff · 30/04/2025 15:12

I'm not calorie counting either. I might change that approach further down the line but I'm such an all or nothing person that it makes me far too obsessed and ultimately just leads to me being unhappy.

My jab night is meant to be Tuesday but due to being totally knackered last night I fell asleep across the bed with all the lights on at about 9:30. Woke up at around 2am with DH sleeping on the sofa and could not be arsed with the whole faff of jabbing then. So went back to sleep. Will jab tonight but today I am HUNGRY. Interestingly though still no interest in chocolate, crisps etc which previously I would have been all over.

Have my appointment to get my next pen tomorrow. Think I'm going to do another 2.5ml and see how I go. I'm on holiday in half term and want to be supressed but still able to enjoy myself (and not be dealing with side effects) so think it makes sense to stick on 2.5ml. Could talk myself out of it before then though!

So end of week 3, and I'm 15lb down in total.

Feeling awful today but unsure whether it’s MJ side effects or a bug…

cracking headache, stomach cramps and awful nausea. Light headed.
W3 D2 and had virtually no issues so far.

I would try some electrolytes- or make a cup of squash and add in a bit of salt - that often makes me a feel loads better

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 30/04/2025 15:20

Lardybumbum · 29/04/2025 15:33

Hello! Just started MJ 10days ago so on my 2nd 2.5mg dose this week. Week one I had digestive discomfort but not much else. Weeks 2 slight nausea here and there, mostly when I hadn’t eaten in a while and a bit of a dicky tummy today. I’m a baby when it comes to feeling sick so I’m probably over exaggerating cos it really isn’t too bad but I am a bit scared to fart right now.

I've lost 8lb but it seems to fluctuate wildly day to day which confuses me (and I know I shouldn’t weigh daily but I’m curious to see what happens day to day from a hormonal pov too cos perimenopause is kicking my butt!)

I'm terrified of the side effects getting bad especially when dosing up and while I don’t have much food noise suppression yet, I do recognise feeling full which is completely new to me in adulthood. I still feel cravings but I can’t be bothered to see them through or just a small taste suffices. Is this how normal eaters feel?

has anyone who had nausea and digestive issues at 2.5 managed to dose up without them getting worse?

Edited

Yes, I found that any mini side-effects improved, the higher the dose I got to.

I'm actually on 15mg now and have no side-effects at all.

If you're feeling sick, take cyclizine. You can get it on Ebay.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 30/04/2025 15:37

@WonderfulstuffI’m also sticking with 2.5 as I don’t want to become completely reliant on it. As it is, at 2.5 I feel hungry/snacky 🤨 and have to think about whether I really need anything. Have a glass of water and then reconsider. The meds are making me feel full quicker which is v helpful to not overeating (assuming I can swerve snacking). Also less craving for a cold glass of vino which also helps.

If I can be more mindful about all of it then hopefully coming off it will be less problematic.

That all makes sense to me but might all be mental gymnastics 🤣

Musermum · 30/04/2025 15:55

I'm not counting calories either, just eating less and making better choices. Just out of Marks and amazed myself by not wanting to buy the usual goodies... Headed for the protein. Also, got checked out by the GP (period back) and nothing weird but being referred for a gynae scan just in case. Good convo with him about WLI and how weightloss can absolutely have an effect on hormones (hence weird cycles etc) and inflammation (my 2 year painful knee is feeling so much better when steroids and physio had minimal effect. He said the meds are amazing and keep going!
