@fox919 , this is my dilemma too.
2.5mg gave me some suppression and i found making healthy choices easier. It also gave me constipation.
Have a 5mg pen in the fridge but unsure I want to take 5? Still trying to decide what to do for the best.
Like you, I do not want to rush up the doses and then find I have nowhere left to go....

I’ve moved from 2.5 to 3.75 and to be honest I can’t tell the difference so I think pen no.3 I will move to 5ml.

It’s tricky isn’t it! I’ve just really struggled the last couple of weeks and want to get back to that peaceful state I had in weeks 2 and 3. Also, my scales started moving backwards (I think it may have been hormone related), it’s come back down now, but I’ve basically stayed the same over the last couple of weeks and it’s quite demotivating y’know. Much as I’d like to see them, I don’t need the big losses but do need to see the scale moving in the right direction at least.. otherwise it’s a pretty expensive way to just maintain my weight!

I’ve found it really good for food noise, suppression has been ok but not fantastic- I still want to eat, get hungry and have no issues finishing meals. I’m tracking calories so using willpower too. I’m still losing on average 2lbs a week which I’m very happy with, just want a little more suppression.

@Doidontimmmsee food noise is my biggest challenge. How’s the food noise on 3.75, compared to your food noise in your last week of 2.5? Has your food noise been really reduced all the way through since starting? We’re all different of course, just trying to find the similarities to work with 😊 thanks

I would say it’s the exact same. It’s that that’s helping me. Before taking the jabs I thought all day long about food, snacks, when I could next sneak in chocolate and now I just don’t! I’ve had 3 Freddos and a mini Easter egg in 6 weeks compared to an amount I’d be too ashamed to admit!!

I'm going to 3.75 from my 5mg pen this week. I'm not really loosing on 2.5mg this last week. I don't want to rush to go up either really but I also don't want to be on in for years. I was hoping I'd loose what I wanted within a year

Morning. We went out for a meal last night with friends and I just need to get so much better at this! I just cannot eat a main course sized meal, I was painfully full after just a few mouthfuls and even though I made a healthy choice, I wasted so much of it which I really hate.

I have a few nights out in the coming weeks and I think perhaps the thing to do is order a starter and side salad going forward.

I’ve started fast 800 after recommendations on here so I can genuinely use that as a reason when questioned. And I will be questioned because my friends know I love my food!

Just been for a run with the doggies and my daughter on her pony before the sun gets too hot. I’m now back to the size I was in 2021 so have a few more summery things starting to fit!

I know that my friend who has been on it for a while told me to order starters as a main course when I get to that stage

See I’ve struggled more with food noise these last couple of weeks, so I wonder if 3.75 won’t be enough 🤔 I guess it’s just impossible to know without trying!

I’d just try @fox919 - I’m sticking out this pen on 3.75 and will move to 5 on the next one. You could do 2 weeks at 3.75 and if no luck 2 at 5 then use the last 2.5 plus bonus dose to do another 5.

W4D4 and the constipation is real!! Am on day 3 of no poo despite taking dulcolax before bed last night. Am hopeful something will move this morning…..
Suppression waning this week so shall aim to move to 5 next week, provided I get this constipation sorted!
Need to decide next week whether to try and extract the extra dose. I bought the needles but am a clumsy mare so don’t feel entirely confident ….

Dried apricots and peppermint tea will sort you right out. This very elegant solution was recommended to me by my surgeon to avoid post anasthetic constipation.

I put on a pound this week which is a little disappointing. I took 3.75mg for my 4th dose and my first 5mg dose on Thursday.

I definitely haven’t drunk nearly enough fluid, but it’s near impossible when I’m at work.

Felt a little dizzy again yesterday morning and had only one or two episodes of constipation which is surprising for me as I normally have the other issue with my IBD.

Quoting myself, sorry, but now down another 3lb after that one lb blip. I drank loads and loads of water/squash. Total loss 17 lbs, starting weight 260lbs, this is week 5 day 3.

Previously, after working hard and still putting on a pound, I’d have probably fallen off the wagon and not got on again.

Reading everyone’s posts in our cohort and the previous ones, has highlighted that I should trust the process and weight fluctuations will happen.

Weigh in and jab day for me today. Only down 0.6lb this week (W4 on 2.5mg) but I’m not too upset by that. We had a meal out last night and I had a couple of glasses of wine, I was still fairly sensible but I know it will have affected the scales short-term. Will be a bit disappointed if it doesn’t catch up next week though! I’m still getting decent effects on food noise but not so much suppression. That suits me though as my downfall is snacking so if that’s not an issue I can usually manage to reduce calories from meals and still enjoy what I have. Also no real side effects to speak of. Like others I’m not sure whether to move up next week, I have a 5mg pen to start next but we go away for a few days straight after I’m due to jab so I might be better sticking to 2.5mg for another week in case it disrupts me. Will need to see how I get on this week I think.

i’ve just taken the extra dose to finish my 2.5mg pen - was surprised how easy it was, I think I was imagining a great big cartoon-style hypodermic so was a bit surprised by how tiny the needle was when I unwrapped the syringes I’d bought 🤣.

I didn’t read a bad word about it tbh apart from some people saying that reducing it a bit actually increased suppression. This gave me hope. Remember 2.5 isn't supposed to be a therapeutic dose anyway - I would see how you go with the 5. As you say you won’t know until you try x

I was going to do 3.75 but just went for the 5 in the end (mainly because I didn't want to faff around with the clicks) but I don't regret going for 5 the suppression and lack of food noise has been excellent.

Agree with this. I had less SE on 5mg - my understanding is that 2.5mg is not therapeutic but to ease you body into tolerating the hopefully 'mild and transient' SE.......though I am considering saying on 5mg for another pen as I am doing so well.

Yes I think that this is the critical bit for me. With MJ when there is a blip day you are not emotionally thrown into despair and sagotage - you just very easily get back on it. KOKO.

My husband is W1 D3 and has gone to lie down with a headache, tiredness and queazy tummy. He felt like this yesterday too. Apart from a bit of an intermittent headache in the first couple of days, I haven’t suffered with SE. Could those who have tell me if the more severe SE settled and if so, how long did it take. He is feeling pretty rough and sorry for himself.

@fox919 I took 3.75 for my 4th dose. After the first week, I got little suppression from 2.5. 3.75 was better. I am now W5 D3 on 5ml and it’s better still.

Wk7 weigh in & injection day & I've now lost a stone!

I am absolutely delighted about it & was trying to decide if I should go up to 7.5mg for my next pen but think I'll order another 5mg & see how the next month goes.

TW don't know yet.

It's taken 4 x 2.5mg & 2 x 5mg to lose 1 stone 😊

No real side effects other than a bit tired the day after the injection, thirsty with dry mouth & dry skin. Must drink more!
