Was that your first 5mg?

Yes it is 😊

MJafterWLS · 06/05/2025 15:08

Stepped on the scale this morning and I’m now in the 13 stone bracket Grin 13st 13.8lbs so only just(!!!) - but I’ll take it! That means I’ve lost 3.4lbs since Friday… I can’t quite work out how that has happened but I guess I was on my feet for most of the weekend. Due my period at the end of the week so expecting to maintain or fluctuate a bit for the rest of this week.

SaddlebagSal · 06/05/2025 15:11

I used my second pen (5mg) last night, did 45 clicks and thus a 3.75mg dose. No significant increase in SE so far. Appetite suppression is greater today.

Yesterday I polished off a large multi pack of Milky Way bars. Something I’ve done regularly (hence the enormous bum), and even as I was eating them, part of my brain was asking me “why are you doing this? You’re not hungry. You’re not craving sugar. You’re not even enjoying them at all”. In fact, my body was telling me that it actively didn’t want any more food, and I felt sicky for the rest of the day, unsurprisingly.

There’s obviously some psychological factor going on where my brain is used to getting “something” from a chocolate/sugar binge, and is still seeking that “something” even though physically I’m not feeling it. If I can isolate what that is and work on fixing it then maybe I’ll have gone a long way to cracking maintenance.

With my second pen I’m also switching up from eating what I fancy (albeit smaller portions) to actively making healthier choices and using a bit of willpower. DH is on board and we’ve been discussing how to approach our evening meal, as we usually eat the same thing/same size portions.

Nsv - I’ve had 2 comments about losing weight in the last week 😃

What did you say? Did you give a reason? 😊 I’m saying I e started running again 😎

IncessantNameChanger · 06/05/2025 15:17

I did 2.5mg from my first dose of my 5mg pen. Next week I'm going to do 3.75mg

Raffles134 · 06/05/2025 16:05

Incognitoburrito88 · 06/05/2025 14:59

Glad it helped! I’m quite good at tracking mine and I have a cycle that’s like clockwork so it is easy to see if there are trends around it. I do wonder if there is some sort of hormonal interaction going on with the WLI in the week before our periods - just noticed a lot of people talking about PMT symptoms.

It was probably a typo but just checking that you know if you take 0.7 ml from a 5mg pen you will be taking 5.8 mg…. A full dose is always 0.6 ml regardless of the strength of the pen….

Yes wasn’t thinking about that. Definitely don’t want 0.70ml from the 5mg pen! 😳🤣
So guess I’ll need 0.35! Thanks for the reminder!

fox919 · 06/05/2025 16:07

Suppression non exist for me the last couple of days, and lots of food noise :( I’m w4d5 today and wondering whether to try and take my bonus dose early (even though I am very nervous about the process of getting it out - worried I’ll mess it up!)

fox919 · 06/05/2025 16:09

Also nothing to do with being due on for me, I had my period a couple of weeks ago. According to my app I’ve just ovulated so not sure if it’s possible that’s got anything to do with it

fox919 · 06/05/2025 16:39

Extracted with needle. Only got 0.65 out unfortunately (was hoping to get a higher dose). However, there’s some tiny air bubbles that will not move to the top 😩 do I absolutely have to get rid of them before I can inject it??

QS90 · 06/05/2025 16:46

@fox919 did you try flicking the syringe gently (whilst needle pointing up)?

OP posts:
fox919 · 06/05/2025 16:57

I did @QS90they just would not go, but googled and said small bubbles should be fine as it’s not into a vein so I’ve done it. However I really mucked up the whole thing really! Forgot to prime, realised halfway through injecting and panicked and pulled it out, so then had to inject again to get the rest of the dose. I have heath anxiety as well so I’m freaking out a bit! Dp has comforted me, and I’m going to try and distract myself until the anxiety lessens. Hopefully I’ll do a better job of it next time

QS90 · 06/05/2025 17:43

@fox919 It will be absolutely fine. Think if you took two half doses of something - 1 paracetamol and then another five minutes later. The dose is the same :) Just annoying to have to inject yourself twice.

With air bubbles, you would definitely have known by now if there was an issue x

A quick 5mg update - I jabbed yesterday morning, so far I’m feeling fine. It’s 12.50 and I’m only just starting to feel hungry. Just had a couple of protein muffins and that’s plenty,

That’s great! I’m in my first week of 5mg and have found the suppression to be relatively poor.

Potato1234 · 06/05/2025 18:35

Well done to everyone on their losses. I’m down 10kg which is just crazy. I’m really, really struggling with thinking about what to eat. First few weeks was doing well and eating healthy choices and lots of salads etc. now I just don’t fancy anything, even when I’m hungry I can’t think of anything - when I look in the fridge I feel repulsed by everything. I’ve basically been forcing myself to have yoghurts and nuts everytime I feel hungry because they’re easy to get down - definitely can’t face a proper meal, not even a salad. I can’t continue like this as it’s affecting my mood and energy levels, hoping it’s a blip

Squiffy01 · 06/05/2025 19:23

Have just had to have a stern word with myself.
Jab day is Thursday and I had convinced myself I needed to do it tonight instead but have not. I don’t want to start being silly with it as that isn’t healthy or affordable.

Ofcoursehesthefkingfarmer · 06/05/2025 21:01

MiamiMimi · 05/05/2025 17:59

A bit of both really, he wasn’t keen on me starting originally having reservations about the possible health risks, the money is a factor too although lesser so, another of his worries is me getting carried away and taking it too far, which isn’t unwarranted to be fair to him as I’m quite extreme in nature if that makes sense 😂🙈

My husband feels the same - I do have a bit of an addictive personality!

W6D7 here and I am sick as a dog. Convinced myself I was starving earlier after just having fruit all day so I inhaled a small portion of carbonara and two hours later I’m crippled with heartburn and indigestion type pain.

hotshota · 06/05/2025 21:02

W5 D7 checking in - just did my second 5 jab.

so far happy with the decision to go up a dose from 2.5. And so far no additional SE then experienced already.

im doing it different so far - im not stepping on a scale until i am able to fit into one of my smaller sized clothes.

reason being is that when i used to weigh weekly i ended up obsessing over every little thing. Thinking constantly about the weight and why it wasn’t going down and then would then make unhelpful choices on restricting myself on food etc

so this time im going by stage gates where once I hit a smaller piece of clothing - I’ll weigh.

I know this is weird to many but I struggled mentally with weighing and seeing the numbers etc and found it was unhealthy for me
i Am keen on getting to a healthy weight asap though as i want to get off the jabs sooner rather than later and “enjoy” food in a reasonable manner again.

StrikeForever · 06/05/2025 21:07

@hotshota I understand. I don’t count calories for the same reason.

QS90 · 06/05/2025 21:16

@hotshota There's no wrong or right way. It's not weird at all, if it works for you :)

Bellsize · 06/05/2025 21:26

Well I wen and treated myself to a pair of size 12 magic jeans from M&S and a size 12 dress from Sainsburys - both far too tight to wear out but I can get into them and will enjoy trying them on over the next month until they fit propertly...

GieYerselPeace · 06/05/2025 21:41

Week 7 Day 3. I have reached a stone loss... 1 stone 1lb to be exact. Apparently I've lost the weight of a standard microwave!

Incognitoburrito88 · 06/05/2025 22:35

@hotshota i think that’s a great idea. I’m not counting calories because I get obsessed but I am still weighing daily. I don’t get as stressed out with the daily weights as I do with weekly but it does still affect my mindset. You have to do whatever works for you.

SeaDippingandLattes · 07/05/2025 06:28

fucking hell - been up all night with explosive diarrhoea and the most horrendous explosive burps - 😬 did anyone else have this and how long did it last? Really worried I have 9 hours of travel tomo on top of an 8 hour day and don’t know if I’ll be able to do it now (and I’m self employed). Supposed to be working today but at least it’s not 45 mins away although right now can’t imagine leaving the house - please tell me this gets better - thank fuck I only took 3.75

QS90 · 07/05/2025 06:43

Sorry @SeaDippingandLattes 😬 Immodium? If you're sure it's not a bug? Hope you're feeling better soon.

OP posts:
SeaDippingandLattes · 07/05/2025 07:11

Ah I hope it’s not a bug - it’s coincided with the start of awful sulphur burps (which I didn’t have before) and my kids are all ok atm. Absolutely grim 🥸
