New thread for all of us.

Thank you for allowing me to rant, share our ups and downs. Our group blows my mind of how we are so supportive of each other.

I’m counting clicks for the first time too but not been doing golden doses

on 7.5 mg pen
40 clicks = 5mg
50 clicks = 6.25 mg
60 clicks = full dose / 7.5 mg

in one pen there is 240 clicks (without golden dose) so calculate based on that

I’m planing 2x40 ,2x50, 1x 60 =240 so 5 jabs instead of 4x60 (without golden doses)

Edited

@Bipaloss ahhhh I see....Thanks for this.
I didn't know that a pen would allow you to do up to 5 doses, (or more as long as you dont go over the 240 clicks). I assumed that after 4 doses regardless of the amount administered that it 'stopped working'.
Good to know, think I'll follow something similar to your plan and try and avoid SE! 🤞

TheBossOfMe · 06/05/2025 17:59

@TheSpoonyNavyReader My nipples as well 😂

Having had very few SEs on a lower dose, I'm floored at how nauseous I feel on 7.5mg, but am hoping its just because I pulled dose forward so have too much in my system. If next week post jab is like this, then I think I'll be counting clicks for a slightly lower dose the week after. I absolutely hate feeling sick.

Have tried to eat/drink - had a bowl of yoghurt with seeds, some kefir with cucumber, cumin and salt, and a boiled egg. The thought of making dinner isn't appealing - I might just have something like cheese on toast.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 06/05/2025 18:09

It’s DHs birthday today so he had the day off work and we went out for lunch. I had a Pepsi Max and I think it’s kickstarted the dreaded sulphur burps 🤢 not had a problem at all until I started drinking the Pepsi! I’m sipping a peppermint tea as we speak, hopefully it helps.

Overjiggly · 06/05/2025 18:37

@needtolose70lb that's an amazing loss so far well done 👏

SmallSoupcon · 06/05/2025 18:55

Weigh day today. Only lost 1lb, but that's following another spell of diarrhoea, so probably a lot of water retention. It's been 8 days since my last 5mg jab, I felt my body needed a bit of respite from the side effects. Having said that, I'll probably take it tomorrow as I've been very hungry today. I ate 3 whole rich tea biscuits in one sitting 😂 binge eating looks different these days!

yikesanotherbooboo · 06/05/2025 19:28

Week 2 of 7.5 for me and for the first time I have felt full after dinner. I’ve had no nasty side effects and, sadly, am still drinking more alcohol than I would like . I haven’t been tempted to snack and am slowly losing weight.
SW 84 kg
CW 75.8
GW ? In the mid sixties I think… I can’t think beyond that.
i have just had a week off but in general I have a very busy home and work life and the one thing I need to tackle is finding time to exercise . I am so impressed by all of you keeping at the exercise and losing loads of weight keep at it.

I’m with you on the drinking the urge to drink was gone first two weeks but since then the daily glass still lingers. But the days I drink has now reduced and only allow myself a drink 3 days a week, plus the amount I manage to have has massively reduced . As a result I now drink half of what I used to which a good step in the right direction.

just like you my snacking is gone , and I’m a snacker. Much more aware of what I eat when and how much.

your weight loss is really good so just keep going

I go for Zumba once a week but that is becoming more of a struggle the more I loose , my body is not reacting to excersize the same way as before. I’m taking it slow for now and as I get closer to goal weight I will start more gym going such as weight lifting once or twice a week as like you I have busy work/home life

TheBossOfMe · 06/05/2025 22:24

Feeling much less nauseous and managed some cheese on toast and a bowl of salad for dinner. Freezing cold but I’ve got a hot water bottle warming my bed up and looking forward to a really good sleep tonight. Hopefully!

TheBossOfMe · 06/05/2025 22:34

@yikesanotherbooboo - I get up 45 mins earlier than I need to and fit exercise in then. Either a run or home weights or Peleton session. Lay my kit out the night before, roll out of bed, brush teeth and get straight into it. And then shower and get ready for the day afterwards - can’t be arsed with two showers a day which I’d need to have if I worked out later in the day. I get a bit sweaty! I don’t really care that I probably look like a mess on my morning run because hair isn’t done (up in a bun anyway) and no make up. It’s exercise, not a fashion parade. It makes the day long and probably don’t get enough sleep as a result but I know it’s probably better for me to focus on keeping muscle mass up right now that worry about 45 mins less sleep.

Sadly same for me, I went off booze a bit when I first started (actually did 3 weeks no alcohol) then slowly crept in, stopped a bit when had bad side effects but am back to how I was before now. However I don’t drink wine now or lager or cider instead I have gin and slimline tonic so I will be reducing calories just not the alcohol content eeek x

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 07/05/2025 00:09

Please please be careful with alcohol, those who are drinking. I’m in a weight loss surgery group on FB and transfer addiction is very real and very dangerous. Your addiction of eating/snacking can turn into alcohol addiction if you aren’t careful. There are so many people in that group who are now battling another type of addiction after the surgery fixed their food addiction. I know this isn’t a surgery group but with what the injection does, it works similarly to how surgery works.

GameOfJones · 07/05/2025 07:41

End of week 9 weigh in and another 1lb lost. It is definitely slowing down now but I'm sticking to the 5mg dose as I seem to have a good balance of being able to eat but make better choices and no side effects any more. Let's hope I don't jinx it now I've said that! 🤣

Weight last summer: 15st 1lb

SW on Mounjaro: 14st

CW: 12st 5lbs

My BMI has come down from 34 last year to 28. If I lose another 1lb then I'll be the same weight I was when I got married and will be my lowest weight in more than 10 years.

My overall goal is to get into the healthy BMI range, for which I need to be under 11st. I'm probably aiming for 10st 7lb so I've got some wiggle room. I can't image being that weight though!

EchoNova · 07/05/2025 07:46

Morning.

Took my first 7.5 mg yesterday and felt awful a few hours after it however woke up this morning and feel fine thankfully. But for the first time ever I have got an itchy rash on the injection site - it hasn't happened with any of the previous injections - did this happen to anyone else?

Weigh day today and I'm down another 3lbs which I'm thrilled with.

SW: 13st 7lbs
CW: 11st 12lbs
GW: 10st 5lbs (ish)

W1: -5lbs
W2: -3lbs
W3: -1lb
W4: -4lbs
W5: -1lb
W6: -5lbs
W7: -1lb
W8: -3lbs

Total: 23lbs

Hi, I’m on my second week of 5 mg. Weight loss has picked up, but all the suppression and symptoms are front loaded should I break the dose up?

Menopants · 07/05/2025 08:02

Hi, I’m on my second week of 5 mg. Weight loss has picked up, but all the suppression and symptoms are front loaded should I break the dose up?

I wouldn’t mess with the dosage but you will find that it starts loading better in your system over time. Some people use the shotsy app so you can see how much is in you. You might still see that the last day or 2 has reduced support but it evens out better over the week. Remember, you are still on a loading dosage so it might be that you start reacting better as you move up to 7.5 or 10mg.

TheBossOfMe · 07/05/2025 09:06

Morning all. So after both increasing my dose to 7.5 and jabbing two days early because of an upcoming flight, I had a bit of an unpleasant evening. I ended up having to have some more food after dinner/before bed last night to try and both get calories/protein into me, and to stave off significant waves of nausea. Result this morning was feeling like I had undigested food in my stomach, and being sick shortly after getting out of bed. Won't make that mistake again - I need to give time for food to digest before going horizontal!

However, looking back at our threads (great place to record the journey!), I've realised that the last time I had any problematic SEs (beyond feeling cold all the time) was when I went up to 5mg, so hopefully it's just my body adjusting to the higher dose. And I feel a lot better today, still nauseous but nowhere near as bad as yesterday. Not good enough to exercise yesterday or today but that's OK - listen to your body is my mantra for exercise. Worst case I can just walk home from work today - it's 50 mins so a decent bit of Zone 2 exercise.

Mid-week accountability weigh in.

SW 10st 4.6lb/144.6lb BMI 25.7 (prescribed MJ because of diabetes risk and hideous waist measurement)
CW 9st 3lb/129lb BMI 22.9 - 15.6lb down, 58.7% of target achieved.
GW 8st 6lb/118lb (26.6lb total target loss, 11lb to go) BMI 20.9 (low BMI advised as target by doctor)

Loss by week:
W1 5.5lb
W2 1.3lb
W3 0.7lb (ate out loads)
W4 3.3lb
W5 0.5lb gain (ate out loads)
W6 3.8lb (Post Easter weekend plus period)
W7 2.6lb
W8 1.5lb gain (BH weekend away, ate out loads)
W9 0.4lb so far

My flight is for a business trip to the US - will need to be mindful whilst away because US portion sizes are huge, and very calorie dense. But it's NY, and they're always OK in restaurants for you to ask for dressings left off, or things on the side, so I'll just have to not get embarrassed about doing that in front of colleagues (all male). And because it's NY, there will be a lot of walking, so that will help.

GiveMeWordGames · 07/05/2025 10:22

This is pretty much exactly me yesterday. I think I ate a bit later than normal on Monday night and then had a particularly early start yesterday. Still felt a bit ropey today after waking at about 4am but pushed through it and did some deep breathing to get back to sleep without throwing up again. Good luck in NY - you could also have a starter as a main maybe?

So I'm on day 3 of Week 7, having done my 3rd 5mg on Monday. Little update:

(5ft 8)
SW 17st 4
CW 16st 0
GW 11-12st, we shall see.

Really want to get into the 15st bracket, so close! But I'm happy with an 18lb loss over 6 weeks.

Trip to Scotland from tomorrow for a couple of days with DH's friends. I'm not worried about eating too much, suppression is too good for that. Just don't want SEs on a 4.5 hour train journey!!

TheBossOfMe · 07/05/2025 10:43

@GiveMeWordGames That is a brilliant weight loss, especially since you've not even gone up to 7.5 yet. Trip to Scotland sounds amazing, hope the train journey is ok.

The eating too late thing is a definite thing - both times I've been sick it's been because of late food. So one to watch out for.

My plan for NY is look at the menus online for the places we're eating ahead of time to work out the best things to order, rather than feeling pressured at the table. And two starters/no pudding - I think I can probably find a starter in every restaurant that's a light salad, and order with dressing on the side. And then a second protein rich starter for my main, avoiding the sides (US menus always seem to have things as sides that I'd consider an actual meal in their own right, like mac'n'cheese). The wine will be more challenging, but I think the fear of nausea/killer hangover will probably make me sensible, plus US folks don't drink so much anyway.

taylorswift1989 · 07/05/2025 11:13

Hi all, haven't been keeping up with the thread as life has been busy! Have been feeling like I'm eating a lot and lots of the wrong things but also need to remember that I am now looking at a few square of chocolate as a lot, whereas before MJ it would have been the whole big bar! I'm jabbing 40 clicks of a 5mg pen and thinking maybe I'll increase next week, although not sure I need to. I've had zero appetite suppression but generally more ease around food and seem to be losing weight slowly.

TheBossOfMe · 07/05/2025 11:27

@taylorswift1989 - that sounds like a good shift in eating habits, and a sustainable behavioural change, which is better than just not eating because suppression is so high, IMO. I'm also losing slowly, not worried about that at all, not least because my belly skin needs a bit of time to shrink back! Or else I'll be adding the cost of a tummy tuck onto the cost of the MJ!

I mentioned upthread that I think the GW the doctor asked me to aim for being too low. I understand why he suggested that, but I've looked back at MFP, and I haven't been that light since I started logging my weight years ago. He's asked for 118lb, whereas the lowest I've been in about 13 years is 123, and usually was around 124/125lb. And that was at a time when I was a lot fitter and more muscular than now. So definitely going to query that when I have my check up next week. I'd rather be heavier but more muscular than lighter with less tone.

northernlight20 · 07/05/2025 11:40

Morning all,
sw 114.4kg
cw 106.1kg
after feeling suppression was pretty non existent on 5mg, this morning, I jabbed 6.5mg and it was almost instant suppression, all I’ve managed this morning is a an apple and some grapes. Will stay on 6.5 for now. When I went up to 5, the first week, I had suppression but also had intense headaches. Good to see everyone’s progress.

GiveMeWordGames · 07/05/2025 11:58

@TheBossOfMe thank you!.

And, yes, US "sides" really aren't. For my trip I've done similar to you, looking ahead to the place we're due to have a big celebration meal on Friday.

I forgot to mention I had a nice NSV at the weekend. My size 20 M&S jeans, which had been getting tighter and pinching at my waist, now fit comfortably again, and are even a little loose. They were actually the main reason I decided to go for it with MJ. Not that I have some insane love for them😁, just that I realised: here we go again, I'm creeping up in size slowly but surely as I have done for years. Time to stop.

TheBossOfMe · 07/05/2025 14:17

@GiveMeWordGames Lovely NSV! It's amazing how the slow creep happens - although in my case, it actually all went on in the space of about a year, just that month by month creep after an injury. It took me longer to recover post-surgery than I thought it would, and I almost cried when I stepped on the scales at my annual check up. I knew I'd put a lot on, but the scales shocked me, as did all my health metrics. I used to be really fit and pretty healthy, but was at risk of developing T2 diabetes, along with a load of other associated health problems. Last summer I wore the same few outfits on continuous rotation because I couldn't fit in most of my wardrobe - and after a Christmas when I felt like I wasn't looking my usual self and again struggled to fit into party wear, it really was an enough is enough moment.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 07/05/2025 15:53

Afternoon all. I'm so behind on this thread.
I'm on week 9 I think and am slowly falling out of love with MJ.

I've had really excellent losses, and no real SE to start with. But now I'm just so exhausted. I feel mildly nauseous, but I feel like it's a vicious circle, as I feel like I do when I have eaten enough or having lie blood sugar.

But the tiredness is debilitating. It's really affecting my day to day life.

I did 4 weeks at 2.5
1 week 3mg and now 3 weeks of 3.75.

I really don't want to stop. Any advice on the exhaustion?

LilyLondon · 07/05/2025 16:00

@Illbefinejustbloodyfinesorry to hear about your tiredness, I’ve been suffering from it too 😔 I’m at the end of my week 9 (jabbing tomorrow, which is 8 days after the last one, since I’m moving my jab day slowly over a couple of weeks to do it just before a trip and not carry my pen on the plane) and I feel like the tiredness has been very slowly easing this week… still pretty bad but maybe a tiny bit better. Perhaps it just takes a few weeks to adjust? 🤞
