I took my third jag today and with the first two I felt suppression and fullness right away but today I’ve still felt Hunger and while I’m not obsessing over food I’m also not feeling full when I eat like I did on Thursday/friday and I have a hankering for something sweet (that I probably would struggle to stop eating if I gave in but it also won’t go away unless I do give in.

I’m unsure if perhaps my body is more used
to the medicine and it will take a while into the week for it to work or if it’s not going to work until I up my dose to 5mg in 2 weeks. I won’t pretend I’m not Missing feeling constipated all the time today.

Is it not a bit quick that the suppression ended overnight and with the third jab it’s gone completely??

lovechocolate · 03/05/2025 18:30

@StrikeForever its how to get the golden dose out of the existing needle 😀

PinkCatInATree · 03/05/2025 19:00

Wk3 Day 4
Really heavy tummy today ...
Am a bit anxious about the number of you post-menopause having bleeds. I really can not face falling into that hell-hole again.

WinterOnItsWayOut · 03/05/2025 19:03

Anyone not losing, I’d say ‘water, water, water…’. I’ve done low carb many times and it really makes a difference. Also probably applies to those who are lacking suppression!

StrikeForever · 03/05/2025 19:50

SausageRoll90 · 03/05/2025 17:40

Yeah I've been really fatigued today and feeling bloated too and I also did 3.75mg yesterday. I'm glad I've taken an in-between step but I will still take the full 5mg next week lol. Glutton for punishment maybe haha

That’s my plan too.

SausageRoll90 · 03/05/2025 20:20

I'm pleased to report that suppression has been high today after the 3.75mg so I'm hopeful for the 5mg next week 🙌🏻

I agree with you there @WinterOnItsWayOut about the water. I've definitely not drunk enough some days and I think it really makes a difference with the bloated feeling but also how much suppression I'm having. If I'm feeling hungry I'll have a drink 1st and usually that's all I need.

I've been reflecting on my 1st week Vs weeks 2&3 and I think the main difference is the quality of my food. Calorie wise I've eaten within the same limits but I've relied much more of quick an easy things and ready made salads or oven food simply because I couldn't think of what to have to buy and prep. This week I'm going to change it up and focus on more f&v, lean protein and limit my carbs a bit because I definitely have eaten some biscuits and bits of chocolate these last 2 weeks were as in week 1 I definitely didn't. I'll be like a mini experiment

Newmum110 · 03/05/2025 20:21

W4 D3, this week I used my golden dose to move up to 5mg & the difference is unbearable, I now have the suppression that others were talking about at the start. No SEs feeling great, could go the whole day without thinking about or wanting food. Honestly it's a revelation!!!!!!

Cerberus1808 · 03/05/2025 20:27

Has anyone noticed changes in cravings and appetite just before your period?

NotsosunnyShropshire · 03/05/2025 20:40

Bonus side effect is my cellulite on my butt and thighs has drastically improved.

MissCreative · 03/05/2025 21:04

GRCP · 03/05/2025 09:13

Conundrum of the day - dare I buy something in a size 12??? I’m 8lbs down but still a 14…

Yes!!!

Cerberus1808 · 03/05/2025 20:27

Has anyone noticed changes in cravings and appetite just before your period?

First time on period since taking mounjaro. Day 1 and I’ve eaten a lot of junk food. I hadn’t touched crisps or chocolates for 5 weeks till today. I hadn’t wanted to or been tempted by junk until today and then it just hit me. Hopefully I’ll be back to normal tomorrow

QS90 · 03/05/2025 23:21

Due my 2nd jab of 5mg tomorrow. Have definitely had much less suppression today, and the calories I'm told would "maintain" my weight, rather than lose any. Am happily sated at this many calories though, so I suppose it's good I wasn't tempted for more. Although also a trickier day re tiredness and stress, so maybe that played into it too.

Either way, am looking forward to my jab tomorrow, and seeing the losses carry on.

Took my first 5mg yesterday- no SE so far… For anyone who has started their 5mg already, are you noticing an increased weight loss each week? Or the same as on 2.5mg? I’ve been reading different articles and they don’t give the same message. Thanks in advance.

Pepperwaggytail · 04/05/2025 08:51

It’s great that we are all at the same point. I think I’m going to move from 3.75 to 5.0 tomorrow. Hardly lost anything this week. Now wishing I’d taken measurements as I’m exercising loads and hoping I’ve put on muscle. I’m definitely fitting my clothes better, but feel like I need more “proof”.
Im overthinking as usual! 😵‍💫

Mounjarogirl25 · 04/05/2025 09:14

6th jab last night, went up from 2.5 to 3.75, plan to do 3.75 for two weeks before moving up to 5.

1 stone 4lb lost so far, 3 more lbs until I'm down to the next stone bracket so hope to get there next weigh in 🤞

Lundier · 04/05/2025 09:20

I haven't lost any weight this week. I was reflecting on this and it's helped me understand my body a bit more. I think I store around 600g of glycogen, which is something like 2.4kg / 5-6 pounds in weight once bound. That's about 2400 calories of energy, higher than my basal metabolic rate of just under 1500, so I should expect my body to fluctuate by around 2.4kg / 6lb depending on how many carbs I've eaten within the last two days.

Therefore if I'm concerned entirely with my adipocytes, which I think I am as that is the metabolic problem, I should always actually be mentally either adding or subtracting that 2.4kg depending on what I've eaten, and not just yesterday, but over a few days. Comparing to last week, I was probably very low in glycogen when I weighed then. In the last two days I've had a bottle of wine and two mars bars! 😂 So it's not surprising I've lost no weight on the scale, even though over the week I've likely burned fat/ reduced adiposity.

In order to get that rapid weight loss experience of W1, I could eat no carbs for 3 days and then weigh. Another way to think of this is to say that I probably want to eventually aim for about 16-18kg total of body fat of which 2.4kg is fast access energy. At the moment I'm likely carrying around about 29kg of fat, so I have 13kg excess to burn, or around 100,000 calories. If I ate nothing (not my plan!) this would take just over two months to use up. Everything I eat extends this period by roughly 20%, if I estimate 300 calories per meal.

1 meal/day = 83 days (+17 days)
2 meals/day = 111 days (+44 days)
3 meals/day = 167 days (+100 days)
4 meals/day = 333 days (+267 days)

So it looks like increasing my basal metabolic rate is really worth it. If I also walk up my steep hill every day, I can save significant time (and money)

On 1 meal/day walking saves 25 days = 29% faster
On 2 meals/day walking saves 40 days = 36% faster
On 3 meals/day walking saves 76 days = 46% faster
On 4 meals/day walking saves 208 days = 63% faster

Looks like I can do this within 91 and 125 days eating the 3-4 meals a day I've felt satisfied on so far, if I just make sure to walk up my hill, which I'm happy to do as it's really nice. However I've also just realised this is a sort of embarassing real time demonstration of why I shouldn't calorie count, for sanity... 😳

WinterOnItsWayOut · 04/05/2025 09:27

Just a reminder!!

April 2025 Monjourno Starters - Thread 3!
TheHappyBug · 04/05/2025 09:42

W3D6 for me and only 1lb down this week, it is the week before my period though and I usually gain upto 5lbs so I am still calling that a win. 9lb so far.

Is anyone else really cold? Even though it’s been lovely weather I have had my jumper on because it’s freezing!

Uninvitedleaf · 04/05/2025 10:46

W4D1 check in from me just after 4th jab:
SW 13st 9.4
CW 13st 3.6 (-2lb this week)
Total loss 5.8lb
GW 11stone

I am astounded by how much I am enjoying this.

Was really worried before starting that I’d lose my love of food as I get a lot of pleasure from planning meals and cooking and that’s what put me off starting. It’s made me realise my diet’s actually not that bad, just let down by snacks, ‘treats’, and large portions.

Very happy with 2lb/week loss, and prepared to be here for quite a few months. Hoping by then that thinking “actually I don’t want cake” will
be the norm even without MJ rather than an internal argument with myself!

Planning to try to do bonus dose next week at 2.5mg again and then I have a 5mg pen here ready to use next. Not sure if I will step up the dose or not but, as others have said, I’d like to have the option if I feel I need it.

Watching those ahead of me with interest to see how you get on with choice to increase dose or not!

Squiffy01 · 04/05/2025 10:46

@Lundier I did not understand one bit of that 🤣. But understand your last bit, I do not calorie count currently for sanity. I might have to again in the future but right now I’m not and I’m enjoying not getting obsessed.

I went to pizza express yesterday for lunch. Shared a portion of dough balls with my husband and shared a pizza with my husband 😱😱
I’m not sure I could have finished a whole pizza (which is why I asked him to share with me) but I definitely could have fit more in but I just didn’t want to 🤷🏻‍♀️. No pudding for me and everyone else had some. Didn’t feel sad about this or like I was missing out.

I worry that since I have had that I won’t lose anything this week but we will just have to see.

How did you do the 3.75?

Uninvitedleaf · 04/05/2025 10:56

@Squiffy01 exactly how I’m feeling i.e. that was lovely but I don’t want any more and/or just don’t fancy that bit of cake or whatever. It means I am enjoying what I have as I know I don’t have to “resist the naughty stuff” which just makes me obsessed and miserable. It’s calories over the week that matter so I am sure a bit of pizza won’t make that much difference overall. And if it does on the scales in the short term remember we’re in this for a lifetime change, you can’t spend the rest of your life worrying about eating pizza with friends - it will balance out next week!

WinterOnItsWayOut · 03/05/2025 12:48

Re weight trends - here is mine over 11 years 🙈. I keep gaining and losing the same 2 stone……
Really need to work out how to keep it stable post MJ! This shows an average of 11.9 and currently 11.11 so once I go below 11.9 that will be ‘below average’ which will feel good 👍

Which app do you use? I’m currently using a free app to track but it’s a bit rubbish

fox919 · 04/05/2025 12:00

Ugh, scales say a gain of 1lb atm. I know I can fluctuate quite a bit so I’m not feeling awful about it, but it’s always frustrating. I’ve also had a fair bit of alcohol over the w/e as it’s been dp’s birthday so probably just that. We had Chinese last night as well, really enjoyed it but didn’t finish it all and served myself a bit less than I normally would. And much like others have said, it’s so so refreshing and wonderful to have these blips and not feel like I’ve fallen off the wagon and just give up ❤️

I see a lot of people saying about being able to stop eating treats when they’ve had enough. I’m not finding that personally, if I have some chocolate I will still eat it all. But just hardly have the compulsion to have it in the first place which is wonderful. I do wish I still didn’t feel
compelled to eat it all though!

JMSA · 04/05/2025 12:23

Hi everyone! I hope I’m on the right thread and that someone might recognise my name from the last one 😂
Hope you’re all doing ok and having a nice weekend.
I started the 5mg pen on Thursday evening. No side effects at all, but I’m rather underwhelmed by the appetite suppression.
I have heard so many people say that 5mg did nothing for them, but 7.5 had the magic touch. So here’s hoping!
My losses are coming in at 2lbs per week. So it’s ok but nothing to write home about. I’m not sure I’ll be a long-term MJ user. It’s my effort and willpower doing all the work.
